Streaming music from iPod to stereo

Does Linksys/Cisco make a device that will connect my iPhone to my stereo via wifi? I am looking to stream audio from my iPhone via wifi connection to a music bridge that will connect directly into the RCA jacks or headphone input of my stereo. It looks like the WMB54G is close, but does anyone know if it will support iPhone? Thank you in advance.

WMB54G is the right device. However, the software which comes with it will not work on the iphone.

Is there a way to stream music from my iPad to my iPod touch?  I have an iPod touch that I never use anymore since I got the iPad; so connecting the iPod to my stereo would be the best solution for me.

    2. I don't want to have to go to the "wired" iPod or iPad everytime I want to change songs; I want to stream to the iPod just like you can to a Windows PC, a Mac or an Apple TV, but using the smaller footprint iPod Touch that I already own.
    OK.
But it still doesn't do what you want.

Yes, you can. You need a bluetooth receiver connected to your stereo. Here's one: http://www.belkin.com/iwcatproductpage.process?product_id=508754
    It's cheaper from Amazon: http://www.amazon.com/Belkin-F8Z492tt-Bluetooth-Music-Receiver/dp/B003ICW4LU/ref =sr11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1278894888&sr=8-1

I am having issues with streaming music from iTunes on my MacBook Pro to my audio system through AirPlay.  Works perfectly with my iPod Touch.  The AirPlay icon appears irregularly in iTunes and when selected doesn't connect.  Running latest IOS software.

    Try:
    - Reset the iOS device. Nothing will be lost
Reset iOS device: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Unsync all music and resync
    - Reset all settings
Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup. See:
    iOS: How to back up
    - Restore to factory settings/new iOS device.
If still problem, make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store since it appears you have a hardware problem.

    You said:
No, I do not want to "factory reset" my iPod. No I do not wish to do anything crazy long or hard to fix this.
That may be necessary, It is not what you want to do/not do but what is required to resolve your problem.

  • How to stream music from stereo onto Airport wireless system

I have an Imac and 2 stereo systems connected to their own airport express.  I can stream music from Itunes on my Imac to either stereo with no problem using airfoil software.  My question is can I use the apple network to play music FROM one stereo to the other stereo's speakers.  I want to do this because i have an old turntable connected to one stereo and would like to listen to it on my other stereo speakers sometimes.

I'm having the same but have thought of a solution.
First, it is a shame that others such as Tesserax are familiar with the capabilities of said products but offer no real creative solutions.  At one time I did consider myself the finest most creative solution providing technician in Los Angeles, yes working for the finest company on the planet (use your imagination), however, my time although not shortlived, did come to an end due to disagreement or two.  Long Live Vinyl, Praise the Turntable Sir (or Madam).
Now, Think outside the box.  No the stereo won't do it.  No the turntable won't.  Let's face it the impedance of the turntable's audio out is of no issue since you'd like to connect the stereo to the MBP (nice job on using fancy words kinda out of context Tesserax, way to cop out.).  So, given that the unit in question does have a stereo in, and the stereo itself does have a stereo out, then we do need something to bridge the connection.  Within this theory is a few options. So what's it gonna be my friend, wired, or wireless?
    1. Connect MBP and Stereo (example implying that there is an RCA audio output, can be subbed with a headphone jack of 1/8 or 1/4 inch varieties)
-Wired connection, STEREO to RCA/female 1/8 stereo to CABLE 1/8 stereo on both ends to MBP audio input.
-Wireless connection, STEREO to RCA/female 1/8 stereo to BLUETOOTH TRANSMITTER to BLUETOOTH RECEIVER to MBP audio input.
    2. Software
         -Purchase Airfoil
-Fire up GarageBand create an audio track and monitor the input of the track (MBP audio in).
-Tell Airfoil to stream audio anywhere you want on your network.
    3. BAM enjoy, you can even get airfoil speakers, a great app, to do the dirty work of other airplay supported goodies.  That will turn your iOS stuffs, other macs, PCs, all into zones to stream to.
I haven't tested this yet, sounds pretty obvious, kicking myself for not thinking of it earlier.

  • Apple TV: Streaming music from Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud or chrome to stereo

Streaming music from Spotify, Youtube, Soundcloud or from chrome to stereo: I stream all of my music rather than using itunes. Does Apple TV allow me to easily stream wahtever audio is playing on my MacBook Air to my stereo?

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
Unless you use iTunes you can only stream audio from your Mac if your Mac supports mirroring.
AirPlay Mirroring requires a second-generation Apple TV or later, OS X 10.8 or better and is supported on the following Mac models: iMac (Mid 2011 or newer), Mac mini (Mid 2011 or newer), MacBook Air (Mid 2011 or newer), and MacBook Pro (Early 2011 or newer). You can see which Mac you have and which operating system you are using by selecting 'About this Mac' from the Apple menu in the top left corner of your Mac and selecting the 'More Info' button.

  • Streaming Music from Extreme to Express to My Stereo

I have the new Airport Extreme base station attached to my iMac. I would like to stream music from iTunes to Airport Express, which is attached to my stereo. Can anyone point to a thread that explains how to do this? BTW, my Extreme is an encrypted network.

I've been stalking this topic for days. Loved the new posts today. Alas, none helped. Granted, I'm very new to the mac platform.
Have new mac. Have new extreme base station (very nice). New mac very happy with new extreme -- internet connection is excellent.
Bought an express. Plugged it in to the stereo. Streaming itunes - so cool, i'm thinking.
Express just blinks amber. Mac refuses to recognize its existence -- it only wants the extreme. Moved the express to within 20 unobstructed feet of the Mac. No change.
    Tried the hard reset. Nothing.
Looked for the controversial IPv6 workaround. But no IPv6 option comes up.
Apple help is particularly frustrating because it's all geared to the old extreme unit, which apparently has different menu options and such. There's no "configure IPv6" to click.
Reviewed the post "AirPort Express: How to join an existing wireless network in client mode." But I cannot even do the first step, asking the Mac to connect to the express. Because it says there's no express to connect to, only the extreme. The Airport setup assistant only recognizes the extreme, and no other device, such as the express. Drats.
Configured the extreme to WPA Personal 2. Is that an issue? Or is this particular express unit a refurb in the making?
I sure like the idea of playing itunes on the stereo, but keeping the nano out of reach of my 3 year old.
    Please, thoughts? Thanks in advance.

  • Can time capsule allow me to stream music from my itunes library directly to my home stereo system?  Is there anyway to access my itunes library from my tv?

can time capsule allow me to stream music from my itunes library directly to my home stereo system?  Is there anyway to access my itunes library from my tv?

Sorry, not sure if I understand what you are asking.
Are you thinking of moving your iTunes / Media Folder from your Mac to the Time Capsule?
If you do this...when...not if...the Time Capsule drive has a problem....you lose everything because you have no backup for the iTunes library.
A much safer plan would be to add an external hard drive to your computer and move the iTunes library there.
Then, if you are using Time Machine for backups, it will back up both your Mac and the hard drive.  Now you have "originals" on one drive and backups on another.
In order to stream music from the iTunes library, iTunes must always be open on your computer.
Is there anyway to access my itunes library from my tv?
Yes, if your TV has an HDMI input and you have an Apple TV.

  • Streaming music from Phone onto Bluetooth car set-up

does anyone know if iphone " Streams " music from the ipod function . If so , there is a new alpine head unit that will play that music through blue tooth . Looking for some help on this thanks
    Jon

i have the alpine ida-x100 head unit..you need a seperate bluetooth adapter for it..once thats installed you can use both the phone functions for wirelss calling through your speakers and it will stream any music from your iphone. there is a source button that scrolls through what is hooked up to the head unit. you will then see am/fm an i pod (if hooked up) and then bluetooth music if your iphone is set up on the unit. its a great unit i bought it specifically when i bought my 3gs

  • Music from iPod to Airport Express via third party router?

If I get an Airport Express to stream music from an iPod Touch to a home audio receiver, does the stream travel through the existing home network or directly to the Airport Express?
If through the network, will the Airport Express work as a wi-fi access point for an existing wireless network?
I am trying to determine if the iPod must be in range of the Airport Express, or anywhere that has a wi-fi signal. Hope my question makes sense.

So the Airport Express will act as either a client or router, but never an access point for an existing network, correct?
Actually the AX can perform as a wireless access point with an existing network as well. A typical way to do this is to connect the AX by Ethernet to another router or Ethernet switch; reconfigure the AX as a bridge and to provide a wireless network.
Can you tell me if the Apple TV works like a client as well?
The Apple TV can ONLY operate as a wireless client. It does not provide its own wireless network and must be connected to another network either by wire or wireless.
iPod and Apple TV both connect to wi-fi router, and audio/video streams from iPod > router > Apple TV?
That is correct. The audio stream starts at the iTunes host device and ends up at an AirPlay-capable device. To get between the two, both devices must be connected to a network ... either by wire or wireless.
