in Adobe Connect.
THE PROBLEM
============
If you currently use Presenter then you already know that it
has some serious limitations when it comes to using video. Slide
based video must be in SWF format encoded using the old Sorenson
codec. That means your video files must completely load before they
start playing. This leads to long wait times for users; want to
play a 5 minute video? Expect a 2-3 wait time while the movie
loads. Forget longer content like training videos.
The video's dimensions are also limited as quality degrades
quickly at large sizes.
Adobe will tell you to put streaming flash video in the
presenter panel but this area is tiny and still uses the old codec.
You cannot pause, rewind and fast-forward the content and what
about if your show runs without the presenter panel showing?
If you update your presentation frequently, expect long wait
times as the video files are embedded and must be uploaded to the
server each time you make a change.
THE SOLUTION
=============
RefinedVideo is a complete solution to these issues as it
allows you to play high-quality video in fullscreen resolution with
no waiting. Use streaming FLV format using On2 VP6 compression to
provide higher quality at lower bandwidth with almost no wait times
in most cases.

Ahh, if only that were entirely true!
While you're correct that you can embed flash in your
Presenter files, it's still not possible to use the latest On2 VP6
codecs which is what you need to do if you want high quality large
size video files. Using the Sorenson codec which is what would be
required by your suggestion, means that the video tends to be quite
pixillated and limited to a small frame size, otherwise you end up
with lots of buffering delays.
Our solution allows you to run fullscreen video of unlimited
length from within Presenter and it works in self-paced
presentations and meeting room environments too.
On the issue of posting information about a product on a
Forum, my understanding of the concept of a forum is that it's a
place for the exchange of ideas and solutions. This forum is
located under the menu item of "Communities" on the Adobe site and
many people come here looking for ways to solve problems and
exchange ideas.
I've had numerous people contact me saying they have been
looking for exactly this type of solution but have been unable to
find it. It's only spam to you because you have no need for the
solution but to those looking for a way to deliver specific types
of training content, it's exactly what they came to the Forum to
find.
It's not my intent to offend, only to raise awareness.
Thanks for listening,
Terry

  • Unable to stream Videos from Mac and IPad 3 to TV

My Apple TV (1.Generation) is starting to work bad after an update.
I am no longer able to stream videos from IMac nor IPad 3 or IPhone 4.
Can anybody give me a help.
    Thanks.

Not sure if I'm missing something here. AirPlay is the newer audio video streaming technology Apple implemented into their devices. Airplay video from a computer requires a newer Mac running Mountian Lion and a 2G or higher ATV. Streaming video from iTunes to a 1G ATV still works, it is similar to AirPlay but is technically not the same thing.
Streaming video from an iPad or iPhone to an Apple TV is using AirPlay and also requires using a 2 or 3G ATV. These are hardware limitations no HDMI cable can fix.
If you can not stream video from iTunes by selecting it on your Apple TV you have a problem. If you are trying to send video to the ATV by selecting it on a device you need a new ATV and/or computer.

  • Streaming videos from hulu and the like

Two days ago my mac just wouldn't stream videos anymore.  I'm not sure if it is me or the internet.  I have had them check the connection and they can't find anything wrong.  I have updated everything (flash, etc) to be sure that isn't the issue.  Anyone have any thoughts on what could be happening?  I don't have cable, so my computer and I need to reach a conclusion to this issue.

Sorry, should have added that my movies and tv shows are on an external hard drive connected to my mac mini.  They are not in iTunes and I can stream them to my iPad using air video but need to now if I can get them on my TV using Apple TV.........or do i need to put them in iTunes first ?

If you have done a forum search you would have seen that this issue has been discussed at length. Apple devices were chosen to be FIRST because they have the largest market share. Android is on its way, and will appear and be available when it's ready. Yes, everybody at Adobe is aware that android users are waiting breathlessly for this new technology. No, they won't give any estimated date as to when it will be available. They don't do that.

  • I can't hear the audio in streaming videos. Un- and reinstalling Flash did not help. What now?

I no longer hear the audio when I try to watch videos in Firefox, though MP3s play just fine. Everything is OK when I switch to Internet Explorer, so the problem appears to be with the browser and not with the Flash plug-in or the websites in question. Just to be sure, I uninstalled and reinstalled Flash, but there was no improvement.

Try using a photo import utility or application for this instead of doing it the archaic manual way. Even Windoze includes a scanner and camera wizard that can be used for this.

  • Why do streaming videos play slow and choppy

    Hi,
This problem may not be connected to Flash Player but can be related to device driver performance, internet bandwidth issue also.
Since you haven't mentioned your OS and browser, I am proving you two generic links that contains solutions to all types of Flash Player issues that you can try:

  • Having trouble with sound when streaming videos on Netflix and Hulu

When I watch videos on Hulu or Netflix my audio is very bad (as well as my video). It stops and starts and has a horrible robotic background sound, like a speaker is blown (though I know that's not the case because the sound is the same through my TV when connected via HDMI cord). My audio and video files are all up to date... What can I do??

    Thank you for your response.
To try and rule out hardware as the issue here is a link to Testing for Hardware Failures (Windows 7)
Have you checked for viruses and malware? Malicious Software Removal Tool
You can try this step to try and find and repair corrupt files.
Go to the command prompt and right click and run as administrator
Type sfc /scannow and press enter.
You mentioned that it is generating a lot of heat so here is a link to Reducing heat inside the PC to prevent overheating
If the issue remains, you can try installing the original driver using the recovery manager
Using Recovery Manager to Restore Software and Drivers (Windows 7)
The next suggestion would be to do a full recovery back to factory.

  • Trying to stream videos just spool and never play

    Hi,
Like most people, my Apple TV (2) used to work fine and then after the latest updates (and an apparent lack of software testing by Apple before they release it nowadays) it has become next to useless.
My Home Sharing is all turned on, firewalls off, etc (I'm not an amatuer) and I can see my music, movies, TV programmes and everything else BUT if I try to watch or listen to anything I just get the rotating asterix in the middle of the screen and it never plays.
Anyone - please help or it's going to have to go back.

The problem here is that real Audiobooks (such as those you download from iTunes or Audible) are specially formatted to support audiobook features like chapters, resuming playback at the correct place, etc. When you rip a CD, iTunes can't tell if it is an audiobook or music and defaults to treating it as music.
The solution for Mac users is an application called AudioBook Builder (http://www.splasm.com/audiobookbuilder/). It's a little $10 app that correctly organizes and tags audiobooks and converts audiobook CDs into "real" audiobooks for iPod. Highly recommended, this thing is worth it after one book.
There is probably a similar solution for Windows, but I don't use that, sorry.

  • AirPlay to stream videos from websites

I have an iPhone 4 that I just recently upgrade the iOS to 4.3 and I also have atv2 that it upgraded as well. I'm trying to stream some videos from a website and it only let's me stream the audio but ther is no picture on the tv. I thought with the new update of the iOS 4.3. Apple said that it was able to stream videos from websites and third party apps. Does any one know how this suppose to work?

The website must be AirPlay compatible to get both video and sound. YouTube should be. The same applies to 3rd party apps. A 3rd party app must be updated by the app developer to be AirPlay compatible.

    Hello,
Can I stream video (through WebCam) and audio (through

Can I access the user WebCam from Applet?
ThanksTo access the user WebCam from Applet, you can use the Java Twain package http://www.gnome.sk
There is a tutorial with many code examples. One part of the tutorial deals specially with remote applications - there are applet code examples.
On the http://www.gnome.sk there are online examples for the remote applications too - if you have a webcam connected to your computer, the Upload Applet will get an image from your webcam and upload it to the server.

if there are other networks on your channel, or on an adjacent channel (channel number same as your +/- 1), then you can try changing to a channel that is in a clearer area
altering mtu didn't help, but it is possible that changing some of the other tcp/ip parameters could improve things
if you aren't familiar with command-line methods of doing it, there are a number of freeware/shareware tools that allow you to adjust parameters
this is a commercial one ($30), but it has a free trial period so you can see if it helps you identify any useful parameter changes...
