Streaming video to open in separate qt player window

I need to add some streaming video to my web site. I am able to do all what I need except I need the streaming video to open in a separate qt player window. Not the window I choose the video from.
Any advise on this would be appreciated.

Click video to open in separate window !!

I assume many of you know this but I just discovered it yesterday. If you click on a video (tv show, pixar movie, or music video) that is displayed in the lower left hand part of the iTunes window while it is playing it will open in a separate window, allowing you to move it around and resize it easily.
Thought I would pass this on in case some of you missed it.

My daughters love the pixar movies and although I have a 65 inch hdtv in the same room as my imac, it is just cool to be able to watch Lost in a window on my imac while I surf the web or fiddle with imovie or iphoto.

Photoshop opens a separate (but identical) window every time i select edit original in InDesign

I'm running CS5 and have a problem when editing linked files from InDesign.
As an example:
• I have an InDesign file that has a Photoshop file linked to it.
• I need to edit the linked file so i use the 'Edit Original' function in the Links Panel - this open the link in Photoshop.
• I edit and save but leave the file open
• InDesign updates the change but i need to change something else
• I use 'Edit Original' again but instead of taking me straight back to the PSD file i was just working on, Photoshop opens a new window that i am supposed to make changes to
• If i was to make 5 changes, there would be 5 separate, windows open in Photoshop
• Closing the file at the end of each change isn't an option as some Photoshop files exceed 1.5GB
Any suggestions...?

I concur, and am a little frustrated with suggestions that you should "simply" flip between apps. That isn't a solution, it's what you're forced to do because things aren't working properly.
I see you have been asking in the InDesign forum. I am surprised no one there suggested trashing your preferences. I would start there, I would also consider trashing Photoshop's preferences (I think it's much the same deal as ID, but you'd better check.)
I wonder what happens when you use Edit With > Photoshop. Does that behave the same?
And I can't help but wonder if it isn't something in your system. Does double-clicking a PSD in Finder work properly -- and twice in a row? Do you notice anything unusual at all? What about applets that commandeer shortcuts? Grasping at straws, but sometimes the way to fix a problem is to look where it can't be.

Photoshop opens a separate (but identical) window every time i select edit original in Illustrator

There was is currently a "Discussion" in the PS Forum on this only it refers to InDesign.
I can confirm this behaviour using Illusttrator. Is a way to disable Photoshop from opening two files with the same name?
I realize this could be a useful feature to some, however in certain workflows this is annoying.
Test this:
Open Photoshop.
Create a quick file.
Save on desktop.
Do not close the PS file.
Open Illustrator and place your PS file.
Now "option double click" the placed image in Illustrator to edit original.
BANG. You now have two identical PS files open.

That does not happen to me in CS5 or CS6 Illustrator on Mac, and has never happened in the past. What happens is the already open Photoshop file is brought to focus.
Do you possibly have CC? I know they added a feature for unembed images, and wondering if possibly you have an embedded image rather than linked. In CS5 or CS6 mac you cannot edit original on an embedded image, but if you could you would theoretically have 2 images looking the same open in photoshop.
You could try resetting your Phothsop preferences, if my stab at this being related to CC has no relevance.

I have a Asha 201, which, I believe has the same spec as the 200 but can use only one sim card at a time. Thank you for providing the link for the device details for the Asha 200 but I can't see on that page were it says that the Asha can't stream or download video content. I've been have a row with Nokia over this issue for my 201. As late as yesterday I was told that the Asha can stream, but can't download by customer services. Finally got an email today telling me that the Asha's OS does not support video streaming. So you were perfect correct in your reply to the original message here. I think Nokia have got a cheek, as on the website for the Asha there is a youtube app on display which, surely implies that the phone can use the site. Anyway, if you could point me to the part of the page you provided that actually tells the customer no streaming, I be very grateful. Thank you in advance.

Dreamweaver to launch SWF in separate Flash player

Hi everyone,
I'm hoping someone will be able to help me. I'm creating a
simple web page in Dreamweaver that includes links to SWF files in
the same folder. I want to be able to have the user click the link
to launch the SWF files in a separate Flash player window and not
in a browser window. (Clicking the link currently opens the SWF in
Internet Explorer).

I created a file in Captivate and upon publishing the file,
an HTM and SWF file were published. I would like to launch the SWF
file in its own window. I don't know the technical backend of it,
but upon first glance, the title bar for the window that launches
says "Macromedia Flash Player 7" when I launch the SWF file, and
it's "[IE logo] {name of file}" when I launch the HTM file.
The issue is that the visual quality of the content is not as
clear/crisp in the HTM launched file as it is in the SWF file, and
I want to make Dreamweaver launch the SWF file in a separate
window, not the HTM file.

Am streaming video file with use of VLC player,while streaming the video file i want to receive and store the video file.

You first need to know, how VLC streams the data. If you know that, you have to write client code, which can connect to VLC and receive packets. The next step would be to analyze the packets and extract the video/ausio data from it and write it to a file. But all depends on what video format is streamed with which protocol.

IBook OS X updates and Safari Streaming Video Hesitations

8/18/2009. Friends, two questions really. First, I have an iBook (2004) with OS X 10.5.4. I think I would like to update with the latest Safari 4.0.1 (or whatever). Its requirements state OS X 10.5.7. Can I just update with OS X 10.5.7 directly or do I need to go through 10.5.5 then 10.5.6 first?? And then install Safari 4.0.1? Second, I can stream videos without interruptions on my PC with Windows XP Professional OS. But on my iBook with Safari, there are frequent interruptions as the iBook struggles to download and keep up. How do I improve this? Do I need to download Adobe Flash Player 10 ? No Smooth Streaming Video In Tiger

I have a 20 Imac with Tiger 10.4.11, 3GB ram, 256meg video, 2.16 dual core processor, 500 GB HD with 413 GB free and the fastest cable internet connection available - something like 8mbps. I've been watching live streaming video of my church services on a Windows Vista computer with Windows Media Player without a flaw, that had a similar configuration as my Mac- certainly not higher than my Mac - with the same internet connection. Now on my Mac with Quicktime I watch about 4 or 5 minutes of good video then about 30 to 90 sec of dropped frames, chopped and frozen video. Then about 4 or 5 minutes of good video and the cycle goes on. I purchased Quicktime Pro in hopes that would help but there's no difference. Does anyone have any Ideas?

Don't understand why you ponied up $30 for the QuickTime Pro upgrade as it doesn't add anything the regular player doesn't already include.
Windows Media Player formats are not playable with QuickTime without that third party software help and your issues are with that software (and maybe your machine).
Your "fastest" Internet connection speed is also meaningless if the download stalls during playback. You can only get what the server sends and it sounds like they don't send fast enough.
Check with the folks at http://flip4mac.com/support.htm as it's their software (not QuickTime) that may be the bottleneck.

Then ask on a vlc forum, or the TV support site.
Some companies streaming TV will not be intending for you to operate in such a manner and potentially save their content. Copyright issues are likely to be involved.

i have a problem with opening the default media player, to play a video (a stream uri from youtube) in widows phone 8.1
when i was write to windows phone 8.0 i used

and now i used (wp8.1) :

that open IE file download with a open/save dialog.
if i click on open it's open the windows media player and play the video as i wanted

In WP Runtime,
Windows.System.Launcher.LaunchUriAsync is the only way to play supported video using default media player:
