How does one steam music, video, pictures from an iPhone or iPad to the Apple TV?

GeOph is correct. Streaming from an iPad/iPhone/iTouch to the ATV2 will not happen until 4.2 is released. Steve Jobs said this should happen in November 2010.
You can stream from iTunes to your ATV2 now: audio and video.
With iDevices, and the Apple Remote, you can control Itunes and ATV2 now, just can't stream to them.

No you cannot. The only Blutooth support for the ATV is keyboards.
AirPlay requires the ATV and source (iPhone/iPad/computer) be on the same network, wired or wireless.

They are free if you have activated a new iOS 7 compatible device since 1st September 2013. When did you buy and activate your iPad and/or iPhone ? If on or after that date then try logging out of your account on that device by tapping on your id at the bottom of the Featured tab in the App Store app and then log back in and see if it then shows as free on it

We have 3 iPads 3 iPhones 3 Apple id's. We want to use 1 calendar we can all access on each device and have each device update or sync and we all receive notifications from the one calendar. We do not want to share photos contacts, ect. Please help

We would like all 6 devices to provide notifcations from the one unique calendar as well. We do not want to share contacts, photos, ect. If I understand correctly you want all 6 devices to have access to a single calendar that each device gets notifications for and can edit. You can do that with an private iCloud shared calendar. First sign into www.icloud.com and use these steps from the following article to share a calendar:
iCloud: Share a calendar with others
Share a calendar privately
Click the Share button to the right of the calendar name in the sidebar, then select Private Calendar.
Note: You can also share the same calendar publicly. For instructions, see the next task, “Share a calendar publicly.”
Type the invitee’s email address in the Add Person field and press Return.
Click the pop-up menu with the invitee’s name and choose access privileges (View & Edit or View Only).
For each person you want to share the calendar with, repeat steps 2 and 3.
When you’ve invited everyone and set their privileges, click OK.
Invitation emails are sent from your iCloud email address to the participants you specified.

Winston is correct you may want to consider a multiplexer its what places like bars restaruants usse when the wat several tvs to use the same imput. is cheaper then several apple tvs hers one at $132.74 i have never used it but searced google and found it would give you up to 8 tvs of one HDMI signal.

Cannot stream iPad 2 to to Apple TV2

I am trying without success to get my iPad 2 to stream movies purchased on iTunes to Apple TV. When I try to do this I get the "content not authorized" message from ATV. I can stream all my other content (music, presentations etc from iPad). I can also stream all content including movies from my Mac to ATV. I am doing all this on a wi-fi network which is not connected to the internet, as we are in a remote location in Africa. Home sharing is enabled on both iPad and Mac. Any solutions please?

Yes, this is strange. I could not playback protected content at all on AppleTV2 from Mac mini without internet in February this year due to authorisation error - maybe this has been relaxed a bit.
Presumably you are trying to Airplay the movies from iPad - maybe this requires the authorisation as it is not Home Sharing per se but sending to an Airplay device, and it wants to check you're not showing a movie on someone else's AppleTV?
Whatever the cause this is very frustrating.

Problem streaming music from Iphone through Apple TV2 to receiver

I have an apple TV connected via Audio Optical cable to my receiver. When I play movies from my Iphone, the sound is fine. But when I want to play music, no sound is coming out. I start the music then select Apple TV as output but still nothing.

Too whom it may interest, I found the cure. I unpluged the Apple TV2 from power and repluged it after 5 minutes and rebooted my Iphone 4. Problem solved.

You can each have your own ID for your own iTunes accounts, but in order for a device to stream via AirPlay to the same Apple TV, everything must use the same homesharing ID. This is not the same as your iTunes account ID (although it can be for one of the devices)

I had a one on one with my apple rep yesterday. They backed up my camera roll from my iphone as well as my ipad on my computer as I was not able to backup to icloud due to lack of space.
They advised me to delete photos from my photo stream on my iphone and ipad and then do a back up.
I deleted the photos from photo stream on my iphone and ipad.
I was able to backup my iphone but NOT my ipad as it is saying that there is not enough room on icloud to do this back up.
Any solution?
