Strange noise after turning off the notebook (dv6-6160ew)

Hi I'v just got my new notebook dv6-6160ew and I am kinda worried about one thing, whenever i turn it off, about one second after it powers off i can hear a quite loud noise that saund as if a spinning disc was slowing down and stopping, im guessing that it is the hdd (as there is no cd incide the cd-drive) so I just want to know if this is normal as I have never experienced it with any other notebook and I've had quite a few (no hp though). I will be very gratefull for the answer.

This can also be a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Just guessing, but I would think, as I look at mine, that it might have to do with when the apps were added to the device. To be honest, identifying this as a bug might not be correct. My mac mini loses connection with my receiver after turning off the receiver then back on

My Mac Mini loses connection with my Onkyo receiver NR-609 after turning off the receiver then back on. The only way to reistablish the connection is to unplug then replug the HDMI cable to the Mac Mini. There's no effect if I unplug then replug the HDMI to the receiver. Any help or suggestions would be appreciated. I've searched a lot but haven't found much of anything so if this is covered elsewhere I would greatly appreciate a link.

Hi and thanks. I don't know about the audio prefs. When it happens I am not able to see or hear anything from the computer until I un/re-plug the HDMI to the Mini. I'm not sure it's changing to something else because there's nothing else connected for it to change to. I could see that perhaps the audio will change to the Mac Mini's internal speaker.
I found out last night that if, after I lose the signal, I use my ipad to play a video on the Mac Mini using the Remote app and home sharing the signal gets righted and I can see/hear the computer again. It's quite an inconvenient fix though and I wish and hope someone here can help me.

Notebook showing network activity after turned off

Hi, after turn off my notebook HP Probook 4540s with connected ethernet cable and power source, the RJ-45 connector on my notebook still indicates(LED shines) like there is a network transmission in progress. If I disconnects ethernet cable, indication stops. When I reconnect it back, it starts indicating agian. I thought it was by bios settings something like boot on lan, but it doesn't seem so. Is it common for RJ-45 port to indicates even when is computer turned off? Also I have d-link router, maybe is it a d-link setting?

Turning Off The Alert - Notebook PC Battery Replacement Program Alert in Health Check.

I want to turn off the Notebook PC Battery Replacement Program Alert in Health Check. It continues to alert me for months now. This is driving me batty since I have checked it 3 times and it is not included in the recall! I have a HP Pavillion dv6000 running Windows Vista Home Premium Edition. Restarting music from last played after turn off!!

Has anyone been able to figure out how to resume playback of shuffled music after turning off the ipod touch?? When U turn mine off or the battery runs out I have to start the shuffle from the beginning again. Really annoying isn't it?? Are there any fixes or solutions. Also I have downloaded 1.1.3 and it does the same thing.

Just put the iPod to sleep by tapping the sleep/wake button. Then you can wake it and continue playback. You can also double tap the home button to see iPod playback controls while the iPod is locked.

Please don't understand me wrong but it is not easy to understand issue described in your posting.
I have the same notebook model and everything works well. I hear music daily on Windows media player (mp3s) or listening online radio using Winamp player.
At the same time I can use flash cards.
What to say about strange noises? Who knows what do you mean exactly and how should we understand this?
Please be so nice and explain us exactly what do you do and what kind of noises you can hear.

Can you take a screenshot of the pop-up notification?
To take a screenshot hold ⌘ Shift 4 to create a selection crosshair. Click and hold while you drag the crosshair over the area you wish to capture and then release the mouse button. You will hear a "camera shutter" sound. This will deposit a screenshot on your Desktop.
If you can't find it on your Desktop look in your Documents or Downloads folder.
If you want to attach a screenshot to a response here, click the "camera" icon above the text field:
This will display a dialog box which enables you to choose the screenshot file (remember it's on your Desktop) and click the Insert Image button.
⌘ Shift 4 and then pressing the space bar captures the window the cursor is on.

Cant edit powersetting for laptop to turn off the display after .. when power is plugged in

I tried to set the setting on a laptop in our domain from "turn off the display after 5 minutes" to "never".
the button is greyed out.
I tried the advanced settings, even that won't work.
Os on the laptop is windows 8.1 Pro, the laptop is a member in a domain.
Anyone knows this issue?

Please check the policy Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\System\Power Management\Video and Display Settings
(if deployed by a GPO created by server in a domain, then check Computer Configuration\Policies\Administrative Templates\System\Power Management\Video and Display Settings)
in the right pane, find "Turn off the display (Plugged in)", check whether it is configured to a specific data.

You might have voice over enabled. Connect to iTunes and disable voice over under configure universal access.

Doing those doesn't turn off your phone?
As stated hold down the top button only until you see the red slider to power off your phone.
If that doesn't work then take it to Apple and see what they say.
