Upgraded to new Itunes release and now music is hanging while streaming to remote speakers. Using Pismo with airport express for remote speakers

Some weeks ago, I started getting unknown error -15000 when I tried to stream music from my AEBSn to to remote speakers connected wirelessly to an AXn. I found Apple's iTunes 8 article on -15000, http://support.apple.com/kb/TS2277, that blamed old firmware, but I am using the latest versions. I've tried pulling power on both wireless units and rebooted the Mac hosting the music but no luck. A search through the posts showed nothing promising. Has anyone else seen this error or have any suggestions? My versions are:
Mac OS 10.6.2
iTunes 9.0.3
AEBSn 7.4.2
AXn 7.4.2

ITunes 8.01, Error -15000 can not stream to Remote Speakers

Hello,
I need some help on this error which started to appear with iTunes 8.
The error is the -15000 and I can not play music via my AppleTV (remote speakers)
I have just installed iTunes 8.01.
and instead of solving the problem, it now actually says hat the firewall is set wrongly. (must have been a Genius who came up with that idea)
Question: what are the correct firewall setting ?

What Firewall settings do you have selected in System Preferences> Security> Firewall?
Are you using any other security software like 3rd party firewall software?
Also, does this happen in another user account?

My Airport Express will not stream music to my remote speakers through the laptop (windows Vista), gives error code -15000. Works fine from my IPAD and Ipod. Any thoughts, suggestions?

Itunes is throwing a -15000 error code on my Windows vista. Ipad and Ipod work great for streaming to remote speakers, trying to use the computer and it throws the error code.
Any thoughts? I've rebooted the laptop, modem, and AE, even plugged in the laptop recommended by other users, still nothing.

Music dropout when remote speakers used through AE

Installed two AE for two seperate sets of remove speakers. Intent to create muti-room sound. System connects but music drops out enire system every 30 seconds for about two seconds each time. Has anyone found a solution.
1 AE tech support doesn't have an answer for this other than suggesting I buy apple router sporting 80211n. But no guarantees. Currently running g network showing 48megbts signal at location of AE.
2 Regressing to earlier version of itunes eliminates the simultaneous multi room function... and doesn't resolve the problem.
3 Changed router chanels to 9 and 10 with no diference
4 No problems streaming audio or video to xbox or tivo
This is my third set of AE over the last four years. EAch time the solution failed to meet advertised expectations without significant work-arounds..... not very apple if you ask me.

ITunes doesn't stream to airport express remote speakers

Since I updated iTunes (v8.0) I can't stream audio to my remote speakers via airport express.
The remote speakers are visible in iTunes, I can select them but airtunes can't connect. I don't get an error message, after a few seconds iTunes plays the music with my PC speakers. I did a firmware update for AX and had the latest version of the airport utility. I did a hardware reset and reconfigured the AX. I disabled the firewall. Nothing helps... Any suggestions?

The next time you are in iTunes, click on the speaker icon at the bottom of the screen. You should be able to see your remote speakers and your computer speaker. Click so that both are on. Can you connect?

Music pauses intermittently when remote speakers selected

When I stream iTunes via remote speakers, the music "auto-pauses" for approximately 2.5 seconds at about 6-9 second intervals. Continuously. Why? I've disabled IPv6 and made sure that "Disable iTunes volume control for remote speakers" is NOT selected in "Advanced" iTune preferences. Music has skips on local speakers when using remote speakers via airtunes

Using airtunes connected to a stereo the computer (Windows media center) "skips" like a bad CD but the remote speakers never do. Turning off multiple speakers and the skipping goes away. Have upgraded software, wireless router, and airport but have not found anything that resolves the issue. Using iTunes 6.0.4.2

ITunes 8: I can no longer connect to remote speakers via Airport Express

Cannot connect to my remote speakers, worked before iTunes 8"
I have restarted the computer, iTunes, QT 7.5.5, run disk utility
I get the following error code (-3256) Apple KB research says:

I followed the KB link, tried KB solution, then I sent this off to Apple.
"Mac G5 2.0 Ghz, OS 10.5.4 just installed iTunes 8, one (1) Airport Express connected to remote speakers. Firewall under Sharing in System preferences does not offer firewall access. Firewall is under Security but "Advanced" is grayed out.

I just got off a 30+ minute phone call with an Apple Support rep about this. I'm getting error -3256. The rep was patient and tried hard to solve the problem, but was basically clueless. I have a case number and was encouraged to call back tomorrow to speak with a product support specialist.
This stinks. AirTunes is my primary way of playing music from my computer. With no obvious way of rolling back to iTunes 7, this is a big deal.

Apple TV (1st gen) does not appear in remote speakers list

Dear Fellow Forumers,
I am surprised that APPLE, a highly rated and respected company leaves such a great number of users like me sweating for months without any support.
It is a shame that the problems I encountered, and still do, are not repaired by a new upgrade or by a clear fixing procedure published here on the forum.
iTunes 9 with my Apple TV were working perfectly until my nightmare started few months ago when the I upgraded for the iTunes version 10.1.
Needless to list all the problems and fixes I went through. I just want to focus on the actual problem I have.
I run iTunes 10.1.1.4 on a Packard Bell Easynote with Windows Vista.
My Apple TV 1st gen. appears in device list on the left of the screen. I can select and synchronize my ATV with my iTunes. I can even use all the functionalities of my ATV when I operate it directly, including streaming music from my iTunes Library. But, I do not see my ATV in the list of the remote speakers on the right nottem side of the screen.
That means, I can not sit in fron of my laptop and stream music from my iTunes to my ATV. I should go, turn on the Telly and go through all the screens to choose the music I want to listen to streamed from my iTunes library.
I am really frustrated and surprised by the lack of attention to the customer service by Apple who is known to put out very reliable products.
I hope someone from the company will read my post and escalate its contests to the management to i,prove the llevel of reliability of such grand public products.
But first of all, I would be very grateful for any help resolving my problem.

Anyway, this morning I received the notification to download the 10.1.2.17 which I did. This resolved my problem.
I am still a bit sceptical that the same symptom my return as it happened the same way in the past.

I installed 10, iTunes no longer connects to airport Remote Speakers

Boy, this is real irritating. I just use iTunes to stream internet radio to my stereo. It was all working fine, then I updated to v10 and nothing works anymore.
BIG PROBLEM...the option to choose computer speakers or remote speakers DISAPPEARED. Well, it was there for a second after I ran iTunes 10 for the first time, then the option DISAPPEARED.
Heck, I even unistalled everything and went back to v9.2.1....But the same problem...ITS GONE!
Now even I can't get iTunes to even connect to my Airport Express at all to even play music on the computer speakers.
Grrrrrr. I was all bloody working till v10 came along!!!
BTW, I'm using Comodo firewall. It was all working before, like I said.

Well I uninstalled Comodo and turned on Windows firewall. I re-installed iTunes.
I went into firewall settings and iTunes was checked off (allowed) for both home & public networks. Didn't work. I saw Bonjour on there and just 'home' was checked off, so I checked off 'public' to see if it mattered.
It did work. iTunes connected to the remote speakers....but for some reason, only for a very short period, then I get a network error.
This is freaking unbelievable. It was all working fine till I stupidly updtated to 10. Grrrrrrrrr

AirPort recognized but no pop-up window for remote speakers in iTunes

I have connected an Airport Express to an existing wireless network of multiple windows (2000 and XP) computers via a Linksys router. The base station is properly recognized (solid green LED, unit correctly identified in admin utility, and I was able to update the firmware to v.6.3 wirelessly) and I have it configured as a wireless client. I want to use it solely to stream music from iTunes to a remote stereo. When I open iTunes, there is no pop-up window offering an option to enable remote speakers. When I installed the airport software, it tried to install iTunes, but the installation aborted because I have a more current version. Is there some software on the disk that needs to be added to iTunes? What is AirTunes? Is this actual software that needs to be installed to stream iTunes to a remote location? Does it refer to the airport firmware? Is it just a "cute" name for the airport hardware (Apple marketing hype)? Thanks for any help.

Rj in WI is correct. I just started using iTunes about a month ago after my wife got an IPod. It took me about an hour of frustration and reading the instruction before I saw in the bottom right of the window "my computer". You click on that and then you can change it to the Airport network. Unfortunately It appears you can only send to only one place. I have two Aiport Expresses and I can only send it to one of the Express devices, or the computer, but not to two or all three places at one time.

Can't connect itunes to my remote speakers thru airport express

After having updated the latest itunes 7.3 my itunes does not recognize anymore my remote speakers and does not connect to them.
Have resetted my airport, to no avail. still, itunes does not recognize it.
please advise what to do as it is very annoying, when you make updates that your old configuration stops working.

I had the same problem. It used to work without any problems but then stopped for no apparent reason. I tried resetting and hard-resetting the Airport Express (AX) many times, but no success. Plus the Airport Utility would never show the Airport Express once I configured it to join the exisiting wireless network (in my case a Airport Extreme).
Anyway finally this worked for me:
1) Hard-resetting the AX
2) Start Airport Utility and find the AX. But instead of going throught the guided steps to set it up, double click on the AX symbol and to set it up manually. Yo will see 5 icons in the meny bar - Airport, Internet, Music, Printers, Advanced.
- Airport --> Base Station: In give it any name and password.
- Airport --> Wireless. Wireless Mode: Join a wireless network. Select it below and the appropripate security settings and password.
- Music --> Enable AirTunes. Leave the rest alone.
3) Click Update. Close the window and wait until the AX restarted. (solid green light)
4) Let the AirPort Utility rescan the network.
5) Restart your wireless base station/router (as I said, in my case Airport Extreme. If you have another base station you may have to do it manually)
6) Start iTunes and presto you will see the remote speakers
7) Let AirPort Utility rescan the network. Presto, you see both the AX and the base station.
My setup: MacBook OS 10.4.10, Airport Extreme and Express, HP with WinXP Pro. Can also stream music form iTunes on the HP.
