Streaming music to the home stereo

I'm trying to figure out how to send streaming video to my stereo in the living room from my bedroom.
I have a G5 Mac running OSX 10.6.2, connected to an Airport Extreme.
What do I need to send streaming audio (preferably Pandora music) from the iMac to my stereo in my living room as far as software and hardware?

I was wondering about the same thing. It looks like it is related to Bluetooth profiles. I am not sure why apple is limiting the Bluetooth profiles it is available just for the headset. Bluetooth offers a lot more flexibility. I am surprised with this much limitation from a company that thinks a lot about innovation. Without this feature you can not play music on a headset or car stereo via FM channel. I use a Motorola car kit that allows you hear to conversation through car stereo, but I can not use it to listen music. I am used to fusing about these kind of stuff for other companies, but apple deserves a lot off criticism with their approach.

Is there anyone having an issue with the apple tv when selecting music from the home screen?

Is there anyone in the community having an issue playing music from the home screen of the apple tv? When selecting the music app my apple tv restarts. If anyone else is having the same issue and has corrected the problem please share the solution.

Use AirPlay.

Music on external drive. Use I Tunes to organize. Stream to TV and home stereo through Mac Book and Apple TV. Updated to Mavericks operating system. Now Many times art does not match song or music stops playing altogether. Any ideas ?

Now have two issues when playing music. 1) Many times album art displayed on TV will not match song playing, and 2) Music will just stop altogether sometimes. Any ideas ?

I have just purchased Airport Express and want to use it to stream pandora from Ipad to Home Stereo. I have the necessary RC jack and already have a home wifi network. any suggestions?

While playing Pandora double click the home button, swipe left twice. you should see music controls and an "output" icon. Click the output icon and select the appropriate device.

How do i extend airplay to stream music at the same time to AEX and ATV2

I have a new ATV2 and an AEX, my macbook, 2 Ipod touches and an Ipad2.
I figured out how to setup my ATV2 and airplay through my macbook and my touches. My ATV2 is in my living room on a Yamaha 6.1 receiver with 2 channels. I have 6 speakers in my living room on channel A and a speaker in my bathroom on channel B.
So....I decided to grab an extra Bose speaker and bring it to my foyer/kitchen and hook it up to my AEX since i cant hear the music too well when im cooking or in my office from the speakers in the living room.
I setup the AEX to connect direct to the speaker. When Im on Itunes (either mac book or touch) i only get two options to airplay, AEX or ATV2.
My question: How do I extend airplay to stream music on BOTH AEX and ATV2 with the same music at the same time?

As you are already aware both the 802.11n AirPort Express Base Station (AXn) and ATV2 are AirPlay "speakers." When both devices are properly connected to your home's wireless or wired network, both should show up in iTunes as in your case. Also the iTunes AirPlay speaker selector should provide you with an option to choose multiple speakers. As a minimum, you should see: Computer, the AXn, the ATV2, and the Multiple Speakers options. Is this not the case?

After update to ioS 7.0.3, Airplay function for playing music with the Home amplifier doesn't work anymore.

I used to listen to Ipad music on my home video using Airplay function.
After updating to iOS 7.0.3, the Airplay icon is no more available for choosing local/remote reading.
Does anybody has an idea?

So everytime they update there OS I should go and re-read the entire manual, I'm not the only one who had this problem, why was is so hard to find an answer from Apple, why didn't they just say read the manaul, all I got was bunch of links saying to make sure your wi-fi is setup correctly, reset yout ipad, they didn't answer the question....

Airport Express to extend network and stream music at the same time?

Hi. I have an Airport Extreme base station (primary wireless access point) and an Airport Express. Currently I connect my Hi-Fi to the Airport Express and stream music from iTunes, but I would like to also make use of its Ethernet port to connect other wired devices to my network. Is this possible; can it be used for both simultaneously? I've tried various configurations but not managed to achieve this.

If you have an AirPort Extreme(n) and AirPort Express(n), the ethernet port for the Express will be active if you "Enable ethernet client" during setup using AirPort Utility.
It sounds like you have either the "g" version of the Extreme or Express or both. Both devices must be "n" capable to use this option. If you don't see an option on the Wireless setup page of the Express to "Enable ethernet client", you have a "g" Express and this function is not available with your device.

Unfortunately, you can only stream content from iTunes from your iMac to the Apple TV. However, saying that both iTunes on your computer and your Apple TV itself have a large selection of Internet radio stations.

Problem streaming music from the icloud to iphone whilst driving

I thought it was a great idea to purchase itunes match and have all my music in the cloud not taking up memory in the iphone - which i stream via bluetooth whist driving. However, the problem now appears to be the amount of 3g signal available when driving fluctuating so much causing the music to stop dead in its tracks in certain areas. Am I doing something wrong? I am surprised that there is no buffer option - or is there?

Too whom it may interest, I found the cure. I unpluged the Apple TV2 from power and repluged it after 5 minutes and rebooted my Iphone 4. Problem solved.
