Streaming from ipod/ipad to ATV2 interrupted when using other apps at the same time.
Hi. I have an Apple TV2, ipad1 and ipod touch4. I am having trouble with music streaming to the ATV2. I can select a song on the ipad/itouch and stream it to the ATV2 no problem using airplay. However, if I then try to surf the net on the ipad/itouch or use any other app at the same time as listening to the music, the music hiccups. It seems to me like the ipad/itouch need to use the wifi network at the same time and so they take over the signal momentarily. Any ideas what I can do about this? My wireless router is a dual band 2.4 and 5 mhz gigabit router that is brand new and should not have any problems.

Ferrell, I have done what you suggested. I clicked onto the Spaces icon in the upper control panel and assigned spaces to six apps: Mail, Safari, iPhoto, iMovie, Pages, and iWeb.
The problem is that if I am one app and I want to put something into that app, then the minute my mouse cursor goes to get that other thing, the original application into which I want the thing put GETS WHOOSHED OFF THE DESKTOP. What I want is for the original app to remain open whilst I go to retrieve a file or folder, and stay open while I put that thing into the original app.
How does one turn off Spaces? I don't mean to delete all the names from the settings.I mean, just turn it off for a while so I can do something which requires for two apps to be open at the same time????

Let's double-check your AX's settings...
To set up AirTunes on the AirPort Express Base Station (AX), using the AirPort Admin Utility, connect your computer directly (using an Ethernet cable) to the Ethernet port of the AX, and then, try these settings:
AirPort tab
- Base Station Name: <whatever you wish or use the default>
- Wireless Mode: Join an Existing Wireless Network (Wireless Client)
- Wireless Network: <select your Belkin wireless network>
Music tab
- Enable AirTunes on this base station (checked)
- Enable AirTunes over the Ethernet port (optional)
- iTunes Speaker Name: <whatever you wish>
- iTunes Speaker Password (optional)
In iTunes:
iTunes > Preferences... > Advanced > General
- Look for remote speakers connected with AirTunes (checked) -

FromPane ToPane when using 2 Forms at the same time
Hi,
I have built 2 forms in 1 Add-On, Form A with 4 tabs and Form B with 2 tabs.
I open both Form A and B
If I click on Form A tab 1, Form B display tab 1 (they work together...???)
If I click on Form A tab 2, Form B display tab 2 (Form A has control over Form B)
But if I click Form B tab 1 or 2, nothing change in Form A (Form B has no control over Form A)
When I click on Form A tab 3 and 4, Form B close the GridView.
I cannot bring back tab 1 and 2 in Form B; if I click on Form B tab 1 or 2 and go back to Form A; Form A has full control over Form B again.
In EventItem I am using: if ( pVal.FormUID == "FormA" ) and if ( pVal.FormUID == "FormB" ) to know which form has been clicked on.
...This work fine. The only think I see is that my FromPane ToPane change when I click on Form A, but FormB has no effect on FormA...???
I have named the folder movement as follow to have no name conflict: if ( pVal.ItemUID == "FolderA1" ) and if ( pVal.ItemUID == "FolderB1" )
Any suggestion?
For me it looks like FromPane ToPane problemhi,
In order the folder item to work appropriately, you must first group them
ofoderitem.groupwith.
You must group the first shown folder with the other folder.
The FromPane toPane works as following
0 shows everything
In your Exmple FormA and B should always be visible and you have 6different form, thus
From Pane 1 to Pane 6
when you press the folder you must the correct panelevel.

I have been waiting for two days for an app to install on my iPad. Seems like something is stuck as it just keeps displaying "installing". Thanks for the suggestion... but I think my first question would be why these parameters would need re-setting? This is a new machine... It has never been shut down hard. It is used at most 10 hours per week... mostly using Office 2004 for MAC. I need to figure this out as I will soon need it as a Cs2/CS3 - Aperture workhorse.
I too agree that it is best not to use a sledge when a scalpel is needed... but as a novice to the MAC world I may have been misled by Apple support. I seems to have fixed the symptoms ( some) but appears NOT to have addressed the cause... which is what I am after.
Would TechTool Pro detect a bad HD or RAM?

The ipad won't sync some photos, saying the file can't be read by the ipad, however it will sync some photos taken at the same time which are the same size and file type. Why does it reject some and accept others?
Hi there. I'm having the same problem: my iPad won't import some photos from a folder, saying that they can't be read. They are all JPEGS and some photos taken at the same time have synched fine, but out of a folder with 200 photos, it only lets me synch 37. I'm synching albums created via Photoshop Elements 6, which has worked fine until now.
I've tried deleting all photos and re-synching, and have also deleted the iPod Photo Cache, but it hasn't made a difference.
The iPad auto-updated to the latest version of iTunes, so maybe that's what's causing it?

What happens when you try to change them?
Try:
- Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.

What i am attempting to achieve is to work with at least two app at the same time. For example: select any picture from my albums to attach them in an email. Another example is get data from an app to use it with the calc app. And there are more exaples for it. And for sure I need support for an iPad air. I mencioned the other tablet just to try to be a bit clearer.

Anytime you open an app that has a persistant sound stream - a movie, a podcast, some games - it will overide the music app's stream. nothiong you can do to change it.

I have 2 different MacBooks (owned by 2 people) connected to the same Time Capsule over a wifi network. I want to use the Time Capsule to back up both MacBooks separately from each other. Can one person access the hard drive of the other person, on the same Time Capsule? Is there a way to ensure that the files on the 2 laptops are kept private from each other? Thanks!

Security on a Time Capsule is a bit like installing a lock on a tent. It will keep the honest folks out, but probably not the others. -

Granted yes I know it would chew up a ton of battery power, but will there be a time when the OS will allow you to say listen to something off of the iPod or a video app and say read a book or surf the web at the same time?
You can already listen to music and surf the web/read simultaneously.
Play something from the iPod app and it will continue playing when your using safari/iBooks etc.
Double clicking the home button while doing so brings up the controls for the music. -

You can try one thing. Follow these steps:
1. On your Mac, turn on AirPlay Mirroring and connect it to the Apple TV, so audio and video will stream from the Apple TV.
2. Turn off the sound of the TV where you have connected the Apple TV.
3. Then, make sure that you have turned on the AirPlay speakers. Then, open System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose the external speakers, so sound will stream from these external speakers.

The app Spaces keeps me from using two applications at the same time.
I set up Spaces but now experience a bad side-effect. When I need to have Two files/folders/whatever in use because I want to place something from X into Y, I cannot do it because Spaces only lets One application on the desktop at the time; it shoos all the other applications away, and in doing so, it takes away the thing that I wanted to place into the new application that swooshed onto my desktop when I pressed its corresponding square in the Spaces icon in the top control panel.
How can I arrange it so that I can keep Two or three applications available for me to do transfers from one to another?
