Streaming audio radio

I was previously with Optimum Online before and was able to stream radio from www.cmatt.com.  Now that I have Verizon Fios, I get an error message on Media Player and it will not play.  I am able to take my PC and stream at my sister-in-law's house, just not on my Fios at home.   I am getting a new router in the mail soon to try to get a new IP address to correct the problem.  Please help if you know of another solution.

Worked for me no problem.
Download winamp. Then go to that website and click on the radio and the radio will open in winamp.

    Just to be sure: which Firefox version are you using?
    You may have a corrupted user agent that identifies you as Firefox/3.6.17

  • Streaming Audio (Radio) fails to work after upgrade to 8.1.0.52

    I just upgraded to the above-stated version of iTunes. Radio doesn't work, and nothing streams at all! iTunes attempts to get the playlist but to no avail. I have attempted this with a large number of streams with the same response.

    I'm having the same problem. I can't get anything to work that involves sound. No streaming radio, no Pandora, nothing. Just a warning that iTunes detected a problem with my audio configuration and that audio and video won't work because of it. I changed nothing but the version of iTunes I run.

  • I can no longer stream any radio station, no audio

    I have been streaming various radio stations for years, Sometimes the audio drops at one station, so then I click on another to resume the same talk radio host. About a week ago, I went back & forth trying to keep the show going, butsuddenly i realized non of the stations were working? I do get audio from advertising before streaming opens?

  • Unable to Stream Audio

    I'm unable to stream audio from a popular radio station. My old Win XP and Vista systems had no trouble. The radio station's site indicates that Windows Media Player is necessary. I'm hesitant to install anything having to do with Microsoft and/or Windows. What do I need to know? What are the pros/cons of installing Windows Media Player? Is there an Apple-approved version of WMP? Are there any other options available to me?

    Hi iTunesKruzr
    Some radio stations will play in Safari and other OS X browsers and some will not without a wmp?
    Download and install Flip4Mac first to see if that doesn't let you listen to you favorite station?

  • Facebook and streaming audio issues

    I like using Facebook and stream audio from my favorite radio stations!  However, I am running into adobe flash upgrade issues!!!!  I can bring up Facebook but I can't run certain programs within it.  I can bring up my favorite radio stations but won't let me stream audio!!!!  Any solutions?

    What exactly are your issues?
    I had an issue where every image found on the blog template was showing up instead of the actual image that represented the blog post. My fix was to make sure of the following:
    1. Blog image needs to be small in file size. Many bloggers post images that came straight off their camera and I found that the share tools will grab the most accessbile and light-weight files first. If the image is too big then it won't grab it at all. The share tool grabs the smallest and fastest loading, top-most in the code image first, which means the images found on the template of the blog.
    This issue occurs at WordPress too, so it is not restricted to BC but rather the tools provided to share.
    2. Try to avoid putting the image inbetween <p></p>'s, when I pulled mine out of the the paragraph format, they were found quicker.
    3. Avoid having the image lead off the blog post list before the bodypreview, if you can at all just show the image on within post detail page if you can. I know that having an image in the list helps, but then just put the whole blog in the list, like WP does. Problem here is that most share tools on the list have a problem diciphering what to share, so it shares the whole page, giving everthing a share count. WP does this better. They isolate the independent listings and provide isolated share tools for each list.
    Wait a week and the technology will change again.
    Good news is that the element that Facebook offers to share a page on the web will be featuring the option to upload an image to accompanying the sharing of the post. You can see this happening at Facebook already when you drop in the link of the post into a news feed.
    I hope this helps.

  • Streaming audio data won't stop unless I turn off the phone for 5 minutes.

    I have been testing the Curve 8330 regarding streaming audio from an icecast server. The address of the station is http://www.AirProgressive.org, click on "listen". (I have already run this by the icecast experts and they say it is a Blackberry "bug")
    BLACKBERRY USERS! PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THE STREAM (dataflow) DOES NOT STOP WHEN YOU CLICK "STOP" ON THE MEDIA PLAYER! (and will continue for as long as you leave it on, and even if you turn off your BB for less than 5 Minutes.) I'm not sure if you are charged for these streams, but it seems that the battery is depleted rapidly if this continues without aborting it. See details of my testing below:
    > Access icecast stream by clicking on the link on the website:
         http://www.airprogressive.org:8000/stream.m3u
    > Stream consists of mp3 at 32kbps / 22050 Hz.
    > Stock media player launches, stops at "Do you want to open or save the item."
        > No connections started yet (viewing "List Clients" page of icecast admin interface).
    > Click "open", stream begins playing.

    So, to stop the streaming server from communicating with the Blackberry handset, you must either turn it off or disable mobile network for at least 5 minutes.
    It appears that the handset continues to transfer data (and therefore incur charges, if the user does not have an unlimited data plan) if the handset is not turned off or mobile network disabled for at least five minutes. It also runs down the battery much faster because the radio transmitter is actively being used, even if the user is not listening to the stream.
    The Blackberry network has intervening servers that continue to receive data from the streaming server even if the handset is off. This behavior likely has utility to deal with the realities of the cellphone network, to allow the stream to be transferred from one cell to another, and deal with the possibility that the handset may be out of range for up to 5 minutes without "interruption." However, it is hard to turn off the stream.
    QUESTIONS:
    1. Is there a way to stop this sort of behavior using a configuration setting or something? It seems particularly stupid to start a new stream connection each time a STOP/START cycle is completed, allowing the old connections to continue streaming data (even if the data does not make it to the handset).
    2. IS IT TRUE that the user will be "charged" for the data streams that are not disconnected?
    3. Is there a way for a developer to send a signal to the intervening cellphone network to discontinue the orphan streams?
    THANKS!!

    No, I'm using something like this :
    to start...
                       channel = new SoundChannel();
                                            soundPlay = new Sound();
                                            urlReq=new URLRequest;
                                            urlReq.url=mylUrl;  // url of radio mp3
                                            soundPlay.load(urlReq);
                       channel = soundPlay.play();
    to stop it...
                          channel.stop();
                          channel=null;
                          try{soundPlay.close();} catch (e:Error) {} // error or not, the sream won't stop.
    Any idea ? Did you try with a NetStream object ?

  • Streaming audio receiver

    Hi folks.
    I need to write a java application that receives streaming audio over the network. The audio source may vary, but will likely be an internet radio station.
    I assume there are many different protocols used to broadcast audio over the internet - is there one or two that are most common?
    What package would I use to receive the audio? JMF is dead, correct? What other options are there?
    Thanks!

  • Streaming audio on Palm Pixi

    Is it possible to listen to streaming audio from a website on the Palm Pixi? I tried to listen to live audio from a radio station website and it wouldn't play. Do I need to download a player?

    Hello and welcome to the forums;
    WebOS devices support streaming music from websites, as long as the station streams in a supported audio format: MP3, AAC, or AAC+.
    When you try to stream the site, what happens? Do you get an error?

  • Streaming audio to video UI component, any ways possible?

    I'm looking into streaming audio from online radio sources our locally to the video component in interface builder, but I'm sure where to start. Any suggestions?

    for a more generic approach -- since mpd requires you to put the media on the server and only plays certain defined filed types -- pulseaudio might be interesting, or even dlna/upnp? that last one for sure would be the most cross-platform solution. then each client could decide for itself which kind of audio to pass to the hub, be it mpd, radio, youtube etc.
    interesing experiment you're doing here btw, i think more people will be interested in using a single small device that routes all their network audio to a stereo.
    p.s., in case you want to stick to the classic mpd setup, there are windows clients available incluing a handy firefox plugin:

  • WiFi syncing / Streaming Audio

    I will be getting a Touch soon, and want to get some things figured out beforehand.
    WiFi Syncing. I have a non-Apple (2Wire) 802.11g server for my laptops, also wired (ethernet) to my desktop (older iMac, 10.5.X). Desktop has no Airport card.
    If I want to sync to iTunes on my iMac, I assume I need to use the cable, and can't do it wirelessly through the router. I assume that installing an Airport card into the iMac would allow WiFi syncing.
    Second - Streaming Audio. I listen to several radio stations that offer streaming audio - Windows Media, MP3 (.pls, .m3u). It's not clear if the Touch supports this, or if there is some clever work-around. I'd love to use the Touch as a wireless streaming-audio device. Suggestions?
    Thanks!

    WiFi syncing is not a feature of the iPod touch at all, you cannot do it.
    You can ONLY sync with iTunes via a cable.
    If the streaming radio station uses Quicktime then you can listen to it on the iPod touch, if not then you can't.

  • Stream audio from a source

    Hi,
    I was wondering if it were possible to stream audio from an internet radio station. Can anyone point me in the right direction?
    Many thanks in advance!

    I found this: http://techtips.salon.com/use-iphone-webcam-3623.html
    I would suggest the use of an analog capture card, like a Dazzle, and the official Apple Composite video cable. I'm not sure if it would work, but the systematics would be (Output) (phone)—(Input)-Output (capture card)—Input (your PC)
    I can't verify this, maybe if I get the Apple AV cable I can, since I have everything else.

  • Streaming audio cutoff

    When using a new 8Gb ipod touch running the latest version of the operating system [3.1.2(7D11)] , the following problem arises:
    When the ipod touch is receiving streaming audio via WiFi, the reception stops after approximately 30 minutes. That problem persists for various apps. For example streaming BBC via Fstream, NPR via Public Radio, or internet stations via AOL Radio. Additionally, mp3 files, transmitted from a PC running Airfoil
    to the ipod touch running Airfoil Speakers results in similar behavior. In all of these cases we have verified that the streaming audio is stopped at the ipod touch not at the source.

    wifi cuts off after 30 minutes of being in sleep mode as a battery saving feature. i'm afraid the only way round it is to make sure you switch out of sleep mode and press a button or two (double clicking the home button to bring up the sound controls, then hitting pause and play seems to work too)

  • 10.4.4 and streaming audio

    It seems that since I upgraded to Tiger 10.4.4, I haven't been able to stream audio through Safari (2.0.3) anymore. This problem spans both the Real audio player, and windows media player. The only time I can get an audio feed is through the iTunes radio.
    Sites where I could listen to a stream last week (for example, xfm.com's radio stream), don't work now. Any of them, and that includes Myspace.com.
    I can't think what the problem is, so I'm having trouble solving it.
    I've tried the usual trashing of preferences, but that did nothing.
    Any help/ideas will be greatly appreciated.
    Thanks
