Streaming to Xbox 360

Anyone having issues with the media hub streaming to their Xbox 360?  I can see the device and all image folders remotely from the xbox, but when I want to view a picture from a folder, it just sits there saying Picture Loading for a few minutes.

Hmmm, this is quiet something. I need to know more information first.
1.       What’s the resolution of the pictures? Maybe its still indexing the pictures.
2.       Can you view the pictures from the NMH if you’re using your MCE Computer?
3.       Can you view the pictures on XBOX 360 if the pictures are saved on the MCE Computer?
4.       Did you disable the firewalls already?

  • Settings for streaming to XBox 360 over Connect360

Anyone have recommended settings for transcoding/encoding to stream on XBox 360 from Mac via Connect360?

I just did a bunch of encodes, tried all kinds of settings.
I found that both MP4 and ipod/iphone 640x480 worked well.
I haven't tried any HD settings yet, but that will come.
It was pretty cool. I took my son's football game on DV, dumped it into FCP, encoded it to a QT Movie, and played it down in the basement on the big screen. (Coaches Film Session)
The only thing that didn't work as well as I would like is that the chapters that I set up weren't as accurate as I would like (I set a chapter marker at the beginning of each play. If I remember correctly, i may need to force an i frame with each chapter marker.)
Connect 360 Rocks imho. It was very frustrating for video until this last xbox software upgrade, but now it will play both mp4 and h.264.
If you run into any trouble, just export a short clip from FCP, then use compressor and try all kinds of settings. Then see which one works for your desired quality.
Like I said, apple devices, ipod/iphone 640x480 worked great. Looked awesome on a 1080p projector at 120" diag!

  • Streaming on Xbox 360 trough time Capsule

Anyone has tried to share the pictures and videos stored on the time capsule ?
I know the streaming on xbox360 doesn't work with all the shared storage HD

This is not possible. I would suggest you check out a program called "Connect360" that allows your iTunes music library and iPhoto library to be streamed on your 360.

  • No Longer Able to stream content to Xbox 360

I have just installed Lion and can no longer stream media to my Xbox 360 using Rivet. I had no problems streaming them before, and am still able to stream the media on my 2TB NAS drive but it says the format is not supported on my Xbox when I try to play media on my MBP (with Lion). All of the files are regular .avi files, and play fine on my machine. Anybody else having issues streaming to xbox 360 since upgrading to Lion?
    Thanks

It happened the same to me using Rivet and streaming (from my iMac) to my TV directly (has Wifi).
In Rivet webpage says that Rivet is no longer supported by them (so I supose that there is no update for Lion). Nevertheless, I have tried with other media servers (like Serviio or Majestic) and doesn't work either...
Anybody know if there is going to be a patch or a solution?
Thanks a lot, greeting from Spain :-)

  • Replacing Apple TV with Xbox 360, Video Questions

I have had an ATV for a little over a year and thanks to Handbrake I now have an incredible Movie Library over 600 flicks ripped for ATV with the .m4v extension. This month I am getting an Xbox 360 and would like to use it in place of my ATV and move the ATV to another room. I have been doing my research and everything says I should use Connect 360 or Rivet to make contact between my iMac and Xbox 360. Though I have read that movies with the extension .m4v will not read. I have read on various sites that I could just change the extension to .mp4 or .avi and it will work fine. Though alot of the data out there on connect 360 and Xbox 360 streaming seems to be outdated and I can't tell what has been fixed by updates. so... my questions are,
    1. Will my movies stream to xbox 360 via connect 360 in the .m4v format?
2.If no, can I just change the extension to .mp4 or .AVI? (I changed the extension from .MP4 to .m4v on some movies when I got the ATV due to some recognition issues in itunes last year and had no problem)
    3. If I change the extensions will my ATV still be able to play these videos from elsewhere in the house?
    4. Will it all just work flawlessly with no problems thanks to amazing updates from all parties?

I wanted a next gen game system. Part of the way I could convince my wife to let me get an xbox (Im whipped) was to offer to move the ATV to the bedroom so she could view our media in there. Since the Xbox has media center qualities I figured I would take atvantage of them. Now I trying to figure out the best way to get both working.

  • Time Capsule and Xbox 360

Just got a Time Capsule 2tb, need to hook to my linksys router wrt54gs and be able to stream to Xbox 360 using Connect360 software installed in the system preferences on a mac running Mac OS Server 10.4.11. Help How do i get this done? right now the TC light is just blinking amber.

Hello ShelbyWeiss. Welcome to the Apple Discussions!
How do you have the Time Capsule (TC) configured in your current network? That is, do you have it physically connected to the Linksys router or completely separate? Is the TC configured to join the Linksys' wireless network or to create its own? Is the Linksys the main router connected to the Internet modem or is the TC performing this roll?

  • Xbox 360 and nas storage for streaming media

    Hi there,
I have an xbox 360 and watch movies on it through my network that are stored on my home PC, this means that I have to have my home PC on whenever I want to watch a movie. What I would like to do is have a NAS storage device that I can store all my movies on that is on the same notwork so that I can then watch the movies on my xbox without the need for the PC being on. Obviously I would want the NAS to be seen by the computer's I have on my network also.
I way thinking about getting this item Western Digital - My Book Live 1TB External Home Network Drive - Black but am not sure if the xbox will see it? or is there a better solution for around the same price which is expandable?
    Thanks.

You'd have to get a real home or business NAS product to stream to the 360 and those are not in the same price range as the product you are looking at.

  • AirPort Express as a Wireless Adapter For Xbox 360 and to stream PC audio?

Ok, so I am wondering if I can do this config with an AirPort express. I want to connect the AirPort to my existing WiFi, and be able to plug in an Ethernet cable connected to an Xbox 360 to get Xbox Live, as well as stream audio from my PC. Is this possible to do at once? Also, is it possible to stream PC audio, not just iTunes music? Thanks for your time.

    Hello podalex,
Just an FYI for you with regard to the Airport Express:
It is always best to check with the software manufacturer FIRST. They will tell you if they have tested the product and the version, as well as whether or not it will work with Windows 7.
Check out the Windows 7 Compatibility site: (There you will find out about hardware and software compatibility.)
    http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/en-us/default.aspx
There is a pulldown from which you can choose "hardware" and "software".
There are also some great articles, instructional videos and such to help with your Windows 7 at our Springboard site:
    http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/default.aspx
In any event a lot of the times, Vista drivers will work in lieu of Windows 7 drivers, however, it's not 100%!
As stated previously, it's best to have the Windows 7 certified drivers installed.
Microsoft does have an official Windows 7 Support Forum located here http://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/category/w7itpro/ . It is supported by product specialists as well as engineers and support teams. You may want to check the threads available there for additional assitance and support.

preferably with programmes that are free or at least very cheap if i need other programmes to do this, I'm still paying off the macbook! lol

I have been using Connect 360 from Nullriver. It works very well and is well worth the $20.

  • Can the Airport Express stream audio through my Xbox 360?

I am not asking if my Xbox 360 can CONNECT to my Airport Express. That I have already done.
What I am asking is that my Xbox 360 does not have audio (audio cables seem to not work) and I wonder if I can stream the audio through my speakers wirelessly from my Airport Express. Or does it have to be a IOS device to be able to airplay?

What I am asking is that my Xbox 360 does not have audio (audio cables seem to not work) and I wonder if I can stream the audio through my speakers wirelessly from my Airport Express.
Sorry, but no. The Xbox 360 is not an AirPlay "server" so it cannot stream to an AirPlay "speaker." In this case the speaker is the AirPort Express.

  • WRT160NL not allowing Xbox 360 to stream files from PC

I have just purchased a WRT160NL and have hooked it up and it will allow me to access the internet fine on my PC and also allow me to connect to xbox live fine on my xbox 360. When I try to stream media files from my PC from Zune though it will no longer work like it did with my previous version of Linksys router (BEFW11S4). I have followed several troubleshooting steps including trying to open several ports on my firewall but have had no success. When I try to connect to my PC with my xbox 360 I can see that it is communicating with the router fine but it is not allowing the xbox to in turn communicate with the computer. Anyone have any ideas on to what might be causing this issue?

Follow this link and change the settings on your Computer as well as on your XBOX360. Once you are done with the settings you should be able to play media files from your XBOX

  • WRT54G, Windows 7 Home Premium & XBox 360: anyone able to stream media?

I had no problem previously on XP streaming media from my PC to an XBox  360. However, with Windows 7, i find that even though the network map on PC shows the XBox 360, the PC only occasionally shows up as accessible on my XBox 360 - and as soon as I try to browse to media, I lose the connection.
Has anyone else had luck with te above combination?
    Thanks,
    P.

Honestly, I've gone through every possible troubleshooting guide in the last 6 months. The symptoms are entirely random; sometimes I can connect to the PC, sometimes I can't, sometimes the XBox cannot see the PC at all.
I have a feeling that the WRT54g (7.2.0.1) is simply not compatiblw with XBox 360 and with Windows 7 Home Premium, and I've been unable to find anyone else who actually uses this combination.
If anyone else is using this combination, please let me know.

  • Problem streaming from Windows Media Center to XBOX 360 with Airports?

    Good evening,
I have been having an issue trying to stream windows media center from my windows 7 ultimate (64 bit if that helps) to my Xbox 360. My network setup is:
I have an airport extreme (G) that is plugged into my cable modem and my windows 7 machine. In my living room I have an airport express that extends my wireless signal through out the house but my xbox 360 is plugged into it via ethernet. I have a very fast internet connection that is stable but any transfer between my computer and xbox is very limited it seems. I was wonder if there is a way to get this to work better. When I lunch windows media center on the xbox it sees my pc and it shows the available files but when I try and move from one to the other nothing happens and eventually I get a can't connect error. Would I be better off not connecting via ethernet to the airport express and just buying a wireless adapter?
    Thanks

You don't say how your devices are connected, whether through your Verizon router or some other way.  If through, say, an Actiontec then you may be having bottleneck issues.  I used to run all my devices through my Actiontec and got poor transfer speeds (it only handles 10/100).  Moving everything on my network to a 10/100/1000 switch helped my transfer speeds to shoot right up ten fold.  This way only the switch gets connected to my Actiontec and my network devices can still get out on the 'net if needed.
It's ok to try to reinvent the wheel, but just make sure it's round.

  • Stream ipod to xbox 360?

my ipod doesnt work on any xbox 360s. i was wondering if there was a program that can share/stream my ipod music from itunes to my 360. i found a program called connect360 but it only browses my itunes library, not my ipod. all my music is on my ipod to save harddrive space. thanks

    Hi viceng,
I've been using connect360 (paid the $20) and it's a fantastic program, it was designed to be a streaming plug-in to your media library. I've yet to find a similar program that allows you to access the mounted iPod and stream it out across the network.
With that being said, the iPod was not designed to be the only location for your music. My understanding is that Apple always envisioned the iPod to be a way to take the media on your computer with you, not have it as the primary storage location.
