Strange vertical bar at right side of screen.

Booted up in the afternoon after everything being normal in the morning. The logo and loading wheel were slightly to the left on start up and when I went to enter my password, there was a faint line down the right hand side of the screen (about 1.5" in) and the image seems to blur horizontally from there. When I got into my desktop, the toolbar had also been pushed off the bottom of the screen. The touchscreen of the blurry section still works.
No idea how it happened (as I said, it was fine when I left) and hoping it can be fixed!

Alternatively try uninstalling current graphic driver from Display adapters section in Device Manager & reinstalling the latest Graphic driver from your HP support page.
Then restart the system, check.

This isn't a native setting that I can find Relsea. Did you download an application that maybe has this function? Any luck if you reboot the phone by pulling out the battery?

Qosmio G - Right side of screen is unusable

Hello guys
recently I have installed Windows 7 and updated the nvidia driver using the Windows update.
It was working fine - but all of a sudden on the right side of screen 2 black bar appeared one is more darker and one is lighter. I tried reverting back to the old driver also removing the whole Windows 7 but still it is the same.
Sometimes one of the bar displays as multicolored bar
in the screenshot on bar became blue while other purple

I agree with Luke the point is that you have to check what part could malfunctions
In your case it can be a software based issue but hardware issue is more possible
If its hardware issue then it could be either a display malfunction or a graphic chip issue
If you connect a eternal monitor to this notebook then you should be able find out what part could be affected. If the same would be visible on second screen then I would assume a faulty GPU causes this

Green vertical line on right side of my final .mov?

I've exported a custom sized, 4:3, .mov file via Compressor. The final file has this bright green line running vertically down the right side of the frame.
Any ideas how to remove it? I've run into this before - seems to happen inconsistently.

Firefox will not let me click on some tabs and will not let me scroll up on right side of screen

all of the sudden tonight firefox will not let me "click" to open tabs. also will not let me scroll the screen up on right side of screen. can scroll down, but not up.

Iphone 5s right side of screen glass is loose

After 7 month of usage I have seen that my iphone 5s right side of screen is loose. When you make pressure on that side it goes down but no any voice. It is a little bit annoying. What can I do? Does anyone have this type of problem?

I don't think they would know what caused it either because there are so many variables related to Li-ion battery swelling. While I cannot say that you have the same problem, it certainly sounds like it.
Even though the battery was within official specification and the phone was out of warranty, the Apple Store did not charge me for replacement of the battery, which they were able to do in the store.
If you do a search for "lithium ion battery swelling" on the Internet, you'll see a lot of examples.

One red dot appearing in right side of screen in Xperia z

What thommo meant is it's ( stuck pixel) a pixel that fails to show any other colour than what it's showing you ( red here )
A dead pixel is dead and it doesn't show any colour.
Upto 4 stuck / dead pixels are considered normal but above that it is considered as hardware defect.
In that case you could claim for warranty and have the device repaired or replaced free of cost.

Strange square box on right side of bookmarks bar

The other day a strange long square box appeared on the right side of my bookmarks bar.
The bookmarks bar I refer to starts on the left with the words "most Visited" "Start" etc, etc, with all my bookmark links icons displayed going from left to the right... but ... strangely, one day when I started my computer a strange "long square frame" appeared to the right of my bookmarks bar ,
and then pushed all of my bookmarks over to the left (eliminating most ) and now I have just a few bookmarks on that bar with a double arrow " >> " like this . I have to click on the "double arrow" to see the remainder of my bookmarks. I do not wish to have it this way, I would like this "long square frame" removed , so I will finally have "room" for my bookmarks again. By the way, this frame is "Not clickable" nothing happens when you click it, and it is "NOT A SEARCH BOX" it is just a long square frame taking up space on my bookmarks bar. Can someone help. Display doesn't fit screen now. Black bar an inch wide on right side of screen on Satellite L655

The right side of my screen has a blacdk bar about an inch wid. It is like the display ends an inch before it actaully does on the right hand side. Also the taskbar is below the bottong of my screen and I cannot see it. I have tried to adjust the screen resolution and every other option the control panel offers but nothing changes it. The last time I had my laptop on it was fine. I turned it on yesterday and have had it shut down and restarted multiple times and every time since yesterday afternoon the screen is showing wrong. How do I fix this issue?

1 inch grey bar on the right side of screen and duplicate menu at bottom

i took a dying powerbook g4 dvi's lcd and put it on powerbook gigabit. the hard drive has 10.4 on it and comes from the dying powerbook dvi.
when it starts into osx there is a 1 inch gray part on right side. at the bottom there is 3/4 inch area and the menu is duplicated. so if the mouse is on top at file it will also show up at bottom simultaneously. it appears that the display is not correctly identified. in preference it is detected as color lcd. i booted in safe mode and in 9.2 with similar results.
the image is complete but it looks like 12 inch display on a 15 inch screen fitting in right upper corner of screen.
short of reinstalling the OS, any other ideas or i am dealing with incompatibilities od displays between these 2 powerbooks.

Menu Bar Application Icons Frozen Upper Right Side of Screen

After installing Snow, the right side of the menu bar is frozen. If I move the mouse to the right side, I get the spinning wheel of death. I can use my computer but I cannot use any program or option associated with an icon to the right side of the menu bar. Is there a bug? Thanks

Well, I didn't realise I had that problem until you pointed it out! And when trying to send a mailshot I found my address book was blank.
I used the solution someone posted on the thread linked to above...
Deleted USER>Library>Application Support>SyncServices folder (when I say 'deleted' I mean moved to the desktop until I was sure I wasn't breaking anything!).
I then deleted USER>Library>Application Support>AddressBook
Rebooted. Then went to System Preferences and turned on Mobile Me syncing (the pane now opens fine). This was seen as a first sync and I chose to bring all Mobile Me contacts (and everything else) back onto my machine.
Seems to be working all OK now.
Let's hope that's my last Leopard problem.... (speaking of which, I also lost all my custom Mail Stationery - not for incompatibility reasons it seems as I was able to bring them all forward in Time Machine).

Display got discolored 2" bar on right side

Hi,
A strange thing has happened. My iMacG5 20" suddenly and without apparent reason displays a discoloration of 2" wide, from top to bottom, on the right side. Inside that 2" wide bar white becomes greyish and my folders seem to be polarised. Have tried to make new account, but problem remains. This problem started lets say two weeks ago, but went away until now. Now the problem seems to persist. Is this the video problem as meant in the repair extension program? Or could it be something I can fix myself? Please advise!

to Steve: This is exactly the same problem as with my iMac. How old is yours? By the way I now know a lot more about this issue. The 20 inch LCD screen is devided into 12 segments. It appears that our iMacs suffer from a defective segment. Any of these segments can become defective or even break down completely. If that happens the broken down segment gives no image whatsoever. If you bring your iMac to Apple, like I did, they will say the screen is dead and needs to be replaced. If your machine is outside their 1 year warranty and has no extra AppleCare, they will charge you appr. 700USD for a new LCD panel (Apple part nr.661-3609) or even more for the panel in the bezel (part nr. 661-3318). The thing is that the panel used in this iMac, the LG.Philips LM201W01(A5)(K1), has a standard 3 year's limited warranty. So I am now trying to find out if a longer warranty period is applicable if the panel is not mounted in the Apple iMac. I sure hope so! Secondly, Apple could be forced by European law to extend their warranty to 2 years, that is in certain cases. But this only applies in Europe, of course.

How do I alphabatize all my bookmarks from the drop down menu with the star on the Right side of screen?

I want to alphabatize all my bookmarks that are in the drop down menu, the menu with the star icon, on the right side of the screen. I do not want to put them in folders or view them in the box from the menu bar and all the answers pertain to that box, and not to the one with the star. Thank you

I don't think it's possible from the toolbar button.
However, the action you take in the Bookmarks Sidebar or in the Library dialog will affect the Bookmarks Menu everywhere it is displayed, including the toolbar button, so you only need to use it for the few moments needed to use Sort By Name and then close it.
Bookmarks Sidebar (either):
* View menu > Sidebar > Bookmarks
* Command+b
Library dialog (either):
* Bookmarks menu > Show All Bookmarks
* Command+Shift+b
right-click "Bookmarks Menu" > Sort By Name
