Strange route in Maps 2.0

If the map itself is wrong Navteq is the one to blame.
What if the route that Maps 2.0 creates is totaly bizzare?
Whos fault is that? Nokia?

LOL, Sight seeing mode?
I can't say I have ever experienced the U-turn back phenomenon although there is a sharp left turn on one of my regular soutes which the voice instruction calls a u-turn but the map still shows just a sharp left turn.
With regards to the route through housing estates, Maps calculate routes based on road information provided in the map data. It does not know if a road goes through an estate or not. Perhaps the map data specifies the road through the estate as a major road.

    Hi ,
Have you got any additional public IP Address from your service provider , If yes on router you can have static route for those additional IP Address pointing to your ASA  outside interface .
    Accordingly you can configure NAT
    HTH

  • Routing with Maps and Contacts

Before 1.1.3 update, I was able to select an address from a contact and use it as source or destination. After installing the 1.1.3 update, nothing gets selected from the contacts while routing with maps.

Yep...its a glitch of some sort. Go into your contacts and edit the address. Then, select the country from the scroll menu. That should fix it up. Major pain though to do that with every contact for which you have an address.

  • Strange routes in my router

    trange Routes in my Router
    Hi,
Yesterday, I logged in my Linksys router and I found the same strange route appearing multiple times and I have no clue where it is coming from. All my computers are virus free and I am using firewalls on all of them. The router is password protected. Also, RIP is disabled on the router.
Anyhoo, I resetted the router and the routing table went back to normal. Now, today, I log in again in the router and I see these routes again. Here are the strange routes:
    0.0.0.0 124.171.0.0 180.207.2.208 207 LAN
    0.0.0.0 124.171.0.0 180.207.2.208 207 LAN
    0.0.0.0 124.171.0.0 180.207.2.208 207 LAN
    0.0.0.0 124.171.0.0 180.207.2.208 207 LAN

    0.0.0.0 124.171.0.0 180.207.2.208 207 LAN

    0.0.0.0 124.171.0.0 180.207.2.208 207 LAN
    0.0.0.0 124.171.0.0 180.207.2.208 207 LAN
    Anybody ever seen this?
How can the same route be added over and over again?
    Thanks

Yes, it is a very weird Subnet Mask.
Destination LAN IP    Subnet Mask    Default Gateway    Hop Count    Interface
    0.0.0.0    0.0.0.0    XXX.XXX.XXX.XXX    1    WAN
    128.60.31.208    124.171.0.0    180.207.2.208    207    LAN
    0.0.0.0    124.171.0.0    180.207.2.208    207    LAN
    0.0.0.0    124.171.0.0    180.207.2.208    207    LAN
    0.0.0.0    124.171.0.0    180.207.2.208    207    LAN
    0.0.0.0    124.171.0.0    180.207.2.208    207    LAN
    0.0.0.0    124.171.0.0    180.207.2.208    207    LAN
On the status page, there is no gateway address. But if I look in the routing table, the route of last resort points to my provider and is OK.
Anyhoo, a route that points to Asia is pretty suspect to me.

  • Can't create correct routes in Maps

Why is it that when I'm creating a route in Maps, the outcome varies dependent on how I created the route, thus using the same route parameters?
I've created the same route using different ways of creating the route, and the created route is different every time.
If I create the route in Maps using the search facility, the route is different if I use an address via the people and contacts interface. And again it is different when using Drive.
I made the discovery when a suggested route made a 16.2 km de-tour on a 11 km stretch. More than a 100%. I'm now wondering if I dare to use NOKIA maps for my summer trip to Italy from Denmark.
    NOKIA -
Please make a navigation app where I can define my own waypoints. This is essential in every navigation system.
Please optimize the app, so I can choose an alternative route - this is basic in most modern navigation systems.

Thanks for your reply. Sorry for not writing phone model and software release.
    It is a Lumia 920 and I'm using Drive +Beta 2.1.0.1451
I'm also setting the trip options like fastest / shortest, toll roads etc. In this particular case I'm referring to with, a D-tour of more than 16 km on a stretch of 12 km, it doesn't matter how I set my planning options - I'm getting the same result.
Being well aware that the program makes some mistakes like this one, it would be nice to be able to plane the route in details by using waypoints. That is not possible at the moment with the present software by NOKIA.

  • WRT610N - Storage - Password access to router's mapped drive with XP Home

Is there a way to bypass the Linksys login screen when clicking on the router's mapped drive in XP Home?

We might have two things being discussed here - 1) changing a password to a existing storage account and 2) the problem of windows storing the user/password for a mapped drive after a reboot.
I'm struggling with with windows storing the user /password for my mapped drive (the external hardrive plugged into the router's USB).  If I can't figure this out...I might as well return the router?!  I have the "reconnect button" checked and "connect using a different user name" filled out properly. So what's the deal?  Maybe someone from Linksys should address this problem.  It may seem trivial to login every time but it ruins the way iTunes works and I'm guessing other music/photo software applications.  If itunes can't "see" the drive at login it deafults to your "My Document/My Music" directory so everytime you have to manual re-point the library.  I hope I'm clear.  Linksys please help!

  • How do I adjust the route in Maps?

How do you adjust the route in maps. For example, if I wanted directions from my current location (using the crosshair) to a friend's house 5 miles away, the directions given to me by maps has me travel on a freeway.
How would I adjust the route to avoid the freeway, take different streets etc? Being able to drag google's route on desktop is invaluable, but seems this feature is missing in iPhone 3g

I hope someone listens to this suggestion - as it is one of the biggest weaknesses of Maps in its current form.

  • Automatic re-route in Maps

How to re-route navigation easily (should do it automatically) in Maps?
    Scenario:
    1. Set target address and let Maps calculate route. so far, so good
    2. Start driving. As long as you stay "on route",things are ok
    3. You notice that Maps route is not optimal and start driving your own route. Maps does not care..
    4. In order to re-calculate route from your current GPS position to same target address. Maps UI gets very clumsy. First you need clear the map, re-enter the target address (well..luckily it's still in search window), ask to  Maps to re-route. While doing all this, your car is prob. out of the road already..
Why Maps doesn't re-calculate the route automatically when it detects that the GPS position is well "off-the-route". My friend was using his iPhone 3GS + navigation. It did the thing as expected.
is this common behaviour of Nokia Maps, or just the N900 version that lags well behind other versions.

It's just the N900 version that has this "bug", I'm afraid.
We're all waiting for the full version of OVI Maps to come from Nokia, to give us the same as all their other GPS phones, that gives you a Voice Guidance for Turn by Turn.
If you can't wait, then try Sygic's effort, which has now just been updated to version 10.  Shame that you have to pay extra for something that Nokia should be providing free to us, like they have done for all the other phones...

  • Is there a way to add a via point to a route in Maps?

With the addition of Maps to Maverick is there a way to add a via point to a route between 2 points
I might like to take a scenic highway for part of the trip or stop at a particular restaurant
    I don't see a way

I was looking for this function to, but don't see it.  Looks like the Maps functions is a little thin right now.  Hopefully it will be expanding in the future.....hopefully near future.

  • WRT54G Wireless Router - cannot map Windows 7 pc to a Western Digital sharespace drive

I have a WRT54G Wireless Router.  I recently connected a Western Digital Sharespace external storage drive to the router using an ethernet cable.  Initially, I was able to map to the Sharespace device shares and create backup plans.  After a few months, I lost the drive connections (possibly during a power failure) and since then, have not been able to map to the drives again.  I can ping the Sharespace device and I can see the device in the router configuration screens. I have another computer on the same network, running XP, that is functioning perfectly.   I am wondering if I have a problem because my laptop is on Windows7 and this is a fairly old and unsupported router.  Should I change to a newer router?

If you are able to ping the drive then your computer is communicating with the drive and your router is working fine.
Also your another computer is just working fine. I think this must be the issue with the settings on Windows 7 computer.

  • Can I create a multiple waypoint route in Maps?

I would like to be able to define my own route in the Maps App instead of picking from one of the 3 offered.  Is there any way that I can force a route to go through a specific location?

Hi HAMADART and welcome to our community
I'm a bit fuzzy on what you are looking for.
If you are asking if you can create a hyperlink from a text
caption that will open a URL or something, the answer is that you
can, but not like you think. You would insert a caption and place
it, then insert a click box object and program it to point to the
URL. Then place the click box object over where you want your user
    to click.
If you are asking if you can create a link that forces the
Closed Captioning to display, first off I'd wonder why a link when
clicking the CC button is so easy. But if you are asking if there
is a way to cause Closed Captioning to display without user
intervention, you need to take a look at fellow Adobe Community
Expert Paul Dewhurst's site and use one of his widgets.

  • Strange SAP XI mapping UserDefine function - 'syncTexts' and 'first'

    Hi,
In the SAP standard OrderCreate_OrdersOrders05 XI map, there is a strange node logic at /ORDERS05/IDOC/E1EDP01/E1EDP19, the source is /OrderCreate/OrderCreateBody/OrderCreateDetails/OrderCreateProductLineItem/ProductIdentification. There are SAP UserDefined function 'syncTexts' and 'first' in the mapping logic.
Does anyone have any idea why there is such userdefine logic in the map? it's actually causing problem in the data mapping and if I remove those functions it works, but think there should be some reason why SAP code the logic like this....
    anyone knows?
    Thanks!
    Archer

    Hi Archer,
You are talking about SAP standard map. So it is shipped with a certain SWVC and namespace.
How should I find it without this information? I cannot look in every SWVC...
    Regards
    Stefan

  • Can you choose a different route in maps?

I searched for directions in the maps app and it shows me a route that is way out of the way and is 16 hours compared to mapquest telling me 12 hours and a more direct route.
I know that online at google maps you can choose from several route options, can we do this on the iPhone app?
    Thanks for anybody's help!

oh wow, that's pretty disappointing. I'm always using Google maps at work to find places and then dragging the route around different streets to try to find the shortest distance or what *I think* will be the fastest route. That's a pretty major oversight to not let you simply drag the route around like you can on the real version.

  • How to see all suggested routes in Maps

I'm using Maps in Mavericks.  It shows "1 of 3 suggested routes" but I'd like to be able to look at the other 2 suggested routes. Is there any way I can do that?

    Hey Larry Sochrin1,
Thanks for the question. The suggested routes are all shown on the main map in the application. For example, if you have directions that have 3 suggested routes, you should see three separate blue lines (one of which will be highlighted as the current route, the other two will be a lighter shade of blue). You can toggle between the suggested routes by clicking on the blue line of a different route.
While it may be hard to see in this image (click image to view larger), the following example shows the three blue lines I am referring to (signifying the three separate routes):
