Strange questions

Question #1:
When I boot I keep getting the following message:
"FireVault secures the data on your disk by encrypting its contents automatically.
WARNING: You will need your login password or a recovery key to access your data, etc.
You can turn it on in preferences>Security>FireVault.
FireVault is turned off for the disk Macintosh HD”
This hasn’t happened in the 7 years I own the computer.
I began happening right after Intuit took some viruses off my computer.
Should I continue to check yes, check no, or turn it on?
Something about event manager and applications not working correctly.
My Fire Wall is turned on.
Is there any harm in turning it on?
If I turn it on it generates a recovery key which I’m to keep to access my data.
Does this mean I can’t just use my password?
Question #2:
I Preferences>Security>Privacy>Enable Location Services, there appears a window showing that “Maps.app” has requested my location within the last 24 hours.
I don’t understand what this means.
I tried to delete it, but its non responsive, I can’t highlight or uncheck it.
Any advice as what I should do?

Regarding question 1, there seem to be 10 or 15 questions there. But you're asking about FileVault (not FireVault). So here's a writeup about FileVault:

Regarding question 2, you cannot delete an informative message. It means when you used your Maps app, possibly because you clicked on the arrow in the upper left corner, Maps tried to learn your position.

Strange Question on Time Series Function

Hi All,
I find a strange question when i use time series function. The result of report like this:
-----year area revenue year_ago_revenue
1、 2009 a 100
2、 2009 b 100
3、 2010 a 200
4、 2010 b 200 100
the last column's value of row 3 is null, but it must be 100, I execute the physical sql in log file in database, the result is 100, but show null in report, why? I really can't understand. Any one know why? Thanks.

For the report which is working correct, what level of information you are seeing? In that report whether the Year Ago is working correctly.
In time hierarchy, how did you set the chronological keys?

Help! Has anyone ever seen a strange question mark in their folders?

please help, for some reason there is a strange question mark on the top bar of every folder that i open, to the left of the search box. It's quite large and slightly darker than the folder window color around the edge, and when I click it it pops up a new window that says item cannot be found. It has never been there before, what is it and where did it come from, is this a virus? S.O.S.

Control-click on it and choose Remove Item from the menu which appears. The Finder toolbar allows files and folders to be dropped into it; when the Finder can't find one of these, it displays the question mark icon. It is not a virus.

Alert(limits) - Strange Question

I have a strange question:
var chr = new Array(10000);
alert(chr.join("a"));
Works, it prints 10000 a's across my screen. Great.
However if I make the array larger, say 10 times more, it displays blank.
Why?

Strange question about GRUB2

I have a strange question:
What else can be added into GRUB loading menu? Like memtest86+ ?

Strange question mark error while opening pdf files in adobereader from SAP

Hi Gurus
We are having a strange intermittent problem with Adobe Reader. When we try to open PDF files from SAP Frontend we get an error pop-up. The pop-up does not have any text. The title of the pop-up has "Adobe Reader". There is a blue question mark and an OK button.
This issue occurs few times a day
This issue does not occur in Windows XP.
Since past few weeks, we have been trying to find some error/warning/atleast some text in log files of SAP, OS, Adobe Reader, Registry entries, Event Viewer. So far, we have not found anything.
SAP is not able to help as this issue occurs intermittently and said when they tried, the issue did not occur. They made two attempts and in each attempt they tried 10 times to reproduce the issue. This issue occurs intermittently.
Environment
SAP R/3 4.7 EE SAP_Basis 620 Support Package 61
Windows Vista Enterprise
Adobe Reader 9.0 and Adobe Reader 9.1 (tried with both versions)
SAPGUI 710 Patch 12 (latest patch). It also occured in Patch 11.

We tried many notes from Service Market Place. Also, Windows Team is in contact with Adobe.
As per Adobe's suggestions, we tried changing preferences of Adobe Reader. We think it might be a problem with SAP Frontend.
Present status - Issue still exists. nothing works.

Bit of a strange question regarding security and internet connection

This is a bit of an odd question so bear with me for a moment.
I sold my old G4 to someone I didn't know yesterday. While he was looking at it to make sure it was working I allowed him to plug my ethernet cable in (connected to both a netgear router and a cable modem) and go online to install an application on the computer he was buying. It did't take long and I didn't actually see what he installed but after he left and I plugged back in to my mac pro, my internet connection started suffering. It started by being very slow and then timing out with servers. I reset the modem and even bypassed the router but the connection did not improve and eventually I could only get a self assigned IP address with no internet, although the modem appeared to be fine.
Aside from finding my I.P. address at my location, is there anything else he could have compomised security wise, either in the name of harvesting some kind of info or just creating a problem in the cable network when I let him use my connection on the g4?
I think that most likely I'm being a little paranoid but the timing of this is a bit strange. It literally went down hill just after he left.
Today the cable company is reporting a wider internet outage than just me but I just though I'd throw it out there to see if there are any security wholes exploitable when someone uses your internet connection (I would think and hope that there are not).

Well, in the closing the stable door approach it is a good idea to do a complete erase and install when selling any computer. There's lots of references to this and even one about removing a certain file so when they start up they get the brand new Mac greeting window. If you do not erase the drive using the secure erase feature in Disk Utility then with an $80 investment plus an empty spare drive the purchaser can likely recover any files you had on the computer recently if they consider it worth the effort.
I suspect the internet issue is not related to this, especially since your ISP commented about problems.

Strange question re stolen mac and App store log-in

I was unfortunate to have my macbook pro stolen a couple of months ago. It disn't have a login screen so anybody could use it without wiping anything etc [yeah, I know]
Anyway, I hardly ever used App store as I was experiencing a bug.... I couldn't launch it or update my software because of Network connection errors.... I subsequently found this was due to Little Snitch. When I successfully launched the App app today I noticed a strange email address in the Apple ID box that I had never seen before and Spotlight couldn't find in any variation or form. This was on my iMac which only I have ever had access to. I should stress that I only ever used the App store a couple of times under Snow Leopard about a month before my macbook was stolen and couldn't use it all once I upgraded to Lion due to the Little Snitch issue. My macbook was Snow Leopard.
I've been using macs since the Classic and regard myself a semi-pro user and I've never seen anything like this before.
What would be the odds of asking Apple to check this email addess as it seems to ba an Apple ID and matching against the stolen macs serial number?
..... as I said, no one has access to my iMac and this adress was the default when I tried to log in to the App store for the first time [about 3rd time ever] today.

A strange question in me32.

when change the contract confirm quantity use me32,we cann't change the quantity less then price unit,if i do it ,the confirm quantity auto change to price unit's quantity,when trace the code ,we find this code,
H-MENGE = EKPO-PEINH * EKPO-BPUMN * 1000.
but EKPO-PEINH = 1000,EKPO-BPUMN =1,and the result of H-MENGE is still 1000,why?H-MENGE is a field of a inner table,this is different from common field defining.is there any special?

This is a strange question but......

I am in a band called Sound Station (www.soundstationhome.com). We have a new CD that we want to call iPodable.... the question is, will Apple not like that??
We don't want to get sued or get Apple mad at us.
I thought that it would be okay because we're actually advirtising the iPod. But some band members are a bit skittish after reading about Apple going after some people for useing the "i" in their products.
What is everybodies opinion??

Personally, I doubt it. Apple is very protective of it's trademarks. Since the title is making a direct reference to "iPod" it can be seen as infringement. I would bet that apple owns the usage rights to that word anyway.
Still. Contact Apple's PR department. Who knows.

It is made up xml menu and external video(flv) and exteral swf. video and swf to play when menu is clicked
but when only I run swf is published.video and swf don't appear.

I can try to help you here, but you will need to answer questions. If you cannot understand what I am asking, find someone to explain it to you.
Is your swf file in a different folder than your html file? If so, where is the xml file located relative to the html file's folder, and what code do you use to try to load it in the swf file?
Another thing to try, put the xml file in the same folder as the html file and see if that helps.

Sharing -my iPhone 5 was recovered after 6 months! And one strange question

Just wanted to share with everyone that my iPhone 5 was recovered 6 months after it was stolen, thanks to both FindMyiPhone and a company called ecoATM. It was stolen from my car on 03/05/14. someone (who says that they bought from a friend, didn't steal it) put it in a kiosk at my local mall in GA and got money for it - he also had to provide a photo ID and thumbprint when he made the transaction.... The company ecoATM notified me on 08/12/14 that the phone was at their processing center in California. They communicated with local law enforcement and not only returned my phone to me, but made an arrest. I gave up hope long ago. I had been using an older phone I had and was waiting for upgrade time.
Strange thing though, when I restored it, my Phone number is showing up incorrectly. I don't know how anyone would have used it with activation lock on. But a little rock number is showing up. Do you think that is just because perhaps it was sold to someone in that area and they tried to activate?

My guess would be that they put a different sim card in it and that you could resolve that by taking it into your cellular provider and have them put in a new sim card.

Safari - strange question marks

Hi I've got Safari 6.0.1 and Mountain Lion. Just recently, when I search a video on youtube, it crashes,, and these question marks appear. I've already tried uninstalling flash and then reinstalling. I disabled the HTML 5 beta, yet nothing works. Any help would be appreciated!

There is not an easy answer to this.
A) In simplest terms, Oracle9i is an upgrade. Virtually anything that worked in Oracle8i will continue to work in Oracle9i.
B) In more technical terms, Oracle started making significant improvements in DBA automation. The Enterprise Manager become quite significantly more useable. Rollback management became automated and is known as Undo Management. And so on.
You need to look at the 'New Features' documentation to appreciate the majority of the differences. See http://docs.oracle.com or http//tahiiti.oracle.com and search for the Oracle9i documentation set. Then look for the New Features doc.
C) In business terms, the difference is that Oracle8i is no longer supported by Oracle. Oracle8i therefore no longer makes sense as a business platform.

Your problem is that you are not using the object you have created. The statement:
T t = new T();Creates a new instance object of the type T. Having created this object I assume that you want to call the methods attached to this object. To do that you have to add at the beginning of any method call the name of the object and a dot eg.
do_a();//This accesses the method from a static context
t.do_a();//This will access the method and increment the variables contained within the instance tHowever even if you are accessing this object from a static context then the value iNum is still incremented. But you will need to add the keyword static to the method declarations of do_a() and do_b() so that they can be run from main().
