Streamed audio wont work

iTunes, and downloaded movies play sound, but streamed audio, and movies, don't. Never had this problem before.

It is possible that some other program has changed your sound preferences without your knowing. It has happened to me before and there are two fixes. You can either change the sound prefs back manually, as outlined HERE or you can open Garage Band and play a loop - any loop will do. I have been told that simply opening GB will do the trick, but opening a loop is sure to reset those prefs.
Let us know if that works and if not, perhaps others can chime in.

Help getting streaming audio to work?

I am a new user to Mac OS as of a few weeks ago. I'm making the transition fairly well.
Using Safari, I can't get streaming audio to work on my hometown radio show.
Here's the link to the home page... http://www.kdkaradio.com/ Near the top right of the page is a button to listen live.
I read somewhere that you have to have Windows Media Player installed and I did that and it still doesn't work. I thought you might need a plugin with Firefox and I can't get it to work either.
Any help would be greatly appreciated,

To your question:
Windows Media Player does not play natively on Intel
machines. You need to use the free
Flip4Mac plug-in as a
substitute for WMP. Microsoft has stated they do not
plan to create a Universal Binary app. for the
Windows Media Player.
On my machine:
No go on Safari. When I select "live" I get to the
page showing a template of a music player, but no
sound.
On Firefox, a separate sound panel opens, however,
the feed stops before sound occurs. Strange though,
the various highlight feeds do play with no problem.
I suggest you contact the web developer at the
station for clarification regarding the Mac
platform, and just what is compatible with their
content stream.
I'm using Flip4Mac in place of WMP.

I'll have to check out your book suggestion.
I am still getting the same error, page not found when trying to listen live. All the other feeds work fine. I emailed the radio station to see if they could resolve the problem.

Streaming audio not working in IE (works in Firefox)

EDIT: Problem solved. I upgraded to the latest version of the
Flash player, and audio now works.
I'm currently working on a presentation, and use SWFObject to
run it in a browser. You can see it here...

The SWF streams an audio track (MP3). This works just fine
inside the Flash development environment, and in Firefox. In IE I
can view the presentation, but get no sound.
I can directly reference the audio track in IE, and it plays
just fine in Quicktime. To further check this wasn't a general
audio problem in IE, I ran a YouTube video, and that worked just
fine.
Any ideas on what the problem is?

I'm going through Classroom in a Book for ActionScript 3.0 and I'm having the same problems. I beat my brains out trying to figure out why my simple link to the Flash site wouldn't work, only to find out the completed files didn't work either. They do seem to work in Safari so I'm guessing it's some kind of security setting ? It lauches the browser but just sits there without opening any URL.
Anyone got an answer for this ?

Adobe flash player update stalls during installation.

Director 11 Vista DVD Audio wont work

I'm just migrating an old hybrid DVD project from Director MX
2004 to Director 11 and have discovered that the sound in Vista
wont work but only for the DVD playback, wav playback works fine,
the strangest thing is while director is playing the DVD movie, i
can't click on the sound mixer in Vista.
I'm no director expert but it seems more like a bug than
something wrong with the lingo script on the volume control. I've
updated my audio drivers, turned off all the output devices except
for the stereo headphone jack. Even starting a new clean project
and trying dvd playback the audio doesn't work. Has anyone else
encountered something like this?

Onboard Audio wont work; Audigy 2 ZS is instal

Ever since I have installed the Audigy 2 ZS sound card and installed the drivers, I have not been able to use my onboard speaker slots on the side of my computer case, and the ones on the motherboard, before having the Audigy 2 ZS sound card, both the side and motherboard audio worked. The reason for doing so, so I can have my headset hooked up, while my speakers are hooked up.

May I ask why you can plug your headphones into your new soundblaster card?

Remember by still running the on board sound you are still losing CPU cycles to accomodate this.

Live Streaming audio not working

I have a HP Pavilion Elite m9040n with Vista that is not giving me AUDIO on a LIVE STREAMING site where I am taking Continuing Education webcast. I am using Mozilla Firefox and did put in the newest plugin. I can hear u-tube audio (those video load very slowly and stop and start). I have Hughes Net satellite broadband connection. I tried disabling my McAfee while doing the program but that did not help.

What version do you see for Flash in System Preferences > Flash > Advanced

Video Stream App wont work

After realising that iCloud doesnt upload videos I purchased the Video Stream app recomended.
When I open it it gives the option to upload a video. I do this, the video starts uploading (it says uploading video), then everything stops and it goes back to the screen saying 'no uploaded videos'. Any ideas?

Streaming audio apps don't work after 10.1

Since updating my Z10 and my wife's Z10 to 10.1 on Telus none of the streaming audio apps work over LTE or HSPA+. Songza, 8tracks, slacker and nobex all stop playing music after a couple of minutes unless I tell them to play again. Help please.

is your Z10 SIM-locked? If no, can you try with a SIM card not from Telus?
Maybe you can also give Telus a call and ask them about the streaming. Do they allow it?

IPhone 5: Audio no working

Okay, now I'm pretty peeved---switched to iPhone 5 after years of bb's being slow and crashing. I figured, well, the 5th gen has to have all the kinks worked out, right? And I'm a surgeon and use it as a pager as well---so it can have absolutely NO failures in performance.
Here I am, 2 months after I bought the phone---and the AUDIO WONT WORK for alerts!!! This is rediculous- I can use speaker when making a call so I know its not the hardware, but no alerts, no audio on the apps, no typing clicks, no locking clicks, nothing. I was on a phone call on my headset last when it worked. After I took the headset out, nothing.
This is absolutely sad. I read through the forums---and tried every and any recommendations---resets, restores, headjack insertion and removal...etc. none have worked.
And now I have to waste hours I don't have at the wireless company's store hoping they can fix it (which they probably wont).
Are there any other online apps or programs I can consider to fix this?

Honestly, this is a WAG but try a system reset. It cures many ills and it's quick, easy and harmless...
Hold down the on/off switch and the Home button simultaneously until the screen blacks out or you see the Apple logo. Ignore the "Slide to power off" text if it appears. You will not lose any apps, data, music, movies, settings, etc.

Thanks restoring and restarting didn't fix my problem - i have started it fresh and still it doesn't work. Basically I press ONCE on the remote, after the machine has not had any commands for 10 minutes, and the cursor skips from one end of the menu to the other - so I can't choose network or update software etc - I sometimes manage to stop it randomly in the middle of the menu if I press on a command in the middle of the cursor skipping all the menu steps...not sure what the problem is but I have basically not used my brand new apple tv since I bought it for that reason! I should call Apple support I suppose! grrrr hate wasting time with stuff like this!

Garage band wont work, need to install midi or audio drivers?

tried backing up my comp to install OSX leopard but failed. now garage band wont work! I keep getting this message...also want to know if its possible to upgrade to osx leopard with a 4th gen macbook that runs osx 10.4.11

Im having the same problem, I upgraded my IMAC and was using tiger and I upgraded it to MAC 10.5.7, now GarageBand wont work saying my midi and audio drivers arent correct. My Reason 4.0 wont start either saying the same thing failed to open the midi library. My Protools works fine but I dont know how to update the audio and midi drivers that it matches the software I uploaded. I also went to the audio midi set up and it read, Audio MIDI Setup was unable to launch the MIDI Server. This means that you will be unable to view or edit your MIDI configurations.
Improperly written MIDI drivers can prevent the MIDI Server from launching successfully. If you have recently installed a new MIDI driver, try uninstalling it and then relaunching Audio MIDI Setup. If Audio MIDI Setup works correctly after that, then please contact the driver's manufacturer for further support.

iOS devices do not pair with computers, as data transfer over bluetooth is not supported.
Computers are not airplay compatible unless you have downloaded an app to make them so.
User to user forum, so I don't care if you switch to android or any other threats you make.

Streaming Audio Works Fine...But Won't Stream Video

Just bought an ATV2 earlier today, and I'm experiencing an odd problem: I can stream audio but not video.
My Mac desktop computer is in a different room from my ATV2 and TV setup. I downloaded the Remote App onto my iPhone, turned on Home Sharing, and things work fine for the most part. When I use the Remote App to stream music and audio podcasts to my TV, I have no problem. But when I try to stream video from iTunes (including movies, music videos, and TV shows I purchased in iTunes on the computer) the videos start playing on the computer instead of the TV.
In other words, the Remote App on my iPhone seems to be controlling the ATV2 for audio content, but it's controlling the computer for video content.
All my video content in iTunes is in the .MP4 format. Can't figure out what step or setting I might be missing.
Any thoughts on this?

Has it ever worked? Hold volume down (-) while pressing power button. That takes you to BIOS (CMOS setup). Follow the menus for Windows reinstall.
