Strange report problem
When creating a report in Apex 3.1 I have been getting an error intermittently saying
"ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small" when I click next after the query builder.
BUT..
If I click on "Create Now" it works. The report runs just fine.. A bug perhaps?

I am having the same error when I do create a SQL report region and my query is quite big.
The error seems to disappear if I reduce the size of my query (that is if I reduce the number of characters by removing some lines), but of course that's not a nice workaround.

We are facing a rather strange problem with the latest kernel patch on Solaris 9. (Generic_112233-08). We had not faced this problem with any of the other kernel patches of Solaris 9.
Our application has a main thread and a single child thread (pthread). The main thread schedules aio_writes() on the raw disk interface and lets the child thread block on sigwaitinfo() to listen to the signal completion notification. This is communicated to it via the SI_ASYNCIO code of SIGPOLL. The child thread then informs the main thread by writing to a bi-directional pipe. Since the main thread has registered for read interest on the bi-directional pipe (via /dev/poll) it is informed of the completion of the aio_write() without having to block itself. Under normal circumstances, the child thread receives SIGPOLL with SI_ASYNCIO code.
This application has been running fine on all the previous builds of Solaris (Generic, Generic_112233-04, Generic_112233-06) on sparc platform expect with the latest kernel patch. The child thread now keeps receiving SIGPOLL with SI_NOINFO code. There has been no change in our application and we are perplexed to the reason of this behaviour. Since it is SI_NOINFO there is not much debugging information we can get.
We have been able to replicate this behaviour using a small stand-alone program. We are attaching it at the end of the email. We tried this program on a couple of different Sparc systems and were able to reproduce this behaviour on one of them but not on the other.
Has anybody faced problems with regard to SIGPOLL in the latest kernel patch of Solaris 9 for sparc systems ?

Strange math-problem with LabVIEW 7.1

I am using LabVIEW 7.1 and I came to this strange math-problem. Could it be that it is a problem of LabVIEW 7.1?
Ok try this with LabVIEW 7.1:
open a new VI
place a subtract-VI (pallet numerical) on the block diagram and try to subtract 0.2 from 1.6
place a less-VI (pallet compare) on the block diagram and wire a numerical constant 1.4 to input x
wire the result of the subtraction to input y of the comparison
place an LED to the output of the comparison
and start this.
What does it say?
The LED should turn on and this means here that 1.4 would be less than 1.4 .
But I would have expected that 1.4 is not less than 1.4 .
This works also if you add or subtract upto 0.2 to/from the values 1.4 and 1.6 (or equivalent with 0.2) .
If you change the inputs of the comparison then the result is as expected and 1.4 is reported not to be less than 1.4 .
If you compare two constants with the same value 1.4 you will not get the same strange result.
Does anybody have an explanation for this?

For floating point math: Rounding to multiples of 0.1 is problematic as
those numbers are infinite fractions in base2 representation...
So maybe you should change your numbers to integers using fixed point math. If all your input values are in the range of 1.4 to 1.8 you can multiply by 10000 and round to next integer. Then do your comparison on that integer (there's also an 'InRange' function in the comparison palette).

Strange wifi problem on a brand-new MacBook Pro
Hey there, I'm new here. Desperation has got the better of me, and I hope I can get some advice.
So, last sunday I bought a brand new 13" MacBookPro with 2.8g i7 processor and 10.7.2 OS (I can't update to 10.7.4 because System Update tells me the download has been tampered with or corrupted after I waited 2 hours for it to finish, but I'm trying a direct download from the website). Everything is all perfect except for a strange wifi problem. Note that the wifi does not turn-on or off, it doesn't disconnect after 'sleep', it doesn't get less speed, it doesn't constantly leave a preferred connection (once I chose my home wifi it always connects to it no problem). The wifi bar is always full. What is wrong is that the internet is kinda 'glitchy'. The best metaphor I can think of is that it's like a car that has to be pushed down the road before the engine can start. Please, bear with me because this is kinda hard to explain and I'm not good at tech lingos.
One of the symptoms is browsing can get really slow and inconsistent, almost as if the wifi gets turned off in the middle of browsing. For example: if I look something up on Google and then open 5 new tabs, probably only 2 or 3 of those tabs will eventually load while the other two will not get past the long 'http:.......google.....etc etc' address and will eventually show one of those 'error loading page because there's no Internet connection' notice. This happens a lot. Sometimes I have to refresh/retry loading a page a couple of times before it finally loads, then usually everything will get back to normal and I will be able to open multiple tabs with no problem, but in a couple of minutes I would try to open another site and the problem will start again.
So I tried to see how it does with downloading using iGetter. Fortunately I also have a Macbook (white-plastic casing one) and my brother has an old 2006 MacbookPro so I can compare. With those two older Apples iGetter starts receiving data in less than 8 seconds after I click Start, while my brand-new Macbook Pro can take up to 15-20 seconds, sometimes it doesn't even start at all and I have to re-click the start button. But once the download actually starts (on my new MacBook Pro), it downloads like normal, it doesn't stop and the speed is also as good as I can get. Strange huh? Hence, like a car that has to be pushed before the engine starts.
I also tried 'speed testing' from a website with all 3 laptops. On my old MacBook and my brother's MacBook pro, once I click 'begin test' it takes only a couple of seconds of 'ping' before the download/upload speed measurements start, but with my new MacBook Pro (just like with iGetter) it takes up to almost a minute before the measurements start, sometimes it won't start at all and I have to re-start the test.
Well, thanks for reading. And hope you can help me shed some light into this. Because it is really preventing me from really enjoying my new MacBook Pro. And if this is most likely a hardware problem, I'd better get back to the store and try to get it replace or something while it's only been 5 days. *cheers*Hey guys.. Thanks for the replies. Unfortunately, I bought the MacBook in Indonesia where there are no such thing as an AppleCare. The only option is to leave the Apple product to one of the 'Authorized Apple care centre' and have whoever do whatever to it without guarantee of success. As for returning it and getting a brand new one, I also don't know if there is such a deal here, but that's actually a good idea, will try to go to the store tomorrow. Although, I'm worried that the problem might be with OSX Lion or something and getting a new one won't help.
mark75090, I've tried resetting the router when I first noticed te problem, didn't work though. I've checked my new MacBook's wi-fi (option+click wifi bar) and it says 'PHY Mode: 802.11g', so does my MacBook and the old MacBook Pro. I don't know what those mean though, and I don't know whether or not my router is an N., can you tell me more please.. I have tried with the other two turned off, and only the new MacBook using the wi-fi but the problem persists. I have also tried connecting directly to the router, but as I described, the problem is too subtle for me to notice the difference.
Also, if I create a brand new Wi-Fi connection in network preferences and connect to my router through the new Wi-Fi profile, the problem seems to be gone for an hour or so, then it always comes back though. I have also just finally installed 10.7.4, but it doesn't help either. -
Report problem directly in iTunes has been disabled?
I had understood that it was possible to report a problem on a purchase directly from within iTunes, by going to my account, history then selcting the ourchase that had the problem.
However the "Report a Problem"link now just boots me off to the Apple website, the previous button to describe the problem and submit no longer appears.
Does anyone know if this has been disabled?

but this immediately redirects to:
"http://www.apple.com/uk/support/itunes/#video_purchases"
which is actually just the opening page of the iTunes support page in the apple webpages, ie totally useless.
I am guessing they are overwhelmed by reported problems and are just opting out of having to deal with them. Reminds me of the dear old days of Microsoft hiding from problems.

Report problem link opens up word (pc)
When I click on report problem link in purchase history for an app, all it brings up word. Don't have email receipt yet and itunes support is useless. it's like trying to find a needle in a haystack.
Click the "contact support" link toward the lower-left of that page and follow the instructions.

I have a vary big problem with crystal report XI edition, I am
unable to find the cause of the problem actually.
I am using Crystal Report XI Developer version to build
reports in my development system, which I am, using SQL server 2005 as a
backend database and u201CUn-Typedu201D Pull
model for generate reports, in that my system those are working very good.
For distribute those reports to the other clients, I was
prepared one small windows application in .net and I placed one shared
directory. Application will show all report files placed under the shared
directory by the user selection.
If User selects one report, I am taking the selected report
from the shared directory and open with the .net embedded crystal report
viewer, while opening I was filling the
server login information(By code itself).
Any way application also working very well in my development
system, for deploys this application I added crystal report redist package that
is came with the visual studio 2008.
When I run the same application, in deployed
system, it showing login database dialog with empty database name, and one more
thing is that database text box also showing like disable. So even I unable to
give database credential with in dialog. I donu2019t understood what is the cause
of the problem?
Almost same problem was happen before 4 months back for some
other project, @ that time I rebuild my report with the PUSh model, and it
working well. But this case, I donu2019t have a chance to do like that, because daily
I should generate some kind of reports, needs of management. That management
staff will check reports from with that my distributed application. For these
all things, I canu2019t rebuild and redistribute my application every time if I add
new report. So that I placed one shared folder and, I keep update all changed
reports files in that shared folder, my application will show them.
What is the cause of the problem?
Is it problem with connection? Then it should not work with
in my development system also
Then it probably problem with the deployment? Then I am able
to view the initial report, problem came only when I refresh the data?
If problems with deployment, then how it is works for push type reports, it giving problem
for only pull type reports?

my computer is not recognizing my ipod classic gen 5. it shows the sad face then i did the basic troubleshooting until logo comes out...
still my computer is not recognizing my ipod.. it still says "Windows has stopped this device because it has reported problems. (Code 43)"See here: iPod displays a sad iPod icon
Note that it's often a good sign of a hardware issue with the iPod's hard drive meaning the iPod will need to be serviced or replaced.

Very Strange Internet Problems
I own a MacBook Pro 15.4 Inch that I purchased about a year and a half ago. I recently upgraded to Leopard and have all the latest updates. I am from the US, and when I am home my internet works fine. However, I am on travel to Seoul, South Korea right now and am having a very strange internet problem.
As far as I can tell, the URLs that I type in to my browser are, sparodially, not translated correctly into the webpages that they are supposed to represent. This problem is probably effective 75% of the time, and the rest of the time my internet works roughly correctly. For instance, when I enter http://www.google.com, instead of being taken to the Google homepage, I am taking to the homepage of Jammin Beats DJ Service, an obscure website about a company in northern Pennsylvania. The actual URL of this website is http://www.jamminbeats.com, but when my internet is malfunctioning, 'jamminbeats' is for all intensive purposes replaced by 'google' (that is, it applies not only to the main page, but to sub pages, so "http://www.google.com/weddings" takes you to "http://www.jamminbeats.com/weddings" and etc). For most other webpages, one of two things happens. Either I am taken to the correct page but it is displayed without any images or frames (just the html text and links), or I am taken to a blank page with the header "Under Construction", which I assume is the default for a page that doesn't exist. This is why it seems as though the URLs are simply being interpretted erroneously.
This problem occurs when connecting both to the wireless and the wired internet at my hotel, and it occurs on both Safari and Firefox, so it is not a connection-specific or browser-specific problem. It may be a problem with the hotel's internet, and as of yet I have not had a chance to test the computer at another location. However, a colleague using an IBM computer has had no problems, and I am currently on a Samsung machine in the business center of the hotel and it is working correctly as well. I have searched extensively online for a similar problem but have come up empty handed, and more than anything, I am confused about what might be causing this problem. The strangest thing is that a fraction of the time, the internet functions normally, but it is usually roughly 15 minutes out of every hour, and eventually I am inevitably taken back to Jammin Beats.
I am a computer science graduate but I still have no idea what would cause this problem. At first I thought it might be a hacker, but if it is, he or she has been at it consistently for 3 days now, and only seems to be targeting my computer. Any ideas or solutions would be greatly appreciated, as I have been forced to resort to the hotel's business center for checking email, doing work, etc. Thanks in advance.I did consider that, as I was in Beijing last week and there are a number of censored sites. However, in Korea I have had problems with very basic sites like facebook, wall street journal, google, yahoo, Korean google, my hotel's webpage, etc. Further, I have successfully gotten all of these sites to load seemingly at random, and can access them without problems on other computers. The only disconnect seems to be between my MBP and the internet, not between Korean internet and the web. I have toyed around with the network settings, and although sometimes after switching from "Automatic" to a fixed connection I get some sites to work, it usually only lasts a short time and eventually the same sites stop working. I reset my cache regularly to make sure I'm not getting sent to cached sites, but this also doesn't help. Further, my Apple Mail, Skype and AIM accounts jump between being connected and disconnected randomly as well. Again, this is isolated to my own computer, which is why I'm so confused.

I am having problem while I am trying to distribute the file with specifing the destination details in the xml. If I am giving the destination details in url then it is working.
Ex.
This is Working

Its been week I tried many things , but not working.
Right now I am trying to distribute to single file but my goal is to burst and distribute on basis of account number.
This is the first stage of the project.

Strange email problem; it started only loading unread emails, but from 3 months ago. It is now loading new emails too, but no emails in the past month, read or unread.
