Streaming video freezes

I often watch a streaming news source through its app. On ipad 1 it worked fine. On ipad 2 it freezes after 15 seconds. Any ideas for a fix"?

I have no issues with streaming at all-perhaps it's your network.
Apple is not here, so trying to address questions to Apple will not work.

Netflix streaming video freezes but audio is ok...

When I'm watching Netflix streaming videos, Firefox video freezes. Audio is fine and I can continue hearing the video. Firefox is the only browser that does this. IE9 and Google Chrome plays without the video freezing. I love Firefox and would like to continue using it. I get tired of having to change browsers just to be able to watch streaming video. Streaming videos freezing....

Greetings all:
I have all the up to date software, SL and ITUNES, and lately, all of my streaming videos to my wirelessly connected ATV have been freezing. I have looked on the site, and found istumbler to use as a tool; when I opened it to check the channels, I found all of my wireless devices to be under 'bonjour' (two expresses, printers and ATV as well as other computers.
I guess that I still really don't understand what bonjour is. Can someone explain it to me and suggest how I might change my setup to allow uninterrupted streaming again? I have yet to restore factory settings on the ATV but plan on doing that soon...

Streaming videos freeze up although buffered.

I have a Lenovo Y50-70 with the following specs:
i7 4710 HQ CPU
256 GB SSD
GB RAM
Intel HD Graphics 4600 and an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M(4GB)
I have Windows 8.1 (64Bit) installed
I experience problems with streamed video content.
Especially with flash videos streamed in HD. (It seems also with HTML5 content when falsh player is installed).
The videos freeze up for a few seconds eventhough the video has already buffered.
I figured that streamed via vfl player the videos run smoothly.
I had this problem with 4! different Laptops now all with the same specs (same model)
This occures in different networks not only my homenetwork.
I updated all my drivers and tried Firefox IE aswell as Chrome.
Every time the same result.
Update: I bought a newer model now, the older one had only 8 GB Ram and a Geforce 860M (2GB)

I just saw your post and changed my resolution to 1366 X 768, and it solved my problem replaying photo-audio slideshows. But now the bottom of the screen is cut off. I'd prefer 1366 x 768. Do you have any idea why the screen resolution makes a difference? I'm just trying to playback photo-audio slideshows. Seriously bumming me out that this is happening on my new MacAir 11".

I can not watch a streaming video uninterruptedly. It freezes down very frequently for 10-20 seconds and then again starts working.

Try to disable hardware acceleration in Firefox.
*Tools > Options > Advanced > General > Browsing: "Use hardware acceleration when available"

You can check for problems with current Flash plugin versions and try these:
*disable a possible RealPlayer Browser Record Plugin extension for Firefox and update the RealPlayer if installed
*disable protected mode in the Flash plugin (Flash 11.3+ on Windows Vista and later)
*disable hardware acceleration in the Flash plugin

Streaming video freeze

Hello everybody,
I have very annoying problem.
After upgrade to ios7 both, ipone 5 and ipad 3 and ATV3 to latest os version the video that I stream from safari to Apple TV is freeze all the time.
I also have iPhone 4S with ios6 on it where the same streaming works well.
Will appreciate your help.

Please post your router configs.
It might be something simple like enabling Cisco Express Frowarding (CEF) or other parameter; posting the config makes it much easier to figure out.

Stream videos FREEZING

I read some posts here with the same problem. But my connection is all wired, so this can't be a bandwidth issue. And it seems that is a recent issue for everyone.
I thought this was a problem because of the videos are located in a external drive USB connected to my iMac.
In the past I've seen this long videos with no freezes, at all.
I do not update apple tv for a while, do not have this last upgrades The last posts here are talking about an upgrade which are causing more serious issues.

Pedro, there are always reports of problems after upgrades, don't be too concerned by them, this is a forum for people with problems and that needs to be put into perspective. I would update all your software (itunes/tv) and see how things stand after dong that.

Why does streaming video freeze and Internet not allow me to search Web when I airplay content from my MacBook Pro?

I just bought Apple TV and my internet connection seems to cut out. I can't browse the internet once this happens? Once I unplug Apple TV and refresh router I get it back. What can I do to resolve this problem?

It seems your iPhone is slowing down and not responding frequently. To rectify this issue you may want to consider performing a restore on the device, and then restoring your data from a backup via iCloud or iTunes.
If the issue persists after restoring your backup, you would then want to consider restoring the device and setting it up as new. Below I have linked to article which offers guidance on both of these restore methods:

Videos freezing when streaming from router

When i stream higher resolution videos to my TV or PC, from the usb stick attached to my router(linksys EA4500). The videos freeze, then playes again, then freeze, etc. I have no problem with lower res. videos or music. Could there be a firmware update to solve this problem, or is it a hardware issue?

I see. It is better to connect your TV to the 5 ghz network if the TV can see it. 5 ghz is designed for video streaming. Since your accesing or viewing high resolution vidoes from the Virtual USB, the TV should be connected to that network. What firmware are you using? Are you using the Classic Firmware or the Cloud Firmware?

FMLE streaming @ HD, video freezing but audio still works. ??

We are trying to some HD streaming using FMLE 3 and a Osprey 700HDe card.
We can get the HD input in @ 720p no worries.
Once the stream is pushed up to our CMD and embedded in the webisite we can view the video.
Thats all ok.
It plays fine for a while and then the video freezes but the audio continues to play. It clears up after a while but its a pretty constant problem every minute or so.
We tried some suggested methods like turning of hardware acceleration in the flash player.
And even pushed the buffer out to 1 minute.
No luck.
Its more noticeable at bitrates above 2000kbps.
We would also like to push the res and bit rate higher to deal with full 1080p.
But we would lik it to handle this lower quality first.
The processor is not running under too much stress. Around 35% and our internet is more than sufficient. 60mps down 5mps up.
Any ideas??

I think problem is in your network conditions. Please check the RTMP buffer at FMLE. Is it increasing. You can check this from Statistics Panel at Publishing tab.
This could be due to network latency at between your client and FMS side. Please check it using Ping command. If this latency is beyond certain level then also you can also see RTMP buffer increasing and Video stalling at subsciber side

Flash Player streaming video keeps freezing while audio continues

Hi,
I have been having a problem with flash player for a couple of months now. When watching streaming video's the video will freeze for a second every 5-10 seconds constantly, but the audio continues uninterrupted. I have tried everything, enabling/disabling hardware acceleration; reinstalling flash player 11; trying flash player 10; updating the graphics drivers. I have also tried it on 5 different browsers: IE, Firefox, Chrome, Seamonkey (mozilla browser), and Opera. The same problem occurs on all of them. Yesterday I thought I had cracked it when I realised I had several versions of java installed and once I deleted all the old versions flash player worked fine. However, today the problem has started all over again, and for some reason flash player had deleted itself when I turned the computer on this evening.
I have checked my internet connection speed online and am running an average speed of 5Mbps. I have 2.5 GB's of RAM, and a 2.2 GHz AMD Athlon 64 3500+ processor. I am using Windows XP. I have never had any problems with flash player on this pc (which I've had for 6 years), and as far as I can tell this problem started occurring a couple of weeks before flash player 11 was released.
I'd be very grateful for any help anyone can give resolving this problem.

If the player is Silverlight, you'd be able to see that by right clicking the video.
Can you go to Youtube, play any video and then right click it and choose "Take Speed Test". That will take you to a graph where you can see what your download speed is in relation to your ISP, your location and other data. If the black bar is way down compared with others, then I would suspect that something, or somebody else is using your bandwidth. Do you have wireless? If so, change the security code. It may be being used as a wireless hotspot by your neighbours.
You can also play the test video which will show data usage in real time.

Macbook pro - freezes when streaming video

my macbook pro ( mid 2009) - 8 GB RAM and maverick OS - freezes whenever i stream video in it .. it doesnot happen immediately but after 15-30 min
i need to hardboot it afte that .. then comes the funny part .. when i reboot usually i get the dreaded "flashing" question mark
so i need to do this to get back on track
1. reboot by pressing the "option" key and select the disk to boot from
2. then reboot again by pressing "command" + "option" + P + R - ( reset PRAM )
now voila back in business
this happened 2-3 times in the last 1 week
please dont tell me i need to change the logic board :-)
unless otherwise i stream video, i dont have any issues
( infact only 2 weeks back genius bar ran a hardware test when i took for RAM upgrade and found everything is ok )

The startup disk may need repairing ...
Launch Disk Utility located in HD > Applications > Utillities
Select the startup disk on the left then select the First Aid tab.
Click: Verify Disk (not Verify Disk Permissions)
If DU reports errors, restart your Mac while holding down the Command + R keys. From there you should be able to acces the built in utilities in OS X Recovery to repair the startup disk.

Satellite A660-07U freezes when Streaming video

I bought a Toshiba satellite A660 07U 2 months ago.
From the beginning, when I try to watch any streaming video from Facebook,Youtube etc, my system totally hangs and keeps on making zzzzz....noise and I have to manually shutdown the notebook by pressing the power button.
This is happening very often now. I contacted toshiba support and the response was to change my microphone boost settings in Volume configure..:smileysurprised:.

Today this also happened while I was watching a movie on DVD.
The graphics card is NVIDIA and I have updated the driver for it.
Once it freezes I can't check the background processes as the whole system ceases to respond.
I don't think its a problem with the player as streaming video is sometimes played with WM, sometimes with Real player.
Toshiba claims this laptop is a special edition as a media entertainment tool with blue ray dvd player.
I am a software engineer and i do run heavy softwares like Visual studio and sql server database on this pc but never had any problem, but only have this freezing problem while playing video.

Freezes or skips streaming or non streaming video

I have a powerbook g4 12" 867 ppc 800 somethin ram 3/4 gb and whenever I try to play videos anywhere online it freezes the whole mac, or just simply skips as if its a very slow fps. I have never tried this before on this mac but I wanted to browse a bit of video and it started to occur. There are little to no programs running in the background, ive reset the nvram and all setting to default in openb firmware.
Its a general question really, does this powerbook have hardware capability to play a streaming video? If so, why isn't mine? Do I need an update(checked don't need one) do I really need to upgrade hardware on a machine that was $1799 6 years ago! Maybe I can have this answered for the world once and for all, is there a control panel for graphic settings? If not why isn't there one?
Apple support don't leave this answer unresolved for 5 years like I've seen here before for these simple video questions.
Last question, why does my powerbook suck at everything so much? I at least want to play some video, that's all this hunk of tin is good for.
I new I shouldve bought a pc... They really are SOOOOO much better and cheaper than macs.

I think if you had bought a cheaper PC 6 years ago you still would have the same problem. The problem is that the machine is over half a decade old! That's an eternity in computer time.
Today's video codecs are designed for a dual-core CPU running well over 1GHz. The G4 only has one core running at less that, so it has significantly less power.
If you think a PC would have been better, think about this. My PowerBook G4, same age but a little faster (1.25GHz), can run the latest Mac operating system: 10.5 Leopard. If you bought a PC laptop 6 years ago, any PC laptop, could it run today's Windows operating system, Vista? Probably not! When Vista came out, PC users were angry because relatively new PCs would need to be upgraded to run Vista well. But I can install the latest Mac OS X on my 6-year-old laptop and it runs great. I think I got the better deal by buying a Mac.
