Strange symbol displayed like +@ - what does it me...

Nokia 5220 XpressMusic displays along the top of the screen
Signal strength, Battery Status, then Strange Symbol as below - a superscript + just before an at sign.
+@
all in a kind of outline font - not filled in.
If I have a GPRS connection, the GPRS icon goes between the battery and the strange one.
Any ideas what it means?

this sounds like its registered to the gprs network go to packet data settings and select when needed this will keep this off screen until you activate it
here is the user manual also

  • What is this Symbol called and what does it mean?

What is this symbol/icon called and what does it mean?  It goes away with it's "notification" and I would have no idea where to find it should I need to.
    Please.  And thank you.

It did come from Apple as I had to deal with this.  But in speaking with another "Genius" I was trying to describe the symbol to him and never got an answer.

  • In itunes if "Songs" is selected a column with a Check Sign header is displayed. What does this column mean?

In itunes with "Songs" selected there is a column labled with a header which is simply a check sign. If you select "View" a pulldown menu titled "View Options" appears and one has the option to either display (or not display) the "Checked" column. I get that. But what does it mean when a song is shown as "Checked" versus not being "Checked" That part I don't understand. Is it used in conjunction with another operator? I understand columns labled "Name", "Artist", "Alumn" but "Check Sign" is new to me. Please help.
    Thanks.

    Diesel,
Thank you for your response. I never would have figured that out.

  • Strange java error. What does it mean?

"An error was encountered performing the requested operation:
    no odjdbc11 in java.library path
    vendor code 0"
Using latest version of SD, which works on some PCs but not on others. It does not matter what version of JRE is installed on the machines involved.

Okay, then how does one discover what version of Oracle is installed?

Not understanding something isn't being dumb but not 'trying' to understand something might be.
But you are still only providing mostly anecdotal evidence. To troubleshoot you have to provide facts; specific facts, not generalizations.
This statement is a gross generalization that is entirely lacking in facts
    >
it does not matter what version of SD or java is installed on their PC
    >
I seriously doubt if you know what versions are actually installed and/or which installed versions you are even using if multiple versions are installed.
To be factual you need to say precisely what versions of sql developer and java are installed.
This statement you made is totally off-base
    >
I have 1.5.0.12 and it works with every available version of SD out there.
    >
ABSOLUTELY WRONG! - get that notion out of your head!
Did you read the quote I provided from the Oracle sql developer download page? The version matters immensely.
    >
Oracle SQL Developer 3.1 is shipped with JDK1.6.0_11. However, you can connect to and use any JDK 1.6.0_11 or above.
    >
If Oracle says you need to use JDK 1.6.0_11 or above then don't use any other version period. It doesn't matter what you 'think' seems to work. If you don't use the correct versions you are guaranteed to have problems and some of those problems simply can't be fixed.
Your general statements about version are totally useless for troubleshooting purposes
    >
    Using latest version of SD
We have made sure only one version of SD
it works with every available version of SD
    >
You have still not provided an actual version for sql developer that you are using that is causing a problem.
How can anyone try to reproduce your problem if they can't use the same exact version of software that you are using?
It is not believable that you have tried 'every available version of SD'. Stick to facts.
As for Java versions open a command prompt and post the results of
    javac -version
java -versionThose commands will tell you what versions of Java compiler and JVM are actually being used by default.
For sql developer the GUI - help - About dialog box will display the version. There are actually THREE different executeables that are provided in the installation. Do you know which one you are actually launching?
One of the executeables should be run from a command prompt and it will leave the command window open so that you can see error messages and console output that would otherwise not display. Try this version and see if any other messages are displayed.
    As for this

Are you absolutely certain you posted the EXACT message? There are no real references on the web to odjdbc11 but there are a ton of them to ocijdbc11.
This relates to connecting to Oracle using a TNS connection; that is using the thick OCI driver rather than the thin Java only driver.
To use the OCI driver you may need to have Oracle client installed on the pc. If you do a search for ocijdbc11 you will find many, many articles and this one is probably the one you should start with

  • Small display problem - what does it mean?

While I was using browser & viewer -- not adjusting, but switching into & out of full-screen mode -- one of my JPG images started to display with a couple of wide black bars extending halfway across the top. This was only in the viewer; the browser's thumbnail was fine. When I switched to full-frame the flaw was gone in the viewer, but it came back when I switched back. Finally I chose another image and went to full-screen and back and returned to the first image, and it was ok.
No harm done, but I'm curious about two things:
    1. does this mean anything?
    2. is there some way to refresh the viewer's image, in particular? I'm not clear about which this is, among the various renderings Aperture keeps.

I'm bumping this topic because now I'm seeing this phenomenon for the second time. The top right-hand quarter of the image is blacked out -- only in the viewer, not the thumbnail -- and not, at least this time, when I switch to Full Screen. So again, not a big deal, but a little annoying, and irregularities are always alarming.

  • What does a broken battery icon on an iPhone used as an iTouch mean?

I have an old iPhone 3G that is set up as an iTouch for my son to use.  It is not jailbroken, and was set up per the guidelines on Apple support.  It's been working fine for about 6 months.  Now when I charge the device, upon charging, an icon showing a cracked battery with green fluid leaking out shows on the display.  What does this mean?  Can I continue to use the device safely?

You mean the Control Center.  As was said ...slide up with your thumb from the home button and a gray box should open (i.e. Control Center).  There you can turn the orientation lock Off or On.  You can also use the Flashlight or turn Bluetooth on or off, and other functions.

My daughter has had her Razr for about 9 months now.  About two weeks ago she picked up her phone in the morning on her way to school when she noticed two cracks, both starting at the camera lens. One goes completely to the bottom and the other goes sharply to the side. She has never dropped it and me and my husband went over it with a fine tooth comb. We looked under a magnifying glass and could no find any reason for the glass to crack. Not one ding, scratch or bang. Our daughter really takes good care of her stuff, but we still wanted to make sure before we sent it in for repairs. Well we did and we got a reply from Motorola with a picture of the cracks saying this was customer abuse and that it is not covered under warranty. Even though they did not find any physical damage to back it up. Well I e-mailed them back and told them I did a little research and found pages of people having the same problems. Well I did not hear from them until I received a notice from Fed Ex that they were sending the phone back. NOT FIXED!!! I went to look up why and guess what there is no case open any more for the phone. It has been wiped clean. I put in the RMA # it comes back not found, I put in the ID #, the SN# and all comes back not found. Yet a day earlier all the info was there. I know there is a lot more people like me and all of you, but they just don't want to be bothered so they pay to have it fix, just to have it do it again. Unless they have found the problem and only fixing it on a customer pay only set up. I am furious and will not be recommending this phone to anyone. And to think I was considering this phone for my next up grade! NOT!!!!

  • What does the WiFi calling indicator look like on Lumia 640.

I have a new Lumia 640 with Wifi calling. The EE setup instructions talk about getting a message from them and then within 24hrs being switched on and the phone will show a 'Wifi Calling Indicator' What is this as there is no reference in Lumia userguide or on EE search for this Icon. What does it look like? Also when the phone is restarted the Wifi calling stops working and the EE WIfi tile dissappears from the main screen.

Hi I have today had a chat with the call centre. My phone was obtained from the EE shop in Weston super Mare and they activated the WIFI calling. It has worked intermittantly since the start date. The symbol for WiFi Calling is NOT shown in the EE icons list or the Microsoft Icons list for the Lumia 640 hence my original question. I have now seen it and know what it looks like, different from the Samsung phones. Why not a standard symbol? The Wifi calling keeps stopping working putting the phone into mobile data mode only despite the Wifi calling setting selection still being shown for Wifi calling as ON. When dragging down the top of the screen the second line shows EE 4G instead of EE WIFI 4G and the tile shows EE instead of EE WIFI.Basically the Lumia 640 is not providing WIFI calling reliably. Whether it is a phone software/hardware error or an EE problem is unknown and proving impossible to identify. As I have no signal most of the time this facility is essential to me, I don't even advertise my number as it has been unobtainable for the past two years. After waiting for 18 months for this facility as it stands I would not recommend this Lumia 640 phone and EE WIFI calling facility.RegardsRetired Orange/EE Planning Engineer
