Streaming radio apps freezing

Nearly every app I have to stream radio freezes and buffers every 30-40 seconds. The only ones that work are radio.com (CBS radio) and Pandora. Any ideas?

If they are enabled for AirPlay, they will work.
IHeartRadio and TuneIn radio app work fine.
Look next to the volume slider in the app for the AirPlay icon.

  • Streaming radio app isn't working in background anymore on iPhone

    Hi everyone,
Just changed Network provider on my iPhone and since my streaming radio app isn't working in background anymore.
Changed the SIM card, got the new network and since as soon as want to listen to streaming radio while surfing on safari or use an other app the streaming radio app is turning off.
Before could do both without any issues.
I only use the radio app once connected on wifi.
Does anyone have any idea what happened?
Thank you in advance for any answer.
    Cheers

It went well again by itself...
Thank you for those how had a thought about it.
    Cheers.

  • Data used when streaming radio app

    Hello
I like to listen to the "KCSM Jazz 91" on my iPhone 5 (great jazz music, and I don't have any financial interest in it), but I'm wondering how much data a typical app like this uses.  I've been listening to it only when I'm using WiFi, but would like to when I'm out and about and using my cellular data, which is limited.
I know, I could just listen for an hour and check the amount of data used, but it's much more fun asking fine people like you!
    Thanks for your help.

I had the same question and found this useful (assume stream of 128 kbps): http://www.indexcom.com/iphone/streamdata.html and http://www.indexcom.com/iphone/MobileStreamCap.pdf

  • Removing IOS 5 and reverting to ios 4 (iphone 4) - as it will not allow me to download apps or stream music on radio apps.

    HI
i updated to ios 5 today on my iphone 4 much to my dismay it cant stream radio apps i paid for anymore because it somehow HOGS the internet, but yet when i tried to play one of the multiplayer adventure games it is fine.  i dont know if its an INDIVIDUAL app issue whereby i have to enable or disable something or something within the settings to do with the itnernet i need to change?
i cant even download apps on my iphone either it gives an error reading something along the lines of my internet; i connect at home with wifi and successfully stream music radio apps through my home speaker system; or i did do so before updating to this TRASH!. so i'm sure you can understand why i now ask to remove ios5 otherwise there is no point in me keeping the iphone, i have one year left on my mobile contract with orange to pay for.
i need to perform a downgrade, i have ONE back up from july which would be the ios4 version if i restore it using this back up file in itunes, would it definately remove the ios 5 and put the ios4 backon my iphone ?
    Lorrie

    You can NOT downgrade iOS.
That said, millions people have updated to iOS 5 without experiencing the problems you report. Why don't you try some basic troubleshooting before you resort to drastic measures.
Restoring from your backup will NOT revert the phone to iOS 4.
First, try to reset all settings. This will re-set the network settings and clear any personalization (wallpaper, custom assigned ringtones, etc.) but you will not lose any data.
Then, try a simple re-set. If that doesn't work, try restoring from your last backup. If that doesn't work, Erase all content and settings and set it up as a new device.  It's possible one or more of the apps you are trying to use

  • Streaming radio programs using IPad Apps/Safari Browser

I love the streaming radio in ITunes for OSX. As the IPad, IPhone and IPod Touch version does not have the streaming radio, we have to use streaming radio apps or, where available, web sites.   I have IPad 1.
The trouble comes when you want to send streaming radio to your speakers via AirPlay and the Airport Express.
While I know ITunes will stream via Airport Express, I have not been able to find clear info on whether Internet radio apps will do so.  Someone said AOL radio does, but I want to find others, since my last experience with AOL was not great sound wise.  I have used Itunein and WunderRadio apps, but cannot tell if they support AirPlay on the IPad .
Does anyone have firsthand experience sending streaming radio via APPs or even via Safari browser to AirPlay?
    Thank you.

If they are enabled for AirPlay, they will work.
IHeartRadio and TuneIn radio app work fine.

  • Ipad drops streaming radio when other apps are in use

why does ipad drop streaming radio app when other apps are in use?
what can I do to prevent this, if anything?

To rule out the app itself, try downloading another free radio app (CBC Canada, iFreeRadio, for example) and see if they behave the same way.
Background radio streaming should work fine - one of the types of apps that can truly run in background.

  • I use to stream music from my iphone to my airport express via my stereo, it no longer is an option on the radio app. what has happened?

Not sure what has happened to my airport expres but I can no longer stream music to my stereo via the TuneIn Radio app or using my macbook pro, need help in fixing this problem.

    UPDATE:
I have been stress testing StreamToMe in the house and  "out in the wild" and it is working very well.  There are one or two clunky steps in order to switch from the in-my-house wifi to the cellular network but it's just better (to me) than uploading about 750 GB of music that is restricted by iTunes rules and limitations to "the cloud".   The major advantage is that this solution plays more file formats than iTunes will.  In addition, I can access music files anywhere on my mac - even if they are not in my iTunes library. Playlists from iTunes are available, too.
I am not associated with this company in any way.  I am astounded that there are not more solutions available and that there are not more people discussing this issue.  Subscription models like Spotify are great and the cloud is fine for those that don't have large libraries  But when I have a humongous library and I don't want to move it around up and down to someone else's server or pay to access it after I have already paid for it I find the lack of ease of doing this baffling.
I hope that this info can help someone looking for information relating to this type of solution...

  • Tunein radio app unable to do bluetooth streaming

I installed the free tunein radio app from the app store and it works fine on its own. However, when I attempted to stream to a set of BT speakers the app goes silent. There is not a problem with the hardware as the Touchpad can stream other contents to the same set of speakers.
So I emailed tunein support and got a quite unsatisfactory response. Their response was that they are not responsible for "third-party" issues. I don't know what they meant by that, since it was their app developed specifically for the TouchPad, and I would think they would make sure that it works with the capability of that device.
I am a user of the paid tunein app under iOS and I do like the app but not able to stream BT is unfortunate.
    Anyone have similar problems?
Post relates to: HP TouchPad (WiFi)

Unfortunately, I have no way to replicate this since I don't have any BT Speakers/Headphones.

  • Chgd computers, now can't find the long, long list of streaming radio stations! I had no app before but now says "there is no app to open"

On my old computer (last week) I'd been pulling up a long list of free streaming radio stations.  Now can't find it anywhere from ITunes. When I click on "Radio" it says "There is no app chosen for this".  I didn't need an app before, but evidently I need one now.  There are several apps. Can anyone tell me which I should choose - Pandora, IHeartRadio, TuneIn or what?
I much appreciate any and all help. Thanks in advance!

This indicates you had a bad install. You need to completely remove Office and reinstall using your new CD Key. See instructions here. Do not do the simple remove, Use the COMPLETELY REMOVE ALL FILES steps.
    http://www.officeformachelp.com/2012/12/office-for-mac-2011-remove-office/
so I purchased a new Mincrosoft Office 2011 Student/Home Pin to install Microsoft Office.
You don't purchase a PIN. A PIN is generated when you install Office. You need a CD Key. If you bought Office365, you activate online.
I have issues with the Microsoft User Data - are there supposed to be two? and where exactly do they belon. They are in the Documents file at the moment.
Unless you used Outlook or Entourage you can delete both Microsoft User Data folders. When you install Office it will create a new one. Only Outlook & Entourage used this folder for data. W,E,P stores it's data in the User's Library/Application Support/Microsoft folder now.

  • Radio APPs (AOL & Tuner), How do you add stations/streams

Does anyone have any insigts/connections to the two very good radio APPs AOL and Tuner. They are both great and have sent both numerous e-mails to ask how we can get our college radio stations and college game broadcast streams link to AOL & Tuner.
With Apple and the iPhone refusing to allow us to listen to streaming radio stations and college sports broadcasts, AOL and Tuner appear to be our only hope.
If anyone know how to submit to Tuner and AOL our request to add our radio stations, I would appreciate it.
Appears AOL is only CBS affiliated stations, while Tuner has many college stations.
    Thx Much

Im not totally sure, but i dont think you can add stations with AOL Radio...
as for Tuner, if you go to SEARCH, then tap OPEN, you can add a station there...but you need to know the actual web address of the stream(not just the web address of the radio stations website, if you understand what i mean)

  • How to turn streaming radio off

I am having turning streaming radio or Pandora off when using OS4. The stream doesn't go off when switching to another app. I can't see an on/off button in the radio or Pandora app. I like using multple apps but would like to turn off the stream.

The app has a play/pause button that will stop it. If it's in the background, you can double click the home button and scroll left to get to the audio controls.

  • When I want to share my iPad mini photos, the app freezes

Like the title says: the iPhoto and Camera app freeze when I try to share photos to my photo stream or to Facebook. I don't really know how to deal with this. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Thanks for helping. Because of New Year's celebrations I didn't get around to trying it out until now. Thanks again and have a Happy New Year!

  • Whenever I try to stream radio (pls or m3u) a program in MS Office opens instead of streaming.  I've tried reinstalling both Office and iTunes.  Any ideas?

Whenever I try to stream radio (pls or m3u), instead of streaming the computer opens a program in MS Office.  I've tried re-installing both Office and iTunes, but that did not fix the problem.  Any ideas about a solution?

You need to right (or Control) click on your playlist file and select "Get Info."
Then in the Get Info Dialog go to the Open with section and select the app
(like VLC or iTunes) that you want to open when you double click on the
playlist.  You can click on the Change All button if you want all files of the
same type to launch with the same app.

  • Radio App in Mac OS?

Why is there no built-in radio apps that comes with Mac OS software?

    You mean like iTunes????
If you don't have an Internet Radio tab, open iTunes Preferences, General tab, and select Internet Radio. Then, in the Music section, there will be an Internet tab where you can choose a station.
If your station isn't listed, you can add it with the Open Stream… command in the File menu.
