Strange problem with videos substituted

I an making videos tom accumulated clips taken with a D4 camera. these are of birds and each with its own species folder.
So I chose all the videos in the American Redstart folder and imported them into PP. then I was editing, trimming and such. Usually I end the clip just after the bird flies, by dragging the end hand back. Usually this shows no bird as I drag, till the last frame of it leaving shows, and then I stop right after. There were a couple of clips however where when I dragged the end, there was a different bird in the picture. In one case it wasn't even the same species.
Then in another, it was the differently colored male instead of the female. this was strange particularly, because there were only 2 of 16 clips that had males, and it wasn't from either. So I went back to the Adobe CS6 Bridge folder and played the clip on media player, and it was the male bird. I also saw a couple of other male bird clips that I hadn't seen in my editing in PP. I checked the number of the particular clip, 9004710 and in Bridge it shows the male bird and plays that in media player. I deleted the clip in PP and reimported and it still plays a clip of a female bird. I am still trying to figure where the substitution is occuring.
Then I tried, just dragging the clip directly from Bridge into PP and it makes no difference. I can't make any sense of this at all.
Further investigation shows that the clip that is playing is 9004753. It, also took the place of 9004739 and 98004790, which are also male birds.
Deleting 9004753 from the project doesn't prevent from substituting the other 3 tracks.
In a test new sequence, importing 9004710 plays the correct sequence.

I have accumlated more than a thosand video clips and made some movies before, but am only now starting to do it more intensely.
My procedure has always been thus: download the card to a new day folder. Rough edit and delete obvious junk. Re-edit more carefully once or twice and maybe rate the videos as well as the stills from the card. After this I add data, such as description, locality, date etc. Then I renumber all contents according to my numbering system. Then I move all subjects to species folders that are arranged in a phylogenetic tree.
This problem only popped up a few days ago. Just before that I made some other video with about the same number of clips without the problem and posted some to youtube, EG:

So the problem doesn't seem related to thsi way I have always done things and only started a couple of days ago, coincidentally though after I added McAfee to my computer.

Strange problems with video with new P965 Plat

I just put together a new machine and I'm stumped by a video problem I'm having. I *think* its any graphics using hardware acceleration.
Specifically: Menu fade-in, windows' built-in 3d screen savers, and games. These all seem to be running in single-digit FPS, games unaffected by resolution, AA, etc. Other oddities: in BIOS menu, the animated gradient bar at the top which moves very slowly, and bios is slow to respond to the keyboard (using a usb keyboard); Windows setup from CD runs VERY slowly; Windows boot up logo fades in VERY slowly (dragging down the whole boot up process) but once the loading bar starts to move the process is very quick.
Here's the kicker: It all runs great otherwise. Games install and start up fast, at high settings image quality is superb (but slow no matter what), web browsing is quick, etc. I tried a different video card (ATI branded x1950pro instead of Diamond branded same model) and the problem persists, although Windows installed much faster.
I've tried all recent Catalyst drivers (and .net 2.0), have DirectX 9c, have the latest chipset drivers from Intel. Is the motherboard having pci-e problems? This all continues despite several clean XP installs. Also, installing .inf drivers from the MSI-included CD kills USB, although Intel's drivers online work.

Hmm I think you said that you used intel's chipset drivers?
I'm my self running e6400 with msi 965 neo-f using MSI's drivers. I also have MSI x1950pro, which is currently running on MSI's modified drivers, tho Ati's seemed to work ok too. I changed them for some no use debugging when trying to figure out my sluggis gfx (pci slot2 + Jmicron problem).
I also found out that installing MSI's usb driver, kills the usb ports. (aye I also have usb keyb & mouse). So i just hit reboot button after they were installed. Next time windows booted up usb worked. If I had know this, I would have gone power saving settings in windows, and enabled shutdown, if powerbutton is pressed. Tho Windows didn't broke because of one crash start, its used to it
If changing chipset drivers from intels to msi's don't help I dunno what to try.
Oh BIOS.
I had bios 1.5 in this board when I bought it, after that I have been updating BIOS with newest beta right after they release one. I'm now using 1.6B15, as there was some thread on forums that released 1.6 version of BIOS had some problems.
But as I said earlier, I have only encountered sluggis gfx, if I'm using some PCI card in slot2 and Jmicron is enabled. My BIOS patching is due to scsi controller problems not gfx so dunno if it will help at all.

Strange Problems With Display and Permissions Since 10.5.1 update.

Since I've done the 10.5.1 update I have been having a strange problem with my desktop and dock displays. On my desktop I have these strange lines that appear any time I log in or open any application, the lines never go away and change locations on the screen once I open an application or move a window. My dock has the reflective shelf for about half of it, the rest is a dull grey. I've also had problems with verifying and repairing my permissions. I can never actually complete either permissions task. I've used some third party apps, they always fail as well. The only time I can actually repair my permissions is by booting in to single user mode and doing a fsck -f command. When I boot back in to Leopard and try to use the Disk Utility to repair, it continues to fail.
I'm not sure if the video problem I am having stems from a permissions issue or possibly a corrupt video driver. Either way, I've done a lot research and haven't found anyone with the same problems I have been having so I thought I would give these forums a shot.
I am using a PowerMac G4 Quicksilver with dual 800Mhz, 1.5gb RAM, and a GeForce4 Ti 4600 128mb video card.

Problems with video previews: image freezes when scrubbing (CS6)

I just installed CS6 on my computer after working with CS5.5 and I encountered a strange problem with my EOS5D Mk 2 and also Ixus 100IS footage in Bridge CS6 (actually this happens with every video).
In CS5.5 I was able to preview my mov files and scrub through them without many problems (aside from a casual crash, but hey... )
In CS6 now the video preview starts and everything seems fine, until I scrub to a later point in the video. At that point the video freezes but the sound goes on. The only way to make the video run again is to click pause and then click play again. You can imagine that scrubbing through videos isn't much fun..
Has anyone ever had a problem like that with CS6?
Since CS5.5 is still installed, I checked and found out, that in Bridge CS5.5 everything is still working fine: No video freezes there - only in CS6
I already updated to the latest graphics card driver and all updates from CS6. Does anyone have an idea what I could do?
some stats about my computer:
win7 64bit
nvidia geforce GTX 590, driver 301.42
no other video software installed
Aside from that, I also realized that video quality in the preview area isn't particularly brilliant (neither in CS5.5 nor in CS6). Since the video is scaled to the preview window size, I sometimes get scaling artefacts/moirees. Is there a way to smooth the video playback, like you could in a regular video player?

Perhaps your understanding of rendering is different than mine. I think of it more as combining edits to form a new video. Are you using rendering as the same as playback? Also, not sure how you can have a system that has only CS6 files, as files are the same for CS5.5. I must be missing something here.

Believe that error is fixed as my video play OK now.

Strange problem with linking to external vob-file

I have a strange problem with linking to external vob-file. I
have created a link using BudApi:

This code opens mpg-videos correctly, but nothing happens
when I try to open vob-files with the same code. The strangest
thing is that when I change the default program for vob-files to
WinDVD this code works and the file opens, but when I change the
default program to Nero Showtime this code doesn't do anything
(when I open the file 'manually' from the folder, it opens
correctly on Nero Showtime). My client uses Nero Showtime, so I
really would appreciate any help on this one.

If you open a command prompt, do you get an association
listed like this
example for .txt files:

Some of us experienced crashes after 4.11 update. I am not sure if this is related to your case or not but downgrading some packages solves the issue.

Strange problem with Adobe Acrobat X (crash without a trace)

Hi,
I have a strange problem with Adobe Acrobat. It happens totally randomly, it leaves no signs in system logs.
What is happening: during my work Adobe Acrobat sudennly crashes. After a crash I cannot run it again - system seems to do something for a second, but then nothing happends. When i look into taks manager - there are no processes of Acrobat.exe. It just doesn't want to run. What I need to do is to reinstall whole Adobe Acrobat - which requires restart.
I've already tried to restart system after crash, it doesn't help - reinstall is required.
Sometimes everyting is fine for a 3 months, sometimes crash happens a week after the previous one. It also happens in very different situations (somtimes while opening a file, sometimes when doing something simple, sometimes in more complex tasks).
Has anyone encountered a similar problem?

The error also shows OS requirements not met.

Strange problem with Subviews on 1.0 Beta

I'm having a strange problem with SubViews on 1.0 Beta. I'm not sure If I'm being stupid and have done something wrong, or if there's a problem here.
My application is directly based on one of the examples, so the structure etc is almost identical. I've simplified the files below to avoid confusing the issue.
The default landing page (greeting.jsp) looks like this:

Interestinly, I tried adding a ${SystemStatus.system2Available} into the body text, and it was rendered as literal text (i.e. not evaluated as EL), which is very curious -- makes me wonder if the included file is included as text, rather than JSP, although the custom taglibs and <f:form> tags etc are not in the generated HTML.
If I lift all the content between the <h:form> tags (inclusive) out of sysstatus.jsp and put it in greeting.jsp in place of the <jsp:include> tag, all is well.
Any ideas? All help gratefully recieved!

Personally, I think it is a bug in the rendering model of JSF itself because if you include any non-JSF tags, they don't get rendered according to my understanding of the what the spec says (in the location the tags are written).
The only workaround that I could come up with is to use straight JSF tags in all of your layers. Things are then rendered the way that they "should" be rendered.
You could try wrapping all of your HTML tags in <f:verbatim> tags and see if that helps.

It would help to know what videos you are having trouble with? Are these from specific internet links? Are these playing back commercial DVDs? Are these videos produced by iMovie, Final Cut Pro, or iDVD of home video? Are these videos imported from an external Firewire or USB adapter such as Elgato's devices. You give us little to go on. Please give us more details what is going on?

Strange problem with the mail app on an iPad

I've got a bit of a strange problem with the mail app on an iPad - it's sending and receiving mail ok but won't let you delete mail. If you keep at it, it appears as if you have deleted mail (though takes a very long time as you just have to keep deleting it over and over again) - but the size of the app still keeps going up - reached 600mb so far, even though there is hardly any mail or attachments (goes up quite a lot each time you try to delete anything) - any idea what's causing this and how I can fix it?
It occasionally comes up with a dialogue panel saying to check my account settings, but I have checked those and they are fine. The little 'loading' icon just keeps spinning constantly too.

go to Settings > Mail > your account > Advanced > Move Discarded Messages Into
and make sure that Deleted Mailbox is ticked, and not Archive Mailbox
You can also adjust how long the deleted mail stays in the trash immediately below that.
If you are talking about a gmail account, you may also have to login to your account on the gmail server and update the settings there. This is what Barney previously posted about that:

Strange problem with ACLs

I have just migrated an oracle database from 11.1.0.7 on Win Server 2003 to 11.2 on Linux 64 bit. I am having a strange problem with ACLs - I can create the ACL but when I perform either of the following two commands:
SELECT * FROM DBA_NETWORK_ACLS
or
SELECT * FROM NET$_ACL
I get no rows returned. The ACL exists somehow because if I try and create it again I get the error that it exists. Has anyone got any advice here? Something is out of sync and I need to know how to fix it up.

Some strange problem with Flash/As3

Hi,
I am having some strange problem with my flash cs3.
Whatever script I write in as3 doesn't work, even a stop() function doesn't work . But when I change my publish setting to as2 it works fine.
Not sure about the root cause, may be some setting or preference or my cs3 is corrupted.
Can anybody please advise.

I would try in order:
- Reset the iPod:
Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Restore the iPod from backu via iTunes.
- Restore the iPod to factory defaults/new iPod.

Strange Problem with ARD 2.2 *Please Help*

Strange Problem with ARD 2.2 (2 problems)
We have a classroom lab with 14 G5 PPC's running 10.4.11 with ARD 2.2 clients installed.
We controlled all the G5's from a PPC Mac Mini running 10.4.11 with ARD 2.2, this was our Admin machine in our server room.
We then added a teachers machine in the lab, an iMac PPC running 10.4.11 and ARD 2.2 also with admin status.
Everything was working fine!
We then upgraded the iMac PPC to an iMac Intel with 10.4.11. We installed ARD 2.2 admin and did the intel intergration.
Everything worked fine.
The iMac PPC was moved to another location, ARD was removed following instructions on the Apple website telling us to delete the application then run some terminal commands to remove pref's.
Then our Intel iMac screen broke, we had the "lines" problem so bad only half the screen was visible. Long story short Apple wanted to charge us almost half the cost of the machine (no Applecare as it was a donated machine) to repair the screen!
So we moved the PPC iMac back into the lab, re-install ARD 2.2.
Now here is the problem, I can control, observe and run almost any command but cannot share with any computer!
2nd,the Mac Mini Tech computer is running fine but cannot control or observe the PPC iMac teacher machine (we were able to do this before) I can even share the Mac Mini with the iMac but cannot observe or control!!
Any ideas?

I'm not sure I understand, do you mean in System Pref's under sharing? Or is there somewhere else I need to enable to control?
Seems like a hassle to reinstall the entire OS just to fix this problem, I am able to do everything else, except observe from one admin to another, and control from 1 admin to clients.

Strange is that if I try to rebuild and deploy locally, no errors occurs and I can normally deploy and run application manually!
Does anyone have experience with this problem?

Hi Ivan
I have faced this problem earlier BUT ultimately I have to create the DC from scratch.
But you can check these things:
1.Have you copy/pasted Dictionary type from other location (check the path of the dictionary types ) --> If yes then deleted that and create again(do not use copy/paste)
2.This also happens if your "Used DC" has some problems in the JDI --> Remove the used DC and add it again.
3.Make sure the NWDI infastructure is perfect- this may be a cause.
4. Check Context mappings --> delete all mappings > save metadata > Create again.
5. Delete the model and recreate it again.
6.If you have done reimporting model make sure to restart J2EE instance.
