Streaming from CD player

I stream my Itunes via Apple TV and airport express which works well but i also have a twin CD DJ system which is great for party's, is it possible to stream from the CD system to the airport/ATV?

if there's an application for that DJ system running on your machine, you may be able to use Airfoil.

  • Can you stream from BBCi Player using Apple TV?

    Hi All,
    Looking into getting the apple TV for my dad but want to know if it will actually come in handy so please tell me ...
    Can you stream from BBCi Player/ITV Player from laptop to TV via the Apple TV?
    Many Thanks

    I thought that members of this forum may like to see the latest, 10th August 1013,  respons from the BBC -
    Thank you for contacting the BBC iPlayer support team.
    I understand that a previous response from us didn’t resolve an issue you have with the BBC iPlayer, via your Apple TV device.
    Streaming programmes should be able to play using airplay but downloaded programmes are not currently supported on the Apple TV.
    However, we aim to resolve this in a future update to the BBC iPlayer.
    We do appreciate the time taken to report this issue as all feedback received helps us to develop and improve the service.
    Your comments have been used to inform a daily report which is sent to the BBC iPlayer team, including the head of BBC iPlayer.
    Seems we are keeping our fingers crossed that Apple and the BBC will have the same common aim in getting AppleTV to incorporate the iPlayer.

  • Streaming audio to airplay from BD player

    Hello Audiophiles!
    I like to stream audio of non-iOS devices (BD player and such) to AirPlay or directly to airplay speakers.  Is there a way to do this via an airport express unit or a similar 3rd party device?
    Thanks for any help.

    Thank you. This is very helpful info!
    The BD player is also DVB-C set-top box for the TV, which itself does not have a DVB-C decoder.  We like to have the normal TV sound streaming to wireless speakers, preferably airplay speakers, without running a computer (iMac or MBP). We also have the Apple TV G2, which basically has only two audio outputs: AirPlay and the optical connector. My pretty old but excellent stereo does not have optical input...
    So now I am looking into a system that can do everything: AirPlay without running any OSX device (except for an Airport WiFi router) and also taking streams from other audio sources. This is based on the WAF - (wife acceptance factor).
    After googleing all afternoon, I kind of found a system that could do the job:  Active speaker systems, which accept dual- or multi-source input, i.e. AirPlay, analog, and digital audio input. Then I could get a bluetooth transmitter for audio, such as the TRX1 from b-speech, for non-iOS devices.
    This would become relatively complex and would turn my home into a large-scale microwave oven...
    Still in the process of figuring it all out.
    Maybe all I need is a new TV with airplay support.... This is how this industry wants you - or at least me - to think ... and act ;-)

  • Apple TV Gen 2.. Terribly Slow Streaming From Wired Home Network via itunes Windows 7. Please Help

    Hello all, I just signed up for this as i hope to get more results from here than i did waiting 4 hours for a call from apple today.
    I recently purchased an Apple TV Gen 2.. installed it on my Samsung 40" HDTV via HDMI cable and also ran a network cable to my basement where my router, (Linksys 5 port router plus Wireless) is mounted on the wall beside the cable modem.
    just to rule things out i will give some spec's and details before i get further into this.
    My goal is to use my Desktop Homebuilt PC running windows 7 ultimate 64bit to store my Digital Movie Library and stream through itunes all of my digital media to my Apple TV located in another room. Both Apple TV and my desktop windows 7 PC are hard wired NOT WIRELESS.
    My internet connection is cable and tested it this evening several times at  58.9 Megabits per second down and 8 Megabits per second down... (yes that is correct 58mb/s down. this equates to about 7.1 megabytes per second download speeds for reference.
    Now just to rule out my 2 year old wireless router i went and purchased a brand new router today... Same results.
    Now on to the problem details and my findings.
    Using my Desktop PC wired to try and stream Itunes movies from the streaming is absurdly slow.. very slow... i have yet to wait to see what happens after 30 minutes of waiting for a Movie to start.. music also takes a long time to load...
    Music... i can go to icloud funtion which i paid for today.. and click on the same song in icloud and the song starts almost instantly, so does music videos...
    Also previously purchased TV shows starts playing from the cloud almost instantly as well even HD TV shows...
    Trying to stream anything through my desktop windows 7 pc just doesnt work right...
    I have narrowed this problem down to my desktop.. but can not figure out what the problem is...
    using my macbook air 120GB SSD wireless over the same network, which i also have a mirrored copy of my itunes library for testing purposes... there is zero issues with streaming anything from my macbook air over the same network via wifi...
    Also using my ipad 2 mirroring works flawlessly, even HD movies plays without a hitch... same goes for my iphone 4s
    the only issues i am having are with my desktop and streaming from my itunes libary on it... i do not want to use my macbook air.. as that defeats the purpose of having apple TV.. in the future i plan on ripping my entire DVD / Blueray collection to a 3 TB hard drive and stream to my AppleTV...  from my desktop computer storing my entire DVD / Blue Ray library digitally on the 3TB hard drive....
    But i can not get this to work...  i can see my itunes libary on my desktop.. i can play music and watch movies.. other than anything HD will not play... but everything takes a rediculously long time to load... i can download an entire movie with my 58mb's connection in the time it takes to load something streaming from my itunes libary on my desktop PC...
    if anyone has any suggestions.. there may be something i have overlooked or i am missing. any input and or advice will be greatly appriciated.
    Thanks,

    Ok.. in order to help other users i will post this..
    I have resolved the issue... it was rather simple and dumb...
    I never use windows media player ever.. i do not like it and can not stand it.. because in my case it was a brand new windows installation this fix will only apply to certain users..
    because it was a brand new windows installation.. i had never clicked on windows media player.. apparently streaming settings are embedded into windows media player for the windows 7 OS...    in past installations that i have used for years.. i simply never ever clicked on windows media player, as i never had a reason to.. i use itunes for my ipad, iphone etc.. etc...
    by accident and shear luck i decided to click on windows media player.. and of course go through the express settings....  after i did this all of my streaming problems to my apple tv gen2 disapeared... HD movies now start almost instantly... so as i stated above apparently there are media streaming settings embedded into the OS through windows media player... doesnt make any sense to me as i never use the program.. but whatever that fixed my issue..
    so for any of you windows 7 people out there using a windows 7 pc as your itunes sync computer and using that itunes library to stream to your apple tv... make sure you have done the initial setup at min.. of windows media player.. i still left itunes as my default player....  everything now works flawlessly... infact for whatever reason.. even in an HD movie my network almost has half the movie synced now accross the bar before the movie starts so now my apple tv is blazing fast....
    i have been struggling with this for 2 days now and simply never gave it a thought that windows media player would ever have anything to do with itunes streaming a totally seperate program.. but it did..
    i hope this helps other people with similar problems.
    good luck

  • HTTP Streaming for Flash Player 10.1

    Hi there,
    I have been developing a streaming video player application in Flash Builder 4, and have been really excited about the HTTP Streaming functionality now available in Flash Player 10.1.
    Unfortunately, there seems to be an extreme dearth of materials on how to actually implement HTTP Streaming both server side and client side. Does anyone have a straightforward tutorial/example of how to implement HTTP Streaming from start to finish, or do any of the Adobe Developers plan on releasing documentation for this?
    I've looked through the BETA Actionscript 3.0 API Documentation and noticed the new NetStream.appendBytes() and NetStream.appendBytesAction(), which I suspect are involved in HTTP streaming. I also saw a sketchy introduction from Ryan Shin on the Open Source Media Framework (OSMF) website (https://admin.na3.acrobat.com/_a204547676/p96986524?launcher=false&fcsContent=true&pbMode= normal), but it seems to be lacking in details regarding how to actual implement a "file packager" on the server or how to open an HTTP Stream on the client side.
    Any help would be much appreciated.
    Thanks!
    Ho Tuan

    It is unlikely that you will get an answer here in the Flash Player (release version) forum.  Better try in the appropriate Flash, Actionscript, or FP 10.1 beta forum http://forums.adobe.com/community/labs/flashplayer10/flashplayer10.

  • Problem while sending RTP stream to QuickTime player

    Hello,
    I am trying to send a RTP video stream from a local file to a Quicktime player.
    The player is waiting for the stream in its default ports (6970/6971). I archieve this by using my own RTSP server.
    I start the transmission by using a processor and a datasink. It seems that I send one or two RTCP packages to port 6971, but not RTP packages are sent.
    This is my code:
    pr = Manager.createProcessor( new MediaLocator("file:/rootDirectory/file.mpg"));
    pr.configure();
    while(pr.getState()==Processor.Configuring){}
    TrackControl[] tracks = pr.getTrackControls();
    tracks[0].setFormat(new VideoFormat(VideoFormat.JPEG_RTP));
    tracks[0].setEnabled(true);
    pr.realize();
    while(pr.getState()==Processor.Realizing){}
    DataSource ds = null;
    ds = pr.getDataOutput();
    String url1 = "rtp://193.147.59.231:6970/video/10"
    MediaLocator m1 = new MediaLocator(url1);
    DataSink d1 = Manager.createDataSink(ds, m1);
    d1.open();
    d1.start();JMF doesn't show any error, but my application just is not sending RTP packages. What could be wrong in my code?
    Kind regards.

    Any clue please? I am frustrated!!

  • Possible to stream from FMLE to another (desktop)computer?

    This is some kind of a challenge: I'm trying to find a
    sollution for streaming a video signal from one computer
    (preferably with FMLE) and pick up the video stream on another
    computer and show the video fullscreen.
    So far it seem to me that FMLE is only able to deliver the
    video stream to a Flash Media Server. Is this correct?
    I'm hoping it is possible to stream the video from FMLE and
    "pick up" that single stream from another computer with maybe a
    program like VLC (or another application? - I just read that VLC
    supports RTMP streams), and show the video fullscreen.
    In theory, maybe I can use Flash Media Server for this, if it
    is able to show the video it's picking up fullscreen.
    Any suggestions or thoughts would be apreciated!
    regards

    Windows Media Encoder and Player as a combination can do this "direct pull" from an encoder to a player without a server in the middle.  But in all the years of commercial live streaming I have done in 10 years, Flash Media Encoder can not be operated in the same way.  A Flash Server has to be in the middle.

  • Stream from File - Workflow Inquiry

    Greetings all,
    In short I am trying to stream from file. By this I mean a solution where the user views the streaming video as something like "http://stream.somesite.com" and not "http://stream.somesite.com/vod/vmp4:video1(and then video2, and then video3)"
    The goal is to seamlessly update the playlist of files (remove/re-order/append) that is being streamed in the background so to the end-user it's just one continuous live stream. You could equate it to watching TV, actually.
    The reason I am asking is that software like Flash media Encoder can only play from live sources like capture cards, screen capture software, or webcameras, and then software like Flash Media Streaming Server 4.0 can only play from specific files directly. While you can stream from an XML playlist, I want all the viewers to be watching from the same point and not be able to prematurely change the video.
    This setup is best seen in popular site like Justin.tv and livestream. The key differences I am looking for is to stream from pre-encoded files (MP4(H264/AAC)) in an effort to keep the quality as high as possible.
    Can someone help me out?
    My Current Setup:
    A Box running Windows server 2008 R2 with IIS7.0 installed and configured for H264 HTTP-Pseudo streaming. See:http://h264.code-shop.com/tracListening on Port 8080
    Same box running Flash Media Streaming Server 4.0 with "httpproxy" set to the IIS7.0 server.Listening on Port 80 and 1392(?)(the rtmp one...)

    I like the looks of the play2 command and thus the adobe extended dynamic streaming class from here: http://www.adobe.com/products/flashmediaserver/tool_downloads/
    The main goals are to give the end user seamless viewing of the playlist, to obfusicate the files themselves for security, and to control the playlist on the backend when needed. My original idea did all this by controlling everything on the server side and only letting the user see the end continuous stream.
    I am looking into actionscript now, but am curious as to how it works. It's not something you can just place in the an hmtl file, like javascript or php, right?
    It seems you compile actionscript into .swfs using Flash CS4 Pro, and then call them using javascript and such? Confused. :/
    What methods are available for file security on the flash server? I have read an article from the JW player people here http://www.longtailvideo.com/support/jw-player/48/securing-content-protect-your-video#Serv er_Side and it seems you need to implement the security on the bundled Apache 2.2. server rather than the flash server itself. The current method I am focusing on is the temporary URL generation. Something like "http://server.com/as9d86a/video1.mp4" instead of "http://server.com/path/to/real/file/video1.mp4" where the temp URL will timeout when the file finishes playing. That way only 1 file is available for the user to stream from at any one time. Then when the current video ends a new url is generated for the next video and delivered to the flash player.
    In that reguard I currently have my eye on implementing mod_auth_token seen here: http://code.google.com/p/mod-auth-token/
    What are people opinion on this?
    Thanks for your help.

  • Stream from foreign server possible?

    Hi,
    I urgently need a feedback !
    I need to be 100% sure whether or not the following scenario is possible within Adobe Flash Player / Adome Media Server security contrains:
    website and swf file are hoted on server with given IP number xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
    media and streaming application are hosted on server with IP number yyy.yyy.yyy.yyy
    generally speaking:
    will yyy media server accept connection from xxx client ?
    will xxx client accept streams from yyy server ?
    I urgently need this information as I need to decide some specific media streaming solution for the customer.
    Of course - I mean both servers being hosted (virtual) services rented by the customer at third party provididers.
    Please feedback asap!
    Thank you!

    Yes this should not be an issue , a client from "xxx" can connect to FMS at "yyy" and stream the data. There should not be problem at both ends.

  • Saving video stream from webcam periodically!!!

    Hi there, I want to catch every 1 minute video stream from the webcam, or video file, and save it into separate files. Of course I woudl like to have possibility to save many streams simultaneously. Any idea?
    Best regards

    Hi,
    I want to do the same thing ... I was able to stream audio through the socket but could not stream video.
    I posted my question at http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=674676&tstart=15
    and presented a sketch of my implementation design. But until now no one has answered my question.
    This is how you should hook up the components on the transmitter side
    Webcam --> Processor --> Custom DataSink --> PushBufferStream --> PushBufferHandler --> Socket --> Network.
    You can implement the transferData() method of the PushBufferHandler to write to a socket.
    And on the Receiver side the components should be hooked up like this
    Network --> Socket --> PullBufferStream --> custom DataSource --> Player
    Now as I mentioned in
    http://forum.java.sun.com/thread.jspa?threadID=674676&tstart=15
    the audio works fine but the video does not. The video does not render on the receiver side.
    Note: I tried TCP sockets with audio and it is terrible (not practical at all) so I reverted to UDP datagrams and the result was better than I expected. I didn't take care of the ordering of received packet at the receiver but it still worked fine.
    I am still looking waiting for some help in why video is not rendering and how can I sovle this problem.
    I am workning on a project and time is running out.
    Any help?

  • How could I play and transmit a stream from the same camera

    How could I play and transmit a stream from the same camera?

    Hi,
    As I said, you can use the method getVisualComponent() of the Processor to get a preview Window.
    You create a Processor, prepare it to generate an appropriate output DataSource for what you want to do (saving, TXing, etc).
    Then, for this Processor you extract an AWT Component where the stream will be previewed using the method getVisualComponent().
    Some of the player examples in the JMF guide use this technique. I'm still not write my own player. I'm using an adaptation of the RTPPlayer, but I'm planning to use the above technique to create a Player where I can apply some effects to the stream and then save it if the user wants to.
    If someone already did that, please, correct me if my procedure isn't right!
    By the way, thanks for your help! I was using the DataSource returned from Manager.createCloneableDataSource only to create the clones. I was feeding my main Processor with the original DataSource. That was the problem!

  • Live Streaming from Video File

    Hi everyone,,, im newbie in programming streaming video with flash....ater reading documentations i tried the instructions on doc, i got a question that i've not been solved. How to make a "live streaming" from "video file". It likes a live streaming from camera but it uses video file  as the source.... many thanks

    Do you mean you have video file but you want to publish it as live stream , am i right? If yes following is the solution, but before that let me clarify you will need server to do it , i mean there is no way Flash client (i.e. .swf file running in Flash Player) can publish file from local disk.
    Now let me tell you how to do it from server:
    Place your video file under "streams" folder of your application i.e. say "myVideo.flv" under  <FMS root>/applications/myApp/streams/_definst_
    Now write following code in your main.asc file (this file would be under <FMS root>/applications/myApp )
    var mystream;
    application.onAppStart = function(){
         mystream = Stream.get("livestream");
         mystream.play("myVideo",0,-1,true);
    This will publish "myVideo" file as live stream under name of "livestream". Client would have to subscriber using NetStream and
    use ns.play("livestream",-1,-1)
    You might have to write some extra code if you want to loop same file else once play of recorded file gets over , live publish will automatically stop.
    let me know if this solves your problem

  • Alternative for HLS HTML streaming trough JW player for users without Flash?

    Hello!
    I am using HLS TS Streaming trough JW player for the largest group of users that have flash for streaming video's.
    Is there an alternative for users without flash?
    Best regards

    I will just summarize myself...
    Adobe media server supports rtmp and HTTP(HLS and HDS)..
    for rtmp streaming the swf running in a Flash player is the standard interface...that flash player may be an activeX control/plugin in your browser or may be a standalone player downloaded from adobe website...Chrome web browser however users a slightly different( PPAPI based) flash player(which is different from Adobe flash player) and is developed and maintained by google.
    For HLS and HDS, you can either use special players(i.e swfs)(Flash based) developed Adobe by Adobe e.g Strobe meida player(Open Source Media Framework Blog | Adobe’s free and open source media playback system) or you can use players like jwplayer(Video Player Download | JW Player Online Video Player)... Incidentally jwplayer has added simultaneous support for playing rtmp streams too(which is reallly good), but i do not have much insight into workings of jwplayer...

  • How to stream with the player strobe media playback videos using http dynamic streaming?

    Hi..
    please could i have some help about the player strobe media playback?
    i would like to know how to stream with the player strobe media playback videos using http dynamic streaming.
    I have already installed the server,i put my own video in the video on demand folder.i downloaded the player but i don't know how to stream that video with the adobe protocol dynamic streaming.

    http://osmf.org/configurator/fmp/
    Use this configurator, and use the same code it generates with your strobemediaplayback.swf
    Also make sure the domain where strobemediaplayback.swf is being called from and resides, is in your /webroot/crossdomain.xml  file, or it will not work.
