Streaming iOS Podcast audio to Apple TV

When streaming audio from the iOS Podcast app to Apple TV, I lose the ability to adjust the volume of the playback on my (6.0) iPhone 4. This only happens with the Podcast app. I can stream audio from Downcast, Safari, and the Music app to Apple TV and adjust the playback volume on my iPhone.
I also have an Airport Express. The iOS Podcast app, along with all the other apps mentioned above, work as it should with Airport Express.
iOS Podcast seems to have a problem with Apple TV.

I seem to recall reading, somewhere, that video streaming is limited currently to the Videos app; iirc, they're still working through rights and other issues with other potential users.
Don't have ATV and am currently feeding our tv using component AV cables, so don't pay a lot of attention to these issues.
Out of curiosity, though, why would you pick this forum instead of the AirPlay one to be looking around and posting in?

  • Stream Live Video + Audio to Apple TV - No Audio

Hello, I am trying to setup an adhoc video conferencing solution
Streaming Live Video + Audio from a lecture theatre to a breakout room in the same building
So far I have tried 3 approaches over Airplay:
1: iPad Air (8.1) (as a camera + microphone) using the built in video app to stream to a Mac Mini (Yosemite), using Reflector
2: iPad Air (8.1) (as a camera + microphone) using the built in video app to stream to an Apple TV
3: Webcam connected to a Mac Mini to stream to an Apple TV
All 3 options show the Video however I can't hear the audio
I know that the audio is working because if I record a clip and play it back you can hear the audio on the TV
Can anybody recommend some software, either for the iPad or the Mac which would allow me to transmit the Video + Audio Live?
My preference is not to use a web based system, so that all data is kept on the local network
Thank you in advance for your help
    Jeremy

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Try the following steps, check whether things are working after each step where appropriate, before trying the next.
Check AirPlay is turned on on the Apple TV (turn it off and on if it already is)
Check that both devices are on the same network (Settings > Wifi, on the mobile device and Settings > General > Network, on the Apple TV).
Restart the Apple TV (Settings > General > Restart).
Restart the Apple TV by removing ALL the cables for 30 seconds.
Restart your router. (Also try removing it’s power cord for at least 30 seconds)
    Restart your mobile device.

  • Stream video and audio to Apple TV conected to AV.

I have a Yamaha RX-V673 AV with Airplay and it is connected to my HDTV by HDMI (HDMI 1).  I purchased an Apple TV 3rd gen and connected it to my Yamaha (HDMI 2) and then attempted to stream a movie from my IPhone 5S to the apple tv.  The problem is that audio plays perfectly but no video.  Can someone assist me with this?

  • ITunes will not stream vidoe audio to Apple Hi-Fi speakers

Hi - Using iTunes, I am able to stream music and podcast audio to my Apple Hi-Fi speakers via Airport Express. However, VidoeCast, TV Shows and purchased movies will not stream... am I doing something wrong? Is there a workaround?
    hevans

Try turning IPv6 ON in your network preferences - this is helping SOME people with this problem. It won't help you at all if your network router doesn't do IPv6.
To turn on: go to Network Preferences, select the interface you use, under teh TCP/IP tab click 'Configure IPv6', and choose 'Automatic'. Save changes.

  • How can I stream audio from Apple TV 2 to Airport Express speakers.

how can I stream audio from Apple TV 2 to Airport Express speakers.
I have LCD projector on one wall and connected ATV to it via HDMI.
Speakers on the other wall and connected to APXpress.

To be honest the times we've wanted to have music from more than one set of speakers, I've usually used my mac's iTunes library and controlled it either from the mac or from my phone, since they're not really the times we have any TV on anyway. I've tested AirTunes from the Apple TV but can't recall whether it worked with content from a streaming library.
Now I've got something to do.

  • Can i stream audio from apple tv with bluetooth?

I want to use my home theatre to play itunes using apple tv.  I'm out of inputs on the HTS except for a bluetooth digital media input.  Will apple tv stream blue tooth audio?

No. Streaming is done via airplay. The only bluetooth input, as of the latest update, is wireless keyboard.

  • Stream Audio to Apple TV in Mountain Lion from Menu Bar

Unless I'm missing it, Mountain Lion definitely needs the option to stream audio to Apple TV from the Menu Bar, like you can stream video from the Menu Bar. Hopefully they add the option to the Volume tab. Too much of a hassle to have to open up Preferences>Sound>Output to Apple TV

Interesting, looks like you can, but it's a hidden function: http://www.cultofmac.com/182397/send-audio-only-to-apple-tv-via-airplay-in-mount ain-lion/
Hold down 'Option' while clicking the 'Volume' tab in the Menu Bar, and it brings up a secondary menu for with Sound Preferences, including the ability to choose Apple TV as the Output Device. Not sure why they chose to make this such a hidden feature, but oh well.

  • Online streaming of the Mac screen and audio onto Apple TV

I am aware of the possibility of streaming saved videos on the Apple TV but I was wondering whether it is possible to do it online: namely to have what happens on the mac to appear also on the tv. The objective is to view the Elgato tv on the tv screen connected to the Apple TV. So I would like to know if in any way iTunes may configured to do so or if there exists some third party software performing that.
    Thanks, Fabrizio

That I knew. I was asking whether someone is working at a fix either at Apple or at some private developer's.

  • Netflix audio on Apple TV

Hello, I am on Brazil and I have an Apple TV and an account sign up on Netflix Brazil.
The problem is, some movies or tv shows plays audio portuguese and another just dont play portuguese audio, and play english or spanish audio. I can enable the portuguese subtitles pressing the central round botton.
I already have on Settings enable the default audio for Portuguese. But some movies on the netflix still playing english or spanish audio. And some of this movies I know that have portuguese audio, because when I play the movie from netflix on my Mac I can choose the audio that I want.
So, my question is: is there anyway to choose the audio on apple tv (2G) while the movie is starting? Like I have the option to enable or disable the subtitles on the movie?
Just to add, yes, my Apple TV2 have the lastest OS.
If anyone can help me or tell me how to choose/change the audio of the movie while is starting please let me know how to do it.
I have an XBox360 and I can see netflix there, and gives me the option to choose audio and subtitles on the beginning of the movie.
    Regards!

On ATV2 there are no audio options for Netflix films in Brazil. It dosent matter whether you have the ATV settings to English or not. You can only change the subtitles by pressing the centre button of the remote whilst streaming a film. This is a bug Apple have to fix, since you can change Netflix audio language on PS3, Ipad, MAC and PC. If you stream Netflix through your PC connected to your TV you have the audio/subs option at the bottom of the screen. Bu this defeats the purpose of having an ATV2. You, I and many others will have to wait..........and wait...... until the IOS 4.4.5 is delivered

  • How do I turn off automatic streaming of MP3 audio?

I like to download podcasts directly to my desktop so I can later transfer them to my Sansa media player. Now that I've installed Quicktime podcasts stream and play automatically in my Firefox browser window. What settings do I change to turn off automatic streaming of MP3 audio?

Well, in fact I have the same problem. And by the way, I dislike marketing tricks as proposing that you buy the pro-version of quicktime if you ever want to download mp3-files again (as a right click on the quicktime browser-player does).
I already switched off every file link and stream-related ghismo that points towards quicktime as player, in the quickime control in control panel as wel on any other place I could find.
But the only thing I acchieved is, that IE now starts downloading as soon as I go to a link to an MP3 file and after some time it says "ready".
An firefox stubbornly keeps opening the quicktime player.
I tend to disagree with IE as I can't find any file on my system, with regardless what searching technique.
Is there a way to get things back to normal without uninstalling Quicktime and reinstalling my browsers (wich is useless as Itunes will prompt me to reinstall quicktime)???

  • Streaming AVCHD MTS files to Apple TV

I am still in search of the holy grail I think... I have yet to be able to figure out how to easily grab my MTS files from my Mac and stream them *as is* without transcoding, converting, etc on my TV. I just bought new Apple TV not for that purpose but can't seem to find anywhere here if I can use it to to stream AVCHD MTS files to my HDTV. Does anyone know? thanks

I just bought new Apple TV not for that purpose but can't seem to find anywhere here if I can use it to to stream AVCHD MTS files to my HDTV. Does anyone know?
I hate to point out the obvious, but the normal practice is for the user to purchase the device that supports what he wants to do and not buy a device and the try to force it to do something it was not designed to do.
To begin with, QT does not support Transport Streams such as TS/MTS/M2TS at all and only supports muxed MPEG-2 Program Streams employing specific audio formats... and then not natively. In other words, your file containers are not compatible with the QT player built into the TV/TV2 device. And, even if you place the data in a supported container, the audio and video data may or may not be compatible with the player codecs embedded in the device firmware.
If your primary purpose is to stream content muxed in an MPEG/MPG/MTS/M2TS wrapper, it might be more prudent to purchase a device designed specifically for such content. For instance, I gave my wife, brother-in-law, and son TV2 devices for Christmas. However, my father-in-law insisted on a device the would play the videos from his camcorder and indicated that at 87 years of age, he had no intention of transcoding anything. As a result, I got him the LaCinema Mini HD device. While I cannot confirm that your files would be compatible with this particular device, it or something similar may meet your needs.
Basically, you have three options here:
    1) You can convert your content to make it compatible with the TV device,
2 You can "hack" the TV device and modify its capabilities, or
    3) You can buy a device that actually does what you originally want it to do.

  • No full screen option for streaming video podcasts??

Why does Apple have to make things so difficult at times for something that should be so obvious and straightforward? Anyone know how to view streaming video podcasts in full screen?

Turning off the TV safe area is to prevent parts of the images from being lost, which is not the issue here. The problem I'm having is that there there are black bars around the entire displayed image. I believe this is called windowboxing. Letterboxing has black bars at top and bottom of screen, pillarboxing has the black bars at the left and right of screen. It's all to do with the ratio of the photographs.
My photos were all taken with a digital camera and are 4:3 ratio. I want the images to display FULL SCREEN. They are not doing this - not on a TV monitor - and not on a computer monitor!!! Is windowboxing hard-wired into the iDVD themes? This can't be right. PLEASE HELP!!!

  • Safari will  not play streaming video or audio

    Hi everyone,
I have had my iBook for a year and never even tried to take advantage of streaming video or audio b/c I had a dial-up connetion until very recently. Now that I have a high speed connection I would like to watch trailers and listen to music on myspace. I cannot watch trailers at www.apple.com/trailers/ or any video on myspace.com. Nor can I listen to music (I think they are xml files) on myspace.com. I'm currently running on Mac OSX 10.3.9 and Safari 1.3.1. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.
    Christopher

    Hi
Well I have the opposite effect here - the video plays fine on my MBP, yet not on my Intel iMac. On the iMac the video panel never appears. Rather tells me it needs Flash.
Safari is the same on both systems (or at least that's what I think). No plugin blocks are present. To test if the Preference files might be causing the problem, On the iMac, I moved to the desktop from the Macromedia folder in ~/Library/Preferences folder the folder inside the SharedObjects folder. Restarted the system/Safari but the video still does not play.
In the past, Layers magazine has not been a problem, however, I haven't viewed one for several months. Given what others have posted, there seems to be an oddity here that is not machine or Safari specific. I'll have to investigate more when I have time tomorrow.
Try the Video from another user account. See if this is system-wide, or just specific to your user account. BTW, video played fine on the iMac in Firefox.

  • When I stream my podcast I cannot forward or rewind

    My podcast
    http://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast/the-entrepreneural-life/id378947034
Shows up and plays fine online and in my computer but when I try to stream my podcast from an Ipod touch through wifi or on an iphone via 3g I cannot rewind, forward or even go back 30 seconds. Everything is grayed out.
Does anyone know how to fix this? Is it my server? Is it too slow?
    Please help!

The files are perfectly ordinary mp3s, and the one I looked at downloaded fast enough, so I can't see any problem there. I don't have an iPhone or an iPod Touch so I can't check the behaviour there - but, 'streaming'? - how are you doing this: I would have expected you to download the actual files onto the device and play them from there. If you are really playing files from elsewhere over wifi it wouldn't surprise me to find that you could only play them; but I can't comment any further. You could ask in the iPod Touch forum where someone should be able to comment.
