Stretch issue in 1.7

Hi all,
Unfortunately, I was one of the lucky 7000 series box owners who came to find that after the 1.7 image loaded, all of the guide data is now automatically STRETCHED to 16:9 even though it is in 4:3 format.
The implication is that all of my guide data (info popups, browsing the guide, setup, DVR menus, etc.) is now in the wrong aspect ratio for my TV. Everything displays stretched out. In the previous release, this was all displayed correctly, though in 4:3 format. Now, it is displayed stretched out in 16:9. The video window in the menus also distorts when using the guide.
As far as I'm concerned, this is a major bug in that there is no way to revert the behavior to how it was. I am very unhappy with the new behavior and this has turned out to be (so far) the only thing to tarnish a wonderful FIOS experience.While I would love a new, true 16:9 guide... I would very much like the original (correct) behavior over this stretchng behavior.
Hopefully the issue will be resolved as soon as possible. I hate to have created an awesome HD setup only to be foiled by an update that throws my guide content out of aspect ratio.
Is there a workaround for this issue? Any word on a fix coming?

Stretching the existing image is a major regression to me. The picture has gone from fully accurate in the intended aspect ratio, to a skewed aspect ratio that cannot be corrected. The "arguement" that this is in preparation for a full 16:9 Guide is not one I am making, it is one I have seen posted (mostly on other forums) by people that appear to have contacts within Verizon and actual Verizon employees. But I do agree with you, I see no real value to stretching the existing Guide, seems they could just deliver the true 16:9 Guide when it is ready.
I am not sure I understand your issue with stretching the image in the Guide. Do you really watch that image while you are in the Guide? Of course I can't see what you are seeing, but I surely don't, I look at the Guide to see what I want to view, and I pretty much never, ever look at the little image.
I guess I am not surprised there is no toggle, although with what they are now delivering it would probably be nice. But once they have a full 16:9 Guide option there will not be any need for a toggle it seems to me, so putting one in would be extra development work that would be wasted. Just my opinion of course.....
Anyway, I hope you do report your issue with this implementation, if you and others do, maybe, just maybe, Verizon will do something about it.

Stretching issues making movie in imovie 5.0 from i phone 3gs footage

Hi guys. I've got no idea what I'm doing video wise so simple answers would be great please. I've tried to research online but it got me more confused!
I've filmed some footage on my iphone 3Gs both in landscape and portrait. I'm trying to import it into imovie 5.0 (old skool I know) to edit it all together. When I do so it stretches and looks a bit rubbish unless I convert it to mpeg4 in which case the quality obviously gets a lot worse. How can I bring in clips without this happening, I've tried numerous different settings in imovie and have downloaded mpeg streamclip but with no real joy.

In iMovie, SHARE/TO iTUNES using the Mobile preset.
Your Movie should be in the Movies tab of itunes.
To sync it to your phone, connect your phone via USB cable. In the iPhone section of iTunes, select the Video tab. You will see TB Shows. Under that will be Movies. Put a check mark by Sync Movies. Then put a check mark by your specific movie that you want to sync.
Then click the sync button.

Aggregator – TOC stretching issues

Hi all,
I have four captivate projects that I’m loading via the Aggregator. (master4agtest, agtestPart1, agtestPart2, agtestPart3). When I publish the aggregator project as a swf or a Windows executable the following happens:
The TOC stretches vertically past the bottom of the swf files.
With the swf output files, I noticed that when I open each htm file separately they look like I expect them to look, that is, the bottom of the TOC is flush with the playbar. When I open the aggregated htm file, I get what you see above.
Is there a way to prevent the TOC from stretching in the aggregated htm file? Is there a setting I'm missing somewhere? Why does it do this?
I’m using Captivate 5.0.1.624 on Windows XP. I’ll be happy to post/share files if it will help!

I never really used the Aggregator myself, but I did a search here on the forums and it's pretty clear that you can't do anything at all to modify the way the aggregator works.
Apparantly it's not possible to remove the aggregator TOC and it's not possible to have the expander icon or make the TOC smaller.

Blurry Skype Profile Picture

I've yet to see any legitimate fixes for this. With this new client I'm now forced to use, I seem to be expericing this bug/issue. When I encountered this in the past, I just downgraded a version and waited until a newer version came out that I didn't experience this issue with.
Now that Skype is forcing people to use this one specific version (and future newer ones), I'm at a loss that this bug is still not properly fixed.
Also any responses about the image resolution, image quality, image file extention - no. I've always had a HQ Skype profile image, I'm not trying to upload a picture from a potato that's 60x60. It's not a stretching issue, it's not a resolution issue, it's a Skype issue. I've never had this problem before and I've always had perfectly HQ images as my profile picture, when I rarely did have these issues, it was the versions fault after I upgraded - not mine. Upgrading past that version or below that version gave me crystal clear profile pictures again and I never changed what I was doing or how I got them to be HQ.
Now that I'm being forced to use this new version, I'd like to know if there are any fixes for this issue or are people who also have this issue (and have had it for awhile now - a simple google search will show you how far back this issue has occured) have to endure this until a new version comes out that hopefully does not carry on with the said bug?
I've tried uploading the image at full resolution, smaller resolution, and from my phone. Since I'm no longer able to use portable Skype apps that are lower than the newest version, I'm unable to utilize that fix. I saw someone say uploading it from an iPhone works - I do not have an iPhone. There was another solution about not using Windows 8 Desktop version - I use Windows 7 therefore I am unable to utilize that fix either.
Has anyone found a work around for this? A fix? Anything?

Okay, this is just pure annoying. I have a professional group on Skype, because most are used to Skype over Google Hangouts. I've had this group for a very long time. Over the years, we've upgraded the logo, and each time, we've made a Group Profile logo in Adobe Illustrator, as a high DPI Vector image.
Well, for the past like year, our logo, no matter what resolution it's in (96X96), (480X480), hell the full on 1920X1920, and all variants I can think of between still leaves the image blurry. I've even created a pure black and white version of the logo, to see if color support was the cause. It's still blurry. I've uploaded from one of our Mac's (OSX 10.7), Windows 7 Pro, Windows 8.1 Pro, Windows XP Pro, Android (Moto X Gen 1), iPHone 6 Plus (latest OS), and it's STILL BLURRY.
This is a seriously high quality logo, yet Skype makes it garbage for all of the professionals in my Group to see. No matter how I crop it, change it, upload it and from where, it's still frigging Blurry.
So as long as I use Skype, my brand will always look like retro-grade Windows 98 First Edition trash. Thank you Microsoft for never fixing this. I really appreciate the aggravation.
I've attached a sample logo (that isn't of my brand, or of my brands purpose). This sample is JPG that I just tried, as I was thinking maybe changing the image to something completely pointless may stop it from being blurry. It's still blurry. It's not any particular resolution, it's just a simple image to push home the point. It looks higher quality when full size, but in Skype, it looks like this:

Change Flex Time Original Detected Tempo?

When activating flex time on an audio track it looks like Logic goes by whatever tempo is currently active for the project to define what the original tempo is for that region of audio. Is there a way to tell Logic that the region has a different tempo after it has already been scanned with flex time?
I ask this because on occasion I will mix radio shows that use whole songs and I mix them in time to move with tempo changes for various songs. Sometimes I will be off by a small percentage as to what the actual bpm for a song is when activating flex time on a track. Because that is off, it won't match what the project tempo really is. I will then have to rename the original audio file to make Logic think it's a different file and then re-do the process with flex time. I would like to be able to change the source tempo for the region that has already been flex timed so that I won't have to keep re-importing the same audio to rescan it again and again with flex time.

I've been dealing with this today.
I needed to go from 87bpm to 89bpm. Set the tempo to 89bpm and turned flex time on and of course realized that I had to be in 87 for it to lock properly to the grid. I unticked the flextime box and went back to 87 and everything stretched. I then deleted all the markers (as there was not a rescan option) which solved the stretch issue but as there is no option to rescan I can't get any markers up. This upsets me deeply. This is about to give me an ulcer..
There needs to be an option to rescan for transient markers.

Uprezzing DV to HD

So...in this project that I am doing (The Mexican American War...airdate Sept 29, 2006 @ 8:00 PM ET/PT) I had three stock footage shots. I knew that I'd only be able to get this footage on SD tapes, so I was planning to uprez these when it came time.
Well, it came time so we ordered the three shots (film shots of 19th century sailboats) and requested them as DVCPRO 50 (since I had access to a DVCPRO HD deck). The other option was Digitbeta, but DVCPRO 50 is practically the same quality, and as I said, we had access to the deck...
WELL...I go to the dub facility, pick up the tape, attempt to capture at DV 50...and can't. Dropped frames ALL over the place. Hmmm...OK. Well, huh. Let me try as DVCPRO HD via HD SDI...nope...wouldn't do it. (Did I mention that AJ-HD 1200 decks are tempramental and complex? thot so). Hmm....OK, lets try DV/NTSC....BINGO! But...man...that isn't what I wanted. Now I have to take a DV quality shot (THREE!) and put them not only into a DVCPRO HD 720p project, but uprez them again to 1080p.
Well yuck.
I tried dropping them into the timeline and resizing...eew. No no no. OK...that won't do. Hmmm, I heard great things about INSTANT HD, let me get the demo. OK...dropped it on and...hey, why did the sides shrink instead of expand? Let me look at the documentation for this...alright, I can't find any. Must be available when you buy it. Well, I don't want to unless I know what it does. So...alternatives.
Compressor.
Using Compressor I choose the ADVANCED CONVERSION option and see DVCPRO HD 720p60 at 59.94. I'll choose that as the footage is 29.97 and will convert frame for frame. I did so...and interestingly the image widened...it stretched it horizontally. Fine for me, I am just using long distance ship shots. And...LOOK AT THAT! All that aliasing you get on the DV has been smoothed out! SWEET!
I had one shot that I slow-mo'd in the show, but FCPs slow-motion leaves something to be desired. So I took the 59.94 clip...duplicated it, opened Cinema Tools and conformed it to 23.98. Done...sweet slow motion.
Hmmm...but still, the quality is a little off and doesn't match the Varicam shots we have. Not much to do about that. But I can try to treat it enough that it is SUPPOSED to look different. I grab the Nattress Film Effects and dropa Bleach Bypass on it...adjusted it here and there, then a Magic Bullet Misfire Grain, cut the preset in half.
Wow...that didn't look half bad. Rendered...walked away for 14 min (23 seconds of footage with Misfire Grain)...and returned to find a great couple shots that blend with the other footage well (easily spotted as different, but recognizable as shot on film, and added effects to rough it up to hide the DV quality).
When this is over I will do a write up and show pictures.
Mind you, this won't work for everything. I still have to figure out the horizontal stretching issues.

Issue with the last column stretching in ADF table

There is an issue wherein when I try stretching the last column of the ADF table to reduce its width it does stretch. But whenever I try stretching it back to this original position it doesn't despite having columnstretching attribute set to multiple and assign widths in percentages to columns . When I set the columnstretching attribute to none, the last column does stretch back and forth but on page load the table does not stretch to its full width despite having styleClass="AFStretchWidth". Now I dont want to be assigning fixed width in pixels to the columns. I would want the last column to stretch back and forth with columnstretching="multiple" and styleClass="AFStretchWidth". I see the same issue on components demo page as well. Tag Guide

If you are trying that each column gets equally stretched based on the browser, its not possible as adf doesn't supports that.
If your table is not stretching use styleClass="AFStretchWidth".
But if all your columns are not stretching you can only try setting column widths + columnStretching property (where you can specify which column to stretch to fill all the spaces)

Adobe Reader preferences issue, text stretched and zoomed in.

I have a user with Adobe Reader 11.0.2 installed and cannot change his preferences and always receives a "Screen reader" prompt when opening a PDF. The window is stretched accross the screen and the only way to close it is Tab - Enter. The preferences are the same way, theres no way to check the settings because the window is too zoomed in and the text is too large. I have already tried uninstalling it and reinstalling, deleted all the folders and reg keys to do a clean install as well as under multiple profiles. Same issue each time. Has anyone else seen this issue?
Any advice would be great.

Camera issue - stretch marks - Z1 in M mode, 8MP, iso 800-3200, indoor, hi-shutter speed

I tried to read some pages of the forum, but cannot find the similar issues. I am quite surprised if this issue isn't discovered since 6 months. (or it is common not a problem? please correct me.)
As mentioned in captioned, when in high iso and high shutter speed, there are serious stretch marks. The higher the more visible. Please refer to the photos below:

From the Photos above, it is shown that my Z1 cannot take any photo properly INDOOR. When the light is stronger enough (in office/ factory/ laboratory), there are stretch marks even in ISO-100!
I had tried several Z1(s), from my collegues, friend, retail shop and even the display model in Sony's Customer Service Centre (Hong Kong), they all have this problem. The staff of Sony's Centre told me that all the Z1 have this problem and therefore they cannot replace / help.
I had tried with other cell phone / digital camera / DSLR, they do not have this problem. This is not common.
It is believed that Sony is professional in digital camera technology (refer to A7, A7R), and the 20M pixel DC quality camera is the selling point of Z1 and may be Z2. There should be an solution for this issue.

From photos FJ-1 to FJ-3 by Fuji DC, no matter how high ISO and fast shutter speed, there is no stretch line in photo by Fuji DC. There means it is technically feasible to fix the stretch line problem.
From photos N1-1 to N1-2 by Google Nexus One, there are stretch lines only when ISO-1250 but very light and colourless. It seems more acceptable.
From photos Z1-1 to Z1-2 by Xperia Z1, stretch lines appear from ISO-200 to ISO-3200 and they are bold, dark and colour like stain. It is certainly unacceptable...
I hope I can get a solution on this issue. I wonder if other Z1 owners got the same problem?

Firefox issue, IView doesn't stretch entire screen

Hi there,
we have a problem displaying iviews within firefox. The Iview will not stretch to use the full page in firefox, so the application is looking terribly crippled.
The (portal) footer is displayed in the middle of the screen. the space underneath is blanc. We think that the page template used is not correct, but can I find this / modify it?
Is there another possibility which can cause our problem (a conflict with Firefox for example?)

The firefox version used is 2.0 fresh download and clean install.
In our local development environment, everything works nice, but in our development environment the screens are crappy.
I checked Sap versions both ldev and dev are (SAP 7 SR 10)
The portal theme installed is exactly the same in both machines (theme designed for SR10)
So we suspect some other configuration problems, but we don't know what. The Iframe which is displayed within the portal starts as a small box, and should grow in size when we open a bigger application within this. The sizing goes well in IE but not in FF.

DR-5020 Stretching Image issue

Hi All,
I just replaced all of the rollers in my Canon DR-5020 Document scanner and now it stretches the image. Does anyone have an idea on what could be stretching the image?

Stretched images are usually caused by worn rollers. Since you have recently replaced the rollers, this indicates that the rollers may have not been installed correctly. It is recommended that the rollers for the imageFORMULA DR-5020C be installed by a Canon Authorized Service Technician.

Weird LCD stretch ratio issue

I have an LG w2261vp (21.5 1920x1080) and it's been great but this morning I woke up my G5 (I use deep sleep at night) and at first all looked normal, went away for a few minutes while it checked for email and such.
Came back and the screen looked weird, it was stretched 1280x1024 or something. Checked the display setting and the 1920x1080 and all widescreen options had vanished. At first I thought it was the screen it's self.
I ended up putting it back to sleep, woke up and all was fine. Not sure why it did this but has it happened to anyone else?

Touch wood that it was a once off weird thing and won't happen again.

I'm running 10.5.8 and have no idea what video card it has, 128Mb I think as it's the standard card that came with the G5 at the time.

Time Stretch Render issue in Premiere Elements 11

I have been using PE10 for a year and have just installed PE11.
In PE11 when I render my footage from my Go-Pro camera, which is 1920x1080, the rendered footage details on the hard disk are 960x480 at a bitrate of 6480kbps?
Any suggestions why not 1920x1080?
It stayed 1920x1080 at bitrate 25920kbps in PE10.

You're talking about rendering your timeline, right?
In order to speed up previews on your timeline, Adobe sometimes renders high-def video on the timeline at a slightly reduced resolution or quality.
This has no effect on your output video, which is based on a combination of your Project Settings and your Publish & Share selection.

FDK: F_ApiImport shows a dialog upon import of SGML entities.
When importing an SGML fragment by reference using F_ApiImport, FrameMaker displays a dialog asking whether the text inset should be updated automatic or manually. This setting should be controlled from import-parameters.
Currently there is no way of creating a client that imports a large number of SGML text-insets without having a user sitting by the keyboard and clicking OK for each imported entity.
