Strange thing with compiz-fusion

Hi
So I've installed Archlinux and loving it apart from some small things which ive not looked into just yet any way.. the reson for this post is... when i start compiz-fusion it loads which is fine uptill i opening another window, firefox, gnome-terminal etc etc you name it i dont see the contents of that window i have to restart compiz-fusion for it too update... they say a picture says a thousand words so here is one or two screen shots of whats happening
Normal while compiz-fusion is not running..
Now while compiz-fusion running.. Now this next screenshot shows ive opened another terminal and its blank
ive had to restart compiz-fusion even when that is done you still cannot see what your doing at all!
has any one else had this problem or know how to fix it?

Sorry I forgot to add this info:

  • Strange things with keyboard

    strange things with keyboard happens on my macbook - after cleaning keyboard (rag with spirit) I start mac and get sticky key (continuously type one letter and beeping on speaker). I shutdown mac, remove key and clean space under it... it helps - but I found other strange bug:
    pressing left shift - gives me capital letter "O"
    letter "O" - always capitalized
    | symbol always comes with return button
    now I use external keyboard - all good on it... but macbook keyboard still wont work properly
    what can it be? how fix it?
    ps: sorry for my eng

    thanks for your reply, and you might be right about using USB v2.0. The PS/2-USB adapters I am using are v.1.0 so may be incompatible, even though this technology is supposed to be backward-compatable.
    Since this problem reared its ugly head, I have disabled the Toshiba applications and monitored the situation - OK so far, but I will keep an eye on it.

  • Strange thing with ExternalInterface when profiling

    Hello.
    I use Scout for analyze application and found out strange thing with ExternalInterface:
    I regularly get some overheads with ExternalInterface._evalJS. But I don't any explicit calls of ExternalInterface.call during this overheads. Does it mean that ExternalInterface make internal interactions during flash player lifecycle, or something else?

    From the screenshot, it looks like you've registered an anonymous function as the callback for a "timer" event (the "MethodInfo-xxx" is an auto-generated name that Flash gives to anonymous functions), and this function is calling into ExternalInterface. It's your code (or possibly that of a framework you're using) - not internal Flash player functionality.

  • Assuming video is not compatible with compiz-fusion...?

    I'm installing ArchLinux on a extra computer at work... works great... but for the fun of it I tried running compiz fusion on it. I get this:
    [root@myhost ~]# fusion-icon
    * Detected Session: kde
    * Searching for installed applications...
    * Using the GTK Interface
    (fusion-icon:7540): Gtk-WARNING **: Locale not supported by C library.
    Using the fallback 'C' locale.
    * KWin is already running
    * Setting window manager to Compiz
    ... executing: compiz --replace --sm-disable --ignore-desktop-hints ccp
    compiz (core) - Fatal: No GLXFBConfig for default depth, this isn't going to work.
    compiz (core) - Error: Failed to manage screen: 0
    compiz (core) - Fatal: No manageable screens found on display :0.0
    * Setting window manager to KWin
    I'm just using an xorg.conf that was generated with #X -configure, and have also tried one generated with hwd -x.  Both detect  "sis" as the video driver.  Listing below...
    Am I right to assume that this means that the video in not compatible with compiz? Or could it be some settings that need to be tweaked.
    Thanks for any advice.

    Are you 100% sure? I just run glxinfo and it says:
    direct rendering: Yes
    And I'm confused. Are there any chances of getting compositing to work on SiS card in this case?
    I'm not the expert here, but compiz can work with indirect rendering, so I don't think that's the qualifier for if it works for your system.

  • Help needed because of strange things with Lollipop!

    Hello everyone. I've updated to Lollipop 5.0.2 .... But some strange things are happening.
    I've updated using PC companion. When I finished downloading the update files from the Net
    ,and I've turned off my phone so the update starts. After 1 minute something wrong went with my
    computer. It restarts by itself. So my phone didn't boot anymore. I tried to reupdate it, but
    that couldn't be done cause the phone is not booting. So I had one option, which is to do
    a system repair to repair my phone. I did it and I succeed. So my phone is now updated to lollipop
    , but of course all the data in the phone were wiped out. This is not a problem, I can redownload the apps I want.
    The problem is that on Kitkat I used to play a game called ( plants vs zombies ) , but on Lollipop
    Whenever I open the game it shuts down after half a minute. I thought the problem was
    because I moved it to the SD card, so I moved it to the internal storage of my phone
    but no change. It still shuts down by itself.
    Another thing is that when I install an app, in normal state there are moving lines from the above
    to show that the app is installing . Sometimes those lines disappear , I don't know if this is a problem or not.
    This is a screenshot of the fault.As you can see , the line is still. There must be lines moving inside it.Thanks.

    Hi! Sorry, I've been busy and hadn't gone on the forum for about 2 weeks haha. Uhm I do not experience the problem anymore it was a long time ago, from where do you download your APK files? I used 1MobileMarket for the download of PvZ2 but I receive updates via Google PlayStore. The only thing I can suggest is that you uninstall it, try downloading it vis 1MobileMarket and see if it works. If not I really don't know what the problem is.. I had my problems with PvZ on the Z, not the Z2, but it was the same you are experiencing with the game. I did notice that whenever I did a factory reset or system repair, I'd lose all my PvZ gaming data although I had my Google Play Account logged it to sync my data. As for the lines while installing the app; If the apps work normal after installing (the lines still didn't show up or disappeared) I don't think it might be such a problem. As long as you can run the apps. Hope this helps!

  • Strange things with checkbox

    Hi! I have a strange problem: In liveCycle Designer ES 8.2 I have on Master Page checkbox "mycheckbox".
    My code:
    if(mycheckbox.rawValue == "0")
        myPage.presence = "visible";
    else if(mycheckbox.rawValue == "1")
        myPage.presence = "hidden";
    When I clicked on mycheckbox happen strange things - mycheckbox will not be checked! I don't understand what is wrong.
    Matthew

    Hello mathew,
      If you keep any interactive fields in the Master page like text field or check box, as Malcolm said you will loose the values in it.
    This happens only when you try to hide some pages. because the form will be remerged again and it can bring back the values entered in the fields present only in      the body page. It will not hold any values entered for the master page. That is why your check box is behaving wierd. To get more clarity on this, keep a text field in the master page, and on its exit event, try to hide one of your pages on the form. When you preview the form and type the value on text field and exit from it, the text field will become null and also your required page will be hidden.
    Your problem solution:
        For the check fields you want to have in Master page, maintain the duplicate hidden check fields in one of the body page. Try to assign the checked values to the hidden fields in the change event of check fields and retrieve the values back to the masterpage checkfields in the exit event.
    This below should work for you in the events of master page checkbox:
    form1.#pageSet[0].MasterPage1.CheckBox1::change - (JavaScript, client)
    form1.page1.CheckBox2.rawValue = this.rawValue;
    form1.page1.TextField2.rawValue  = this.rawValue;
    if (this.rawValue = 0)
    page2.presence = "hidden";else
    page2.presence = "visible";
    form1.#pageSet[0].MasterPage1.CheckBox1::ready:layout - (JavaScript, client)
    this.rawValue = form1.page1.CheckBox2.rawValue;
    Hope this helps.
    Regards,
    Chaitanya

  • Strange thing with set update calc

    Hello,<BR>i see a strange behavior with intelligent calculation,<BR>In my outline i have the time dimension like this,<BR>Year<BR> Qtr1<BR> Jan<BR> Feb<BR> Mar<BR> Qtr2<BR> Qtr3<BR> Qtr4<BR>When I run a calc script:<BR>SET UPDATE CALC OFF;<BR>SET CACHE HIGH;<BR>SET LOCKBLOCK HIGH;<BR>fix("member")<BR>calc dim(D1,D2,D3,D4,..);<BR>endfix;<BR>I see values of quarters are tripled and further the values of year is quadrupled (a total of 12 times). When removed SET UPDATECALC OFF; it works fine<BR>Do someone has any insight into this<BR>Thanks<BR>Rama<BR><BR>

    The calc engine doesn't evaluate a time rollup outside of the time dimension...<BR><BR>Each dimension has it's own rules for aggregation, and they are evaluated one dimension at a time.<BR><BR>So, once you have your quarter total for say, "New York City", it will be added to all the other cities in "NY State" to get the state total. This "NY State" quarter total for product "x" will then be added to all the other "NY State" quarter totals for any other products to get the product rollups, etc... Of course, this is based on a Time, Location, Product sequence.<BR><BR>Another way to look at this, is that only when the Time dimension is being aggregated will the rollup for "Jan", "Feb", and "Mar" be used to calculate "Qtr 1". If you need a concrete analogy, examine the way row totals and column totals are used in excel to obtain a grand total, you could do the sequence in either way (assuming a simple sum).<BR><BR>Where intelligent calc fits in: now assume with your row and column totals that only one cell is modified... You need to recalc the row total, the column total, and the grand total. The row and column totals are direct dependents (formula wise), while the grand total is directly dependent on the recalculated row/column totals. This progression continues until all known dependent roll-ups/formulas have been evaluated.<BR><BR>HTH<BR>

  • Strange uses for compiz-fusion

    Today I used compiz-fusion to read extra-long alternate text for an image.
    I think this thread should be moved to the "try this" section.

    Whoa, that is long.
    Very creative.

  • Xfce4 panel fail to autohide with compiz-fusion

    Hi, all!
    I have been using arch for a few months, and I choose xfce4 as my desktop environment. But recently I am using compiz-fusion as the WM and the problem came: when the panel is set to "autohide", it won't appear whereever I put my mouse after it autohide. When I'm using xfwm, it all right. I don't know what's the issue, please give me a hand! Thanks a lot!!:)

    I have solved this problem by disable the "Desktop Wall" plugin.
    It's all right now, haha:D

  • [unsolved] SLOW Scrolling with Compiz-Fusion on Intel

    Hi there, i just installed Compiz-Fusion according to instructions on the wiki, however it won't run fine in many aspects:
    a) Scrolling just slows KDE really bad, from konsole to firefox almost freeze the system while scrolling. it's just soooooo slow.
    Hell I managed to fix some bugs, but the scrolling problem persists.
    I've got an intel 845 video card, which has run Compiz-Fusion in an useable mode until now (at least that was in Ubuntu, back when I used it)...
    I use fusion-icon to launch compiz...
    Ideas?
    Thank you so much.
    PD: I changed the options removing sync to vblank and increased the refresh rate to 100, overriding also the autodetection of that rate also... all the options are correctly configured in xorg.conf

  • Strange thing with Xcode

    Hi,
    I created a thread over in the Mac OS X forums, but I've been redirected over here. My question is about the C programming language and Xcode. I recently picked up my C programming book to start where I left off a few months ago, however I ran into some trouble using Xcode 3 in Leopard.
    For some reason, I was not able to get a program containing the 'scanf' function to work. The program doesn't even initiate (I've tried putting a simple 'printf' command as the 2nd line). It just sits there "running" while nothing is happening. But what's really strange is that the exact same code works perfectly when built with Xcode 2 in Tiger. Its not a very complex program, just 20 lines or so... but I don't understand why it works with one version of Xcode and not another.
    And as if by magic, I can't get 'if' statements to work with Xcode in Tiger (Xcode 2). But, they work just fine with Xcode in Leopard (Xcode 3). Go figure! This problem is a little different, because my simple 25-line program just terminates immediately after starting. I'd like to get this resolved, but nothing I do seems to work. Reinstalling Xcode both on Tiger and Leopard did nothing. Even trashing the preferences and restarting had no effect. Anyone have an idea?
    Thanks,
    -Trevor

    You're probably right about my code being wrong, but I can't seem to find the problem. Please be patient with me here as I am new to programming.
    This one is simply to calculate a triangular number:
    #include <stdio.h>
    int main (void)
    int n, number, triangularNumber;
    printf ("Enter a triangular number: ");
    scanf ("%i", &number);
    triangularNumber = 0;
    for ( n = 0; n <= number; ++n )
    triangularNumber += n;
    printf ("Triangular number %i is %i
    ", number, triangularNumber);
    return 0;
    As you can see, thats the one with the scanf statement. Here's the other one:
    #include <stdio.h>
    int main (void)
    int number;
    printf ("Type in an integer: ");
    scanf ("%i", &number);
    if ( number < 0 )
    number = -number;
    printf ("The absolute value is %i", number);
    return 0;
    Thanks
    Also, keep in mind that I did not write these programs. I just copied them as examples from the programming book I'm using.

  • Strange things with netcfg

    Hello, I do not had too much time to dive in the problem yet, but here it is:
    I've installed arch on virtualbox, I use netcfg ( I will have multiple interfaces soon, that was the reason ).
    Netcfg worked for me on several machines.
    By now, if I use netcfg ( network daemon is not started! ), i can ping anything, DNS resolving works, but
    pacman does not, and if I try a browser like links ( the machine stays console-based ),
    the browser stucks at "REQUEST SENT" and nothing happens.
    I have no error messages, nothing related in /var/log/errors.log or .../messages.log or .../everything.log
    If I shut down the net-profiles "daemon" and start /etc/rc.d/network, everything works fine
    So, to resume:
    for me it seems that I have set all the settings correctly, ICMP works, maybe TCP/IP not ?
    What am I missing?
    here's my config file
    /etc/network.d/myinterface
    INTERFACE='eth0'
    IP='static'
    ADDR='192.168.1.200'
    BROADCAST='192.168.1.255'
    GATEWAY='192.168.1.254'
    DNS='192.168.1.254'

    One way audio is normally a NAT issue - so make sure the SPA9000 is configured according to your IPTSP's manual (in terms of NAT traversal, STUN/VIA, outbound proxy and ports that you may have to open).
    There are two essential pieces to tracking down a problem with your VoIP equipment:
    The configuration of every device involved
    SIP protocol traces
    And don't forget: there's no such thing as giving too much information when describing a problem.

  • Strange thing with tomcat+jsp+javabean

    I use javabean in jsp with tomcat container.if I put the javabean file in a package,then it works well.But if I don't, I means,there are no package clause in my javabean file.then it complaint that org.apache.jsp. error:class not found.
    It is very strange.Of course place the class file I put is right.Do anyone encounter the same problem.I use tomcat4.0.4

    Did you import the classfile? Even if it is not there in a package, you need to import it.
    For example, if you have a Test.java (Test.class) in your web-inf\\classes with out any package statement, then you need to code this in your jsp,
    <%@ page import="Test" %> (I don't exactly remember whether you need to import 'Test' or 'Test.class'). Just give a try.

  • Strange thing with new imac's @ portugal

    Hi,
    I bought the new imac in Portugal, where it does not exist official representation of apple, only one bad
    deliverer, interlog.
    These gentlemen are selling the new imacs with the old keyboard with the same price. In the page store.apple.com, portuguese version they inform that the new is keyboard is accessory, very strange.
    Is there any place where I can officially complain next to apple?

    New imac, 20''. But that's not the point, the issue is they are selling the new imacs with the old keyboard and that could be "illegal". They give to you the box with the imac without the new keyboard inside and put on top the old keyboard, just like that.
    I think that one apple product sell in us must be exactly the same around the world, am I right?
