Streamin too slow while viewing a video on the web

Does anyone have a paractical solution to solve the quoted problem ahead ? My iMac is mountain Lion (OSX 10.8.2) an my internet connection is perfect. I did not encounter this problem with my previous iMac (Leopard)

Firefox uses two caches, a disk cache and a memory cache.<br />
You can find the location of the two caches on the about:cache page (open that page via the location bar like a website).<br />
Only large image and media files are stored as individual files on disk.<br />
Other files are stored in a few large container files (_CACHE_XXX_) in the cache folder and not as separate files on disk.<br />
The individual files on disk have random names without a file extension for security reasons: you can't open an application or start a downloaded virus inadvertently by clicking a file in the cache folder.
You can look at this extension for easier access to files in the cache.

  • Problem with InDesign CC redrawing the screen too slow while using Zoom tool

Hello. I got a problem with InDesign CC redrawing the screen too slow while using Zoom tool. Sometimes it takes more than a secong to zoom in or out. However InDesign CS6, Photoshop CC, Illustrator CC works just fine. What could be the problem, videocard or something else? Below is my PC configuration: OS Windows 8 Pro (x64); processor Intel Core i7 2600k CPU 3,40GHz; video adapter NVIDIA GeForse GTS 450; monitor NEC PA271W (2560x1440).

Yes it’s a bug. The trick is to select the tool and then left click the photo information strip and hold for a few seconds until you see the windows bar at the top of the screen (not responding)
The lasso tool should then work normally.

  • Viewing embedded video on the touch problems

I post quicktime videos on my web page. They are encoded in h.264 the audio is ACC. I use Apples approved javascript solution for posting Quicktime Videos to the web to avoid problems with Internet Explorer that began a couple of years ago. I recently got an iPod Touch and tried to view the videos at my site but it doesn't work. I can view apple trailers and I assume they also use the javascript, does anyone know. I can also view video that use the old embed method without the javascript, or just a link to the video works. Does anyone have any suggestions. My site is http://onegoodmove.org

do you see the picture and touch it or are you touching the download link?

The Firefox icon is the default feature for Windows Vista and 7 only, it does not apply to Windows XP users.
To have the Firefox icon instead of the Menu Bar:
View > Toolbars and UNCHECK the Menu Bar.
After that, click on the Firefox icon and you'll have the Menu Bar appear again.

I am new at Captivate 8 and I have created a learning project using an existing power point presentation.  I have added a button that will allow my students to view a video on the subject.  When I run the project in Preview the button works but when I publish it, it stops working.

I added an Interactions button and in the Actions on Success I open an URL or file. I have placed the video on our web server.   In the URL I point to our web server "http://www.wmabhs.org/Media/Add Client 3rd Party Coverage.mp4".  If I run this from any browser it works.  So what do you think I have done wrong?

  • I can't  pre view my videos on the finder OS X Mavericks

I want view my videos on the finder but since I have Mavericks, I can't

Are you using the install DVD that came with that computer or a retail version of OS X? If you are, then I would say you have a hardware issue--possibly some bad RAM.

  • What is the best way to compress longer HD videos for the web

I am struggling with the best way to post HD, as well as SD videos to the web - Vimeo as well as YouTube sites.  Some of my files are up to an hour long, and above.
I've tried mp4, H.264 compression, multi-pass, as well as ProRes in various settings.  The files are either too small or too large.  I have an stand-alone Flash encoder, but it seems to take an inordinate amount of time.
My computer only has a Duo Core - its the first Intel processor. Is it too slow to process these large Video files?
ANY advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Peter

as well as YouTube sites.  Some of my files are up to an hour long, and above.
There are quite a few videos on YouTube that are up to 3 hours long.  If you are having issues uploading long YouTube movies, have you contacted their tech support?

  • HD video on the web? Question. Need help

We just started producing HD video. Coming from SD video. In today’s web age can’t most people in the U.S. view 720p video on the internet?
Our company produces instructional videos that get delivered to the clients by DVD but we also have moved forward to viewing online. My problem is I’m not sure how to approach my web guy about HD video over the web. I would say most of our clients have a fast connection. He is asking for all the old SD videos and me to convert them to .webm/.ogm/.mp4 so he’s doing HTML5. How does this work with HD so the client can have that as an option? He is asking for 400 kbps for our current SD videos and he gets worried when a video is like 60MB so that worries me that he doesn’t know much.
How does bitrate work with HD video? How should we provide it?

Thanks. This was my web guy's response (below). Our current videos (SD) are around 450kbps. I'm testing out exporting an H.264 720p (8 mins long) at 1.3 Mbps and the file size is only about double and looks pretty good. How should i respond? agggg
Using the HD option will eat our servers alive.
HD is typically delivered on blueray, not dvd, and your talking about 25 gigs on a blueray dvd…  The web servers use more expensive hard drives to where the amount of space needed and cost would triple the hosting that we use.
With increased file size comes with increased bandwidth.  Again, we use around 500-750GB a month during the busy season , if the video is 10 times the size, we will use 10 times the amount of bandwidth.
In all reality, we pay about $500 a month for our current hosting environment.  If we wanted to upgrade to an environment that we can stream hd video, we’d be looking at no less than $2000-3000 a month, maybe more.

Anybody else tired of not being able to play half the videos on the web with your Apple products - just a rant.  Thanks

Constant problems: asking for password, not retrieving mail from the server, leaving things in the outbox. Then it can be fine for days. iPad and iPhone apps sometimes hang for a bit as well.
A friend just bought an iMac and has had nothing but trouble with ROGERS mail. Support guy walked us through the whole set up today and everything was fine for a while and then it just quit.
I am wondering if having an IPad, computer and phone all communicating with server at the same time causes problems.

  • An error occurred while trying to communicate with the web browser.

I have opened a PDF in the Acrobat reader V 8.2.4. It has live links.
Only the FF browser is open.
When I click a link in the PDF, I successfully get the message 'The document is trying to connect to...' which I allow and then successfully hyperlink to the web page displayed in FF.
When I click an image in the PDF, which has a url attached to it, I get the message 'An error occurred while trying to communicate with the web browser.'
[Sorry to say in IE7 when I click the image, I hyperlink to the web page like I do when I click the link.]
Question is: What setting or other step do I need to take with FF so when I click the image in the PDF I link to a web page like I do when I click the link in the PDF?
    Thank you!

  • HT201177 I can't play videos on the web - they just stall - stop and start.

when I am playing videos on the web, Vimeo for example, they play for about one or two seconds and stall.  Then they play another one or two seconds and so on for the entire video.  I have no means of changing the download size in safari preferences.  I am at a loss what to do.  i know of no-one else with this difficulty and the Microsoft laptop on the same broadband router dos not have this problem.

Empty the Cache, and you can also try the RE-SET Safari option from the menu-bar.

  • Quicktime Pro and getting videos off the web

I am bound and determined to get videos off the web and use them to make my own videos and what not. I was wondering if quicktime pro is the best program to use for my project. I have downloaded other programs that don't work and I am sick of the hassle. If there is a sure thing program anyone knows about, I'd love to know. Otherwise, it would be great to hear about quicktime pro and it's adeptness or otherwise at successfully getting videos off the web.

Okay I figured out how to do that, but once it is downloaded, I am still having trouble. I don't know which application to use to open the file. Quicktime won't open it because it says it's not a movie file. I downloaded a standalone player and that couldn't open it either. What do I do?
