Strange situation when trying to sync Curve with Outlook, time to admit defeat now.

Hi.
I have given up as a bad job on my main PC now trying to sync our two Curves with Outlook, get the 'Desktop Manger has encountered a problem an needs to close' message each time and have tried all of the Forum solutions with no success ~ even un-installed Outlook 2003 and reinstalled.
It did work for the first month.
I have loaded Desktop Manager (4.7) to both my Laptop and second PC and the sync process works faultlessly on both of these with both Curves.
Weird.

Un-installed DM 4.7 and re-installed ~ CD ~ as original and updated.
Ditto DM v4.7 downloaded from BlackBerry site.
Ditto DM v4.6.
Un-installed Outlook 2003 and re-installed using Contact/Calendar databases as on my Laptop & other PC.
Have tried these Synchronisation error message solutions (and some I can’t remember) from the BlackBerry site and most times when I load DM & connect our Curves ‘Checking for device application updates please wait’ runs and then the previously described error message shows even before Sync button is pressed before I can even get to Configuration.
All 3 PC’s are XP SP2 and are loaded with identical Outlook databases.
As I mentioned also, problem is only with the first machine.

  • Strange Message When Trying to Sync iOS 4.1

Ever since updating to iOS 4.1 yesterday, I have been receiving the following message when trying to sync my iPhone 4 with my home PC: "The iPhone "Mike's iPhone" Cannot Be Synced; You Do Not have Sufficient Privileges For This Operation". This is my third iPhone and I have never received this message before; also, I am using the same PC (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit)that I have for the past 8 months, and have never before seen this message. I am the sole user and administrator on the PC; the strange thing is, my iPhone appears to be syncing ok. I Googled this and saw several responses related to deleting the "iPod Photo Cache" folder on my PC, which I did, but I still get the same error message. Any thoughts?

In which step the error is occuring.
The following steps will help you to configure synchronization -
    1.
    Connect
your device using Desktop Manager and click on Synchronization
    2.
    From the
menu on the left click Synchronization under Configuration
    3.
    Again
click Synchronization button on the right which will give you option to Select
Device Application that you want to synchronize
    4.
    Put the
check mark and you'll get a prompt to Select Desktop Application
    5.
    Highlight
the application name and click next button
    6.
    Under Synchronization
Option you get Direction of Synchronization
    7.
    Check
the radio button with Two way sync
    Note: above
mentioned steps are explained as per Desktop Manager 4.5
    Example:
    Synchronize Address Book –
    Connect you HH with
your desktop Manager in your PC. If you device is set to wireless sync then you
need to turn off wireless synchronization. To do so go to Address Book
-> click Menu -> Options -> Wireless Synchronization: No
-> click Menu and Save the changes.
    Click on the Synchronize
button on Desktop Manager -> Click on Configuration Tab then click on
Configure Synchronization -> Click on Choose under Address

without knowing the make/model of your router, then no.
and even then, unless someone here has that specific router, then we can't give you a 100% step-by-step instructions for doing it.

  • When trying to sync Playbook with laptop get "Your Blackberry device is not compatible with this feature"

Just picked up a Playbook and am using Blackberry Bridge with my Torch 9810.  Bridge works great but having issues with syncing my Playbook with my laptop through a USB connection.
Desktop Software recognizes the Playbook just fine and I can do backups but no joy with syncs.
Playbook also doesn't show up as a drive on my laptop, but the Torch does show up.
Did a search of the forum and tried some of the recommend fixes (wireless off, bridge off, TCP/IP start).  I get the popup that Windows is installing new hardware but no drive.
Did I missing a solution listed in the Forum?

If you are having issues with iTunes being unable to locate files, you may need to rebuild the iTunes library. The following article may be helpful:

  • Itunes crashes when trying to sync Contacts

My itunes crashes when it tries to sync contacts with Outlook. I cannot even select the Contacts tab to change the settings. When I click the Contacts tab, itunes crashes. Has anyone experienced this problem?

    I'm experiencing the same problem.
A temporary fix is to open iTunes (without the iPod cabled into the computer.) Go to "Edit Preferences," then "Devices," and check the block that says "Disable automatic syncing..."
Then, attach the iPod USB cable. The iPod settings will all show up, but the iPod won't sync, and iTunes won't crash. You can then uncheck the block under the Contacts tab that says "Sync Contacts." (iTunes will ask you whether you want to save the existing contacts.)
Go back and uncheck the Disable automatic sync command. Tell iTunes to sync the iPod, and there shouldn't be an iTunes crash.
Admittedly, this is a bandaid until something better shows up. My suspicion is that it's a problem that originates with Outlook, and not iTunes.

  • Z22 doesn't sync calendar with Outlook, does sync other data

Trying to sync Z22 with Outlook Office 2007. It does sync tasks, contacts and notes, but not calendar. I also tried exporting calendar to a .dba file, but Outlook doesn't recognize a .dba file as importable.

I have exactly the same problem, and it is a big issue for me as well. Possibly more so as I had suggested that the whole company move over to the 6300.
The problem is definitely with the recurrence of type 3rd Thursday of every month Etc. I get the appointment, on the same date as the original "seed" appointment in outlook wiht the time replaced with 00:00 to 24:00. Sadly this has made this phone unusable and I have had to revert to my old Nokia 6230i which does not have this problem.
I am using Outlook 2007 6300 Firmware 5.5 and PC Suite version 6.85.12.0. I only sync one way from outlook to the phone.
Sadly this could be fixed quite easily if appointments of this sort were converted by PC Suite into "one off" type appointments.
I would really like a solution to this ASAP please.

  • Does anyone get failure EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS) when trying to Sync your Ipad with Itunes ?

    Hello,
I encounter a problem when trying to sync my iPad.
The problem occurs after a few seconds when syncing and after that everytime when trying to open iTunes.
I did not install anything in particular and have still over 20gb of free space on my hard disk.
The first lines of the error message are displayed below.
I have tried everything I found on the internet (such as deleting a specific font in my font library), but nothing really made the error disappear.
Did anyone encounter the same problem and got rid of it ?
    thanks in advance,
    mathieu

I have the same problem recently.
I emailed them, and a tech/support person emailed me back and told me it was a potential third party app causing it.
She said if you have any: web accelerators, firewall, or other stuff running it would cause it, but I tried to disable and unistall programs and still the same problem.
Also I tried to uninstall and start fresh and same deal, even with a new stand alone version, same problem.
I keep getting a bad kernel error when it crashes, check out here:
