Streamline with Version 10, please advise
I will be working on projects including scanned line art, need to convert to vector. Used to use Adobe Streamline to this. I will be on a Mac OS 10.3.9 with Illustrator version 10 and I can't find out how to make these conversions. Please advise if this is possible with vers 10. I'm stuck (dead in the water) until I figure out this problem!
Thanks, Rene. I needed the confirmation that it couldn;t be done in vers 10 and that Streamline isn't available. I'll check out vectormagic, hadn't heard of it. Been a while since I needed to "streamline" things. I appreciate your tip.

I uninstalled firefox then reinstalled firefox. because I did not like a couple of add-ons that I wanted to remove. I thought I would still have all of my bookmarks. However, all my bookmarks were cleaned out with the new installed version. Then I tried to Repair Windows in System Restore to back track a few days in hope to recover the old version of firefox. It did not get back the old version and no bookmarks. I still get the new version with no bookmarks. Please advise me how to recover my bookmarks.
A possible cause is a problem with the file places.sqlite that stores the bookmarks and the history.

Streamline as you may know it's been discontinued, now it's included since Illustrator CS2 as a Live Trace feature.

I wish to purchase a webcam for use with Skype. I have a 12" PowerBook G4 with OS X 10.4.11, 1.33 GHz. What inexpensive webcams are compatible with my laptop? (Mine is the metal case. The model number is: PowerBook 6,4) Please advise.

You can possible get a used one for $30-$50 on Craig's List or eBay. Be sure & get one with the laptop mount. The first versions only came with a table mount.

IPhoto won't see iPhone. No problem with iTunes. Please advise.
I have upgraded to iPhoto '11 v. 9.1.3 a few weeks ago. At some point since then I have noticed that my iPhone will not appear in iPhoto so I cannot import photos. I have tried all the obvsious ways around this but it's not coming up so I have no way of backing up my photos. Can't even get the Bluetooth route to work but that's another question! Have done all the usual such as re-starting both devices etc and nothing. I also recently had to do a restore on my phone and the problem may have happened since then. The phone appears in iTunes no problem.
Please advise as I have some lovely pics of my kids that I want to back up asap! ThanksGreetings Lisa,
The most common cause of this issue is #1. Incompatible picture (received via email or downloaded from the Internet) in the camera roll and #2. Issues with the iOS (not up to date, damaged, etc). As you just did a restore we can probably eliminate #2.

This doesn't tell us anything. If you tell us what you have tried that will help you to receive new ideas as opposed to repeats of what you've already done.
Can't even get the Bluetooth route to work
iPhoto does not import images over Bluetooth from an iPhone that I am aware of. I certainly wouldn't recommend it given low data transfer rates of Bluetooth and the possibility of wireless interference were it possible.
Please advise as I have some lovely pics of my kids that I want to back up asap!
Email the desired images to yourself if you need them off the phone quickly.
Try using Image Capture to import your images. It is found in Macintosh HD > Applications > Image Capture.

Also, I have a time machine back up on an external drive, but im hesitant to use it. I have some VERY important photos that are not axles up. Does anyone know if unbacked up data is erased when you restore from time machine? I have already tried the disk utilities to repair the drive and the drive permissions.

Encoder 2014 crashing with OpenGL error - please advise
I did some research and split my 40-minute sequence (AVCHD 1080p 30fps) into chunks... did fine until the last one which was only 7:56 long - another successful export - Vimeo 1080p with MQR selected as suggested in the forum was longer. Up until this week's issues (updating to 2014.2 then rolling back to 2014.0), I had been exporting 2 hour sequences with no issues what so ever, in 2014.0.
Here is a screen capture of the error - this time, instead of white screen crashing, it did take me to Nvidia where the only partner/app selection is the one for the K6000 - 331.something.
I read on one forum that driver 334.95 is the one to use; I will try that next. I am using 341.21 - the latest WHQL available according to Nvidia.
So what driver should I be using? Are there particular settings I need to check in the Nvidia desktop app?

Problems with Bridge Mode - Please advise.
Folks I have my Time Capsule on our network in bridge mode to use it as a switch and wireless access point. Internet connectivity seems to keep having problems and I am not sure if my setup makes sense:
My Setup: Netgear DGN3500 Router (modem built in) ->Time Capsule (in bridge mode via ethernet) -> Network devices
Problems:
- Time Capsule TCP/IP has 169.xxx.xx.xx IP Address using DHCP, subnet is wrong (missing one "255" set) , router address is correct
- Netgear router sees Time Capsule connected with a proper IP address (192.168.1.xxx) in routing table
- flashing amber light due to airport not having a valid IP address even though I turned wireless off temporarily for the purposes of trouble shooting. I first just want to get ethernet working correctly
I've reset my router, the Time Capsule all settings, renewed DHCP Lease in Time Capsule...all the standard fanfare.
Any ideas folks or is this thing just done?
Tesserax if you're out there, please respond. I think you've addressed this as well, but I have no solution.If my router is the DHCP server and my TC is in bridge mode (accepting DHCP info) shouldn't my TC be getting 192.xxx.x.xxx numbers and same subnet mask?
Yes. Have you power cycled the entire network as a troubleshooting step in this regard? If not, power everything down on the entire network, order is not important.
Start your modem first and let it run a moment by itself, then start the next router connected to the modem the same way. Start the Time Capsule the same way. Continue starting devices one a time the same way until the entire network is powered back up.
Additionally, if the TC is in bridge mode, can it serve other devices through the other LAN ports?
Yes. In bridge mode the ethernet ports are acting like a simple ethernet switch. Since they all behave like LAN ports in this configuration, try a different port on the Time Capsule for your connection from the switch to see if that helps.
I suppose I could tell my netgear to only give a range of addresses and the TC another range, but I didn't think I'd have to go through all of that.
I would not recommend that you do this. Even if you are able to avoid IP address conflicts, you'll have a Double NAT error on the network, at best slowing communications down. At worst, devices on one sub net will not be able to communicate with devices on the other sub net.
By the way I forgot to mention one part of my network - the switch (not the LAN one built into my netgear router). There's a 24-port
As a troubleshooting step, try bypassing the switch to see if that makes any difference in the performance of the TC. I like Netgear switches and have used them for years, but I've also had an occasional failure in several of their ethernet switches. It does happen.

The company is a cool hip music software company and I have sent a email resume, had one small interview with head hunter (not the company), they forward my materials, said it might take a while, but since my skills and passion line up perfectly with the job (basically working with artists who use the software) and turning it into PR material - I want to send them a VIDEO or PODCAST (thinking more video) so they can get a feel of how I am (have worked with many artists) and am wondering how you would do it?

Not sure, just want them to get a feel for my upbeatness and have them be able to see the DVD when they put it in there player but don't want to spend all day making menues and stuff, just a quick hello and why I want this job.

Yes, that's one option. In a Presentation Zen article, Garr Reynolds includes a simple example of a "digital postcard" made in Keynote with just three slides. Click on the thumbnail to view it along with some notes on how he did it:

I have seen the forms used in the Portal before and they are much better looking than what you see in the backend! I haven't done any customization to get PMP forms to display in the Portal, but I have seen it done. It might be worth opening a new post with a clear heading asking the question specifically, as this should attract an answer (there are lots of people on the forums with PMP experience).
When I refereed to "add a tab" I meant that some clients had changed a tab in the Talent Profile or added a new tab. The latter requires a lot of development while the former doesn't require so many. I think if you use the Accomplishments tab you can use the upload functionality to save documents etc. To do this you require customization of the Talent Profile web dynpro application.

NOW, I can't open my Yahoo email, I get a message that to make Yahoo work with Firefix, I must download Javascript. But the directions to download aren't complete. Hi. I currently sync my iphone with a G5, which i'm now selling. What is the procedure for syncing with a brand new mac? What do i need to do to make the switch over?

Thank youIdeally, you should move your data from your old Mac to your new Mac directly. Since you're moving from a PPC-based Mac to an Intel-based Mac, I'd personally recommend against using Migration Assistant. Instead, you can move your files (including calendars, mail accounts, etc.) by following the detailed instructions in this User Tip:

When you connect to the new Mac, your iTunes-managed media content will be replaced - that includes music, videos, ringtones, apps, and pictures. Items on the Info tab (contacts, calendars) will be synced as well - if the corresponding apps on the new Mac (iCal, Address Book) are completely empty, the data on the iPhone will be deleted. Thus, you're best bet is to have those data moved over as described above. Alternatively, if you create one new calendar entry and one new contact (make them up), you'll be prompted to choose to Replace or Merge the data - choose Merge and the contacts/events will be transferred from the iPhone to the new Mac.

If you have purchased a used ipad, and you think there may be a possibility of previous owners info on it, then restore it as new. Your issue can probably be resolved without that, but I would recommend it.

Organize pictures in album ascending order
