Strange readings on alternative log in for usage m...

Has anyone else using the alternative log in to view the broadband usage monitor when on unlimited usage noticed excessive usage displayed for the last 2 days...
Every thing this month was my normal usage until 18/11/14
18/11 I am supposed to have used 1.54 Gb in 1 day.
19/11 I am supposed to have used 3.03 Gb in 1 day.
I have used none of the high usage programmes eg. iplayer, skype, or downloaded films. Just generally surfed the internet.
I know that I don't have to worry that I will be charged, but just thought it very odd..

My usage has been as expected and currently the month to date ties in exactly with what Networx shows - earlier on in the month the usage monitor exceeded Networx by 1.5Gb on a total of 12Gb. This indicates that the BT monitor isn't perfect despite official sources saying there are no problems with it.

As far as I know, we need to use the public APIs of CS_CTR_CAPTURE_READING_PUB in the following sequence:
CS_CTR_CAPTURE_READING_PUB.PRE_CAPTURE_COUNTER_READING--retrieve the counter_group_log_id and pass it to the next api
CS_CTR_CAPTURE_READING_PUB.CAPTURE_COUNTER_READING and then call the API
CS_CTR_CAPTURE_READING_PUB.POST_CAPTURE_COUNTER_READING.
Has anyone used the API CS_CTR_CAPTURE_READING_PUB.PRE_CAPTURE_COUNTER_READING?
I want to know what values are passed into the record type CTR_GRP_LOG_Rec_Type.
Can anyone tell me what has to be passed, please?

How to increase log level for SUNW.oracle_listener resource type

I understand that i can increase logging level for a resource with "clrs set -p "Debug_level=$LEVEL", but the SUNW.oracle_listener resource type doesn't seem to have this property. Is there some other way of increasing log data to debug an issue with a listener resource? I ask because we have a strange situation where our database listener is being restarted every once in a while. With the log data I have, it appears that the listener is being stopped or dies, and then the monitor restarts it when it detects the fault, however our DBA's believe that it is the cluster that is actually the one cycling it because the monitor fails or is unable to connect because it is too busy to respond in time or something along those lines.
Maybe I am incorrect and it is the cluster, but I'd expect to see something before a "Attempting to restart listener" log entry, something along the lines of the monitor failing or a "no response in given time" before the resource says it is restarting.
Here are the logs from when this first happens, if anyone can advise, I would really appreciate it.

Thanks for the reply Thorsten. The logs I included in the original post are actually from /var/opt/SUNWscor/oracle_listener/messages_log.$RESOURCE. I'd like to bump up the verbosity on the oracle_listener logs like I can with the oracle_server logs, but for whatever reason there is no debug_level parameter for the oracle_listener resource type. Sounds like I may be SOL, but thought I'd check with the forum and verify.

Strange lines in messages.log

we have RAC installation with two nodes. On both of them is some strange message in /var/log/messages.log written twice per second. Because of this messages.log is growing in size very fast.
I'm totally confused which process is responsible using sudo and generating such records.

unfortunately I can't stop the whole database just because of this "little" problem. And don't even know if it really helps. Now I'm installing the same SW on VMWare server. Hope, that it will help me reproduce this problem and then I can try this patch.

How do I configure Log4J to log separately for each web application? i.e. Assuming, I have a web application "AWeb" and a web application "BWeb". I need a log file to be created for AWeb Separately and BWeb Separately. i.e. All the log information for "AWeb" web application will be stored in AWeb.log and all the "BWeb" web application will be stored in BWeb.log
Do you have any sample code and configuration details for the above-mentioned requirement?

You do not need to do anything strange, just use log4j the usual way with the exception that you do not need to init log4j (this is not necesary when using a log4j.xml.)
A minimal sample of a log4j.xml is

You just have to be sure that you have different log4j.xml in your classpath for different web applications.

Bizzare error message requests me "Select a log file" for .vi

Hi
I am getting a very strange pop-up with my vi that requests me to select a log file for the VI.
If I hit cancel I get the pop-up "Cannot log front panel of vi. there is no log file associated with the vi"
I don't want a log file.
There must be some background setting in the VI that is not in the actually Lab-VIEW code.
Does anybody know how I can switch this off?

Off the top of my head I can only think of one setting that may cause this. You can set a VI to log its front panel data automatically. Go to Operate>>Data Logging and check the settings there. Also look at Operate>>Log at Completion.
It may also be that you have this set on a subVI, and if so you will see a yellow "halo" around one of your subVIs, meaning you have turned on database access. You can look in the help for Logging Data>> On the front panel that discusses this behavior.
If you wrote the VIs and have no idea what I am talking about with the Database Access that is fine, it is not a commonly used feature.
If none of these help can you attach the VI so we can all see it.

Must user be logged in for an iCal event to trigger?

I wrote a simple apple script to record an internet radio show that I didn't want to miss. I set up an iCal alarm to run this script. That worked.
I logged out of the account and into a different one. At the next alarm time, this script didn't run.
Does the user need to be logged in for an alarm to trigger? Do I need to resort to cron instead?

iCal like Mail, iChat, iPhoto, iDVD, etc etc etc all run as a user specific instance. The applications only run when the user account is open.
If you know how to write systemwide cron jobs that would be an alternative.

Editing logging details for notifications from Facebook

Does anyone know if it's possible to change/edit the logging details for the notification from Facebook (well in fact for that matter for anything else too).
When I logged them in for the first time I didn't realise I was logged in on facebook with wife's page and now I seem to be getting her notifications instead of mine.

I am having this issue too! Just posted a question regarding this.
I own a 5C and spent hours on the phone to tech support who also contacted Apple but they say it's a Facebook issue and was told to contact them direct.
Facebook do not respond to individuals so I'm concerned that we are not going to get a solution. Apple don't seem bothered!

I need the Log Report for the Data which i am uploading from SAP R/3.
I extract the DATA from R/3 into BI 7.0 DSO where I am mapping the GL Accounts with the FS Item. In the Transformation i have return a routine on the FS Item InfObject . I am checking the Gl code into Z table for the FS Item .
I capture the FS item from the Z table then update this FS item to Infobject FS item.
Now i need to stop the Data upload if i do not find the GL code in the Z table, and generate report for all GL code for which the FS item is not maintained in the Z table.
Please suggest.

Hi.
Add a field that you will use to identify if the GL account of the record was found in the Z table or not. Fx, create ZFOUND with length 1 and no text.
In your routine, when you do the lookup, populate ZFOUND with X when you found a match (sy-subrc = 0) and leave it blank if you don't find a match. Now create a report filtering on ZFOUND = <blank> and output the GL accounts. Those will be the ones not existing in the Z table, but coming in from your transactions.

OUtlook was already set as the mail client for FF, and is my operating system (XP)'s default mail programme. therefore problem not solved at all. what I get whenever I follow a link in a webpage to send an e-mail is a little pop up window asking me to sign in to gmail or open an account. any other suggestions?

there are some korean websites that I used to go
frequently with my PC....
they work with the web browsers I have...
and yet,I cannot log in for some reason...

Here is another similar problem altho unfortunately not an answer to the first problem.. When I try to open the Palm Inc. website, the various parts of the site seem to overlay earch other. It's as if the page were cut up and dropped onto my screen, with some areas not readable or partially visible, and usually all the blanks to fill in are covered. I have tried to log into their discussion group but when I try to activate my account. I find the Continue button is covered by the site's various tabs. An email to Palm has resulted in no answer yet, but I'm hoping someone here has had a similar problem. This has happened on only one or two other websites and I can't remember which ones.
By the way, I am using the Explorer 5.3 browser which comes with my bellsouth.net email program. Besides the loyalty to Mac, should I switch over to using Safari? I see a number of problems using it, like not being able to log into bank chsecking account websites.

I've got a error msg when try to generate a report using Cisco history report tool:
Error | An Exceptional Error occurred. Application exiting. Check the log file for error 5022
It only happens when choose report template: ICD_Contact_Service_Queue_Activity_by_CSQ_en_us.
User tried samething on other PC, it working fine.
only on user' own PC and only choose this report, error appears.
user runing windows 7 and do not have crystal report installed
tried reinstalled the software, doesn't work.

I have completely uninstalled the HRC, and download from server install again -- still doesn't work with exactly same error.
this matter only happens on this PC, when user try same thing on other PC, it works.

Single log in for multiple apex application in same workspace

hi forum.
We created 5 applications based on same schema and all in one workspace now. Actually, initially they were created on different machines. now, we have to authenticate users from AD and depending on user type, have to allow or deny some modules. i have created one pager application which have 5 buttons and can control rendering of buttons according to user logged in but...the problem is, inside the applications, i have restrictions on some reports for some users...now one way was to do that is to create a log in for every application separately and thus every application would exactly know who is logged in. but that would be impractical as we need single-sign-on kind of functionality.
please let me know how to have a single log in page work for all application inside the apex workspace so that every application would know name of the user currently logged in.
for the 5 applications, i actually use No_Authentication authentication scheme. and i use following function initially for my one pager application to render the buttons to user or deny

You can create one application that does the login authentication according to your authentication scheme. When authenticated, this login app sets a cookie. That's all the login app does (and maybe show a list of available apps to choose from).
The other apps have an even simpler authentication scheme. The only thing they have to do is check the cookie and redirect to the login page (Session Not Valid URL) if there is no valid cookie.

I am getting an error message "All available connections to database server are in use by other client machines. Please try again later and check the log file for error 5054" when trying to log into HRC (This user has the reporting capabilities) . I checked the log files this is what i found out
The log file stated that there were ongoing connections of HRC with the CCX (I am sure there isn't any active login to HRC)
|| When you tried to login the following error was being displayed because the maximum number of connections were reached for the server . We can see that a total number of 5 connections have been configured . ||

What is the OS version of the PC you are running and is it physical machine or virtual machine that is running the HRC client ..
OS Version Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit and it’s a physical machine.
. The Max DB Connections for Report Client Sessions is set to 5 for each servers (There are two servers). The no of HR Sessions is set to 10.
I wanted to know if there is a way to find the HRC sessions active now and terminate the one or more or all of that sessions from the server end ?

We have had this "PRX5" problem with Exchange 2013 since the RTM version. We recently applied CU3, and it did not correct the problem. We have seen this problem on every Exchange 2013 we manage. They are all installations where all roles
are installed on the same Windows server, and in our case, they are all Windows virtual machines using Windows 2012 Hyper-V.
We have tried all the "this fixed it for me" solutions regarding DNS, network cards, host file entries and so forth. None of those "solutions" made any difference whatsoever. The occurrence of the temporary error PRX5 seems totally random.
About 2 out of 20 incoming mail test by Microsoft Connectivity Analyzer fail with this PRX5 error.
Most people don't ever notice the issue because remote mail servers retry the connection later. However, telephone voice mail systems that forward voice message files to email, or other such applications such as your scanner, often don't retry and
simply fail. Our phone system actually disables all further attempts to send voice mail to a particular user if the PRX5 error is returned when the email is sent by the phone system.
Is Microsoft totally oblivious to this problem?
PRX5 is a serious issue that needs an Exchange team resolution, or at least an acknowledgement that the problem actually does exist and has negative consequences for proper mail flow.
