Streaming Video From My Macbook to my Xbox 360

I'm REALLY hoping someone can help.
I was a windows XP user, and got my first mac a few months ago, I could not be happier....
except I used to stream all my audio and video from my old laptop through my Xbox 360 to watch on my TV, and now I seem to have lost the ability to do this, can anybody help?
preferably with programmes that are free or at least very cheap if i need other programmes to do this, I'm still paying off the macbook! lol
thanks in advance for your help

I have been using Connect 360 from Nullriver. It works very well and is well worth the $20.

If the content is in iTunes, look in the lower right corner and select the Apple TV.

My MBA fans start running when I play video too - the CPU's video processor is working pretty hard to decode the video. The fans job is to provide better airflow.  The time to worry is when you play video and the fans don't run.

  • How do I stream video from my macbook pro onto my tv? Will an HDMI cable work?

I'm trying to get hulu to play on my television but I'm confused about what I need to hook my macbook pro up to my television. My television has a spot for an HDMI cable but I don't know what the macbook requires to make this happen. Googling it just confused me more. I'm looking for the simplest way to make it happen. Thank you!

  • Streaming videos from iPhone 4s via AirPlay is very slow

. I took a few videos with my iPhone 4S when I was on vacation. When I try to stream them from my iPhone to my Apple TV, it buffers extremely slowly. However, when I stream videos from my MacBook Pro to my Apple TV, it buffers very quickly and plays very quickly. Based on that, I'm assuming that there's nothing wrong with my wireless network. So my question is, what could be wrong with my iPhone. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ok so I've been doing more testing. It's all videos on the iTunes store. Anytime I try to download a podcast or stream it or anything it's super slow. To download an episode of Diggnation it tells me over 2 hours to download but the time keeps climbing and I just stop the transfer.
Some people said it's an Open DNS thing? Maybe it is but it's not computer specific and I couldn't find a way to change the DNS settings in my Airport, only on each computer. I tried deleting PLists and restoring my Apple TV and restoring my Airport and nothing is working.
I don't know if it an issue with me, my ISP or Apple. Anyone else experiencing this problem?

  • How can i stream video from Safari my MacBook Air to Apple TV.

I've been tryingt o stream videos from my Mac Book Air to Apple TV that is connected to my projector but dont seem to see any options in safari to stream to Apple TV.  Have anyone tried this?  Is this possible?  My IPad can do it but dont understand why Mac Book cant.  Please assist!

I Figured it out!  I put the Display chooser into the toolbar on the MacBook Air and there is a little selection that allows Mirroring.  I switched it on, got video, sound, and a happy man on my hands.  AND I found the correct answer myself, heh, heh, heh.

  • Streaming video from Macbook Pro to 46 inch LCD

I am trying to stream video from my 13 inch Macbook Pro to my 46 inch Samsung LCD TV. I am using a HDMI cable to a DVI cable to attach the computer. When I play videos from iTunes, the picture looks great, however when I am streaming video from an internet site such as Netflix, the picture is not great (it almost looks pixilated). I am wondering, is this an issue with my computer (video card, etc) or does it have to do with my internet connection (I currently have the lower DSL connection)? Is there any other way to make the picture look better? Thanks for your help.

  • Streaming youtube video from my macbook to Apple TV?

    Hello ...
Can I stream youtube video from my macbook pro (OS X 10.9.2)  to Apple TV? with same HD quality, similar to iPad and iPhone.
The built-in AirPlay feature is not satisfactory and gives poor video quality.
There might be some kind of plugins for Safari or Firefox than allow to switch to Apple TV, but I couldn't find any.
    Please help.
    Thanks.

    Thanks Rudegar ...
Yes! my hardware support AirPlay Mirroring but it doiesn't stream HD quality with no lagging
I just want something exactly similar to what happens in an ipad/iphone, just one click and the stream would be diverted from my macbook to the apple TV directly from the my internet modem
    Is there such way !!??

  • Streaming video from an iPad mini to a MacBook Pro using Airplay

How do I stream video from my iPad to my MacBook Pro?  I want to watch the video content of my iPad mini on my MacBook Pro.  I have a mac-based application called "Reflector." and it says an iPad can stream video using Airplay, but I have no idea how to start Airplay (or cause it to stream video to the MBP).
    Thanks,
    Tom

I can't seem to edit my old message so I will add as a reply.  I think my question may not be very clear.  Here is an image of my iPhone screen (running 7.1.2 and I'm sorry it's so big):  (Continue reading below the big image.)
But as you see there is no Airplay button beside the AirDrop button on the control panel.  I see this same control panel on all my iDevices (or at least there is no Airplay icon on any of them).  How do I get this icon to appear.  By the way, I am using a Cisco wireless router - not an airport router (could that be the problem?)

  • Can not stream full hd videos from iPhoto macbook library

    Hello,
for some reason I can not stream full hd videos from my macbook iphoto libary to apple tv3! It streams 720p videos but full hd videos taken by my camcorder are unable to watch on my apple tv, if I want to stream it directly from iphoto on my macbook.
Any ideas what the problem could be?
Thank you and greetz from the Black Forrest / Germany

Hi. My camera is a Canon 600D. And yes my videos are stored in the Aperture library and they are not referenced. Even then I tried to select all the videos in Aperture and clicked 'consolidate masters' and there was a messge that said all 'none of the files are referenced',... so they didn't need consolidating.
I also tried preferences> export> external video editor > choose > iMovie. And then right click on the video to edit with imovie. Even then the video didn't show up in iMovie. It seems like the only option for me is to import the videos directly to iMovie which means there will be two versions of the same file stored in my computer eating up space.
    APPLE. What are you doing?

  • Hello. I've Apple TV 3rd gen and MacBook Pro 2013 all with latest updates. AirPlay works fine till I don't start streaming videos from YouTube. After that AirPlay icon from MacBook menu bar simply disappears. Could some help. I'm using 2 Mbps Internet

Hello. I've Apple TV 3rd gen and MacBook Pro 2013 all with latest updates. AirPlay works fine till I don't start streaming videos from YouTube. After that AirPlay icon from MacBook menu bar simply disappears. Could some help. I'm using 2 Mbps internet connection.

Same issue here- I can airplay my amazon prime library just fine from my iphone 5 but on my macbook- (mavericks, 15 inch 2013 retina with quad core i7, nvidia 650 M and SSD) it just sputters and lags.
I have noticed web video is considerably worse than local content, giving me pauses of up to 2 or 3 seconds in which video stops but audio continues in the amazon player. Youku video, however, seems relatively stable. Our subscription speed is 25 mbps, so that should be plenty to stream SD video from Amazon and doesn't account for why it would be nice and stable from the iphone, but not the mbp.
Playing light, locally hosted steam sidescrollers  like Limbo is better but gives periodic drops in framerate on the Tv. when mirroring the framerate remains steady on the MBP screen.
Games airplayed from my iphone seem relatively stable, though with a noticably lower framerate on the TV than on the phone.
It seems these issues have abated considerably since yesterday's Apple TV update, but are still curious nonetheless and I'm not sure that the update yesterday was specifically meant to address those issues or if I'm just getting a time with less network interference now.
Comcast recently installed a new router/modem/phone combo, replacing our old separate modem and router setup. I'm going to test if putting the network on a different channel helps.

  • Streaming video from macbook pro to apple tv

Hello, I understand that you can use airdisplay to stream the whole desktop view to the apple tv. However, I've found that its extremely laggy when I play videos that way. When I do, the video and sound is always off by a second. When I stream using my ipad or iphone to play videos that never happens and runs perfectly. Is there a way to just stream videos from sites like youtube for the mac like the iphone and ipad?

  • Stream audio & video from my MacBook Pro to my HDTV

What components do I need to stream video from my Mac Book Pro to HD TV.  I have wireless access throughout my home.

One common way is to use a DNLA server and client. Some TVs are internet-capable and have the ability to receive media streamed on a local network. If not, you will need a device attached to your TV which acts as the DNLA client - such as a PlayStation 3 or Boxee.
You still need server software running on your Mac, though - look into Twonkyserver and TVMobili. Some network drives will also act as a DNLA server, so you can store your media there and not have to keep your Mac open and running.

  • Is there a way I can stream video from my 2012 AirMac to the Apple TV using airplay and at the same time stream the audio to an air speaker?

Is there a way stream video from a 2012 MacBook Air to a TV using Apple TV and at the same time steam the audio to an air speaker. Also the same question but using an ipad

You can try one thing. Follow these steps:
    1. On your Mac, turn on AirPlay Mirroring and connect it to the Apple TV, so audio and video will stream from the Apple TV.
    2. Turn off the sound of the TV where you have connected the Apple TV.
    3. Then, make sure that you have turned on the AirPlay speakers. Then, open System Preferences > Sound > Output, and choose the external speakers, so sound will stream from these external speakers.
    This should work correctly
