Streaming Win7 desktop or URL to DLNA TV

I've seen various reports that it is possible to configure DLNA/upnp servers for Win such as TVersity and VC to stream a live windows desktop to a DLNA-capable TV (i.e. on that supports DMR). Based on what I read, the configurations don't seem to work consistently
and seem a bit complicated. Can anyone here with experience with this comment on: (1) what server are you using and how well does it work over a 802.11n wireless lan (2) can any Microsoft streaming products achieve this? (3) is it possible to stream
urls to a DNLA TV with any Win7 software that doesn't require complex configuration? (this would be similar to some of the higher-end Samsung SmartTVs that have built-in web-browser capability).

solution was the Intel WiDi (wireless display) and Netgear Push2TV.

Looks like there is a key that isn't getting deleted when an account is deleted. I thought I had resolved the error message problem by removing my wife's account from my Thunderbird instance. Haven't seen it since the above post. Just got it again:

Streaming titles--to open url takes several times--can not listen to a title at once--HORROR!

streaming titles on itunes sometimes not possible-although net connection is working at its best and although cleaning cache..always the stream needs to open url again and again and again--its completely nerving!!--for one title every 2 seconds a new stream!!!raaaahh!

I have tried to export them in various sizes and qualities (also export using QT) I can get every possible format doing this.
Exporting to MobileMe is done, as you said, in two steps. Reendering works fine then comes the next window: uploading to MobileMe. This works until the end of the upload (progress bar finished). But then iMovie and/or MobileMe need to communicate to eg make to movie available to the gallery (or whatever) and in this last step something is going wrong.
I've just checked the MobileMe export screen: there all possible sizes (small... big) are valid for MobileMe. I could upload the movie once in its smalles size (176x144) but a movie that size is more or less a joke. So if I will use this feature at least 480x360 must be possible otherwise this service is useless to me.

Stream videos from NAS to UPNP/DLNA device with shuffle

Hi everyone,
I've just got an iPad2.
I'm looking for a way to stream my music videos to UPNP/DLNA devices such as my media player (Popcorn Hour A-210) or PS3 or Samsung Smart TV, from my networked hard drive using my iPad, with the possibility to shuffle songs.
My media player can stream directly from my NAS, but it doesn't have a shuffle function..
The only thing I could think of was to hook up my MacBook to my TV via HDMI and shuffle-play my videos through iTunes or other software, but that's not ideal because I have to have the MacBook running, and it has to be tethered to the TV..

you can't with the build in music app but there are tons of upnp apps in app store
used a wide range of different ones pure upnp before I found that my NAS maker had their own sets of app

type in upnp in search in app store and give some a try

I have an officejet pro 8600 connected via usb cable to my win7 desktop. I want to share/install the printer on a netbook running winxp. I used to share my previous printer over the win7 workgroup. The netbook can see the workgroup and the win7 pc, but not the printer.

Yes, I have gotten further now. I added the x86 driver, and then manually typed in the \\pcname\printername on the xp netbook. It asked for a username and password which i thought was strange because password share is not enabled. anyway, i read on another forum that you can type any username and leave password blank and it will grant access. and strangely enough it worked. or so i thought. the post also said it would not re-grant access upon reboot of the xp machine, so i tried that as well. well now the printer appears on the xp machine but will not print/open preferences/test print. so it appears that I am still stymied.

Win7 desktops secpol and Local Sec Policy not showing auditing enabled

ok, I thought I have this licked with a solution before,
I have a Server 2008 R2 and Win7 Desktops where I have a Server 2008 GPO to Audit Events on the server and desktops, however at the desktops locally auditing is greyed out and displaying ‘no auditing’ but logs show auditing entries.

Streaming live desktop video.

I'm trying to stream live desktop video to a remote client. I can stream for about 3 seconds then it gives me a memory error saying that there isn't enough memory... Is there a way to flush the memory instead of trying to retain it? Becuase i'm sure if I could just flush the data after I transmit it, the memory error would go away. I'm using the datasource.java and livestream.java from the screen grabber example. Oh by the way i'm transmitting at 30 fps thats why it takes so little time for memory to run out. That's stange, I wouldn't expect that to happen if you're streaming.
Can you post your code? No need to include the 2 sample files...

Stream Mac desktop to AppleTV (or PS3)

I was wondering if it would be possible to stream my Mac's desktop to the AppleTV? I'm thinking of the following process, but not sure where to start:
- Use VLC or some kind of video capture software to stream to a file.
- Share this file through iTunes (or a DLNA server for PS3)
- Access this file through Apple TV (or PS3)

Video streaming from a phone to a DLNA TV via a Ho...

The Network:
I have a Home Hub 2b ( Software version 4.7.5.1.83.2.11.2.6 (Type B) ) running on Infinity 2. The router is set for b/g/n working.
I have two devices, one a netbook PC set for 'n' working and this connects at 54Mbps at best. The other a new WP8 device ( Lumia 620 ) which connects at 39Mbs at best to the same router. Even if both devices are physically next to the router.
A DLNA TV is connected via wired 'power hub adapter' cables, the router claims this is connected at 100Mbps. This setup plays BBC iPlayer HD via an inbuilt TV app through this same wired connection fine.
A speed test to an ADSL speed test connection site usually gives mid to high twenty's speed for the Netbook around say 26Mbps, and mid to low twenty's for the phone say 21Mbps download speeds.
The problem:
The phone can make 720p or WVGA video which play OK on the phone. But when I stream them via my network to the DLNA TV they stutter really badly. The 720p is worst and the WVGA is not quite as bad, but neither are smooth and you wouldn't want to watch either for long.
The Questions:
1 Why should a new 'n' phone only connect to the BT router at 39Mbps (as reported by the router), yet an older 'n' netbook connect at 54Mbps?
2 For a BT HH2b, what are the expected connection speeds from an 'n' device. i.e. is 54Mb and 39Mb acceptable and expected or is it slow?
3. Should I be able to stream 720p video wirelessly to the hub and then wired to the TV. (The TV plays BBC iPlayer HD stuff fine through the same wired connection).

EDIT - I later found this on the Nokia sites (as yet unconfirmed) FAQ:
When connecting Nokia mobile device (e.g. N8-00) to a WLAN access point using the IEEE 802.11n mode, connectivity issues have been observed with access points from certain vendors. Problems have been observed with at least the following WLAN products:
FritzBox 7270
Livebox 2
BT HomeHub V2.0 Type B
Netgear DGN1000
The issue is related to a WLAN chip used in these access points. To solve the problems, it is recommended to upgrade the access point firmware to the latest version.
If there is no firmware update available or the update doesn't help, the workaround is to disable the 802.11n mode and force the access points to use just the 802.11b/g mode.
Is anyone aware if this issue is now fixed and out of date?

Mind you though, it would be nice if BT could just get their auto-update system working. I bet there are loads of people with HH2s probably on the wrong (old) software. I know one other at least. f they can't make an auto update system that works, why not at least provide a quick and easy manual update method, like click <update now> button?

You can't embed the player in a site. You embed video that USES Flash Player, but these days that's not a good idea, since mobile devices (tablets, SmartPhones) don't use Flash.
You really need to embed HTML5 video. It requires no plug-in and it's accessible by computer users as well as mobile viewers.
Ask in the Dreamweaver forum for tips on using HTML5 video.

Desktop login URL ?

URL i used to access the desktop is:
http:x.x.x.x:80/portal/dt?provider=MyContainer
The problem is that the portal expects 'amconsole' to be up and running without timeout. As suggested in the forum I tried using: http:x.x.x.x:80/portal/dt
which displays sunone sample portal. The only 'org' within the portal is 'ISDDemo'. So I did not specify 'org' in the url. (though i tried once for trial).
I get a empty container in the desktop on running the portal without amconsole.
Developers guide suggests me to name the container in the url which has all the customized channels. Appreciate if anyone throw some light on this.

You might have already checked it but just in case, did you check the server console when this happens ?
If there is any problem with the template file, it doesnt create a desktop even though it doesnt complain about this explicitly in the Portal Admin.

Oracle Streams Between Desktop and Server

Hi.
I have a Streams environment defined between a Suse Desktop and a Suse Server.
Characteristics:
Desktop Oracle:
- compatible = 10.2.0.1.0
- streams_pool_size = 100m
- job_queue_processes = 2
- global_names = true
Server Oracle:
- compatible = 10.2.0.3.0
- streams_pool_size = 112m
- job_queue_processes = 10
- global_names = true
After I execute all necessary steps to define Streams in this environment, I execute the following queries and the results is OK: ENABLED, CAPTURING CHANGES, etc.
select capture_name,status from dba_capture;
select capture_name,state from v$streams_capture;
select status,error_message from dba_propagation;
But now appear the problem: NOTHING is replicating. I do changes in tables of the Source DB e nothing happen in tables of Destination DB.
Please, how to discover or debug what are happening ?

After some time, now I have the ERROR_MESSAGE with blacks in the DBA_PROPAGATION. I have these results:
select capture_name,status from dba_capture; => CAPTURE_NAME ENABLED
select capture_name,state from v$streams_capture; => CAPTURE_NAME CAPTURING CHANGES
select status,error_message from dba_propagation; => ENABLED (null)
The DBLINK between SOURCE and DESTINATION DBs is OK.
But again, NOTHING is replicating.

Unable to stream radio station's URL to iTunes

I listen to a radio station on Safari from listenlive.ie. I no longer am able to copy that URL into iTunes Open Stream so I can listen to it in Air Play.
