    Hello GrahamBIOM,
I understand while viewing a video or listening to some different content, you lose audio, is that correct? I will do all I can to assist you with this issue.
Does the issue occur when you have headphones inserted? If you are not sure, if you have a set of headphones available could you test that please?
Please respond back at your earliest convenience with results.
    Thanks

  • Problem when exporting movie, video stops after 2 minutes

I set up a Project containing both images and videos. They were all shot using a digital camera (Canon SD400).
When I export the 5 minute movie, around 2 minutes the video freezes, but the music (from an mp3 file) keeps playing. At 2 minutes one of the videos start to play and the video has a little yellow button showing on it in the timeline. None of the other videos have this little yellow button, although I am not convinced that this is the one causing the problem. Here is an image of it:
    http://dombovari.com/stuff/imovie.png
Any ideas why the video playback would stop when I export it? It plays fine in iMovie when I preview the project, but when exporting, the video playback stops.
    Thanks!

I have this very same problem. All 640x480 clips shot with a Canon SD550. iMovie 5 will play back everything fine in iMovie, but once I export the file using H.264 or MPEG-4, the video stops after about 30 seconds (of the 3 and half minutes of the video). The music still plays, but the video has not exported properly (and it shows in the file size).
What WILL work is if you export it to web, but I can't use that. I need it exported at its full quality. (Also will not work, by the way.) But, again, it plays in iMovie just fine. I even tried exporting from the timeline file (with the reference media files) in the iMovie file package—but I get the exact same results.
Quite frustrating considering it works in iMovie just fine. Any other ideas, folks?

  • Youtube videos stop after activating bluetooth headset

Anybody else having youtube videos stop after activating a bluetooth headset?
I've seen a few people mention it, but no consistent resolution. One post said to change the audio frequency under midi config, but the panel only gives an option of 8Kb.

I'd love to see some resolution on this as well. It seems any(?) flash based application or plugin will refuse to play audio and/or video when the default audio output device is a bluetooth headset. I've tested this in several browsers with flash video. Oddly, if the web-based flash video is downloaded, VLC is able to play it with no problems.
My guess is this is a conflict between Adobe's Flash player and the bluetooth drivers in OSX.
The suggestion regarding changing the MIDI frequency to 44Khz is also not an option as this particular headset is limited to 8Khz (one channel)

  • Can I stream video to apple tv and sound to airtunes at the same time?

Does anyone know whether I can stream video to apple tv and sound to airtunes (airport express) at the same time? I am trying to build a setup where I watch the video via a projector (connected to ATV) and get sound from my hi-fi system which sits on the opposite side of the room.
Has anyone tried that? Would it work?
    Thanks!

Not controlling things from AppleTV 2
AppleTV 1 used to be able to output its audio to an Express AppleTV cannot.
    Maybe using Airplay from itunes/idevice.

  • There is no audio output on my MBA in the system preferences-sound folder. Therefore no sound comes from my computer. At the same time this happened, any streaming video stopped playing after 11 seconds, as well as iTunes will not play any song. Help!?

    Hello everyone.
i have a 15" MBA circa 2011 running Lion 10.7.5 and my sound has gone, There is a no sound circle on my volume display and in system preferences sound my options for output is empty. At the same time this happened I noticed 2 things: 1) itunes would not actually play any audio track and every video i streamed stopped after a few seconds (usually 11s) but not always.
I have tried following some tips I have found online like going into MIDI and fixing the problem there, restarting in safe mode. Resetting with PRAM (or something that sounds like that).
Does anyone have any insight on this? At this point i'm thinking it's time to reload Lion but I don't really know how to go about that without losing all of my files.
    Please Help
    Thanks

  • Flash videos stop after about a second of playback ?

ANY flash videos that are played inside Internet explorer OR
firfox stop after about a second of playback, I can drag the slider
to the middle of the video and it will play for another second then
stop. Can anybody HELP. PS I also have NO sound in any FLASH stuff
since installing flash player 9. ALL other video's (WMP,MOV,RM)
    play OK WITH sound

    Hi ATR
Thanks for the advice and ideas.
I think that the vertical white line basically just shows where the mouse pointer last was relative to the time line, and if you move it from the editing window to the viewing window, it retains its last known position on the time line.
None the less - I implemented your suggestion.
Even if I move the clip further down the timeline, the playback stops about 1-4 secons after I hit play. Even if I move the clip 60 seconds back from the starting line, playback stops while the the playback position is running through the empy space prior to reaching the new starting time of the clip.
If I move the blue cursor that shows the current playing point to anywhere else in the clip, it plays for about 1-4 second and then freezes as before.
Clearly the playback freezes regardless of where it is in the content stream.
I have also discovered a new unexpected feature... The problem seems to be intermittent - if I open a few other clips, and play them, and return to the previous clip, it may run for some time and then freeze. After it has then frozen once, it freezes consistently after 1-4 seconds.
It is also worth noting that it freezes in quick mode too, regardless of timelines.
So there you have it - an intermittent issue.
I have bad to use iMovie in the meantime, which works without issues.
It is beginning to look like a bug in the application...
    Thanks again for your suggestions.

  • Sound from videos stops after a few seconds on Quicktime

I bought a new Samsung camera and took some videos at a concert. When I put the videos on my MacBook Pro and try to play them on Quicktime, the sound stops after a few seconds. When I try to play them on iMovie or use them in iMovie, not only is there no sound after a few seconds but the sound that is there is sped up.
The audio works fine in VLC but doesn't seem to work with anything else on my Mac. I've tried Perian, Flip4Mac...
    Codecs: H.264, AAC
    Help?

I've seen this issue in the past.  I think it is connected to the operating system itself.  I say this because I reinstalled the os using itunes and then restored a backup.  Then garageband started behaving again.  Then the issue came back - after I did an os update.  So I'd try reverting back to a fresh version of the latest os, and then restoring your apps using a backup.
    Hope it helps

  • Videos stop after few seconds then continue

My system is W7 Home Premium 32 bit and IE 8
Just recently I find that when I try to play a video clip (generally BBC News
but also others) the rotating circle of dots displays whilst the video is loading
but it then plays (sound and vision) for only a few seconds then stops for about
10 seconds and then resumes playing right through to the end.  If I click on
'play again' it will play the complete video without any interruption.
At first I thought this was my system malfunctioning, but having set up a laptop
for a friend (using W7 Home Premium 63 bit and IE 8) the same thing is happening.
I am posting to this forum as it seems that many video problems are down to
    aspects/settings of Flash Player.
All suggestions to resolve this problem greatly appreciated.

Hi, I am glad you were able to get into the BBC site.  You may probably know that the BBC are
forbidden to broadcast commercial advertisements in the UK, but I understand they are allowed
to do so for some of their foreign broadcasts - to recoup some of their expenses.
It occurs to me that because the news video was preceded by an advertisement, the video had
enough time to completely download before it started to play.  Does that sound reasonable?
I get the feeling that my problem is concerned with buffering and the video is starting to play before
it is completely downloaded; as I said previously, replaying the video (when the whole file is presumably
in memory) it plays right through without interruption.
As I stated in my first post, viewing videos on my friend's laptop is also having the same problem.
Instead of connecting the laptop into a network, I have disconnected my own desktop Ethernet
connection from my modem and then connected the laptop via the Ethernet.  That means that the
common things to both systems are the modem and the Internet connection to my ISP, which
makes me wonder if there is a problem with the modem?  It will be interesting to see what happens
when I take the laptop back to him and connect via his router.
Having checked the Shockwave Flash Object I was surprised to find it is version 10.0.045.2
whereas Adobe's 'about' page informs me that I have version 10.1.102.64 of Adobe Flash Player
installed.  I understand that Shockwave is installed as part of Flash Player so do not understand
the discrepancy between versions.  Could the different versions cause a conflict?  However
my friend's laptop shows 10.1.102.64 for Shockwave and Flash Player.
The files in the Flash folder are - Flash101.ocx, Flash Install.log, FlashUtil101_ActiveX.dll
    FlashUtil101_ActiveX.exe and install.log
With regards to streaming another site I go to is EarthCam - http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/
and have no problems watching this.
Hope you may be able to deduce something from all of the above
    Thanks

  • Video stops after two seconds

I've had a Macbook for a little over seven months, and this problem just started showing up a few days ago. It's the video. It will start playing for the first two seconds and it'll just stop there. It happens to every video I play. I've tried different DVDs so it's not a problem with the DVD itself. I also tried viewing videos on YouTube, and the same thing happens. I could move the bar thing around, but it'll just play for another two seconds. What's wrong, and how can I remedy this problem?

Someone told me to do a software update. The video works now.

  • I can`t listen to Youtube without stopping every second and also videos

I have Windows 7, I did install Adobe Flash Player version 10.1. Can't listen music in Youtube or videos, without stopping every second. Someone suggested that I change the buffer rate lower, but I don't know where to go.

Visiting the site, nothing plays for me. Are you sure there's audio supposed to be playing from there? Or am I supposed to click something on it?

  • Dashboard widget with streaming video breaks after upgrade to Mountain Lion

Hi.  I recently upgraded from Snow Leopard to Mountain Lion.  Under SL, I had an OS X widget that was a web clipping of a streaming mpeg image being produced by a Linksys/Cisco WVC54GCA web camera.  When I brought up the dashboard, the OS would start streaming the data from the mpeg filename, which looks like "hostname.com/img/video.mjpeg".
After upgrading to Mountain Lion, I noted that the widget never fully loads, indefinitely displaying a "Loading Clip..." mesasge.  After deleting and re-adding, I can still get as far as adding the web clipping to the dashboard at the right dimensions, but there's no content.
Unfortunately the camera unit doesn't provide for the display of HTTP access logs, so I can't see if there's an issue there, but my understanding is that if I can display the image in a Safari browser, it should work just fine in Dashboard too.  (I did make sure that, where needed, the username/password for accessing the video are included in the URL.)
I did sniff the network traffic between my system and the camera host, and show that video traffic starts flowing between the two as soon as the widget is brought up.  So, it's almost like the widget doesn't know when to stop "loading" and start "displaying," perhaps because the HTTP request is never truly "done."
Can anyone speculate if something may have changed in Mountain Lion affecting the ability of web clipping widgets to display streaming video?
    Thanks,
    Chris

    Hi James
I have exactly the same problem with the same "Loading clip" then blank.  I have been trying a lot of stuff to get this working, but haven't had the chance of sniffing the network traffic as you have done.  By reading what you said about the traffic seems to be flowing without the picure being displayed makes me even more puzzled by this.  I never had a streaming video while  I were using Snow Leopard, but I had a still-image, as I also do now in Mountain Lion.  I recently began to research for a way to display the video.cgi MIME image that my camera produces, and I've also concluded that this should be an easy task for the dashboard web clip function; the video does display in safari after all.
I suspect that our cameras uses the same built in webserver solution written by a "Steven Wu".  Cheap webcameras frequently uses his script with MJPEG (stream of JPEG pictures) to avoid the expensive licenses of using other video codecs.
I read this a bit down at this site: http://channel9.msdn.com/coding4fun/articles/Everyone-Loves-Babies-Webcams-and-M otion-Detection
Have you come any closer in your research?
I have started to think that maybe I have to write a dashboard widget on my own to accomplish this.

  • Streamed video skips AFTER fully buffered

    Hi All!
First I'm running Win XP SP3, IE8 and FlashPlayer 11 with a 4Mb ADSL connection.
When I stream video it starts fine while it is buffering, but as soon as the buffer is complete, the video begins to skip or jump, trying to keep up with the audio.  The lag time increases as the file continues to play starting from a second at a time to 10 seconds and more depending on the length of the video.
It doesn't matter where the video comes from and oddly enough it doesn't happen all the time maybe 60 to 75%.
It doesn't matter if I let the video completely buffer before playing it, it just skips from the beginning.
I've tried reinstalling Flash11, which did not help, the happened with Flash 10 as well.
I don't have a buffering problem.  Videos buffer fine, (OK when online traffic is high, buffer is slow, but this is not related to the skipping which only starts AFTER the video has finished buffering.
I've been scouring the internet for related issues and haven't found anything, so I'm posting this here.
I think there must be some setting on my system that's interfering somehow, but what that is I have no idea.
I hope someone out there does!
    Thanks for listening,
    Jane

  • Streaming videos stop mid-stream

I am having ongoing issues with watching streaming videos. Any video - Youtube, Quicktime (e.g. from the Apple site), etc. - only partially loads and plays. Sometimes reloading the webpage gets me further, but often it will stop again. This happens on all the browsers I use: Safari, Firefox and Chrome. It also happens on both my Macbook Pro and my daughter's Macbook (also running 10.6.2). It doesn't happen on the Windows computer on our network.

Check your internet connection speeds. My speed is way lower than it should be. Like more than 10x slower in OSX than in Win7 on the same iMac. I think the problem is there. Try speedtest.net to see what you get. Run it immediately after booting and then try running it again. I get a fast initial run and then it drops to a fraction of that initial speed. Almost like a buffer or something fills up and then slows everything down. So far I have not figured this one out.

  • Videos stop after 10 sec.  How to remedy

Just got Iphone 4s the past Friday.  Videos start then stop after 10 sec. Tap play then stops after 1 sec. Will not play more than 1 sec.  Solutions?

It seems that the work-around for this is to change the compatability mode to "Vista". Right click on shortcut, select properties, then the Compatability tab and enable Vista compatability.
Don't know why this was happening but this seems to fix it.
