Strange noises when music is paused

Don't know if this is the same problem as previously highlighted; when I pause the latest version of itunes I get strange noises - like scratchings etc. Any ideas/fixes?

  • My ipod touch makes a strange noise when makes the synchronization with itunes

At first my ipod touch began doing strange noise in differents situations. Yesterday I try to solved it doing this: I connected it to itunes a made a restore. I thought it was solved, but today the noise came back.  I could identify when it happens. If the ipod is off and I plug the usb cable, itunes starts and the ipod turn on, then the first thing it do is connected to the wifi network, then syncronizations began and the strange noise is heard.
    Some idea?
Do you think it would be neccesary to visit an apple store to solve it. My ipod is even covered by warranty.
    Thank you very much.

    Hey DerikK,
Maybe you could help me too..

  • Satellite C855 - strange noise when tried to watch/listen something

I bought this laptop around a month ago. When I first tried to watch or listen something, sizzling kinda noise came up for a few seconds and gone.
I didn't think that it was important. But now, it happens everyday and lots of times when I listen or watch something. It buzzes, sizzles for a few seconds and it is really annoying.
    What could the problem be?
    Please help me...

Are you sure the buzz and sizzle come from the speakers / headphones?
Maybe the strange noise comes from HDD?
In this case it would be an HDD malfunction.
It could be also possible that this strange noise appears because of stressed CPU.
In such case the applications (player) hangs / freezes for a second and creates some strange noises.
Would be interesting to know if system restore / system recovery would fix it

  • Strange noises when ipod touch power plugged and headphones cable connected

    Hi everybody,
this is my first post. It has been annoying me for a long time now.
The thin is, when I plug in the ipod via charger or USB cable and I want top listen to music while it charges i get this crackling noise and a high pitch one as background atmosphere which is ok if you listen to loud music but very annoying if you listen to calm music.
I want to connect it to my stereo and i found out that when I disconnect the power cable its allright. When I put the audio cable on the metal sufrace I just get the crackling noise without the pitch and when its plugged into usb and connected to my ipod I can modify the noise when i scroll on the touchpad. Its like scraching on vinyls but not cool.
I don't know what to do. I mean sometimes you want to listen to music AND charge your ipod right?
    Has this happend to anyone?
    Best regards

Well thanks for pointing me to that feature, I didn't notice it before, but nobody there really has the same problem.
They are complaining about not being able to charge and listen at the same time. This is histroy since iOS5.
I shure can listen to my music. And for example via bluetooth its no problem being connected and listen to music, even while I sychronize. But if I plug in the audio jack, and have the ipod charging I get this noises.
I hope the problem is now more precisely described.

  • Strange noise when downloading (but in hardware)

Hi, this is the most paranoid question from me ever... so be patient please...
I have this problem, I've recently noticed that sometimes my macbook pro (2010 i7) is making strange noise (it is not hardrive, not fans), it is like the old TVs without any signal, or analog monitors long time in stanby mode (not all, but low end ones). It is close to this sound that I found on youtube, but this isn't my video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fOjgdx-aKsE
This strange sound I've got with downloading some files from internet, sound came from place where is MagSafe, but I don't think it is it, 'cause that is when is plugged in and olso plugged out (power cord). It is maybe one centimeter under MagSafe... But when I look at the picture of macbook pro dissassembled, Airport Express is close to it.
I don't know, if that sound will be with ethernet downloading, but over wifi it is. But the most strangest thing is, when I download some file (like podcast) in iTunes, wierd sound will make, also with downloading files with jDownloader... BUT not with downloading files with Safari (or Firefox) ... 64bit over 32 bit? Safari and jDownloader are 64bit, iTunes and Firefox I have 32 bit...
    Could you tell me why?
    Thanks for ANY response.
    Have a nice day

    hello,
same white noise from the speakers on my macbook. volume beeps fine but in between beeps i hear white noise.
    happens with youtube vids.
very intermittent. seems like a software issue to me.
reinstalled leopard, went away for a few days but it's back now.

  • My CD drive keeps making strange noises when macbook first turns on or wakes from sleep

    Any ideas?

It started a few months ago, but I got the macbook about 3 years ago. It seems that it doesn't make noises when there is a disc inserted, but when it's empty it does (very embarrassing in a quiet library!) - it's almost like it's satisfied when full of food, but it rumbles when it's hungry. Any ideas?

  • Strange Noise When Powering Off

  • Strange noise when iPod Touch doesn't play music...

    hello dear board members
I have a weird problem with my brand new iPod Touch. As soon as there is no music
playing, I have noise in my earphones. This vanishes if I just mute the music. I wonder
wether this is a hardware probleme, i.e. interference of some kind. It's not very loud, but
it drives me crazy and I think this is not normal, is it? What could I do to remove this, or will
it be necessary to send in my ipod?
    best

right now I'm using just the standard apple earphones. With my sony headphones,
it's a lot less noticeable. It's just that with my old 2nd gen iPod I didn't have this hissing.
I just find it weird that the headphone jack outputs a signal when there s no music playing.

  • My ear pods make a strange noise when I'm not listening to music.

My earpods make a ZZZZ sound whenever I'm not listening to music. When I touch my iPhone screen the sound increases.I've had this problem since I had my iPhone 5.Is this normal?

AC/DC adapters come in different designs, and the higher current output of the iPad charger uses a different design than the iPhone (or iPad mini) charger.  Most adapters these days are "switch-mode" design for better efficiency, but I suspect that the iPad charger may be a linear design, such that one tap of the transformer is tied to the ground lead of the dock cable, and thus the iPad shell.
You'd be shocked (pun intended) to know that the voltage on the iPad shell may be about half your line voltage ... it is about 40-50 VAC here in the US, or if you flip it around (since the US charger is not polarized) it may be only about 20-25 VAC.  But as I said, the supply is current-limited, and is well within international safety limits.

Try to increase playback buffers, and look (computer managment or system info)if there are IRQ's shared especially w/ sound device and NIC or HD.
Also check if HD(s) are set for DMA transfer mode and state of write caching (enable/disable).

  • IPod touch 4g makes "hiccup" noises when music is playing?

Hi, recently my iPod Touch 4g started making "Hic" sounds when I'm listening to music. At first, I thougt it was the headphones, but after changing the headphones, the same thing occured.
I'm certain it's not the song file or the headphones.
    Any ideas?

  • Strange Noises When Calling

Lately i have been getting weird like alien scratching noises (thats the best i know how to describe it) when i call people sometimes. Its like a screeching noise that continues. I don't know if it is my iPhone or what. Im just curious if anyone else has had these problems or something similar?

I've experienced the exact same thing several times during the past week. I make a call and I hear ringing. Then it goes into screech mode. It doesn't stop. In one instance, I tried repeating the call several times with the same result. Is it the phone or is it AT&T?

  • Strange noises when i move ipod around

anybody else have this problem? I just got a 30g black ipod video for christmas and it was working great until I flipped it over to look at the back and I heard a clicking noise inside the ipod. I moved it around a little bit more and I could even hear the hardrive or some other mechanical sound coming from the inside. I'm probably going back on monday to get an exchange, but just wanted to know if anyone else has had this problem. Also, the noise can only be heard when the ipod is on and a video or something is playing.

If the hard drive was spinning when you turned the iPod over, the clicking noise is normal - it's the hard drive parking its read/write heads in anticipation of your dropping the iPod...
Apple has been using shock protection technology in the iPod beginning with the iPod Photo. The buzzing noise you hear when slowly moving the iPod (I assume this is what you were referring to as mechanical sounds) is also associated with this feature.
