Strange query behavior when displayed in browser.

Hi gurus,
when I open a query in browser on one of the computers, I get no detailed cells, just the overall result.
No matter, if I open the query in Portal, or in BEx Web Analyzer.
When I use BEx Analyzer, everything seems to be fine.
When I open the same query, on the same user, but on another computer, queries are displayed properly.
Do you know what might cause the problem? Maybe some browser settings?
Regards,
Dorota

Thanks, we recently installed a new GUI version on this computer, so probably you're right

  • Strange Mail Behavior when cicking reply to

    I am having a very different but very strange behavior when in mail 5.2 I click on reply or forward in my menu bar a new mail window opens up and quickly moves off to the right of the screen and disappears laving my inbox. I cannot find where they are going and the only way I can respond is open the mail in a new window. This is weird I have been using mail forever and never seen this before?
    any suggestions???
    mac os 10.7.4
    Thanks for any suggestions

    So Mail doesn’t really crash (i.e. quit unexpectedly). Rather, it freezes (i.e. becomes unresponsive), right?
    What type of mail account is this (POP, IMAP, .Mac)?
    Verify/repair the startup disk (not just permissions), as described here:
    The Repair functions of Disk Utility: what's it all about?
    Go to Apple Menu > System Preferences > Network, choose Network Port Configurations from the Show popup menu, and make sure that the configuration used to connect to Internet appears at the top of the list.
    Try disabling Search .Mac For Certificates in Keychain Access > Preferences if it’s enabled. Take a look at the following articles for an explanation of why this could be the problem:

  • Web fonts are blurry/muddy when displaying in browser

    It seems that the CSS code that Muse generates lacks a reset or clarification of font weight, either of which would fix this problem (for example, see here: http://css-tricks.com/watch-your-font-weight/). Will this bug be fixed in future versions of Muse? I hate having to go in and fix stuff like this myself, it makes using Muse too cumbersome, as every time I make a change to the site in Muse, I then have to export the files and re-edit them by hand again.
    Thanks Muse team, not trying to be discouraging at all, and I really do think you're doing great work—we all know these things take time to perfect!

    Hi Brad,
    Thanks for your quick response! Here's section of a website I'm working on when I'm still in Muse:
    And here is that same section when displaying in Chrome (looks like this in Firefox, too):
    See how all the text looks weirdly stroked/muddy?
    Thanks again!

  • Query behavior when removing characteristic

    Hi Gurus,
    in my query I have about for example ten characteristics.
    I want for one key figure only to display the last value of the month, for example the turn over.
    It works so far when the query is opened all characteristics are displayed and the last value for turn over is displayed.
    When removing characteristics one by one, for example at the sixth characteristic, suddenly there is a summation for turn over.
    Any idea what the reason could be?
    I want for this key figure always the last value for all characteristics.
    Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

    Is it enough to make the exception aggregation on only one reference characteristic, in my case 0calmonth (I want the last value for turn over for the last month)?
    I have a restricted key figure turn over (standard aggregation).
    On this restricted key figure a formula with exception aggregation last value and reference characteristic 0calmonth.
    When all characteristics are displayed the values are correct.
    When characteristic 0calmonth is removed the values are also correct for all other remaining characteristics.
    That means that the last value for those characteristics is shown correct.
    That means for example characteristics Sales Divison (0Division) and Profit Center (0PROFIT_CTR) are showing the correct drill down (for each Profit Center which is
    available).
    For example:
    Sales Division - PCTR - Month - Turnover
    35 10 Sep2011 6160000EUR
    35 10 Oct2011 6160000EUR
    35 10 Nov2011 6160000EUR
    35 20 Sep2011 6160000EUR
    35 20 Oct2011 6160000EUR
    35 20 Nov2011 6160000EUR
    Removing 0Calmonth:
    Sales Division - PCTR - Turnover
    35 10 6160000EUR
    35 20 6160000EUR
    Removing Profit Center:
    Sales Division - Turnover
    35 12320000EUR
    It seems that removing the Profit Center characteristic makes the sum with PCTR 10 and 20 for Sales Division 35.
    But how can it be made that here also the last value 6160000EUR appear?

  • Inconsistent Behavior When Displaying Word Document

    I use the following code to display an OrdDoc object on a web page using a servlet. When the object is a Word document and it is being displayed for the first time, the Word application handles the document. The second time it is displayed, the IE browser plug-in handles the document. Can you tell me why this is so? How can I get the Word document to just display in the IE browser everytime? Image objects are consistently displayed in the browser. Thank you.
    OrdDoc ordDoc = (OrdDoc)rset.getORAData(1,(ORADataFactory)OrdDoc.getORADataFactory());
    OrdHttpResponseHandler handler = new OrdHttpResponseHandler(actionRequest.getHttpRequest(),actionRequest.getHttpResponse());
                   handler.sendDoc(ordDoc);

    The ORDDoc type will not be able to recognized the WORD document and set the mimetype attribute correctly. Thus when you populate the object you should set the mimetype attribute yourself using the setMimeType() method of ORDDoc.
    When the object is fetched and sent on by the HttpResponseHandler, the handler will use the mimetype setting to set that field in the Response header. This should help browsers to handle the content correctly.

  • Strange text behavior when exporting to pdf

    I have this problem happening all the time - am I doing something wrong or is this a gitch?
    I have a question style that shoots to the left when at the top of a page and when the frame touches the top frame guide. If I move the frame very slightly it goes back to where it belongs - however having to always move the frame that otherwise sits automatically on the page guide is really annoying and time consumming. The second ilmage shows how the line goes to the left - this happens in Indesign usually. However the captures below show another problem that happened yesterday. In this case there was a difference between the InDesign file and the pdf file.
    1st image is inDesign view
    2nd image is odf view - the pdf looks different from what we have in InDesign.
    Any reason why this would happen?

    Acrobat, and Reader, have user preferences, just like other Adobe programs, and you can turn smoothing on or off for text and lineart (this also affects "stitching" on PDFs made with flattened transparency).
    InDesign automatically tries to embed all but the most complex (read CJK) fonts when exporting, and should throw a warning, if you haven't turned it off, when it cannot embed due to font licensing restrictions (in which case I would change the font). Printing to PDF requires that font embedding be enabled in the joboptions that are used by distiller, and those options are quite flexible as far as all, none, or some (i.e. you can designate fonts to always embed or never embed).

  • No Data retrieved with AJAX Call HTMLDB_GET when using Safari Browser

    In my apex (4.0) app i have certain page a which uses JS AJAX htmldb_get to pull some data from an on-demand process using xml structure
    var get = new htmldb_Get(null, $v('pFlowId'),
    'APPLICATION_PROCESS=get_markerdata', $v('pFlowStepId'));
    if (!MEBMarkerdataXML) {// Tabelle mit Kunden leer? Dann aus DB abfragen
    MEBMarkerdataXML = get.get('XML');
    l_Count = MEBMarkerdataXML.getElementsByTagName("Kunde").length;
    I ran into a strange behavior when using Safari Browser (Mac and Windows) when opening the page.
    As long as the process retrieves less than 50 rows everything works fine. The data is pulled from the OnDemand Process and delivered to the browser; the XML Data can be selected in JS for further processing

    I googled a lot of different Sources, it seems to be a Timeout Problem when making a long runing AJAX Call. But i did not find any useful hint.
    Any Ideas from the APEX & HTTP Gurus?
    Regards
    Peter

    It's just that in my experience htmldb_Get.get() is troublesome for browsers, due to the fact it performs a synchronous request. The browser can do nothing else while it waits for the response. I've seen Firefox really struggle with it in the past couple years. Also, I've seen no good reason to use synchronous XMLHttpRequest calls. As you can see, it's simple to refactor a call to htmldb_Get.get() into a call to htmldb_Get.GetAsync().
    For your case in particular, I was just guessing Safari have implemented a timeout to ensure that they don't end up waiting indefinitely for a request that never returns as this would be fatal. You're probably hitting that timeout.
    I don't think htmldb_Get is officially documented anywhere, but you can find the source here... http://apex.oracle.com/i/javascript/uncompressed/apex_4_0.js
    There is also a pure jQuery way to perform AJAX request, I recommend using this because at least it's documented. Here's a snippet of a typical APEX AJAX request done the jQuery way:
    apex.jQuery.ajax({
      dataType: "xml", //supports text, xml, json, jsonp, script, or html
      type: "post",
      url: "wwv_flow.show",
      traditional: true,
      data: {
        p_request: "APPLICATION_PROCESS=get_markerdata",
        p_flow_id: $("#pFlowId").val(),
        p_flow_step_id: $("#pFlowStepId").val(),
        p_instance: $("#pInstance").val()
      success: function (data, textStatus, jqXHR) {
        // Do your thing in here
      error: function (xhr, ajaxOptions, thrownError) {
        // Handle error in here
    });Then you can refer to great documentation here... http://api.jquery.com/jQuery.ajax/

  • Strange XSLT Behavior: xsl:template match

    Hello I found the following strange XSLT behavior when using xsl:template. I only want to read the content of the element /Source/Surname/Details. Therefore I match this path using xsl:template match.
    What is strange that in the target message also the value of the Element LastName is written at the end. Please see example below. This is just a short example to point out the problem. I have a bigger message structure where I have to match a similar path. How can I avoid the the value of the FullDetails is just written at the end (not even beeing in an element)? I would have expected that the path is only matched once and the instructions then executed without <LastName> beeing even touched.I used XML Spy for this test.
    Here is an example:

    <Source>
         <Surname>

         <LastName>

  • CrystalRpts - Excel Data source, SQLServer2005 table. SQL Query behavior?

    Greetings - What should be a simple report (with Excel 2007 spreadsheet as primary data source linking to a SQLServer 2005 table ) returns incorrect results.  Query designed to select data from SQL Table with  'DATES >=' certain date, but data returned ignores the DATE qualifier.
    Running DATE query manually against the SQL Table proves the data is correct.
    Anyone notice problems with SQL Query behavior when mixing data sources?  Thanks.

    Hello,
    Take the SQL that works outside of CR and then create a new report and add all data sources. Now use a Command Object and paste in your SQL. YOu may have to play with adding each data source in a different order. If that works great if not you'll have to figure out a way to get all the data into one source.
    I believe MS SQL Server can link multiple data sources and types. Check SQL Help file for more info it it is possible.
    Thank you
    Don

  • Strange behavior when performing query

    Hi all,
    I'm getting some odd behavior when doing different kinds of queries and am hoping someone here can help out. I have a database with continuously updated PDML data (http://www.nbee.org/doku.php?id=netpdl:pdml_specification). I am opening anf querying the database from a seperate application. This appears to work fine for certain types of queries, and fails for other types with error messages that don't seem relevant. Specifically, some queries that use the attribute axis as the last leaf seem to get fouled up. Here are some example queries and the results I get:
    First some queries that work:
    Query: "string(collection()[1]/packet[1]/proto[1]/field[1]/@size)"
    Result:
    A valid number
    Query: "collection()//proto[@name='geninfo']/field[@name='len']"
    Result:
    <field name="len" pos="0" show="64" showname="Packet Length" value="40" size="64"/>
    <field name="len" pos="0" show="64" showname="Packet Length" value="40" size="64"/>
    <field name="len" pos="0" show="64" showname="Packet Length" value="40" size="64"/>
    Now some queries that don't work:
    Query: "collection()//packet/proto/field/@size"
    Result:
    Output to stdout - "Transaction specified for a non-transactional database"
    and an Exception with message - "Error: Invalid argument"
    Query: "collection()//proto[@name='geninfo']/field[@name='len']/@name" (notice it's almost identical to above working query except with @name)
    Result:
    Same as above, an stdout about transactions and an exception about invalid arguments
    What I find most interesting is that both errors (the one printed to stdout and the one I get in my exception) don't seem to have anything to do with the problem. I know the transactional stuff isn't messed up because the exact same code works for certain queries. I'm not sure about the "Error: Invalid argument" exception, but it's not very helpful by itself. I'm using the Java library and DBXML version 2.4.16. Anyone have any ideas what's going on?
    Thanks,
    Dave

    As a follow-up, it appears that I just needed to wrap my attributes in the XPath string() function. For example "collection()//packet/proto/field/@size" does not work while "collection()//packet/proto/field/string(@size)" works fine.
    I'm still not sure why it's spitting out an error message to stdout about transactions not being enabled when the only real error is with the query, but at least it's working now.

  • When using private browsing to view image results in Safari 5.1.3, only the first two rows of results are visible, the following four or so rows display greyed out place holders, and the safe search button is inoperable. Suggestions?

    When using private browsing to view image results in Safari 5.1.3, only the first two rows of results are visible, the following four or so rows display greyed out place holders, the remainder of the results page is blank, and the safe search button is inoperable. When I turn off private browsing and refresh the page, everything works again.
    Anyone else having this problem?

    I have got the same behaviour after the last Safari Update to 5.1.3. It seems that Safari now handles some scripts in a new way. If you debug the Google Website, you will see, that there is some Javascript Error, that seems to prevent to write into local cache. After some searching I wasn't able to finde a solution for this problem, other then disabling Javascript while private browsing to prevent the script loading. You then are able to use Google with the old layout. The option to disable JavaScript can be found in the Menu "Developer", wich has to be enabled in Safari in the options first.
    In my opinion this is a bug that is now occuring, because Apple changed something in private browsing and that has to be fixed by Google now, to run again. Or we will have to wait for 5.1.4, as you can read online Apple will change and bugfix the javascript engine in that version, perhaps this fixes the problem as well. I hope so!
    If anyone is in the developer program perhaps you could test this with the beta of 5.1.4 and tell us if it works.

  • Cannot Preview when Display PDF in Browser is unchecked

    Acrobat Professional 7.0 under Internet in Preferences, when Display in PDF browser is unchecked and then I am in LiveCycle Designer 7.0, the PDF Preview option is not available and the tab is missing. I have already done the Detect & Repair to no avail. Does anyone have a solution other than checking/unchecking? Thx in advance.

    It was originally checked. I went in and unckd it & that's when the PDF tab disappeared. That is what is causing this whole thing. We have dozens of PDF files on Sharepoint & I work with that a lot. Due to needing to keep that main Sharepoint page open, that's why I chgd to not having PDF's open in the IE window. So at this point, it's a matter of keeping Acrobat open while working on the forms. Unless there's another way around. If not, I can live with that. The checking and unchecking was very time consuming.
