Strange Premier CS6 problems

I'm in Premier CS6, and I'm not able to import files into the project by clicking on the file in the folder and dragging it in; I have to right click in the project tab and click import. Once the file is in, however, I cannot drag it onto the timeline; I have to right click, then insert. Once it's on the timeline, I can't drag it to another track or move it on the existing track.

I was able to work around it, but if I want to do multiple layers I have to lock the layers below (otherwise they'll split at the point of insertion) and make sure the track I want it inserted on is selected (sometimes I have to switch te the track selector tool). To slide the clips within a track I have to use the slide tool. I used to be able to insert clips on tracks above other clips without splitting the tracks below and select tracks and slide clips just by using the selection tool. I'm just wonuering what happened and how to get back to the way it was.

Adobe Premier CS6 Classroom in a Book - Lesson 11.prproj

I bought Adobe Premier CS6 Classroom in a Book and am trying to use the lesson files that are on the CD.
At school, I have an iMac and all the lesson files load up perfectly, whether they are being loaded from the included CD or from the external 7200RPM Firewire 800 hard drive I have.
Yet, when I try to load the same prproj files on my Windows 7 PC, I get a pop-up error that says:
This project contained a sequence that could not be opened.
No sequence preview preset file or codec could be associated with this sequence type.
It isn't just happening on one file. Some of the files open, but most of them do not.
Does anybody have any ideas on what I can do here?

IIRC, the CiaB files are MOV. Is that correct?
Do you have Apple's QT Player installed on your PC, and if so, what version?

Update to Premier CS6 6.0.2 turned my project into a disaster.

I just updated from Premier CS6 6.0.0 to 6.0.2. My existing project is now a disaster:
I can't toggle through .pngs or .jpgs on my timeline without a 10 second delay without a render.
The rendering of 1 still image can take up to one hour.
My audio often is not audible.
When the program freezes, my whole computer shuts down unexpectedly.
In other words, I'm unable to continue working on my project. My project worked seemlessly before the update.
I've tried deleting render files, working with still images off a new project and drive with same problems. And everything else I could think of.
I'm on new MacBook Pro Retina
2.7 GHz Intel Core i7
16GB RAM
NVIDIA GeForce GT 650M 1024MB
Mac OS X Lion
Any suggestions?

Does your project use CUDA-accelerated Mercury Playback? Did you have to employ the "hack" to get hardware MPE on your system? If so, then the update probably reset the hack and now you're having to work with software MPE only. Re-hack the text file, or just delete it to bring back hardware MPE.
If that's not the issue, then try creating a brand new project and import the old one into it. You can also try deleting all of your cache files and cleaning the media cache database.

Not seeing increase in speed with dual GTX880m (16GB in SLi)- Premier CS6 or CC

-I've enabled the "hack" so CUDA is recognized in Premier CS6 and CC but I don't see any difference in speed between software and CUDA.

In a laptop I am wondering if they really can support two PCIe X16 lanes. I would suggest that you download GPU-Z and look at this
This when the GPU is working hard this is what you should see, when not working it throttles back to "@x16 2.0" or to @x16 1.1" . But at least it is running with x16 lanes of the PCIe bus. In desktop systems when you install two GPU's it is not uncommon to see one or both fall back to x8. GPU-Z can run multiple instances so you can have two of these screens running and set one to each GPU. If this shows a throttling problem I doubt that there is any way around it.
Next lesson for the day is to then look at the Sensors TAB on the top of each and this is what you will see:
Notice the GPU Load item where we have 99% usage. So for this case my GTX 765M is being fully utilized.
If you also notice in both screens I have overclocked the GPU memory by 50% and achieved much better results but the GPU temperature is a very safe 56°C. In laptops they of course stress battery life, they achieve this ultra conservative operation by severe performance reduction.

Premier CS6 importer error for mxf files

I can't import any mxf file into Premier CS6. I don't really understand this situation.
I have intalled Canopus.HQ.CODEC.v6.0.7 and for example my vlc media player plays fine all of my mxf files.
Can anybody help me solve this issue?

Probably because they want to be able to investigate the exact type of mxf file it actually is. Because I edit mxf files with Premiere cs6 fairly regularly and I never have issues. So obivously something is either different with that specific type of mxf or something is corrupted which I doubt. Could you upload a small test file? So we can see if it will import into Premiere on our systems. Also since you're saying they digitized them using a canopus capture device/card and or software I'm thinking you may need that software and or the specific codec installed on your system in order to actually make use of that type of file.
I'd recommend downloading the entire "canopus playback codec pack". This should solve your issue. However I have no way to promise it will, I'm fairly sure it should work... Simply google "Canopus Playback Codec Pack" and the first result will give you the info your need to get the full playback package. I'm guessing this your problem.

Import Avid sequence in Premier CS6

Hello,
Here is my problem, I have to get back a project rise on Avid Média Composer to transfer it in Premier CS6 ( official version).
I followed a tuto telling me to export the sequence Avid in .aaf and importer that in Premier.
But when I want to connect the media, the message " the module of import indicated a generic error " appears.
Anybody knows and/or can give me a little bit of help?

Ok, here is what I have so far. Appdelete the iWork and reinstalled. Pages and Number work, but not Keynote.
Now, I downloaded a couple apps that I need, and no matter what I did, the spinning ball came up and the download stopped till it unlocked itself. It is really frustrating because the download was not completed and whatever came through would not mount. Could this issue be the internet connection? Permission fix showed a lot of Airport issues. I will try to run permissions fix again.

Hi all,
I've been trying to figure this out for a long time now and it's really to the point where I've tried everything. I'm trying to install the Demo of Premier CS6, with the hopes of then purchasing a license..but I wanted to get it installed and try it first. However, I can't even get it installed. (Mind you, I already have 5.5 installed.)
Every time I try to install Premier, Encore works just fine, but Premier fails. I get the following error:

Photoshop CS6 Problems

I have installed photoshop cs6 on my computer (Windows 7) but the programm is a bit useless since it can't create or open files.
I tryed reinstalling all my adobe programms 3 times but photoshop still won't work.
Do you have an idea how I can make the programm work?

Thanks for you email, I finally went to an informatician today. We
finally found out that even if windows 7 sais the drivers are up to date
the driver that is managin to switsch between the two graphic cards
wasn't up to date. We downloaded it from the website and photoshop works
now perfectly well.

Refine-edges! CS6, problems!

Having big probelms with, refine-edges, in CS6. after the selection and entering the, refine-edges, to either remove or add, with either brush or eraser, it simply won't work, the alterations never seem to register and it comes back, i.e. its impossible to use. I am a photographer and work in Mac.
Any ideas anybody?

Adobe Photoshop CS6 Problem

I have successfully installed Photoshop CS6 to my computer. However, when I open the front page to CS6 everything "freezes up", and I cannot open any of the tabs - not even the file or close tabs.
Have uninstalled and re-installed the CS6 several times with no effect. Am installing from a boxed disc that I purchased from Adobe.

Premier CS6 won't load up.

Had to restore my system (Lion) to a previous time (12 hours earlier). Everything loaded up except Premier CS6 won't load past importerQuicktime.bundle. Any suggestions?@

Importing an Avid 6 edited film in .MOV into Adobe Premier CS6 for re-editing but codec issues!

Hello,
My first time using Adobe Premier CS6.
I have edited a film on Avid 6 but it's far too big.
I want to import this film into Adobe Premier CS6 for re editing so I can export it as a H.264 and make it small enough to post online (currently it's 9gb)
I have tried importing it but I'm running into CODEC issues eeven though it's a .mov. What can I do?
Please help, it's all new to me.

I have a strange 3g data problem.

I have a strange 3g data problem. At home I have zero 3G connectivity even though all bars are showing and says "3G" and wifi is "Off" ... unless I am on the phone and then magically the 3G data connection works perfectly!! Does anyone have any idea what is happening? Also when I bring my phone to my dad's or my friends house the problem disappears!! Is this a hardware or a AT&T network problem? os is 4.3.3
Also called ATT and they said there was no problem with the network and that it was a hardware issue. Also restored the phone several times but the problem did not go away.

OK, no trouble shooting. The first thing I'd attempt is restarting in Safe Mode. If you still don't have luck try doing both a SMC and PRAM reset, it wouldn't hurt to do the SMC reset a couple of times. If still no luck let us know.
SMC RESET
Shut down the computer.
Unplug the computer's power cord and all peripherals.
Press and hold the power button for 5 seconds.
Release the power button.
Attach the computers power cable.
Press the power button to turn on the computer.
PRAM RESET
Shut down the computer.
Locate the following keys on the keyboard: Command, Option, P, and R. You will need to hold these keys down simultaneously in step 4.
Turn on the computer.
Press and hold the Command-Option-P-R keys. You must press this key combination before the gray screen appears.
Hold the keys down until the computer restarts and you hear the startup sound for the second time.
Release the keys.
