Stream media from PC to BB 9360 ?

Hi, simple enough question, rather than having to copy over all my tunes to my curve, I would prefer to just strream them from my pc's wmp dlna server. Anyone familar with htc android phones will know how easy and simple this is to do on these devices. But how can one do it on a blackberry, I see they added a file sharing feature in os7.1 but all it seems to do is share media from my bb to my pc (stupest thing ever, as there is a much greater chance that one's music is on their pc not their phone ) Any ideas ? Thx

If you have a Blackberry Desktop Software, you can look for the Wireless Music Sync, you can also stream music there on DLNA.

  • Streaming media from wireless external hard drive and MBP to TV?

    Hi everyone. I have a retina MBP and have recently bought a Sony Bravia smart tv with wireless. I have a time machine (the new one) with an external hard drive connected to it with all my media, photo, movies etc. My tv is connected to my wireless from the time machine and I'm wondering how do I stream media from my external hard drive to my tv? And how do I stream media from my MBP to my tv wirelessly? I can't seem to figure it out. Also mirroring my MBP desktop to my tv wirelessly, can it be done without an apple tv? Thanks in advance.

    I had the same issue. It was due to the appalling performance of the USB connection to the disk, not any issue with the wireless connection itself. My iMac was within 7m of the router, on the same floor, with a clear line of sight and good reported connection speed. I have the latest late-2009 version of the AEBS running the 7.5 firmware. This has loads of performance problems (read these forums). I'm hoping that Apple will release the new firmware (7.51) for download soon and then the issue may be resolved.

    Can I connect 2 sony bravia's, a sony home theatre, 2 macbooks, 2 ipads, 3 iphones and a dell laptop and stream media from my apple devices to my tv? I have a sony bravia 600 series and 700 series and a home theatre( sony 7100 series)

    The only way to stream directly to your TV would be if it is an AirPlay-enabled device.
    There are many AirPlay-enabled devices but I am not familiar with Sony's products. If yours do not specifically indicate AirPlay capability, then you need an AirPlay-enabled device such as an AppleTV connected to your Sony TV or Sony AVR.

  • Streaming media from PC to XBOX 360 via BT Router ...

    Hi,
    I've just moved house, I used to be with SKY BB and I've never had any issues streaming media from my PC to my XBOX.
    I have tried everything I can think of (I have even restored my PC) but then I realised that the only thing that is different is my router?
    I'm connected from the PC to the router via WiFi
    My XBOX is connected via a cable directly into the router.
    But the XBOX can not detect the PC
    But my PC can see the XBOX
    'My Videos' - 'My Music' - & Media Centre does not work on the XBOX
    (Yes, all of my folders are shared, in the past I have done this 100's of times)
    am I missing something? Is there a setting on the router that needs changing??
    Many Thanks
    Ben

    The IP subnet for the home hub is different than your Sky router, so you may need to make some changes to your device settings.
    If its a home hub 4, then this thread may also help.

  • WRT54GS cannot connect to windows media center with xbox360/can stream media from PC to x-box

    - running win XP MCE and set up xb 360 on  wireless router WRT54GS  updated from V1 to V 4.71.4 .  PC  wired to  router and  DSL signal  goes by wire from wall to modem, router, PC.  I can   stream media through xbox but not make the WMC connection.  I still get the"xbox360 not found on network".  I have gone through x-box set up page and installed the setup files.  I excluded  windows firewall as a problem.     I can connect to Xbox live and  xbox live/media tests on the xbox run w/o any failures.

    Thanks for your reply   Yes, I can connect to Xbox live from x box w/o diff.  It seems that the xbox can "see" the PC but the PC cannot "see" the xbox.  My PC is XP not Vista.

  • I want to stream media from a NAS drive connected to my Time Capsule.

    I recently bought the Time Capsule to serve as my backup and my wireless router.  Both of my Macs are now using it via Time Machine.  I now want to move my large ITunes and IPhoto databases from an external hard drive on one Mac to a network drive where I can stream/view from either Mac.  What is the best way to do this?
    1.  Buy a NAS drive with just ethernet and connect to one of the three port on the Time Capsule?  If so, what is the best drive to buy?
    2.  Use a USB drive and attack to the USP port on the Time Capsule?  If so, will any USB drive work?
    3.  Other?

    i recently moved my iTunes library to a NAS. i'm very happy with performance.
    have a look at this discussion.
    as for iPhoto, all i have is a link to a recent discuss over atthe Apple TV forum but don't know how relevant it is: https://discussions.apple.com/message/15366429#15366429

    as long as the drive is properly formatted, yes. you may need to use a powered USB hub. the USB connection may or may not be a bottleneck as compared to full gigabit speed of the NAS.

  • Cannot Stream Media from 8.1.7 with RealServer 8.0

    to reflect my local machine. Started servce: Loaded Admin Page.
    Worked.
    Stopped RMServer, Downloaded Oracle's Plugin and placed it into
    the RealServer\Pluggins directory.
    Downloaded the Test sample (Racecar and Film Clip). Modified
    the test.html (two links) to point to my local machine.
    Started RM Server. No Errors in log other than it was not

    I tested the RealPlayer by just playing a file that is in the
    ProgramFiles\Real\RealServer\Content. I typed in the URL the
    following:rtsp://127.0.0.1:554/real8audio.rm. This worked.
    Please Help.
    Chase.

    If I look in qtff3260.dll in the plugins directory, I see a mimetype of application/x-pn-quicktime-stream there. I assume that this is the mimetype that realserver expects.
    I typically use the strings command with grep to discover the necessary mimetype for a particular file format from the shared objects (or DLLs) in the realserver plugins directory since real does not publish this information.
    Try the above mimetype and see if it works. I have streamed quicktime from realserver to a quicktime player in the past.
    I would suggest mimetype mapping be used in a PL/SQL procedure used by the plugin.
    For example:
    create or replace procedure GetVideo
    (DATA OUT BLOB,
    MIMETYPE OUT VARCHAR2,
    ID IN NUMBER )
    is
    MT VARCHAR2;
    begin
    select t.video.GetContent(),
    t.video.GetMimeType()
    into
    DATA,
    MT
    from movies t
    where t.item_ID = ID;
    -- Mimetype mapping
    if INSTR(MT,'real') > 0
    MIMETYPE := 'audio/x-pn-realaudio';
    elif INSTR(MT,'qt') > 0 or INSTR(MT,'quicktime') > 0
    MIMETYPE := 'application/x-pn-quicktime-stream';
    -- Any other formats you might want to support here
    else
    MIMETYPE := MT;
    endif
    end;

  • Stream media from Laptop to TV...HELP!!

    I am cutting my cable and want to watch shows/movies online by connecting my laptop to my HDTV.  Laptop only has VGA (TV does also).  I want to maintain quality picture and sound but not sure how to go about this.  Can it be done wirelessly?  If so, what products do you recommend.  I'm completely new to this!
    I just bought a Roku but I'm already missing some of my shows that are only available online (not available through Netflix, Hulu Plus, etc).  Maybe the Roku was not the best option...
    Thanks!

    Analog Quality "VGA" is not half bad at all at the highest resolution. Find yourself a good cable that shields from interference etc. You will also need a Line In, cable to go from the headphone jack on your laptop to the audio in , input usually located next to the VGA port on the television. It should be color coded.

  • Can you stream media from your IPhone4 to a PC?

    I would like to stream video and audio from my IPhone 4 to my Wndows 7 Pro PC, either by Bluetooth or WiFi. Cant find anything about how to do this. Any help would be great!

    Contacts are designed to be synced with a supported address book application on your computer. With XP, this can be with Outlook 2003, 2007, or with 2010 if 2010 is supported with XP along with syncing calendar events and notes, or with the address book app used by Outlook Express called Windows Contacts for syncing contacts only. Not a good idea to depend on your iPhone or on any cell phone alone for this data which can be lost or stolen.
    If you don't have Outlook available and you don't use Windows Contacts - Windows Contacts is empty, before the first sync for this data, enter one contact in Windows Contacts. This will provide a merge prompt with the first sync for this data, which you want to select. Syncing contacts with Windows Contacts is selected under the Info tab for your iPhone sync preferences with iTunes.

  • Options for streaming media from my macbook to my tv?

    Hello All, I am a novice when it comes to this kind of stuff so bear with me!
    I have a macbook pro (Mid 2012) and a Panasonic Flat TV - I currently use a cable from my macbook to my tv for watching video files of all kinds and to watch netflix (where I use Hola to watch netflix from other countries), I also currently use it as a dvd player (but this isn't necessary in a future set up)
    What I would like is a wireless version of this setup but with the ability to still use my macbook whilst the media is being played. Is this possible? (I have a wi fi router)
    I have looked into AppleTV but as far as I can make out, this only uses mirroring so I would not be able to continue using my macbook to surf the web for example, and because it plays via itunes I would have to convert a lot of my video files to mpeg-4 which I'd rather not do. Am I correct in thinking this?
    I have also considered a wifi blu ray player like the Sony BDPS3100 which would allow me to play most of my files as is but I'm not sure how the technology works, as in is it mirroring too or could I continue using my macbook?
    Any info on the above or any other options I haven't thought of would be appreciated!

  • Can you stream media from NAS with iTunes Server to Apple TV?

    Hello to all of my trusty Appleoids!
    Now, I'm stuck in a bit of a dilemma.... And I'm hoping you can help....
    My Apple addiction started in Jan 10 when I purchased an iPod Touch - As you can appreciate, I was totally blown away.... From that point on, my Samsung Tocco Lite seemed like a daily insult to technology. Not just technology, but free-thinkining innovation! Four months later I became the proud owner of an iPhone 3GS, and the MacBook Pro accidentally let himself in whilst I was totally gazing in the opposite direction! . The fact I was then hunted down and tormented by the Airport Express, and headhunted by Mr Apple TV, means that I resemble someone from a chaotic 80's movie.... I'm running, constantly being chased, yet sympathise with my controller......
    As a result, I might have accidentally purchased an iPad2 today...... Ooooops! Well, if it's true what they say about 'an apple a day', then my doctor has left the country, never to be seen again!!!
    I have a large amount of media on my MacBook Pro, I use MobileMe/iCloud to sync the basics (apps etc). I desperately need to back-up my data, and intend to... Just as soon as I can decide on what media to use.
    Now, my Apple affinity says Time Capsule, however the user ratings are an epic fail... Secondly, I'd like to access the files (film/music/photos) via Apple TV. Preferably I'd like to not have to wake up the MacBook each time.
    In the future (without travelling at 88 miles per hour, and relying on a clock strike), I'd like to get a Sonos system throughout my house......
    Now here's my question.....
    What's compatible with Apple TV 2/iPhone/iPad2/MacBook/Airport Express/iTouch Remote?
    Can anyone provide advice on how I can get it all singing to the same tune? If you could email me a wiring (including wireless) diagram with how it works, I'd be eternally greatful!
    Now remember, an Apple a-day keeps Dr Gates away!
    Many thanks in advance,
    Kat

    In regards to using Sonos in your home with Apple Tv... http://www.sonos.com/airplay/
    The sound output settings need to be set to your Sonos.
    Well Airplay and Home Sharing are different completely... I have Airplay but dont use Home Share.
    If Airplay fails or doesnt show the Apple Tv its usually the network your on but it can be due to your iPhone or Apple Tv not being up to date. double check the updates then check to see the network is WPA 2 and restart all devices after updating.
    For homesharing; iTunes must be allowed to contact Apple using the
    following ports and servers: port 80 & 443

      1. Using a SONOS CONTROL, select the ZonePlayer Settings menu from the Settings menu (iPhone, iPad, or Android, SONOS CONTROL) or Zones menu (PC or Mac).
         2. Select the name of the Sonos component the AirPort is connected with and update the following Line-in settings:
              * Line-in Source Name: AirPlay Device.
              * Autoplay Zone: Select a Zone from the list to play audio from the AirPlay device. Select Include Grouped Zones and any Zones grouped with the Autoplay Zone will play the same music.
              * Autoplay Volume: Use the slider to set a default volume for the Autoplay zone whenever the AirPlay device is connected. Check the Use AutoPlay Volume checkbox if you intend to use your AirPlay device to adjust the volume in the Autoplay Zone.
         3. AirPlay is now ready for use with Sonos. Tap the AirPlay icon on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or in iTunes and select Sonos. The AirPlay audio will play in the AutoPlay Zone.

  • How can i play m3u streaming media from internet ?

    i want to buy a new macbook, but also i want to play m3u or pls palylist from internet, is there any plug-in ?

    There is a URL behind that playlist you are selecting. When you click on the playlist then, it should download a file (.m3u, .mp3, etc) and that file should open the stream in iTunes.

  • Stream content from iTunes to AppleTV and Airport Express

    I have an Apple TV in family room which is wirelessly connected to my home network. I also have a PC connected via Ethernet to my network. All my music is stored on an external drive connected to my PC (I don’t store any media on the ATV, as my music is well over 400GB). This setup works great, and allows me to stream content from the external drive to my ATV which is connected to a stereo.
    Next, I purchased an Airport Express, connected it to a second stereo in my basement. After spending 3 hours trying to get it connected to my network, (I had to disable all wireless encryption, and use MAC filtering to keep network secure), I am now able to stream media from iTunes on the PC, to the stereo connected to the Airport Express.
    What I would like to do now, is be able to select a song from the Apple TV (using ATV remote, or iPhone Remote), and have it play in both places. Since the media itself is coming from iTunes running on the PC with the external drive, and it gets streamed from there to Apple TV, how can I also stream the same content to the Airport Express?
    The folks at the Apple store say this is a feature, but no one seems to know how to make it work. I have also read hundreds of posts online, and some say you can do this, others say you cannot. All of those who say it is not possible, state you cannot stream from ATV to AE, but in my case, the media is not on the ATV, it is on the PC, and I just want to use ATV to select the song. From there, it would be iTunes that would send the content to both the ATV and the AE.
    Can someone help myself and many others put this question to rest - can it be done, or not?

    Thanks for the reply. Just as you indicated, I figured out how to use iPhone remote to tell iTunes on PC to output to Express, Apple TV and PC, and that works great - I can even turn on/off any of the speakers from the iPhone - this is so COOL!
    While you answered the question, I am curious about the architecture of all this...If the media is actually on the PC and is controlled by iTunes, isn't the Apple TV doing the same thing as the iPhone Remote - just telling iTunes what to play, and iTunes sends the content to whatever speakers are defined? Keeping that thought, if you can control iTunes via iPhone Remote, and the content will play on any speakers you select, then it would make sense that you could do the same thing with the Apple TV menu - tell iTunes what to play, and let iTunes send to whatever speakers you have selected.
