Streaming Audio using Air Tunes during a presentation

Hi Apple,
I would like to know is there an Air Tunes feature in Keynote? Or is Keynote Air tunes compliant? For example, if added audio to my Keynote presentations and I was presenting in an auditorium, the only thing the AV people would have to do is connect the audio out port from an Airport express to their audio setup. The presenter would be able to select Air Tunes streaming and stream the audio from Keynote to the attendees. No wires, no fuss, no mess...

This will work with a computer running Air Tunes and an Airport Express, but will not work with iPad. iPad does not have the same features in the iPod app that you see in iTunes for selecting Airport Express speakers.

  • Streaming audio using AudioToolbox

    I have successfully managed to stream audio over HTTP to the iPhone/iPod touch using AudioToolbox (AudioFileStream and AudioQueue).
    This worked great, but came with a problem.. When streaming larger mp3/mp4 files (10MB+) you can get a lot of data cached in RAM before it is played back. This causes the iPhone OS to kill the application because it's using up too much memory.
    I then tried to cache data on disk instead, and read the data with a normal AudioFile. This, instead, came with problems like how much data to pre-cache and how to know if the audio had stopped playing or if you just ran out of data for example.
    Anyone have any other ideas?

    Hi
    I was trying to stream audio using the AudioToolbox framework. I get stuck when trying to stop a song in the middle and play another song. Can you please help me out with it!

  • Streaming Audio using JMF

    I am trying to create a application that uses streaming audio and would be an internet radio with a server that will stream songs and a client that can listen to the stream. How can I stream audio, specifically mp3 files, using the JMF?

    I am in a similar project.
    I found JMF does not provide enough support for stream.
    I can't split a stream into some packets and transfer them to another peer.

  • Recording Streaming Audio Using Total Recorder in Vi

    Last year I purchased High Criteria's Total Recorder to successfully record sounds over the internet, etc. Earlier this year I bought a new PC with Vista and onboard sound, and I?installed Total Recorder on the new PC. ?It no longer worked. I checked their website, but they weren't much help. They said to look for a "wave out" option in recording, but there was none. Thinking that it was the onboard audio causing the problem, I bought and installed an Audigy SE sound card yesterday. While it gives me a few more recording options, I still can't use Total Recorder. Cqan anyone please give me some suggestions as to how to make this work? Or is there another program out there to record streaming audio in Vista? Thanks.

    Hi
    Can you record using mp3 or wma -format (on 28kbps) with these tools you have? These formats packs wav data to ~/0 deal from original without huge quality loss.
    If not you can try if there is some other recording tools. There are also freeware products on many SW sites like

  • Streaming audio using safari

    itouch 1st gen. I can connect fine to my wifi, however whenever i try to connect to a radio station to listen"live" or connect to my sirius account. It shows that's playing, but there is no sound. Does this thing not stream audio??
    I have upgraded to the 2.2 firmware.

    iPod Touch is capable of streaming via WiFi with Webapps that provide radio streaming
    Some examples of Apps that support this feature below.
    AOL Radio
    iHeartRadio
    Pandora Radio
    You may want to check the Sirus website and see what type of requirements are needed to listen to it on mobile devices. It may need to install a plugin of some sort to give you full audio.
    You may wish to also submit feedback to Sirus and let them know your interested in iPod Touch App to listen to the radio shows.

  • Playing streaming audio using Airport

    I have a iMac4 (10.4.11) with an AirPort Extreme (0x14E4, 0x89). I also have an Airport "box", plugged in to the wall, and connected to the back of my stereo. iTunes plays without a hitch through the stereo, but baseball season is coming and I am trying to figure out how to stream audio (not coming through iTunes) via Airport to my stereo. Hope that's not too convoluted!
    Can this be done? Must I resort to fuzzy AM signals?

    This can be done with a low cost utility called Airfoil - see:

  • Streaming audio using netconnection and netstream

    I'm trying to set up an audio stream using netconnection and netstream to a HEAAACV2 stream.  I followed the built in instructions, and I believe I am close, and possibly missing a key element, which I'm hoping one of you could point out.  Here is what it looks like:
                private function playAudioStream():void
                    nc = new NetConnection();
                    nc.connect("http://3153.live.streamtheworld.com:443/247COMEDYAAC_SC");
                    nc.addEventListener(NetStatusEvent.NET_STATUS, netStatusHandler);
    private function netStatusHandler(event:NetStatusEvent):void {
                    try {
                        switch (event.info.code) {
                            case "NetConnection.Connect.Success" :
                                // If the current code is Start, start the timer object.
                                ns = new NetStream(nc);
                                ns.play();
                                break;

    hi Chris,
    thanks for your two posts above. It's true, I certainly could have easily waited a week or two or more! I forget that updates need to be broken in order to become reliable.
    My password is 8 digits but your suggestion of 12 is a good idea. I have had "passwords" on the project list for some time now. I still have a few that go back to the 90s when everyone used their initials as their unique password for everything. As a user I feel the biggest problem is consistency. Minimum and maximum lengths, character type, case sensitivity; these are all variables dependent on a website's developer or owner's whims. Perhaps that's as it should be but it's difficult to keep track of all those passwords. I really should get a handle on all of mine and sort them out.
    In any event, I trust Apple will fix this WiFi problem and let us get back to the best security options available to us.
    To other readers, I'm happy to say that the switch to TKIP seems to have solved my problem. I listened to the Minnesota Public Radio stream (using their own app) for a couple of hours last night without any buffering issues, and have been listeneing to TuneIn Pro for awhile now this morning. All good...
    Ciao
    Tim

  • Air Tunes and Multi-Pass

    I just started getting the Daily Show and I have AirTunes. When I play it, I wanted it to come over the spearks in the house so that everyone could hear. When I have iTunes switched from "computer" to the wireless AirTunes router, nothing happens. I can still play music either way, but not this video.
    Any ideas why?

    when you are using Air Tunes via Airport Express will
    iTunes be pumping audio out the "Line Out"? i.e. will
    the speaker attached to my computer be playing what's
    playing in iTunes?
    No
    can I be listening to the stereo in the living room
    (with Air Tunes) and have someone else be watching a
    DVD on the computer?
    Yes

  • Air tunes via AX:  can't find

    I can't figure out how to use Air Tunes. Plugging in the speakers doesn't do anything. There isn't an icon on the itunes window. On the Airport Utility menu under Settings, music is grayed out (as are all the others.) The AX works fine for internet, though I've had some set up problems.

    Let's double-check your AirPort Express Base Station's (AX) settings for streaming iTunes:
    Either connect to the AX's wireless network or connect directly, using an Ethernet cable, to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then using the AirPort Utility in "Manual Setup" mode, make the following changes:
    *Music tab*
    o Enable AirTunes (checked)
    o iTunes Speaker Name: <enter desired speaker name>
    o iTunes Speaker Password: (optional)
    o Verify Password: (optional)
    o Click Update to write the new settings to the AX
    *In iTunes:*
    iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
    o Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked)

  • Determining audio files and corresponding slide # in Presenter

    It is a big challenge to edit audio files.  Presenter does not sequentially number audio files, they appear to be random.  Which means you have to hunt and peck to find the correct audio file to edit for the appropriate slide.  Any fix for this?

    See, now we're getting somewhere!
    When I wrote that line about having corresponding audio files after publishing (ex: a24x[some number].mp3), I was referencing the .mp3 files you get as a result of publishing the PPT deck using the Presenter plug in.
    However, as you wrote:
    "...Each of these mp3 files also has a corresponding *.lthmb file (for example 1088225537.mp3 has 1088225537.lthmb)..."
    what you're looking at is the folder that Presenter creates the moment you start incorporating audio using the recording feature that Presenter offers (the same would be true if you imported audio files using Presenter as well.)  And, as you have found out, trying to get a handle on which audio file goes w/ a particular slide is horrendous at best.
    Okay, may I suggest another tactic?
    Let's try this: Publish the PPT deck you have.  What you'll end up with is a set of files and folders, but I want you to look for the data folder that's created as a result of the publishing process. (Unless you specify where you're publishing to, Presenter will publish to a directory called "My Adobe Presentations" by default, so you may have to look there on your harddrive)  Inside the data folder will be a list of mp3 files, which, if everything goes smoothly, should make it much, much easier to see which audio is used by a specific slide.
    Here's what I mean: for example, after publishing, I have a data folder and inside I found the following file: a24x9x3.mp3  As I double click the mp3 file (which causes it to play using Windows Media on my laptop), I can hear that it corresponds to my slide 9 in my PPT deck.  And there's corresponding mp3 files for each and every slide I have in my deck.  I'm clicking another file (wouldn't it be nice to see what I'm doing???) a24x20x3.mp3, and that file corresponds to my slide 20 content in PowerPoint.
    So again, give publishing in PowerPoint a shot and see if that makes it any easier.  Well...not nearly as easy as recording in Audition/Soundbooth/Audacity, but it's close enough to hopefully dig you out of that hole you're in now.

  • Air tunes and extending my network

    In reading the manual it sounds like this should work but I can not get it to
    When I set up my AirPortExpress to "join my network" (AirPortExtreme from a TimeCapsule) air tunes works perfectly
    But if I change to "extend my network" the APE restarts, green light comes on, AirPort Utility shows it and iTunes shows it in the lower right hand corner BUT when I try to switch to my APE it says connecting for a long time and APE disappears from APUtility - I think my network is extended (although I'm not positive on how to verify that) but my music will not play
    So :
    1 - can you both extend a network and use air tunes at the same time?
    2 - Any idea what I'm missing - I seem to be doing things ok and they look like they are working but are not for music

  • Streaming Audio via Datasocket

    Hei,
    This is not a problem I'm having but rather a research. I'm currently researching a possibility of streaming audio using a DataSocket solution.
    Has anyone already tried it, are there any pitfalls i should be aware of?   Or is there a better solution?

    Thanks man,
    I got it to work again!
    Basically, Like you said deleted both devices from each others pairing...
    and restarted the Iphone, then re paired the 2 devices and got it to work again.
    Not exactly sure what happened in this updated that triggered this, but if anyone is having this issue.
    try those steps to fix it.

  • Air Tunes from non-wireless PC

    OK, so I have a base PC that gets it's internet connectivity directly, but is connected to a Netgear wireless router to provide the wireless network in the house.
    Can I use Air Tunes on this PC, or can I only use it via wireless connectivity to the network?
    I can't seem to get the AirPort to properly see the network, (I'm programming it wirelessly from the laptop), but that is a discussion for another thread.

    Answer to the first question, yes you can use this airport express on your existing wireless network provided by the netgear router
    *once the airport has successfully connected to the network wireless you can use airtunes from any computer on the network wired or wirelessly
    *one major thing ive had a problem with is depending on which form of security you may be using on your network such as WEP or WPA security you may have to change it to better accomidate your express
    *if your using WEP security, you'll want to use what is called the Hex equivalent password which is a 26 character password thats created from your password
    Ex: say my password to connect wirelessly to my netgear router is cheesewhiz, the router then recreates the password as 26 characters such as 0032af3eb2 etc.. if unsure how to obtain the password you can either consult the manufacturer of the router or even check the forums if unfamilar with the router configuration of the netgear

  • HT4437 how  can i stream audio to ipad from video playing on the apple tv using air play?

    how  can i stream audio to ipad from video playing on the apple tv using air play?

    I don't know what AppleTV can handle as far as bit rate is concerned, but increase the bit rate as high as it will let you. You are taking DV which is 25Mb/s and compressing it. If you're making an H.264, you should get great results needing no more than 6Mb/s. Bear in mind, the higher the bit rate, the larger the file size.

  • Movies audio using airport express via i-tunes

    Hi guys
    Have no trouble at all listening to music through air tunes using separate speakers, however when i go to watch a movie or watch a podcast using i-tunes no sound can be heard from the external speakers connected via my airport express? Is this me or is it just the way it is?
    Cheers
    Nick

    ok, after some reseaerch it seams that there is a lag between video and audio unless you use the supplied airfoil video player. You can drag video files in to airfoil video but not movies purchased from i-tunes.....happy to be proven wrong on that one mind!
    Anyway, a nice little app IMO!
