Streaming slow on my mac
When streaming videos and audio on my new macbook pro retina, I experience very long buffering times, especially when viewing HD video on sites like Vimeo or YouTube. Flash Player stops, then more buffering occurs. Is there anything I can do to fix this issue?

Can there be more than one icloud account on a computer? I have an icloud account with my iphone but would like to view my photo stream on my husbands mac. I do not have a mac but an older PC. thanks
Welcome to the Apple community.
The simple answer is yes you can. On a single user computer, the user can have secondary iCloud accounts, which they can add through the system preferences > mail, contacts and calendars. The only drawback here is that only the primary iCloud account can use photo stream. This can be worked around by having a second user account on the Mac. Each user account could then have a different primary iCloud account, one for you and one for him, your account could then receive your photo stream pictures.
Are you also aware that you can have iCloud on your PC and download your photos stream pictures to it. -

purchased a 30GB, 5G iPod from authorised apple reseller in my country.
- It takes quite a long time to be recognized by iTunes (version 6.0.3) on my G4 (933 MHz, 1 GB RAM, OS X 10.4.3) whereas on the PC at work it reads it automatically.
- iTunes is also extremely slow when renaming a song or any other details and its quite irritating.
- I just checked on the "about" subject of the iPods menu and noticed that the format is "Windows"! Should it be Windows or is that the reason its so slow on the Mac?
- Or is it a matter of USB 2.0 ports and 1.0 which i think is the version on my G4?

thanxWell, if you have a computer with an expansion slot (like a Powerbook with a PC card slot or a Mac with PCI slots in the back), you can buy a USB 2.0 interface card and plug your iPod into that. Otherwise you're pretty much out of luck I think. Even if you get a hold of a Firewire dock connector (I have one for my old 3G iPod), it will only charge and won't sync a 5G iPod.

No, Photo Stream is syncing with iCloud. The most recent 1000 photos in iCloud will be buffered on your mac, even if you do not import them to your photo library, if you enable My Photo Stream.

Very slow to start mac os after instaling Windows thru bootcamp
Hello. After installing Windows 7 using bootcamp, my mac became a lot slower to start mac os lion. I have filevault enabled, and it is taking a lot of seconds to display the filevault login screen.
It is also taking a lot of time to detect my magic mouse. Sometimes I need to turn of and on the mouse a lot of times to get it detected. This process usally takes minutes.

I regularly get a prompt reading as follows: "The "QuickTime Plug-in 7.6.6" plug-in is slowing down your Mac. You can wait for it to recover or stop it now." I've tried waiting, but nothing happens. I "stop it now" and lose the page I'm reading.

Ever since updating to latest version of Firefox it has been painfully slow on my Mac running OS 10.5.8.
Websites just hang, and never get to where they are supposed to go. The status loop on tabs just spins and spins but never loads the site. Go to the same site on Safari and there in a second. How can I do Streaming Video from a Mac Pro
I want to set up a small family web site and run streaming video off my Mac Pro. Do I need to have OS X server to do this? Can I run OS X applications like Final Cut Express on OS X server?
You can run all the same apps on OS X server as on the client. for streaming video you may want to upgrade QuickTime to QT Streaming Server.

iCloud requires OS X 10.7.5 or higher, and iCloud photo sharing (which includes shared videos) requires OS X Mavericks v10.9 and either iPhoto '11 version 9.5 or Aperture 3.5. Without these, you can't access the shared stream videos on your Mac. However, at the present time you cannot save a shared video from a shared stream anyway, you can only view it. If you want it on your Mac you’ll need to import the video to iPhoto from your camera roll using your usb cable as explained here: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4083.

My internet runs slow on my Mac mini after I loded the new OS
I sopped by the apple store with my Mac book air. It worked well. I took it home still same problem I have two wireless networks Uverse and AirPort Extreme. My iMac was connected to the Uverse and the MacBook Air and Mac mini was connected to the Airport. When I connect all three to the Uverse everything works well. When I connect any one to the AirPort it is very slow. It worked fine with the old OS but not with the new OS. Is look like problem is with the AirPort Extreme and the new OS.

Why is Compressor way slower on 1 Mac Pro
This is about Compressor 3.5.3 but it's not really about the version.
I have two identical MacPros 2,1 models both running OSX 10.6.8 and Final Cut 7.0.3 and Compressor 3.5.3.
The only difference in the machine is one has 20 gigs of ram and the other has 24 gigs.
I'm capturing BetaSP tape, 30 min loads, and then converting it to ProRes LT with Compressor. Same settings in both instances of Compressor.
I load 12 captures into one machine's Compressor and hit submit. It finishes in a little over two hours.
I load only 5 captures into the other machine's Compressor and hit submit. It finished in over 5 hours.
They are both 8-core machines with the same processors and are identical otherwise. I can't believe that 4 more gigs of ram would make that much difference.
Also they are sourcing off identical raids as well and writing back to identical raids. Why is one machine so majorly SLOW!Hi

• Move external/secondary hard disks that are not to be used to Trash - To be disconnected/turned off
• Goto Spotlight and set the rest of them under Integrity (not to be scanned)
• Set screen-saver to a folder without any photo - then make an active corner (up right for me) and set
pointer to this - turns on screen saver - to show that it has nothing to show
• No File Vault on - Important
• NO - TimeMachine - during iMovie/iDVD work either ! IMPORTANT
• Lot's of icons on DeskTop/Finder also slows down the Mac noticeably
• Start a new User-Account and log into this and iMovie get's faster too - if a project is in a hurry
• And let Mac run on Mains - not just on battery

With Mountain Lion, my previous solutions were broken. (Cocoa JT and ASFRecorderX)
Now, I haven't been able to even stream mms videos (wmv). How the heck do I do it now? Should I just use Windows via Fusion?The problem with VLC is that it does not recognize formats automatically.
You have to select among the many file formats, codecs and file save format to capture a stream.
The previous apps I used automatically reconized formats and just streamed them.
