Strange text in iTunes devices tabs "%1$S"

I recently tried to restore an iPad mini's 7.0 backup to a replacement iPad mini. I was eventually successful but I was thwarted by what appears to be misplaced strings in the devices tab of iTunes.
Using version 11.1.1 on OSX 10.8.5 status post supplemental update.
See screenshot below of the problem. Identical issue happens with my iPhone 4S on 7.0.2 when it connects. Anyone else have this?

I downloaded the update file manually from Apple.com and reinstalled. Fixed it! Looks like the update from the App Store was corrupted somewhere along the line.

There is strange text at the top of my tab which is very annoying I am not sure why this is occurring.
If you take a look at the pic I have uploaded you will see my issue with your web browser.

I want to transfer a movie I have downloaded from itunes to my new IPAD. I have been on the itunes help menu, it tells me to look under 'devices' tab for IPAD. BUT there is no 'devices' tab and it does not list my new IPAD. Help!

I want to transfer a movie I have bought in itunes to my new IPAD. I have been trying to work how to do this for 3 days now. I have accessed all the itunes help and forums and wiki online. They all tell me to go to the DEVICES tab on itunes and select IPAD then sync. YUP seem simple, BUT there is not DEVICES tab listed on my itunes and it does not list IPAD. Years ago I set up my IPOD no problem and that is listed, but not the new IPAD. Can anyone help? I would love to be able to actually watch films on my IPAD!! thanks

If you have iTunes 11 on your computer then you can enable the left-hand sidebar on it via option-command-S on a Mac, control-S on a PC - when connected (and if your computer's iTunes is up-to-date) your iPad should then appear on that sidebar under a 'Devices' heading :
If you select the iPad on that sidebar you can then use the Movies tab on the right-hand side of the iTunes screen to select and sync that film to your iPad's Videos app.

ITunes 11 how do I arrange apps on iPhone screens from computer? Device tab disappears???

I just downloaded iTunes 11, and am regretting it. It is super easy to buy new music, apps and vids, but I can't figure out how to get it to display my iPhone screens on the computer. It will sync, when I plug in my phone via a USB cord, but other than that...what the heck? I tried to click on my Device tab but the second I do, that tab just disappears. Nothing changes, I get no screen showing my iPhone screens, no way to move around my apps in iTunes. What am I missing or doing wrong? I can go to my Apps tab and see all my apps, in alphabetical order. I can select them all and update them, etc., etc., but I just can't figure out how to show my iPhone screens while in iTunes.
I've searched online and found a How To that shows your phone comes up after you click on the Device tab...but I can't get that Device tab to work. HELP! This is driving me nuts and making me feel completely illiterate.

This is what I done on my Macbook Pro 10.7.5, Using iTune 11.0.1 to Sync with my iPad 2.
Here you go
Once iTunes 11.0.1 is up & running
On the top Left hand side, Click on Apps
In the Middle of iTunes, Click on iPad or iPhone
Then on the top right corner, Click on your device icon with the Eject button
Then you should see you device screen at the bottom were you can start moving around apps or etc.....

You should check your settings, as ED3Ksuggests. I don't think the ringtones tab shows up until you add some ringtones.
If you are using an app to make (or otherwise procure) ringtones on your iOS device, you will need to open that device in iTunes, go to the Apps tab, and scroll down to the bottom. Select the ring tone app from the list and locate the new file there first. Drag it out of iTunes or save it, and then import that file into the iTunes Library (drag it onto the iTunes icon in the Dock).

Cannot find iPhoto tab under iTunes/devices/apple TV

I am wanting to update my iPhoto library to the Apple TV. When I go to iTunes, devices and open Apple TV there is no iPhoto tab as per the manual.

ITunes doesn't show a Devices tab

For some months, my iTunes has not recognized my iPhone5. Both os's are up to date - well, the iPhone is up to date as of March when I stopped being able to sync. iTunes is up to date. There is no Devices tab. All my USB ports work with other devices, and the phone does charge on the USB. I know the phone and cable work because they show up on other folks' computers. This is a low-level frustration but I do want to sync and update my phone someday! Ideas? Do I really need to lug my iMac in to an Apple Store?

Thanks Rick, but that's not it. I wish. (I confess updates to iTunes keep me guessing about where functions get hidden, that used to be in plain view.) When I plug in the iPhone 5 (and yes I keep trying different USB ports, rebooting, etc.) iTunes does not launch. If I then launch iTunes, it shows no evidence of the device. On help pages, I see illustrations of a Devices tab in the top menu next to iTunes Store (when sidebar is hidden) but that doesn't appear on my iTunes. Other thoughts?
