Strange Screen Behaviour When Scrolling

Hi,
anyone seen this before?
When users have scroll down in a panel, some display elements overlap each oher (see the two screenshots). By scrolling up and down a few times they can get their display back to normal.

I also have a very simple screen with just 3 drop downs and 7 radio button which show the same behaviour. Though due to security reasons I cannot post that screen over here. I work on a virtual machine and I do not see this problem happening for me, but our clients work on normal PCs and they see it every time they scroll the screen.
So does that mean that there does not exist any solution for this problem? I cannot move to AIR at this time.

  • Starting random apps and screen flicker when scrolling

My Touch 2G suddenly started to launch random apps without me touching the screen. Besides starting random apps the screen flickers when scrolling. Any body have experienced the same? It started about 1 month ago and I have always taken good care of it. I have tried every possible thing I can think of when it comes to software. Full restore, jailbreak, full restore, back to factory, back to earlier versions of IOS, but no luck. It is pretty persistent. I am sure it is hardware related and don't mind paying to have it fixed. I tried two repairshops already and they  were not able to recover the reason for the malfunction.  I wonder whether there is anybody who has experienced the same or even knows what is wrong?

  • Screen twitches when scrolling pages

Hi everyone. Well, I have my Macbook Pro with Retina display for 2 months now. Yesterday I booted it in safe mode and, I have no idea why, but my screen started twitching and  now every time when I'm scrolling/sliding pages it twitches. I've rebooted my pc for at leas 3 times (yes,I now, it wasn't really necessary), I've reseted Safari (firstly I thought that it is Safari problem) but nothing has changed. Any ideas what it could be or any suggestions what should I do?

  • Strange screen behaviour/desktop corruption

Has anyone else seen anything like this behaviour on a Mac? Everything was working fine until yesterday when this started when there was a blurring and duplication of the Finder windows and icons on the desktop. That then became an effect which is a bit hard to describe, it was like there was a scattering of different colour minute pixels around the edges of Finder windows and icons on the desktop. Did try changing the desktop pattern and restarting and the problem stopped for a short while but it's now back again, though it doesn't affect the icons on the dock it's especially problematic in applications such as Mail (see one screenshot below). I've attached a couple of screenshots to try and give a better idea of what's going on as it's a little hard to describe!

I believe what you see is only a software problem and it's very likely caused by the Skype sofware. Since your screen goes blue for a moment it looks like there's some resolution change happening. Try to change your monitor resolution manually via System Preferences. Does it look the same? You don't need to uninstall directly. First go to Sys Prefs/Accounts and look what startup objects there are. If you see anything that doesn't "belong" there (like Skype) just remove it and do a reboot to find out if the situation has changed.

  • Strange screen behavious when flipping between users

The above happens occasionally when switching between users on my iMac. Anyone else have this happen - the screen looks like TV interference as it rotates to the other users desktop ?

Just as a post script...this was sorted by Apple ( had to delete the com.apple.systempreferences.plist file from home folder/....
This seems to have done the trick.
Other files they said to remove ( but weren't there ) were....

  • Why, when I click on watch list, does the print shrink and move to the left of the screen, and when scroll down, a load of jargon follow the watch list?

Hi, does anyone know how to rectify this problem?
It only happens on eBay, when I click on "watch list". It starts of normal but by the time it completes, the print has got tiny and moves to the left of the scree. I can use the fingers to enlarge it, but shouldn't have to do that and it reverts to small when I try to use it again!  VERY annoying - it's only started happening recently, I've had this iPad 2 for 6 months, and it NEVER happened with my iPad 1!
    HELP please!

It's likely an oddity with the eBay site - they may have introduced the issue with a site update. I'm not certain, just sugesting.
Having said that, I don't see this behaviour on my iPad 3. Try restarting the iPad and see if that fixes it.
I use the eBay apps on both iPhone and iPad - I find them much easier than the website - might be worth a look

  • Strange screen behaviour on new imac

Have had the new imac for a couple of weeks now and all of a sudden the display has started behaving very strangely. Intermittently it is distorting - jagged lines and graphics screwed. Screen capture is linked here:
    http://www.malw.co.uk/photos/screencap.jpg
    Hope someone can help! Thanks.

I was hoping I wouldn't have to do that. I've been on the phone for two hours to Applecare who have tried reinstalling OSX (archive mode?), PRAM reset etc. The computer is fine though in safe mode, which leads me to believe the problem might be software based? Their solution now is a complete reinstall so basically I have to spend not only time reinstalling but getting everything back in order - I have an 80gb itunes library and 20gb of photos for starters, plus a load of software I've installed. Anyway, before I have to take that rather drastic route, hopefully someone might come up with something I haven't tried yet.

  • Strange font behaviour when printing from PDF

Hi - hoping someone can shed some light as I've been going slightly crazy trying to figure out what's happening.
I'm working on a Mac. I'm using the .ttf fonts of the Oswald family - obtained from Google fonts (and various other sources to rule out corrupt files).
When exporting the PDF from InDesign and printing it myself, there are no issues. When I send the PDF to others on a Windows machine, it prints fine.
When sending the PDF to my client (always the way) some of the font characters are, well, nudged down half way almost, out of alignment. It only happens on some characters, not all.
We only discovered this before submitting an ad to the printers, and for safety's sake, I converted all the text to outlines. Ok for now, however not a long term solution as we need to be able to use this font for live situations.
Has anyone experienced this before? Or perhaps can anyone suggest a workaround? I have to use TTF fonts as a 3rd party company who are working on some dynamic brochures have requested it.
    I'm literally at a loss.
    Thanks in advance.

Well I can give you what I did to get around the problem.  I am running Adobe X pro on windows 7.
    1.  The print job in queue, cancel it so that it is deleted.  You now should have no jobs pending.
    2.  Go to Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Devices and Printers(Win7) or just the printer and devices for your OS.  Yes this must be done with Admin privilages.
    3.  Go to Printer Properties for the Adobe PDF printer.
    4.  Select the ports tab.  Mine was on Com3.
    5.  Select Add a Port and call it Adobe Printer or something.
    6.  Select the check box and select apply.
You should now print with no errors.
    -G
Yes I am aware this has been a year, but this has happened over several versions.

  • Strange tween behaviour when copying movie clips among documents

Does anyone else encounter this? If you have a movieclip that contains a motion tween which is split in the middle, copying the movieclip that contains it to another document may make the animation un-editable or even break it (as in some of the flash banners I'm producing).
It seems like all transformation points get shifted randomly and Flash somehow tries to "knit" them together again.
This also happen if you chose "save and compact" and may break your animation if it's more complicated.
I have recorded a video which shows this behaviour:
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7nT7wza4GA
I also filed a bug report for that and hope it could be reconstructed. But seeing it in a video just illustrates the problem even better.

    Hi there,
Unfortunately this (the copy nested split tweens across files) is a known issue. However, if you use copy frames instead of copy you shouldn't see this issue.
However, I haven't seen the save and compact problem even with the large complex files -- that shouldn't be touching anything to do with the spans. Are you able to reproduce this consistently or have some steps I can try?
    Thanks!
    Jen.

  • Poor graphics redraw when scrolling Word documents

I have a strange blurring effect when scrolling Word documents on my Macbook pro, as if the graphic card had trouble refreshing: the screen is interspersed by horizontal irregular lines that make it impossible to read the text.
I have recently replaced the logic board. Anyone has an idea of what this could be?
    Thank you for the help!

I've only seen this in Word, and only in Page Layout view. It does not occur in Notebook view (although there are other stability issues with that view). At the moment I'm working on a 125 page document that I am writing, and scrolling through there are no problems.

  • Strange memory behaviour using the System.Collections.Hashtable in object reference

    Dear all,
Recently I came across a strange memory behaviour when comparing the system.collections.hashtable versus de scripting.dictionary object and thought to analyse it a bit in depth. First I thought I incorrectly destroyed references to the class and
child classes but even when properly destroying them (and even implemented a "SafeObject" with deallocate method) I kept seeing strange memory behaviour.
Hope this will help others when facing strange memory usage BUT I dont have a solution to the problem (yet) suggestions are welcome.
    Setting:
I have a parent class that stores data in child classes through the use of a dictionary object. I want to store many differenct items in memory and fetching or alteging them must be as efficient as possible using the dictionary ability of retrieving key
/ value pairs. When the child class (which I store in the dictionary as value) contains another dictionary object memory handeling is as expected where all used memory is release upon the objects leaving scope (or destroyed via code). When I use a system.collection.hashtable
no memory is released at all though apears to have some internal flag that marks it as useable for another system.collection.hashtable object.
I created a small test snippet of code to test this behaviour with (running excel from the Office Plus 2010 version) The snippet contains a module to instantiate the parent class and child classes that will contain the data. One sub will test the Hash functionality
and the other sub will test the dictionary functionality.
    Module1
    Option Explicit
    Sub testHash()
    Dim Parent As parent_class
    Dim d_Count As Double
    'Instantiate parent class
    Set Parent = New parent_class
'Create a child using the hash collection object
    Parent.AddChildHash "TEST_hash"
    Dim d_CycleCount As Double
    d_CycleCount = 50000
'Add dummy data records to the child container with x amount of data For d_Count = 0 To d_CycleCount
    Parent.ChildContainer("TEST_hash").InsertDataToHash CStr(d_Count), "dummy data"
    Next
'Killing the parent when it goes out of scope should kill the childs. (Try it out and watch for the termination debug messages)
'According to documentation and debug messages not really required!
    Set Parent.ChildContainer("TEST_hash") = Nothing
'According to documentation not really as we are leaving scope but just to be consistent.. kill the parent!
    Set Parent = Nothing
    End Sub
    Sub testDict()
    Dim Parent As parent_class
    Dim d_Count As Double
    'Instantiate parent class
    Set Parent = New parent_class
'Create a child using the dictionary object
    Parent.AddChildDict "TEST_dict"
    Dim d_CycleCount As Double
    d_CycleCount = 50000
'Blow up the memory with x amount of records

    s_SheetCycleCount = ThisWorkbook.Worksheets("ButtonSheet").Range("K2").Value

    Hi Cor,
Thank you for going through my post and took the time to reply :) Most apreciated. The issue I am facing is that the memory is not reallocated when using mixed object types and is not behaving the same. I not understand that .net versus the older methods
    use memory allocation differently and perhaps using the .net dictionary object (in stead of the scripting.dictionary) may lead to similar behaviour. {Curious to find that out -> put to the to do list of interesting thingies to explore}
I agree that allocated memory is not a bad thing as the blocks are already assigned to the program and therefore should be reallocated with more performance. However the dictionary object versus hashtable perform almost identical (and sometimes even favor
    the dictionary object)
The hashtable is clearly the winner when dealing with small sets of data.
The issue arises when I am using the hash table in conjunction with another type, for example a dictionary, I see that the dictionary object's memory is stacked on top of the claimed memory space of the hashtable. It appears that .net memory allocation and
reuse is for .net references only. :) (Or so it seems)
In another example I got with the similar setup, I see that the total used memory is never released or reclaimed and leakage of around 20% allocated memory remains to eventually crash the system with the out of memory message. (This is when another class
calls the parent class that instantiates the child class but thats not the point of the question at hand)
This leakage drove me to investigate and create the example of this post in the first place. For the solution with the class -> parent class -> child class memory leak I switched all to dictionaries and no leakage occurs anymore but nevertheless thought
it may be good to share / ask if anyone else knows more :D (Never to old to learn something new)

The "heat wave" on the screen happens when scrolling. It is driving me nuts!!!

Thank you so much for the help. It solved it. Now my eyes can look at the screen again when i scroll using Firefox 8.0! I appreciate your time to help me!
