Streaming to the web via flash?

I've seen a couple of web services where they stream in real
time from the
event but it plays via flash.. can someone point me to how
this is done???
I've done countless streams to Media Player.. bu twould like
to send to
flash

You can use any version of Flash Communication Server or
Flash Media Server to stream live audio and video to a Flash Player
SWF. If you want to use the Flash Player to capture audio/video
feeds from a webcam (and/or other camera device connected to the
computer), you can only real-time stream with the Sorenson Spark
codec (video) and the Nellymoser speech codec (audio). However,
Adobe released the Flash Media Encoder (FME) which enables you to
real-time stream from a stand-alone application (Windows only) with
the On2 VP6 codec (video). You need a Flash Media Server
application to receive the output streams, which in turn negotiates
streams to connected clients. You can find hosted accounts at
places like Influxis.com for as cheap as $9.95/month, but your
bandwidth will be limited. The more you spend, the more you can
stream. (Lots of folks think you need to buy a full license to
Flash Media Server, which costs around $4000, to stream real-time
audio/video, but most people use hosted services.)

  • Streaming to the web software

    Hello,
I'm new to video and I just started streaming to the web. I wanted to know if there is any software that is designed just for that. I use a camera with a firewire connection to my IMac. I use an M-Audio audio interface for the audio. The audio sounds good, but the video is grainy. I'm trying to get clean video since we stream live to the web. Any help would be appreciated.

Oh, I forgot, I stream using both Livestream and Ustream. I am open to any alternatives that will help. I have QuickTime and Final Cut Express for programs currently.

  • Can I access my photo stream from the web to share it?

I cannot determine whether and how I can share my photo stream with other people through the web. Am I limited in accessing photostream to my own computer, iPhone, and Apple TV???

You can't share Photo Stream via the web, only on your own computer and iOS devices.

  • Sharing Photo Stream On The Web

Creating a Photo Stream to share. One option is to open it to the public on the web. I tried one photo sharing via iCloud on the web.
Where is the public photo on the web? Thanks.

The URL for the public Photo Share is in the Info tray for that PS:
Click on that link which will take you to the PS web page where you can copy the full URL or Command (right) - click  on the link in iPhoto and select "Copy Link in the contextual menu.

  • Connecting to the web via wireless router trouble

    Hi,
I have had a Mac Book Pro, OX 10.8.4 for a couple of months. Until about 10 days ago I had no problem connecting to the web through a wireless router.  Also connect via iPad and iPhone through the same router without any problems, both are fast, much much faster then the mac book which can't seem to fully open a page if it connects at all.
There are 2 things that I think this might be due to.
I had an app update reminder for OX which I installed and about the same time I installed a Java runtime thing. my work from home connection needs it but it didn't work.
Does anyone know if either of these things might be the reason for the problem and if so what I need to do to resolve the issue?

Allow me to add to this...
I'm now on my third mini (Core Duo). To their credit, the folks at the Apple Store (Towson, MD) have been very kind -- they took the second mini back without even testing it and issued me the third.
Here I sit, with the Mini six inches from the Airport base station, and the signal is varying from 1 to 3 bars. My Powerbook, nearby, is getting full signal (as it should).
Just got off the phone with the manager. He's clearly sympathetic, but he has asked me to bring it back in for testing.
I'm about as hardcore an Apple head as they come -- in fact, I had a letter to the editor published last week condemning Baltimore County schools for dropping Macs. I kept an entire art department at a major magazine from switching to PCs several years ago. I've been responsible for sending tens of thousands of dollars to Cupertino over the past decade.
I really hope Apple corporate does the right thing.

  • Photo stream is showing up in iphoto recent but not web and I am not able to join the shared photo stream.  all of my software is updated.  can someone tell me how to get photo stream in the web source list? thanks!

Can someone help me get Photo Stream to appear under Web in the iPhoto Source List? I have updated all my software.  iPhoto 11, Mac OS X 10.7.5  All of my preferences are checked.  I am able to see the shared Photo Stream on my iPad, but not my Mac.  The Mac iPhoto photos from the shared photo stream are appearing in the Photo Stream (under Recent), but I thought they would appear as a shared Photo Stream in its own file/album (like on the iPad and iPhone)  - labeled with the shared Photo Stream's title.  Is this supposed to happen on the Mac?  Thanks!

So you are saying for it to do what i want: shared photo stream to appear in web then i need to upgrade.
    Yes
Does that mean i purchase the new software an it's not just an update?
    Yes
Your profile indicates your running 10.7.5.  For shared Photo Streams you need to be running 10.8.2 or later: The following is from  iCloud: Photo Stream FAQ
What do I need to use Photo Stream?
To use Photo Stream, including Shared Photo Streams, you need an iCloud account, compatible devices, and up-to-date software:  iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch with iOS 6.0 or later Mac with OS X Mountain Lion v10.8.2 or later and iPhoto 9.4 or Aperture 3.4 or later
So you'll need to upgrade to Mt. Lion.
iPhoto requirements are free updates for iPhoto '11

  • Connecting to the web via airport

    Hi all,
This post follows on from the previous regarding internet connection.
I've been reading some posts in the forums and one said that the bluetooth and airport are both part of the same device (hardware) I've been able to link up to my mobile via bluetooth so obviously the device is working.
Unfortunately we still can't get connected to the wireless router via airport. I've connected it up via the ethernet and it works perfectly. I called the Apple tech support and checked the order out as we bought it directly from Apple and they confirmed a card was fitted.
Can anyone offer some more advice on this subject?
    Thanks in advance

  • Using Airport Express to play music while surfing the web via netgear

Can I play music over my airport express (airtunes), while simultaneosly surfing via a different wireless router. As it stands I have been unable to do this, because I have to set my wireless connection to one or the other. When I link up to my NETGEAR for browsing, the remote speakers in itunes become unavailable.
Has anyone found a solution to this?

Hi, thanks for your help. It got me reading, and here's what I figured out:
The problem was when I originally set the profile I had my internet cable plugged into the airport express; So the set up assistant assumed that i would be using that as my internet connection. I just had to re-setup with the airport ONLY plugged into the stereo.
    Again, thanks for your help.

  • Mastering to itunes then the web via iWeb

Hi ... new to this forum and to Logic express AND Apple computers. So far love them all! OK my question/problem. I've been able to record, master and bounce MP3 tracks to itunes from Logic Express. Then transfer the originals songs to iWeb from iTunes and publish on line. My problem/question is possibly file size and transfer TIME. My MP3 transfers are done at the default MP3 level however my web page takes FOREVER (literally hours) to upload using iWEB. I'm "assuming" this is due to the graphics and the size of my music files. This evening it took nearly 2 hours for the transfer to happen ... that's nuts! The very 1st time I transfered tunes to my web site using iWEB the songs went to iTunes from Garage Band rather than logic Express and the transfer happened in less than 5 minutes. Any advice would be much appreciated. BTW my web site is www.rayrlmusic.com if anyone is interested in checking out my tunes.

This really seems to be a question about iWeb rather than Logic Express.
    2 things, though:
    • 1: I hope when you're bouncing from Logic, you are choosing AIFF (or maybe WAV) as your format… or at least that you are keeping AIFF/WAV versions for future use. MP3s are compressed, & you can never regain the quality that is lost when you compress audio. iTunes can do the AIFF > MP3 conversion for you.
    • 2: What is more important than the time it takes to upload is the time it takes to download, IOW, the size of the MP3s on your website. What is a typical size? Compare their size to similar songs from other websites, or in iTunes. If yours are much bigger, you will need to adjust your settings to produce smaller files.

  • I have learned a lot more about battery issues lately. One question of importance: Does playing a streaming mp3 off the web eat more battery, or less, than playing that same mp3 on local storage on the Touch?

What consumes battery juice more, playing an mp3 streaming off the web, or playing it from local storage on the iPod Touch. (Or on iPhones, or on iPads).
I have learned much recently on battery issues, and get better battery life now. This is an important question in that regard, I figure.

That makes sense to me. Though we like to stream many things that we do not own locally, this encourages me to store a lot of m3 material we do own, on our devices. Thanks!

  • Can't access the web but can screen share and secure shell on my network???

    Hi,
I don't know if this is relevant, but I installed a security patch along with a safari patch the other day and the next morning, I could not access the internet, however I can do things like screen share and ssh. I cannot however view internal websites on my network, whether I'm connected via airport or ethernet cable (attached to either time capsule or the modem directly). Whenever I try to go to a website in either firefox or Safari, I get a message saying I'm not connected to the internet and a "Network Diagnostics" button (which says it cannot fix my problem). Here is what I've tried:
    -Repair Disk (everything OK)
    -Repair Permissions
    -Restart computer
-Turn Airport card off then on
-Restart modem and routers, one by one in daisy chain order (and then restarted computer)
    -Tried different browsers
-Tried connecting directly to modem via Ethernet cable in addition to wireless
-Restored the System from a time-capsule backup from Sept. 6th (noticed the problem on the 10th)
    -Turned off my firewall
-Created a new user account and tried it
-Let my computer remain off for a half hour
    -Zapped the p-ram
    Here's what I've confirmed I CAN'T do:
-Access the web via either Safari or firefox (haven't tried any other browsers)
    -Access the Software Update Server
-My iCal calendars cannot access the webdav server
Surprisingly, here's what I've confirmed I CAN do:
-Ping other computers on my network
-Use the Screen Sharing App. with computers on my network
-Access the internet from every other computer on my network (4 of them)
-ssh to other computers on my network
I've been using my computer infrequently lately, and I'm not sure when the last time was I accessed the internet or for that matter when I performed the security patching, but I'm pretty sure it was within the last week and a half. I really don't want to try restoring from an earlier backup, but I'm reaching the end of my rope. Anyone have any other ideas? I'm fresh out.
    Rob

The problem was either the Security Patch 2010-005 or the Safari update (though I don't have the version number in front of me). Note, I had ignored the iTunes 10 update. I assume that I must have miscalculated the date I performed the updates because the problem persisted after restore from a Sept. 6th backup off my time capsule.
I went to the Apple Store and they were able to restore full internet access by performing a 10.5.8 combo-update. When we ran Software Update at the Apple Store, the 3 updates were again there available for download, but I am going to ignore them all because of this issue. The people at the apple store agreed that it was the update which caused the problem.

  • Can video be imported to the Mac via HDMI, or HDMI to Thunderbolt?

I have a Panasonic HD video camera that is great for shooting footage, but we were hoping to hook this up to the Mac so that we could shoot live broadcast footage and use an editor (Wirecast Pro) on the fly while streaming to the web. My problem is, the camera does not have a firewire out port. It only has component, USB and HDMI out ports on it. I tried to connect HDMI from the camera to my MacBook Pro, but iMovie or Wirecast won't see the camera. I'm guessing the HDMI port on my MacBook Pro is output only. My next bet is to convert one of these outputs to the Thunderbolt port on my MacBook Pro. Any ideas?

Ok I am also doing live broadcast on the go i have purchased a mini display port adapter for hdmi, i have tried to connect my cannon t3i with a (mini hdmi) to the regular (hdmi) to the adapter and nothing.... Looking for a solution =(

  • HDV to FCP and onto the web

    Hi there,
I have a Sony Z1 and film in HDV 1080i 50HTZ PAL setting, and edit usig final cut pro 5. I was wondering what the best way of exporting the footage for use on the web is. I have tried so many different methods and programs but it all looks rubbish or appears in 4:3 and not 16:9.
I would prefer to upload it to the web using flash as nearly every computer has this, but does anyone have any tips on the best program to use or way of exporting from FCP?
I have tried using macromedia flash 8 - but I dont understand how the video exporter works! I tried the flix software, but the video player controls are really rubbish. I also tried VX30 - but it kept crashing, and when it worked the video was in 4:3.
All I want is a video that I can put on the web using flash that looks good and has nice controls. It would be a bonus if it had bandwith detection too, so the quality could reflect the users bandwith.
    Any ideas?
    Thanks,
    Tom

What? Didn't you know Apple lives in a bubble? There is only Quicktime and AVI. <vbg> Welcome to the world of "fighting to get files that work on Windows or in Flash".
To export as 16:9 for the web, use QuickTime Conversion and click Options, then set the size to a size you like, such as 480x270 (a 16:9 ratio would be useful for this setting).
    Then export it.
Then use VisualHub or similar to convert it to Flash.
Then open the flash file in Flash, and follow the prompts, selecting the controls skin you want. Then Publish the Flash project with HTML.
Or... switch to Adobe Premiere, and simply export the movie as Flash.

  • Send PDF stream in SOAP web service call to server

    Hi,
I have PDF Application form. We will submit the form by using the submit button in the form. The submit button is calling webservice to talk to the server. It is working. I can send the XML value from the PDF to server via webservice.
But how should I send the PDF stream to the server via webservice(SOAP) call?.
PLease help me to fix this problem.

You'll need to Base64 encode the PDF ReadStream and then submit that as an xsd:base64Binary value in your SOAP request.
Are you using SOAP.connect or SOAP.request to access your webservice?
