Streams are included in Standard One and Express Editions?

Can I use Oracle streams in an environment with Standard One as master database, replicating data with Express Editions remote databases?

No every one the databases should be a 9.2 and above enterprise edition databases for streams to be setup.

Hi, I'm using Oracle Express in my Client System End. I want to know how we can replicate the data from server to client and server to client.
My Client DB : Oracle Express
My Server DB : Oracle 10G.
When the client is connected to the server I want to Syncronize all the Data from Client to Server and Server to Clinet.
Some of the Experts are telling to use Materilized View or Replication. Which one to use and How to use.?
It will be helpfull if I get a logic to do this Data Syncronization Process.

  • Oracle standard edition one and enterprise edition difference

Can the stadard edition one support user roles and access priveleges for them, for example can I create a user called u1, create an access privelege read_only and assign u1 to read_only.
Also, can I do database audits on the standard edition one database.
Can also be reached at [email protected]
    Appreciate your response.
    Thanks

    Hello,
Here is the basic difference between Standard Edition One and Enterprise Edition
Oracle Database Standard Edition One :
Oracle Database Standard Edition One delivers unprecedented ease of
use, power, and performance for workgroup, department-level, and Web
applications. Standard Edition One can only be licensed on servers with
a maximum capacity of two processors.
    Oracle Database Enterprise Edition :
Oracle Database Enterprise Edition provides the performance,
availability, scalability, and security required for mission-critical
applications such as high-volume online transaction processing (OLTP)
applications, query-intensive data warehouses, and demanding Internet
applications. Oracle Database Enterprise Edition contains all of the
components of Oracle Database, and can be further enhanced with the
purchase of the options and packs.

I have just got a new ipod touch but my game centre games are on the old one and i don't want to start them again, can I transfer the stage i'm at or anything?

The progress for some games will transfer since some games synce progress to a cental server. For other games you will have to have the backup of the old iPod.
You can restore from backup or access the backup. See:
How to transfer game saves between iOS devices, without iTunes, and without jailbreaking | TUAW - The Unofficial Apple Weblog
If you have acces to the old iPod yu can make a backup by connecting the iPod to the computer and right click on the iPOd under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up. Then restore from that backup.

  • To configure SSIS packages out of these SQL Server Standard, Web and Workgroup editions which is preferred?

    Hi All,
To configure SSIS packages out of these SQL Server Standard, Web and Workgroup editions which is preferred?
Grateful to your time and support. Regards, Shiva

    Hi Shiva,
SSIS designer and runtime, basic transforms, and data profiling tools are only supported by Standard and higher editions. Besides, some advanced SSIS adapters such as High performance Oracle/Teradata destination and Dimension processing destination adapter
are only supported in Enterprise edition. So, if you need to develop/modify SSIS packages on this server, Standard or even Enterprise editor is recommended.

  • Differences between oracle text in enterprise and express editions

are there any differences between oracle text features found in express edition and ent. edition. if so what are they?

There is a list of features available in the online documentation. The only thing that it mentions as being missing from Oracle Text are the english and french knowledge bases. There isn't any Intermedia or Ultra Search or Data Mining. Here is a link to the 10g Express Edition features guide:
    http://download-west.oracle.com/docs/cd/B25329_01/doc/license.102/b25456/toc.htm#BABDDIAE
There is a separate discussion group for 10g Express Edition, that requires a separate free registration:
    Oracle Database Express Edition (XE)
There is a thread on this subject in the 10g Express discussion group:
    Oracle Text
The above thread includes the following quick comparison:
If it's not in Standard Edition One, it is not in Express Edition. (Therefore everything that is in Enterprise but not in Standard Edition, is also not in Express Edition. That includes all EE-only options.)
If it requires Java in the database, it is not in Express Edition.
Other than that, it's mainly the size limits: 1 CPU (no parallel processing), 1 GB RAM, and 4 GB user-related tablespaces.

  • Is the SQL * Plus Worksheet included in the Oracle 10g Express Edition?

    Hello All,
I need to install Oracle 10g for a SQL class that I will be taking this year. I will be installing it in my laptop (Pentium 4, 1GB RAM). I was told by the Professor that I needed to have the SQL*Plus Worksheet. I would like to know which version of Oracle do I need to install, and If it includes the SQL*Plus Worksheet.
This is my first time working & installing Oracle, so I would appreciate if anyone could guide me thru this process.
    Thanks a lot,
    Ed

    No, it is not included.
However, the same functionality, and more, is in Oracle SQL Developer - also available free and download-able from the same area as Oracle Express Edition.
Ask your prof why he want Worksheet. If it's only for the ability to scroll and correct previous SQL (eg: easier time correcting mistakes), and loading scripts, ask if SQL Developer would be allowed. It's much superior and allows you to use XE, which will not sink your laptop like the EE version will.

Below you will find my scripts to test the redo generation for a simple create table as select statement. force_logging option in XE database is not enabled, but there is less difference redo generation. • Set a value on a  text area from a lookup table and then edit it

I work in a form of a PO system.
On the PO_line form, there is a Select list aginst the item table (displays Item.description and returns item.ID).
On the PO_line, the requirement is to have a text area named PO_Line.LineItemDescription where the moment of item selection will be populated with the Item.description.
After the selection of the Item, the user must be able to edit the PO_Line.LineItemDescription and save it.
If the user decides to go back and edit the line, if the PO_Line.LineItemDescription is manually edited it must remain as is, otherwise it must follow any item.id changes.
    Any ideas how to implement?

Goto the property inspector of table
in common have rowselect atribute select it as single
then go to the datacontrol expand your view object there is one node called operation expand operation
drag 'delete' and drop into your page create as command button.
run your page select one row and click the button it willbe delete from the view object
if you want to delete it from database you shoul commit it
