Strange Speaker Balance Issues

I have had my PowerBook G4 for almost a year now, and I have always noticed that the volume will gradually change the balance to the left. It slowly moves, which is strange, I know, but almost every 4th day of use I must change the balance back to the middle. Does anyone know what causes this and how to fix it?
My friend has a nearly identical PowerBook G4, both purchased in June 05, but mine has an additional 512 mb of memory. He has the exact same problem

The "my PowerBook's speaker balance adjusts-to-the-right-or-the-left-on-its-own" problem is known; it has been reported by some PowerBook owners a few times on these boards. See: http://discussions.apple.com/thread.jspa?messageID=1703682&#1703682 If you run a search you can find several more threads.
Apart from manually readjusting the balance, however, I know of no fix.

Yes, I restarted my computer yesterday and this morning all my sounds is controlled by the left/right blance percentage.

Macbook Pro (2011) speaker balance keeps resetting to the left

I recently notice that whenever I reboot/startup my macbook pro, the speaker balance keeps defaulting halfway to the left. I never notice it much except when I'm listening to songs that have some part only playing in one side. I just find it odd that during startup it defaults to be halfway to the left, and I'm wondering if there's a setting somewhere that I missed that can make it the default preference.

Are you using an external display?

Need help in Payroll Tax Balance Issue - Urgent

Hi,
Please help me with the following Tax and Balance issue. The system is on 12.0.3, South African Legislation.
Issue : Salary has been restructured from Basic Salary to Total package structure in Dec 2008. Retro Pay was used to pay the difference amounts in Dec Run. But while configuring the new Elements for this Total Package they have missed out adding the Retro Elements to Proper Tax calculating Balances.
Eg : "TP Salary" element is fed to "Taxable Income RFI" balance but "TP Retro Salary" element is not fed to this balance.
So tax has not been calculated for those Retro amounts. This has been identified while validating test run for IRP5 tax certificates.
The Feb 09 (Feb is the Tax year End for payroll) Payroll was already run on 10th and payments were already done. Now we need to tax the retro amounts and retrieve the balance tax amounts from Employees.
I added the proper tax balances to those Retro elements and and the balances were adjusted to add the Retro amounts. Then I ran the Feb run the payroll again as of 20th, it did not recalculate the tax.
How to recalculate the tax so that correct tax reflects in the Tax certificates? Please help me with the necessary Info.

As I mentioned earlier, I added the appropriate balances which are used to calculate Tax to Retro Elements and those Balances got updated with the delta amount but Tax was not updated. I want to know is there any process provided by Oracle using which Tax for those already paid amounts can be recalculated.
I calculated the Tax manually and using Adjust Balance form added ZA_TAX_BALANCE_ADJUSTMENT Element and given the difference tax amount in PAYE and Tax Input values and saved the form. The Tax got updated.
Tax_ASG_RUN - 15000
Tax_ASG_TAX_YTD - 153257.32 (Prev - 138257.32). When I run the IRP5 (Tax Certificate Process) the tax is also getting correctly on it.
But client wants Oracle to calculate the Tax for those retro amounts so thats the challenge.
Could you help me with this.

ITS load balancing issue

Hi all,
During our testing we are getting a load balancing issue. However, one of the agates in our network is has more CPU power than compared to the other agates in our ITS network. The memory on all the agate servers is the same.
Our current issue we are getting is the one agate that has more cpu power but acquires more sessions as compared to the other two agates. It roughly gets 60 more sessions per agate process as compare to the other Agate servers. Does having more cpu on a Agate affect the load balancing on ITS? We are on ITS patch level 19 with the Hotfix.

Hello Jin,
yes, at (re)initialize the WGate retrieves the capacity from the AGates.
This is an accumulated number based on CPU performance and the number of CPUs!
The number can be seen in "wgate-status" as the "Capacity" of the AGate.
When running multiprocess Agates the number is retrieved from the MManager and also involves the number of agate-processes.
The WGate dispatches the load in proportion depending on these capacity numbers.
By my knowledge there is no way that these values can be configured (fixed).

CSS arrowpoint cookie load balancing issue

Hi guys,
I need some advice on a load balancing issue.
We have connections hitting the CSS via a proxy environment. As a result i see only one source ip address. I want to use arrowpoint cookies for session stickeyness. However when i enable the rule the tcp session negotiation fails. The CSS sends a TCP/RST which terminates the session.
Here's the rule config:

in L3/L4 the CSS sends the SYN directly to the server.
So when the FIN comes in, we simply pass it to the server.
With L5 the CSS spoofs the connection and we select the server only after receiving the GET.
If there was some delay between the GET and the FIN, the CSS would have time to establish a connection with the server and the FIN could be simply forwarded.
Unfortunately, in this case the FIN is right after the GET with no delay.

MacBook Speaker Balance Question

Ok, I've read some other posts here regarding an audio balance issue, but can't seem to find any that pertain to my problem... I fired up my macbook the other night during choir rehearsal to use as an audio player so my sound person wouldn't have to stay at the board but could come and sing in the choir... However, after hooking it up to the sound system, it wouldn't play my split tracks correctly... I could still hear voices... I checked the balance, and moved the slider all the way to the left side (music only) but could still hear voices. So I moved it all the way to the right and everything cut off. So, I got an external sound card (USB) that had RCA jacks (L&R) out and removed the right one... same deal... moved the sliders, and could still hear voices... to this day (after messing with it off and on for about a week) I still can't completely get rid of the voices. Is there a setting in iTunes that would allow me to completely get rid of the right channel? Even when using the internal speakers, when I move the balance sliders, I can still hear a slight bit of music in the right channel and a slight bit of voices in the left channel... Like it's blending the two slightly at the base level. Oh, I have already tried Audio Hijack and it can't even get rid of the voices using a filter to cancel the right channel.

Ok, so I fixed my own problem! A lot of help you all were! Just kidding! Actually for any interested, my problem was coming from having the sound enhancer enabled. I turned it off, and presto! Problem fixed!!!
Yay! Go me! ... Sorry just a little excited fixing a problem after being a PC guy all my life... just switched 4 months ago! Best decision of my life!

Ongoing White Balance issue

In a video I just shot there is a slight shift in exposure in the image - just when my subject moves a couple times. It is shot with a white background and she is wearing black. I think this is a white balance issue. Which filters or fixes are best for this? I have tried a few filters and they mostly do it but you can still see the couple times my subject moves and the light/exposure changes. I realize that I need to film it better, but can it be fixed. Thanks for any insights.

Search for "flicker fixer premiere pro". I don't use any of them so you will have to see what works best for you.
You can use the Fast Color corrector in PP to change exposure. You will have to make key frames. If you're not sure how to use key frames and how to use the Fast Color corrector it's time to open the manual.

Balancing issue in POSDM

Hi Aram,
There is a requirement for count/value check in POSDM when the balancing issue occurs.
If the line items of a tender type is small, this could be done by manual check but is difficult for a tender type with large number of line items.
As per findings this can be achieved by the FM -/POSDW/SEARCH_TLOG. But this isn't in compatible extract manner to collect the output. It would be helpful if this can be developed as a report/table extract.
Please suggest if there are other options as the table /POSDW/TLOGS too has the transaction data which is merged.

Still I didn't get what you are trying to achieve.
If you just want to find tenders with value 0 in any specific date/store/pos combination you can use cubes in BW to get the result.
Definitely you will get transaction number and transaction type there itself.
So you can achieve this with simple BEx query. If you are using standard cube you may try it with 0rpa_c01/c21.
If you can elaborate more with examples or screenshot (where you get balancing issue and what you would kike to capture in that case) would be easy to understand.

Audio L/R Balance Issue

I'm having a problem. Ive got audio coming through both ears but the Right ear is much louder than the Left. I've tried 2 pairs of headphones which I have tested to see if they work and they do. If I do need it repairing what part needs replacing? Or is there a way of fixing this myself?

Is the audio balance issue there no matter what earphones you use? Is it on every song? It could be the songs themselves that are the problem. If you have access to another iPod like yours where you can put your songs on and listen to them on there you can determine if it is the songs or it only happens on your iPod. If it sounds the same no matter what earphones you use on yours then it's pretty safe to assume that it is not the earphones. As for repairing it yourself...guess that would depend on how handy you think you may be and the ability for you to get what ever part(s) needed. It could be the headphone jack that has an issue but that is a random guess.

Speaker balance altered after reboot/sleep

Every time I reboot or start my Mac from sleep the speaker balance is altered and set to full right. I would guess there is a currupt settings file somewhere. Tired of adjusting speaker balance the first thing I do when I start my computer and need help to fix this.

Speaker balance mysteriously changing

Here's my problem. I have an iBook G4, and the speaker balance keeps changing mysteriously. I'm thinking that there's a short-cut-key to adjust the balance, and that I'm inadvertently pressing it at some point.
I can't figure out what it is. Is that's not it, why is the balance changing? It's sort of annoying to have to keep going into system preferences to change it back every few days.

i had this problem. it actually has to do with when you hit the volume button in quick succession sometimes it starts messing with the balance. I got rid of it by insteading of doing tap,tap,tap i just started doing tap..,tap,tap..

Joint Stereo Balance Issues with Headphones iPod iPad iTunes 10.5.0.142

This is a cross posting.
I'm running iTunes 10.5.0.142 on windows vista SP2. I have an old nano (2nd gen) and an iPad (1st gen).
Most of the files in my library are MP3 encoded using iTunes with default joint-stereo settings.
All of my library seems to want play through the Left stereo channel whenever I have headphones plugged in, either on my laptop, on my ipad, or ipod. Same thing. Doesn't matter what set of headphones (and YES I have switched the phones in my ears, so I'm not going deaf). I've cleaned my ear buds.
I've reencoded some of the files to AAC on iTunes Plus - the result is the same. The thing is that all of the settings indicate stereo in some form. NONE are mono. I can hear the track really really faintly on the right channel, but it's constantly as if I'm going deaf in one ear, and I'm not.
The REALLY strange things are this - when played out of my laptop speakers, there are no issues with balance. Neither are there issues when I play through Airplay to an Airport Express set up.
I've gone through my files, and it doesn't matter which ones. This problem occured before, but I think it cleared up quickly with an iTunes update at somepoint.
IT is RIDICULOUS. I do not have this issue with any other audio on my laptop, and it only started when I updated to 10.5.0.142. I haven't actually changed anything in the library other than that.
Please let me know if something is going on or what I'm missing here.

I noticed this problem first on my Windows 7x64 i3 laptop... I'd rather it not happen. Knowing how helpful Apple has been in the past at actually solving Windows problems. You might consider uninstalling and just syncing to iCloud unless you have a lot of music. As for me, I'm uninstalling it again on my laptop.

Audio Balance issue in Windows XP Pro SP3 using Boot Camp

Hi,
It seems that my Windows audio isn't balanced after launching with Boot Camp. The right speaker is fine, but the left speaker sounds soft and faint. I discovered this when playing with the audio balance in volume control. I'm not facing the same issue in Max OS X.
I have already downloaded the latest Realtek audio drivers and still no luck. Has anyone encountered this, and know of a solution? I use both OSes extensively and playing music is a must..
