Unfortunately if there are various colours across the screen then you have broken the LCD Screen and it will need replacing. If the colours change when you press the area lightly then this is another symptom that you've broken the screen.
Sorry to give the bad news!

  • Strange noise from the back of my iPad

    Hi!
I've had my iPad 4 since Christmas and its always made a strange noise from the back when releasing pressure. This happens when holding the iPad in landscape mode with home button to the right and since that's my favorite way to hold it it happens all the time.
Apple support could not verify over the phone if this was normal or not, should I take it to them for a look? I suspect something not being properly glued inside but I don't have a clue if its serious or not. Is it worth opening up and having it fixed?

    Hi King Penguin.
Many thanks for your quick response
I've swapped sockets and it still happens and I've tried the plug from my I phone as well and no change. I've spent the last hour or so searching the forums and come across so many conflicting theory's included responses from apple where people have been told its normal, the general consensus seems that it's an earthing problem with the supplied adapters, i.e no earth connection in the supplied adapter. I'm no electrician however but seems strange to me that apple know of this and are quite happy to to nothing about it. I'm going back to the apple store this week to discuss it with them and see what they say.

You should take it to an Apple store or an AASP (Authorized Apple Service Provider) Carefully inspect the hinge joint and make sure there is no debris that you can see, you can try carefully sliding some sticky tape thru the joint to clear any loose stuff out. But this sounds like there might be more going on here, and the hinge is something that you do not want to fool with.

Sounds like the disk in your MBP is accessing data on wake up
If you are still concerned you can take it into the Apple Store where they can hear it to be sure

  • Macbook Pro 2009 Mid year  making noises from top right corner near the cd

I recently got my macbook pro and on the second day i begun to hear a noise from the cd drive like a scatching sound or like a disc was playing without anything being in there. I brought it to the store within a week and they said it needs a new logic board. I only had it for a week and its been in repair for almost 2 weeks. Is this normal? Im getting a feeling that my computer isnt new or something. Can i ask for a new one or is it to late? im having doubts now.

When you have the problem, note the exact time: hour, minute, second.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

  • Noise on the left side of the keyboard?

I have a MacBook Pro and since 2 days ago I'm hearing a noise of the left side of the keyboard.
The noise is constant and it looks like its from the disk. Why it can be? I'm not able to describe the noise but it sounds like the disk working but with a glitch.
    Any advice? Thanks

It looks like the sound comes from a external port? Is that possible?
Not unless the sound is coming from somewhere else inside the machine and you hear it when your ear is pressed against the ports. None of the ports ever emit sounds by themselves.
The sound looks like a disk head rolling?
A sound can't be seen, so it can't look like anything.
In rare instances, the CPU and/or GPU can emit noises, and if the noise increases when you begin a download, perhaps that's what is happening in your machine. Take it to an Apple Store or authorized service provider to be evaluated.

  • CS6:  'lost' the T Type tool from the left hand tool bar. [was:A question]

I have CS6 and ghave suddenly 'lost' the T Type tool from the left hand tool bar. How do I get it back please?

Do you have the Text on a Path tool in it's place, or no tool at all? If you press and hold any tool with samll triangle in the lower right corner, like the text tool, it will expand to show you the other tools available in that spot.

  • Built-In Microphone records audio only from the Left speaker

I'm not sure if my settings are correctly set up, but whenever I record through Logic, it only picks up sound from the Left Speaker of my MacBook Pro.
When I try to make noise through the Right Speaker, Logic's sound levels do not respond.
Any ideas why this is happening? I don't plan on using the built-in Microphone for much longer, but it's all I currently have at this point. Thanks!

    James,
Again, thanks for the response! I guess what Tokuda said about the mono Mic in the left speaker settles that. I was just confused, because when I used Sound Forge on my Windows partition, it would always pick up sound from both speakers (I think?). I could be wrong on that one too though.
As for goals, my long term goal is to produce Club/Dance music & some serious Vocal work with Logic. Only thing is I have no basis or ground knowledge of music. For instance, I don't even know how to play the piano, or read music for that matter. Sad, I know...but it is a work in progress. And the only Microphone I use is built-in and my voice overs always sound so bland & one-dimensional. No dynamics or great effects to them, like Tpayne, BSpears, or Madonna vocals. Not sure where I should start, maybe take some basic music theory courses at the local community college, grab an internship at a radio station, & then further my education @ SAE, or Berklee College of Music to learn more advanced editing techniques.
In the meantime, I have been producing Cheer, Dance, & Aerobic music for the past 5 years. It first started as a hobby, and then transformed into its own little business, and now I do hundreds of mixes for Cheerleaders & All Star programs all over the place! It came so natural to me though...Laying beats over songs, then adding my own creative touch to make it my own. I've been using Acid, which is GREAT for what I do, but isn't going to get me much further than that. That being said, I finally made the decision to move up to Logic, not only to broaden my musical horizons, but to hopefully continue making Cheer music with it as well.
Since Acid is PC only, I still do work on my desktop PC and have been slowly weaning myself from it. The Logic learning curve is extremely difficult (for me at least) and it's taken a lot of getting used to some things like NOT being able to cross-fade my loops. Very, very annoying. Nonetheless, I know I have to make the switch to Mac if I'm really serious about making it anywhere in this biz.
Anyway, I can totally email you one of my mixes (if you're interested). I would post a link here, but I gather most of the musicians on here wouldn't really appreciate it as much as I do, haha. Oh and by the way, thanks for taking the time to listen & help me out here. It means a lot man!

  • MSI z77A-G43 C1E enabled and strange noise from cpu area ?

MSI z77A-G43 C1E enabled and strange noise from cpu area ? What will be the problem? When I disabled it there is no sound. BUt when I enabled it there is a strange noise while moving my mouse cursor or when there is some CPU activity, sounds like a squeeking or scratching, a bit like hdd activity, but barely noticeable. It looks like it's coming from the area around the cpu socket, must be something on the motherboard. is there a solution other than just disabling it? I want to be able to make C1E enable but cant bare this noise so I have to turn it of....

Sound like some electrical sound produced by current going through that area.
Try contacting MSI support for more help.
