Streaming music using Bluetooth breaks up on new 4th gen. ITouch

I recently bought a new iTouch 4 and now have trouble streaming music using Bluetooth...this did not happen with my older device, also 4G...any type of physical interference, walking between iPod and Bluetooth receiver causes a loss of sound...I have to set my new device next to the receiver to ensure no imteruption...with my older device I set it across the room and never had an interruption - I wish I hadn't dropped it off the roof of our house - by the way,it still works just looks like its been through a war...any ideas?

- Try resetting network settings: Settings>General>Reset>Reset Network Settings. Yu will have to repair BT devices and reeent network passwords.
- The restore from backup
- The restore to factory defaults/new iPod.
If you still have the problem I would make an appoitment at the Genius Bar of  an Apple store.

  • Unable to register or sync new 4th gen iTouch

New 4th generation iTouch won't allow me complete the initial registration process in iTunes. I'm unable to sync or do anyting (Windows 7).

Open iTunes's Preferences and go to the Device tab.  If there is an entery for a backup delete it. and try again.
Next would be to place the iPod in recovery mode and restore via iTunes.  For recovery mode see:

  • How do I transfer all the content from my old 3rd gen to my new 4th gen iTouch, including apps and notes. I replaced an old 2nd gen with the 3rd last year and lost all my contacts and notes.

What's the best way to transfer all the content, including notes and apps, from my old 3rd gen to my new 4th gen. When I replaced my last iTouch with the 3rd gen I lost all my contacts and notes.

Backup the 3g by syncing in iTunes. Then connect the new one and sync everything to it from your backup.

  • HT204266 i got this new 4th gen. itouch but it wont let me download apps. i type the password and it says waiting under the icon but it doesnt download. then it tells me that it cant connect to itunes. whys this happening?

i have my account set, but i cant find out how to get the apps to properly download. am i doing something wrong?

10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) is an upgrade from Leopard, which you apparently have (10.5.8).
iTunes 11 requires 10.6.8 (not 10.8.6 as you have typed). If your Mac is an Intel one with at least 1Gb of RAM then you can buy Snow Leopard in the online Apple Store (type 'Snow Leopard' in the search box rather than browsing for it).
Once installed, download the combo updater to bring it up to 10.6.8:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399
You will then be able to install iTunes 11. However if your Mac has a PPC processor you cannot install Snow Leopard and will be unable to proceed. To check this, choose 'About This Mac' from the Apple menu and look where it says 'Processor' - it needs to say 'Intel' for you to be able to upgrade.

  • Using a Windows formatted iPod Nano (4th Gen) with Bootcamp on a Mac(Win XP

Hey I was wondering if anyone knows if you can use a previously formatted iPod Nano (4th Gen) with a Mac that has XP Bootcamped on to it. If the Nano is placed in manually manage music with the original computer it was formatted with, will it be able to accept music, movies, podcasts, etc from the windows on the Mac or will they still be incompatible?

Well, I have 4 internal drive bays filled already, is there room somewhere for 5th one in the box? I wasn't aware of it if there is?? My mac is MacPro3,1, early 2008.
That macsales.com link is interesting but I'm not in the US (I'm in Croatia), and all those brands are supidly expensive here, that $80 esata docking station is almost $200 here... bahh. For that price I may as well buy a whole new 3TB external disk, I want to dock the old one to save money.
I've browsed around and I've found Icy Box docks, which have much more reasonable prices:
    BOX IB-110StUS2-B
    ICY BOX IB-111StUS2-Wh
    ICY BOX IB-115StUS2HC
They all claim to have OSX support... anyone have any experience with them?

  • I have a new 4th genreation itouch, backing up old one for new, didn't work!

I have a new 4th generation itouch.  I was told to back up the old 2nd generation itouch and then when I plugged in the new one choose the to use the back up.  Nothing except the wallpaper transferred.  What do I do, none of the apps or games transferred.  I'm afraid to plug in either one.

deggie- thanks. We got his iPod restored and got his library set up. Now the problem I'm having is I did something to my library. It's now blank. I've been careful not to erase my iPod, but even when I plug it in, my library is blank. I tried following the directions for creating separate iTunes libraries for each iPod, but pretty sure I did something wrong, even though I followed the directions step by step.
    What do I do now?

    - Transfer your iTunes' purchases to the new computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iPhone, iPad, or iPod to a computer
    - Try making a backup of the iPod by right clicking on the iPod  under Devices in iTunes and selecting Backup.
    - Connect your new iPod and restore the iPod from that backup if you wish.

  • New 4th gen ipod won't connect to internet

My sister just bought a new 4th gen ipod touch today. Everything works fine with it except for the internet. Now I own a 2nd gen ipod touch and my internet connection works just fine. Why doesn't hers work? I've tried turning the wifi on and off, and turning the airplane mode on and off as well. Our wifi only works through our computer modem. Is the ipod just not picking up the modem's signal or is something wrong with her ipod?

    - Does the SSID of your router show up in the list of networks available on the 4G iPod?
    - Have you tried resetting th 4G iPod:
Press and hold the On/Off Sleep/Wake button and the Home
button at the same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears
    - If SSID still  does not show up on the 4G but does show on and the 2G iPod then I would first restore the iPod from backup.  If still problems then restore the iPd to factory defaults.new iPOd
    - If still not SSID then you likely have a defective iPOd and should make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store or you could call AppleCare.

  • New 4th gen ipod not recognized by imac

My new 4th gen nano is not recognized by my imac, when i plug it in the message comes up 'Inserted disk contains no files OSX can read. To continue with disk click ignore.' After clicking ignore the nano is not to be found. I have a G4 running OSX 10.3.9, is that my problem? Is there a fix or not, do i have to update to the latest OSX?
    Thank You. Slang3

Yes. Refer to the *Mac system requirements* of Apple - iPod nano - Technical Specifications (or on the back of the box the Nano came in) for the minimum OS & iTunes versions you will need.
