Strange sound out of speaker after sleep, no switch off

Hello,
just minutes ago, when I woke up my G4 800 QS, OS 10.4.9, after about one hour sleep mode, there was a beeping sound from the speaker, that did beep...beep....beep in a frequenz of about 60 to 90 beeps/minute. I could operate the Mac, but there was no information about errors, just a transluctant gray speaker sign that appeared on the screen, similar to the one that appeares when you push the eject button for the dvd-drive. I had no chance to turn the beep off. When I opend systemcontrol and marked the sound off field, the sound was off for about 2 seconds and then the sound was automaticaly turned on again. I did a restart, and everything was alright again and quiet as an hour before.
I use Macs for 10 years know, but I have neither heard that sound nor seen that transluctant speaker sign in that time.
Does anybody have an idea what that was or what that ongoing beeping means?

That's a strange/new one. Do you have the latest update for your version of OS X?
In addition to that I'd try repairing permissions, go to Applications/Utilities/Disk Utility and select your drive and click "Repair Permissions." This doesn't really sound like something that that could fix but you never know. After that we could try deleting the sound preference list but I don't have a Mac now until Apple puts the new iMacs out so someone will have to aid you with the location of the file.

So, I put a Ubuntu LiveCD, REMOVE COMPLETE THE GUID of iMac Disk, also clean the PRAM (cmd+opt+ P + R during boot), so, the iMac was Clean and I Install the SNOW (sure).
I just Lost the money and download time that spent to get with Lion?
How can I have a Lion DVD for when Apple fix the LOT OF PROBLEMS?
Have apple schedule for fix problems?

Macbook Pro loses Airport Extreme after the Screen switches off.

I am experiencing problems where my MBP is losing the network connection with my Airport Extreme after the screen switches off (the MBP is not does not sleep).
I could be watching a video streaming from my MBP to my ATV, and all of a sudden it stops, and the ATV loses its connection with my MBP. On looking at the MBP it is still connected to the internet, but it can't physically see my Airport Extreme. I've opened the Airport Utilities program and it cannot find the Airport Extreme, even though I am still connected to it.
The only way I can fix it is to turn off the Airport on my MBP and then turn it back on and everything comes right.
This has only just started happening in the last week or so, and I have never had a problem before.
I've had a look through the forums, and on Google, but others seem to be losing their internet, etc. I am still able to access the internet, just not anything connected the Airport Extreme (e.g. USB harddrive).

What are you doing to change it to a static channel? I've been having this same problem and have tried going to Network Settings>>Advanced>>TCP/IP>>Configure IPv4, changed setting to "Using DCHP with manual address", and changed the IP address to an available ip. I've done this a lot of times before I had the monitor problem to solve the IP conflict problems I get sometimes on my network, but this didn't fix the external monitor issue. Is there something else I should be doing? Thanks

Does it power on if you plug in the charger?
But to be honest I see in your description it says 'Late 2011' so there is a good chance you have warranty right, I would take it to Apple store and let them sort it out

Have you contacted your carrier to ensure cellular data is provisioned properly for your account and iPhone?

If the Restore doesn't work, force your iPad into Recovery Mode:
1. Turn off iPad
2. Connect USB cable to computer; leave the other end alone
3. Press and hold the Home button down and connect the docking end of cable to iPad
4. Continue holding the Home button until you see the "Connect To iTune" screen
5. Release the Home button
6. Open iTune
7. You should see "iTunes has detected an iPad in recovery mode"
8. Use iTune to restore iPad
Note: You need to be patient and repeat the above many times to recover your iPad

Strange Sound Out Anomaly

I am having a really strange audio out problem. I've connected my audio out to a set of Altec ATP3 speakers (old by today's standards, but still work pretty well). I use these at work to listen to my itunes. Everything sounds great until three or four songs have played and then the sound starts sounding "phased" or a better description may be the vocals start sounding like someone added a ton of reverb to them and then the level of the vocal drops off where it's really hard to distinguish it from the music. If I unplug, then re-plug in the speakers, the problem goes away, or at least until the next three or four songs play, then it starts all over again.
Here's what I've tried:
1. Using the speakers on another Mac, and they work fine no matter how many songs that play, so I've ruled out the speakers being bad.
2. I've double-checked my itunes play back prefs to make sure I do not have any of the "sound enhancements" turned on as I know that can produce unpredictable results on speakers.
Has anyone else experienced this? Any fixes?

Can I force sound out of speaker on ipad?

IPod Nano (4th Generation) switches on when connected to USB power - shows Menu & hangs (unresponsive to click wheel) - deems off after 5-sec - Switches off after disconnecting from USB Power - syncs with iTunes - Tried 5R's - Problem still persists

1. The iPod Nano (4th Generation - 8GB) switches on, only when connected to USB power by showing apple logo and displays Menu options thereafter..
2. However, I can not access Menu as it is unresponsive to click wheel. As a result it is inaccessible to any further use,
3. NOTE: it displays "Battery Fully charged" icon on the screen without any "Lock" icon.
4. After 5-sec to 10-secs the screen deems off.. i.e. goes to sleep mode.. And thereafter would probably remain like that (sleeeping) for eternity!!!!
5. It Switches off after WITHOUT DISPLAYING any Apple Logo immediately after disconnecting from USB Power.
6. In other words, it can be switched on only through USB power in spite of battery being fully charged.
7. Interestingly, it syncs with iTunes. It is recognised in iTunes (Latest version 11+).. Displays on screen all commands Like.. syncronising, connecting, connected,
8. Allows to add Music, videos like a normal ipod & displays all status information in iTunes.
9. Read Trobleshooting & Tried all 5R's. Registered, Resetted, updated & Restored to iOS 1.0.2
10. It is now displaying to select Language in place of Menu options, with no access through click wheel, centre button whatsoever... Problem still persists
KINDLY GUIDE ME THE SOLUTION. APPRECIATE YOUR RESPONSE in advance...

Since you have already tried all the normal troubleshooting solutions, take the iPod to your nearest Apple Store for a *proper diagnosis.* The staff there will be able to confirm if your problem is software or hardware _*at no cost to you.*_

Sound does not work after sleep

I'm really tired of this problem. Have a MBP Retina running the most current OS 10.8.4. Every few days or so when I wake the system (after having lid closed for a while, and Chrome browser running) sound does not come back on. So, if I am using youtube I can't hear anything. Only solution I've found is to restart the computer, which of course I don't want to do with browser tabs open, etc. etc.
Isn't there a simple solution to this, before Apple finally figures out what causes this glitch?

Close all windows and quit all applications.
Click "Go" menu in the Finder menubar.
Select Computer, t hen Macintosh HD > Library > Preferences
Open "Audio" folder.
Right click these two files and select "Move to Trash".
com.apple.audio.DevicesSettings.plist
com.apple.audio.SystemSettings.plist
Close the windows. Restart the computer.

A Single POP Sound from Left speaker, after system heavy load.

Hello From Russia)) I bought Brand New Macbook pro 15" Late 2011 Ci7, this is incredible machine. But a month past and i started to notice a very strange behavior:
When i using mac for resource "Eating" application or processes my computer starts to Heat-this is normal.
When i close all the apps here starts interesting) I have Istat installed, so i can see what temps are in my system. Computer is cooling, and when cpu reaches 50-55 degrees (Celsium, from 80 degrees, because of heavy load) ,my left speaker produces a single loud pop sound. (like something turning of may be)
In other terms of use absolutely is fine! It is very strange and i dont know is normal or not(

That is not something I would expect. I would go to a repair facility and have it checked.

"out of range" after sleep

The only way I can get my monitor to work with the mac mini is to set the display settings to something compatible like 800x600 at 60hz (while attached to another monitor), unplug the display at the wall, boot up the mini, then plug in and turn on the display after the boot process has finished.
But as soon as the mini goes to sleep mode, the display will not wake up again - it shows the "out of range" warning. (This is also what happens when the monitor is plugged in from the start).
I have deleted all the windowserver.plist files several times, but this does not help.
Any suggestions please?

I am not able to find much info about that monitor on the web. From what little I have found, it does claim to support plug and play, which is crucially important to a Mac. But I am suspicious about the state of its plug and play driver based on the experience you are having.
If you feel like going through the trouble, download and install SwtichRes X Control Panel (not SwitchRes X the full version). It has the facility for turning a display's driver data into a human readable text file. You click on the "Export DDC" button to make the text file. If you post the resulting text file here, I will help you read it to see if it is the source of the problem.
The other alternative would be to return the monitor for your money back. Just curious, but is Mac compatibility mentioned anywhere in the user manual or anywhere else? Does Advent have tech support, and have you tried calling it?

Canon HDXL1 Sound out of sync after capture in HD when shot at 24Frames

When shooting with the new Canon HDXL1 in HD with the frame rate set at 24Frames, the audio is way out of sync when captured in FCP using the apple Intermediate codec and HDV firewire. If I play it through the camera to a HD moniter via compnent cables, the sound is in sync. The lag only occurs when capturing in FCP. Any answers? I have been told that Apple may address this issue on their next FCP update. Am I doing something wrong?

The audio default for the Canon XLH1 for HD is 48khz.
In the HD 24F mode the camera records in 24fps progressive mode. During playback the signals are down converted to 60 fps interlaced using the 2:3 pulldown method.
While recording, if the HDV/DV terminal is set to HDV output, the output signal will be in 24 fps progressive. The signal output from the HD/SDI terminal and the component out terminal will be down-converted to 6ofps using the 2:3 pulldown method. Mayber I need to use tools>remove advanced pulldown in FCP on the clips?

Sound out of sync after iMovie '11 upgrade

I have a project nearly an hour long made in iMovie '09. I just upgraded to iMovie '11 and now the sound is out of sync with the picture. It gets progressively worse the longer into the movie you go. I discovered this when I went to do more work on the project. The sound and picture were perfectly in sync in iMovie '09. I don't understand how Apple can release an upgrade with no warning that it will destroy all your previous work. What happens now?

I just finished testing a "fix" for this. Go to the App folder and delete the iMovie file. Take the iLife 11 disc and run the installation. This will take you back to the 9.0 version of iMovie. Just be careful not the upgrade iMovie when Software Update runs. I've done this and everything seems to be back to normal on the tests I've run. If you don't have iLife 11 disc and your copy of iMovie came on your computer, you will need to figure out another way to go back to the earlier version. But if you do this, at least you will be up and running until Apple releases an update that works! Good luck!
