Strangeness when playing the viewer backward

When shuttling backwards only in the viewer, the FCP screen will shutter, reverse colors and drop the right half of the frame. The FW out is fine. Doing the same in the viewer/tiemline the problem doesn't exist.
I asked the previous user of this computer (was a hand-me-down) if he had that problem. He didn't think so, but he wasn't sure as he didn't shuttle backwards much in the viewer.
The computer had a few changes when I acquired it. It originally had second internal drive and I now have a FW800 drive on it.
I loaded up a project off of the internal and it did the same.
The other is that it had 2 VGA monintors (output 1 on card had ADC to VGA adapter and the second output had a DVI to VGA adapter).
I now have 2 20" cinema displays, output 1 with a ADC to DVI and the second is straight DVI.
I tried placing the viewer on the other screen and it does the same.
Any ideas would be great.

Out of curiosity, what kind of media are you using?

EDIT: You must be using DV if you have FW out. Hmmm... I don't know what is causing it, but someone else recently reported a rewind problem...

When running a slideshow from an album it will not run properly if the photos are sorted manually. Sort them by any of the other options, title, date, rating, etc. and it will play correctly.
Send a report of the problem to Apple via http://www.apple.com/feedback/iphoto.html.
If you must sort them manually create the slideshow in the slideshow mode in iPhoto, not from an album.

SG asked rsayen06 several important questions to get at the core of that user's Premiere Elements issues. So far I do not see any answers to the questions. An the answers will be in those details. Although you have offered your project settings and saying that you have the same problem, they are but a small part of the troubleshooting equation.
1. What version of Premiere Elements are you using and on what computer operating system is it running?
2. You say you are putting pictures and music on the Timeline? How many pictures and what are their pixel dimensions? What type of music, what compression and file extension? What is the total duration of the Timeline content?
3. When you playback the Timeline content in the Edit Mode Monitor are you looking at the rendered or unrender Timeline?
4. When you say that you see distortion in the pictures...how are they distorted...
a. from the point of view of pixel aspect ratio, flicker, lines, other?
b. What do your computer resources look like in the way of installed and available RAM and free hard drive space? Are you getting any error messages associated with any of the project difficulties that you are encountering?
c. When you get to the burn dialog, what does the Quality Area show for Space Required and Bitrate?

Try:
- Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
- Unsync all music and resync
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.

I have downloaded a movie with subtitle to iMovie. When playing the video, the subtitle does not show up through the entire video. It happens to my Mac Air and Mac Pro.

I'm not very knowledgable on this but subtitles are sometimes on a separate track from the main movie. Try opening the downloaded video in Quicktime Player and saving it - you may be asked if you want to "flatten movie". Choose to do this. The resulting movie will probably now work OK. Others may be able to supply more comprehensive instructions.

Locale Input changes on Mac OS X Lion when changing the view state

On Mac OS X Lion, the following code results of changing the locale input when changing the view state. If you set the input locale to Pynin, then run the application, then click on "go to the test 2", the input locale changes back to english. This is obviously not the correct behavior (the input locale should stay the same as defined on the computer).

Try sharing and see if the effect is still present when you play the shared movie. It can happen when playing within iMovie if there are insufficient resources to play a full resolution.

Burning CD's works fine, BUT when playing the cd, seconds are being skipped

Burning CD's works fine here, but when I play the completed CD, every 30 seconds a second of the song is being skipped. It's like it jumps one second forward.
Any ideas for this problem?
I already tried to solve it by rebooting and burning the playlist a second, or even a third time, but even this ended up in CD's I can't use.

How does materialized view work when refresh the view vs create the view?

I am using a materialized view, and I cant set it to fast refresh because some of the tables are from remote database which does not have materialized view log.
When I create the materialized view, it took like 20 30 seconds. however when I was trying to refresh it. It took more than 2 3 hours. and total number of records are only around 460,000.
I understand that when the view refreshes, it would take extra step like purge the table however I am not sure why it made so much difference in execution time perspective...
Does the dbms_mview.refresh('MY_MATVIEW', 'C', atomic_refresh=>false) do the same exact insert as when I created the view?
Could anyone please let me know how would this happen? Thanks,

What Oracle version are you using? The 'atomic_refresh' parameter default was changed to TRUE starting with 10g.

If this parameter is set to true, then the list of materialized views is refreshed in a single transaction. All of the refreshed materialized views are updated to a single point in time. If the refresh fails for any of the materialized views, none of the materialized views are updated.
If this parameter is set to false, then each of the materialized views is refreshed in a separate transaction.

What that means is that if the value is TRUE Oracle uses a DELETE to remove the existing rows. If the value is FALSE then Oracle uses TRUNCATE.
If you really are using the FALSE setting you should not be seeing that much of a time difference between creating the MV and a complete refresh so something else must be going on.

Triggers are gone when updates the view they are on?

I found that when I updated a view, all the triggers on this view were dropped.
Is this supposed to be or I did something wrong?

To answer the second part of your question, triggers on tables are not dropped if you modify the tables, unlike when you modify views. However, if you modify the table in such a way that it invalidates the trigger, the trigger becomes invalid, but not dropped. Please see the example below.
