Strategy Plan-with different Counters??
Dear Experts,
I had a scenario, which my client want :
There are many similar equipments say "Pumps". So, for 5 similar pumps, they want a single plan which will include all 5 pumps (say in OBJECT lists). Now the thing is that 2 of the pumps are standby for some period and can be brought in running after some time or some running hours.
So, they would like to attach counters to each pump(equipment) and based on measuring documents, call object /order should generate only for those which have completed stipulated running hours.
As I didn't find to assign more than one counters in a plan, so i am unable to fulfill this demand.
Is there any way to complete this scenario???

Hello Rajesh,
You can assign multiple counter by defining the cycle set for multiple counters defined for equipment.
SAP does support Maintenane planning for equipment with multiple counter.You can define the and/or condition for multiple counters.

The PM/CS Order operations should only come from the task list that is assigned to the maintenance item.
If you are getting additional operations than are on the task list then its possible that you have:
- a system bug
- developed some new functionality

I just like to add some points here. You may need to decide based on business scenario what business have.
Single cycle plan u2013 if user will carry out same operation at regular interval then you can suggest them to use Single cycle plan. Example every one month or every 100 hrs
Strategy plan u2013 if user will carry out difference operation at different interval then you can suggest them to use Strategy plan. You have to define time based or performance based strategy in IP11 Transaction. Example inspection work after one month & replacement work after 6 month ( Time based) or inspection work after 100 hrs & replacement work after 500 hrs.( performance based)
Multiple counter plan - if the user will carry out same operation after 3 month or after 300 hrs whichever come earlier then you can suggest them to use Multiple counter plan. You have to define cycle set for IP11Z transaction.

Hi All,
Created a time based maintenance plan with strategy. Included 4 maintenance packages in the strategy. One of the maintenance package should be executed only once upon scheduling the maint. plan and should be due on the date on scheduling.
What scheduling parameters are to be maintained?

The Functionality of Offset is actually different.
Suppose you procure a new Equipment, you have erected and comissioned, but the use will anly after 3 months as the predessing and subsequent Equipment needs some time for the Erection and comissioning, in this case, you maintenance plans should start after 3 months only,
for this reason the Offsetting Field is used.
that is if you maintain the offseting of 3 months then the cycle will start after 3 months.
it means that if today is 20th December and you have a cycle frequency of 1 month and you give the offseting for 3 months then your plan will be only activated from 20th march,and the first order will be generated 1 month(cycle period) after that.
that is 20th April.

Family share plan with different contract dates
We currently have a Family Share Plan where my two daughters were added at different times, so we have 3 contract end dates within the same year. Is there any way to get these dates in synch without any penalties or changes to the plan we've been grandfathered with? It seems that any changes would penalize our family. Any ideas?

Your contract would not be broken by dropping lines. You'll remain on the same contract plan until the owner of the account(you, I assume) chooses to change plan. You can even go back to a single line "Nationwide plan" assuming you're on the Nationwide plan now.
As far as contracts you'll have to wait until they all reach the 20 months and then "upgrade" them all at the same time.
FYI, If any line has an unlimited data plan, you lose the unlimited data for that line if you upgrade at a discounted(phone) price. -
Planning With different versions
Hi Experts
We are using 001 and 000 version in Planning.
As the users input the forecast in 001 and copied to 000 Version.
There is Consensus Planning book where our users want to see Final forecast of 001 & Final forecast of 000 version in the Interactive Demand Planning.
How can we see Values of Final Forecast KF in 001 and 000 in the interactive Planning in the planning table.
There is Indicator for Version Reference of a Key Figure in the planning book , i have flagged and given reference as 000 to the Final forecast then i have assingned final forecast<variable> to the Data View.
In the interactive demand planning , i cannot see the values of 000 and 001 at a same time.
If we right click on the dataview in SDP94 then its asking variable version when i select it i can see the values of variable version only.
My requirment is to view final fcst of Version 000 and 001 at the sae time when i load data from the selection ID.
Please guide.

Thanks for sparing your time.
In this case if you want to copy into version 000, I suggest you create another Pbook/Dview with just the necessary KF. Create that KF with ref to v001. In this case the Base version will be 000 and the ref version will be 001. Hence you can now copy from 001 to 000.
Now you will see only 2 KF in your planning book, KF and KF (001). Write a macro with a simple logic of KF = KF(001). And that shud do the work.
With reference to the above message:
Created a Planning book with Final Forecast Key Figure, then in the keyfigure attributes i have given reference version as 001.
In the data view keyfigures tab i can able to see Final forecast <variable> & draged it to the dataview keyfigures and activated the dataview.
In Interactive Demand Planning I have created 2 selection with 001 & 000.
Inputed the values in 001 as follows:
Final Fcst week12= 1000
Final Fcst week13= 2000
Final Fcst week14= 3000
Created the macro Final forecast= Finalvforecast <variable>
When i excute the macro i am getting short dump.
But i cannnot see the values in the Final Forecast <Variable> also.
Please can explain me the details.
my requirment is Planners will input values in KF X in 001 version and i need to copy it to KF X 000 version fro which it releases to snp for further planning.

Can any one help me for the below issue:
We want to load ( EXCEL SHEET) planning amount through special purpose ledger against each GL account or all P&L and Balance sheet accounts, perhaps, a different value in each period.We would want to compare actual and budget figures by using T-CODE F.01.

A bit not clear requirements. You are trying to create separate accounts for Opening and Closing? Looks strange! Please, use Flow dimension for this things. Trying to emulate it on the report level will create a lot of misunderstanding...

Dear All,
I have the following requirement, would be of great help if you can help me get the solution:
Their is a pump which is to be maintained. The orders need to be generated on the basis of two parameters:
1. Number of hours the pump has ran. This can be recorded against measuring point.
2. Number of calendar days elapsed.
The maintenance order should be created which ever condition is met first. For example: Every 200 hrs the pump runs, a maintenance order should be created also if the time elapsed is 2 months the order should be created. Now whatever of the above two comes first the order should be created against that only.
Can anyone please tell how to achieve this.
I have thought of two options though they dont look good:
Option 1: Create two maintenance plan. Delete/TECO the extra order generated.
Option 2: Create one maintenance plan with multiple counters, one for running hours and the other for calendar days. Keep OR relation. But here we need to update calendar days counter every day which is not feasible.

First of all you have to create the Measuring Counter for your Pump using the T.code IK01 and then post the initial measurement document against the measuring counter using T.code IK11.
After above create the Cycle set for Multiple counter using T.Code IP11Z, and define the Cycle for your Multiple Counter Plan.
In your condition, define the cycle length as "2" and UOM as "MON" and second cycle length as "200" and UOM as "HRS" and also provide the short text for Cycle short text as per you convenience. This is one time activity.
Then create the Multiple counter Plan using the T.Code IP43 and cycle set created in earlier step. Provide the Technical Object i.e. Pump (Most probably Equipment) all other details are copied from it. Enter the created Measuring Counter for your Technical Object in the Maintenance Plan Cycle Tab against the 200 Hrs Row in Counter Columns. In the Second Tab i.e. Maintenance Plan scheduling parameter Choose "OR" Link . Enter the value Scheduling Period which help you to show the future plan in advance.
And as per requirement you can also check the box available for Completion Requirement, Check the box if you required that New Maintenance Order will not be generate until the previous order is get closed.

New Products Lunch - Planning with Planning Material
Hello All
WE Plan we planning material (strg 63).
Each finish good is assigned to a planning material and in each planning material we maintain parameters like consumption mode and consumption periods.
For products current in production this strategy works fine, but for new finish goods that are not yet in production the ,confirmation is a challenge.
Imagine a planning material that contain both types of materials, in production and a new materials that start production in month 3.
The consumption indicator is 2 (backwards and foreword) and the backward consumption period is 30 days.
if you enter a sales order today and if planning allow he gets confirmed for today even thou production only start in month 3.
Any advice to make sure SAP only confirms after the 3 month even thou planning exists before? and how to make sure that only the planning that is maintained after the production start is considered even thou the backword consumption is define to look back
any comment / suggestion is appreciated

In Planning with planning material Planning material means if there is a material which determines the profitability of the company or which is of great importance to the company.
The planning strategy "Planning with planning material" is particularly useful if you have several
finished products with the same main assemblies.
Here, you define a planning material which contains the common assembly and its BOMs.
The planning run is carried out for the planning material which triggers the production and
procurement of the planning material's components.
The sales order for a finished product which refers to the planning material reduces the planned
independent requirements of the planning material and simultaneously triggers final assembly.
When processing the sales order, you can check whether the planned independent requirements
quantities cover the demand (that is, the availability check as a check against the planned
independent requirements).
In the material master record of the planning material, you must enter strategy 60, the consumption
mode and the consumption periods. In the material master records which refer to the planning
material, you must enter the planning material as a reference and strategy 60. The consumption
periods are calculated starting from the planned independent requirements of the planning material. -
Maintenance Planning with Cycles of Different Dimensions
Hello All,
I am having trouble finding the solution for the following requirement in PLM310 "Maintenance Planning with Cycles of Different Dimensions": I am having trouble creating a maintenance strategy that can handle both time and measurement.
SImple version of the requirement: perform car maintenance every three months OR 3000 miles, whichever comes first.
I can see where SAP can handle multiple counters, but where I can mix time and performance measurements.

You can achive this in two ways.
1. If you have strategy only as you mentioned 3Months or 3000 miles then you can use T code IP43 Multiple counterplan.
2. Is you create cycle sets in IP11Z tcode and use them as like strategy. In this typr you can maintain different UOM.

I just have a few questions.
I am using the NI 6034E DAQ board in order to
generate simultaneouly 3 different TTL digital signals, with different
pulse width, and output these TTL signals to an external circuit that I
am using for this application.
The following pattern of the TTL pulses will look like this:

what I understand, I have to use the 2 counters, Ctr0 and Ctr1, to
generate the TTL pulses that I desire, because the DIO lines are
software timed only and I will not be able to produce a deterministic
output period using these DIO lines. Am I correct? Also, do I have
to use a separate counter to generate a separate TTL digital pulse. I
need 3 different TTL pulses and there are only 2 counters for this DAQ
device. The three generated TTL signals will be feed to an external
circuit. Concerning the hardware connections for my application, I
assume that the generated TTL signals will be output from
GPCTR0_OUT(pin 2) for counter 0 and GPCTR1_OUT(pin 40) for counter 1
of the NI 6034E. Is this correct? Is there any way that these TTL
signals can be output from three DIO lines(DIO0...2).

The NI 6034E is a multifuntion DAQ device, this means you have:
(2) counters
(8) DIO lines (software timed)
(16) AI, single ended
(0) Analog Output
You have a couple choices here:
1. Software timed digital output of all three signals, max 1khz loop rate, non-deterministic.
2. Hardware timed digital output of 2 signals, max 20Mhz.
3. Hardware timed digital output of 2 signals and software timed digital output of 1 signal.
4. Find another NI MIO board such as the NI 6251. This board will do 10Mhz pattern generation for (8) DIO lines.
For the hardware connection, you are correct, the output for the counters will be taken from pin 2 & pin 40. Here's the pinout for the NI 6034E for reference:
The output of the Counters can be routed to some of the PFI's or to the RTSI connector. You can see this in MAX

Single Maintenance plan creation for multiple equipemnts with different cyc
Dear Experts,
I had a following scenario to map in PM module. can anybody guide me to map this process?
we had no.of equipments under one functional location and will go through preventive maintenance on yearly basis. For this, i will create the single cycle yearly maintenance plan which comprices of maintenance items, which is fine. out of these equipments some of the equipments will go for routine maintenance like quarterly, half-yearly, tri-quarterly. user want to club these scenarios also in single preventive maintenance plan. when we scdule this plan, system has to deliver monthly orders and as well as yearly orders from single preventive maintenance plan.

It can be acheived in the following Manner.
Create a Strategy say "Test" with Packages 1M, 2M,Q,H,Y packages.
Create 5(say) Equipment Task Lista for each of the 5 Equipment at that FL.
1st Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(Q), yearly (Y)
2nd Task List will have Operations related to say Monthly(1M), Quartely(H), yearly (Y)
And so on... as per Business Requirement.
Now create a Maintenance Plan with 5 maintenance Items with respective Task Lits.
Now Schedule the Plan and give the Last Completion date as the Yearly package (A date one year less than the day you wanetd the yearly plan).
Then check the calls.

Not only queries are different but also the number of blocks read by top 10 queries are much higher on 17th than 18th.
The other big difference is the average read time on two days

You wrote with different execution plan, I think, you saw plans. It is very difficult, you get old plan.
I think Execution plans is not changed in different days, if you not added index or ...
What say ADDM report about this script?
As you know, It is normally, different Elapsed Time for same statement in different day.
It is depend your database workload.
It think you must use SQL Access and SQl Tuning advisor for this script.
You can get solution for slow running problem.

Multiple DB env with different explain plan

I have DEV DB and QA DB , both located in USA. There is a table called Customer which contains the respective index , pk, constraints, etc which is available in
both the environments. Now In DEV DB we have Customer table with 1000 records, but in QA DB we have about 50000 records.
Now in DEV DB when i take a explain plan the columns are not going for a FULL table scan but in QA DB it is going for a full table scan? Why there is a discrepancies? Is it because of the number of records in QA is more than DEV? I hope that wont be a problem as Oracle CBO/RBO will optimize the query by itself for both the cases using the index, etc. If that is the case I am wondering what might me the problem. Whether we need to inform the Oracle using the hints? Please shed some light into this.
Thanks.First of all it is a good idea to compare the execution plans from differnt environments. Not all developers do that. The cost or time can not be properly compared, but the plan itself yes. if the plan is different, then the behaviour of the query very likely also is different.
What you didn't show us was the query and the two different plans. Maybe in a broken down test version.
What is strange is that I would have expected a reversed behaviour. In the dev db you have only 1000 records. Usually the db will do a FULL table scan on this. Simply because the amount of data is so small that it is othen faster to read the table in one big chuck and then deal with it. The parameter db_multiblock_read_count plays a role in that. If it does instead an table access by index rowid then that is fine.
If you QA Db now uses a "full table scan" instead of the "table access by index rowid" that it is something to think about. Possible reasons can be: Not current statistics. For example do you have an automatic job that collects statistics? Maybe this job didn't run yet, after you imported the data? To use hints as a solution would be wrong. However you can use hints to see, if the performace of the query improves after using the hint. If it does, then the CBO didn't have good enough information. If it doesn't then the CBO already made the right decision. -
Putaway Strategy I, not allowing second material with different batch

Capacity check - 4
Mixed storage: X
Addition to existing stock: X
Storage section check -active
Storage bin created for the storage section in the storage type 401
Maximum capacity maintained in Storage bin
In material master WM view 1- maintained capacity.
When system is correctly finding Bin for First material / Batch combination
But when I am trying to create TO for same material with different batch it does not find storage bin - even the storage bin capacity is still remaining
Also it is not accepting second material in same bin.
The only requirement to have startegy I is that same materials can be placed in same Bins (sorry but dont need fixed bin)

You are correct I forgot to mention that in my earlier reply. Actually with out storage unit you can store only one quant in a Bin. So it can add stock to the same quant if we use addition to existing sock feature. If the material batch combination changes it cannot use the same quant, so it wont be able to add the stock to existing quant. If a new quant is to be stored in the same BIN it has to be storage unit managed. To in nutshell multi material multi batch your scenario can be achieved with storage unit managed storage type.
