Stretched images inside DreamWeaver CS6

Hello. I'm a newbie to this forum. Hope someone can help me out there. Just upgraded from CS3 to CS6 and noticed my images are stretched inside DreamWeaver.

When you select one of these images in DW's Design view, and look at the property inspector, do you see the height/width values in bold type with an array of icons to the right (see image)?
If so, just click on the middle icon to reset the dimensions to the native image size. Somehow during the change to CS6, these images were resized in design view. This will reverse that.

    Hello
    in addition to Jon's hint, I'll send you some links to nice sliders (have fun with the different representations ):

    You only need to use the source code to implant these shows there where you want. In my eyes it would be the best that you use first a very new and blank DW file to perform (maybe in LiveView) the one or the other.

  • Placing an Image in Dreamweaver CS6 and Mavericks

    To place an image in a web page, I have always been able to drag the file (say jpeg) from the Macintosh Finder and drop it into the web page.  I'm using Dreamweaver CS6 and it worked fine with Lion, but stopped working with Mavericks.  Can anyone tell me how to turn this capability back on?

    No image is placed.  Nothing blows up.  And I can't find a preference setting to turn this on. It's a mystery to me why this is happening.
    I write software for the Mac (WildTools) so I'm pretty good at debugging things, but this has be stumped.

  • Saving Images in Dreamweaver CS6

    I have imported a menu that I created in Fireworks CS6, into dreamweaver cs6, I save to the remote server and you can't see anything.
    Same thing with Bridge CS6. I create a slideshow and import into dreamweaver cs6 and still nothing. Or I will simply put a jpeg or png picture file and the image won't show. Please help
    I just need to know how to save the different images/menu bars in dreamweaver cs6 to the remote server, and I would like it to show online automatically. What do I do
    www.uniquehairytage.com   (this is one of the sites I am talking about)

    I can only assume that it's the dodgy code that exports from Fireworks because your images are uploaded and in the correct place.
    Can you copy all of the code below and paste it into a new Dreamweaver document (you'll have to open code view to do this) save it as test.html and upload it to your remote server and then look at it in a browser and see what happens?

  • Optimizing images | Learn Dreamweaver CS6 | Adobe TV

    In Dreamweaver CS6, Adobe has streamlined the integration between Photoshop and Dreamweaver. Learn how to take images directly from Photoshop to Dreamweaver. Then, see how to optimize the images and edit them in Photoshop using Adobe's round-trip editing feature.

    warlock7,
    I tested this out in Dreamweaver CS6, but in all cases the drag-and-drop was functioning properly.
    If you create a new document using one of the included layouts (e.g. 3-column liquid) and insert an image in it, are you able to drag it around?

  • Rollover images in Dreamweaver CS6 show blue frame in Internet Explorer...

    Hi
    I've created some very simple rollover buttons in Photoshop and placed them into Dreamweaver as rollover images to use as a navigation bar.
    They appear correct in all browsers except Internet Explorer - they appear with a blue frame around?  The table boarder is set to 0...
    My Dreamweaver knowledge is very limited so appologies if there is a very simple solution to my problem :-)
    Many thanks for any suggestions.

    Thank you for your help - this works :-)
    Sorry about my lack of knowledge :-)
    Thanks again!

  • Center Spry Basic Image Slideshow on the webpage in Dreamweaver Cs6   ?

    Hi, I'm working on a Website for a client in Dreamweaver CS6: northstarconservancy.org. How do I center the Spry Basic Image Slideshow on the pages? I've tried a few options and nothing has been effective, anyone? Thanks, Amanda

    It would be easier to give you exact instructions if we could see your page. Do you have a link you could share?
    In general, place a div on your page and give it the basic css for centering...
    #divid {
         width:800px; (you can change the 800 to whatever width your slideshow uses)
         margin:auto;
    Then place your slideshow within that div in your html...
    <div id="divid"> all your spry slideshow info </div>
    As long as you haven't used APDivs, or position:absolute on your site, which you should never do unless absolutely necessary (pun kindof intended), the div that the slideshow resides in will be centered within it's container.

  • How can I bring back image Align options in Dreamweaver CS6 (CSS not an option)?

    Why were the options to align images from the Property bar removed in Dreamweaver CS6? When CSS isn't an option (email, CMSs, etc ), what options are available to better edit the inline HTML code?
    For this purpose, is it better to revert to an older version of Dreamweaver?

    You can write inline code in any version of Dreamweaver, but you need to hand-code it. Versions later than CS2 or Dreamweaver MX don't really support inline code generation, as the idea for websites was to generate external style sheets.
    Here's what I do for emails: I use MailChimp. Their on-line email generators do write good code that is readable in any email application and they also allow the user to subscribe to a text-only email.
    If you still have your old copy of Dreamweaver MX or CS-2 that supports in-line code generation, keep using that. It will coexist nicely with Dreamweaver CS6 and you can have both open at the same time. As long as it continues to work correctly on your operating system, you're good to go.

  • Dreamweaver cs6 cannot publish background images

    i have two pages onto which i downloaded background images.  they really make the pages pop and i love the look but for some reason they will not upload and publish.  i do not have the same problem with other photographs.  go daddy says everything is fine on their end and it is a problem with the scripting on dreamweaver's end.  i use dreamweaver cs6.

    Ask in the DW forum and provide more exact info, source code and screenshots. Your description is far too vague.

  • Dreamweaver CS6-  jquery and jquery cycle to have 5 images slide (as a fade) in a banner code failure- help?

    Dreamweaver CS6- I am trying to use jquery and jquery cycle to have 5 images slide (as a fade) in a banner. I thought I got the code right but it stacked the images. I suspect I have the incorrect code for the position or I haven't properly added cycle.

    1. You can use a constructor to change the defaults. The default values can be seen in jquery.cycle2.js starting at line 659 as per the following. As you can see at the bottom, the code automatically runs the slideshow(s)
    // @see: http://jquery.malsup.com/cycle2/api
    $.fn.cycle.defaults = {
        allowWrap:        true,
        autoSelector:     '.cycle-slideshow[data-cycle-auto-init!=false]',
        delay:            0,
        easing:           null,
        fx:              'fade',
        hideNonActive:    true,
        loop:             0,
        manualFx:         undefined,
        manualSpeed:      undefined,
        manualTrump:      true,
        maxZ:             100,
        pauseOnHover:     false,
        reverse:          false,
        slideActiveClass: 'cycle-slide-active',
        slideClass:       'cycle-slide',
        slideCss:         { position: 'absolute', top: 0, left: 0 },
        slides:          '> img',
        speed:            500,
        startingSlide:    0,
        sync:             true,
        timeout:          4000,
        updateView:       0
    // automatically find and run slideshows
    $(document).ready(function() {
        $( $.fn.cycle.defaults.autoSelector ).cycle();
    2. To center the slideshow, merely center the container as in
    div.cycle-slideshow {
        width: 1000px;
        margin: auto;

  • Dreamweaver cs6 images

    I have recently started my very first webdesign project using Dreamweaver CS6 (1st time user of Dreamweaver. Awesome by the way) however, the images ive loaded on the site server, don't show on the live site (this only happens on Internet Explorer, Google chrome shows my images just fine and so does firefox).  What could i possibly be doing wrong???
    This is a  XHTML 1.0 Transitional

    File > SaveAs > test.html.
    Upload your test page & dependant files to your remote site so we can look at it.
    Images come in 2 types: CMYK for print and RGB for web.  If your images were not optimized for the web, it's possible they aren't web friendly yet and that's why you can't see them in all browsers.  Open images in Photoshop.  Hit File > Save for Web as optimized jpg. Adjust quality to reduce file size.
    Save them to your local site folder. I like to save images to an Images folder in the local site for organization reasons, but that's up to you.
    If your site is properly defined in DW, the code for images should look something like this:
         <img src="path/image_name.jpg">
    If it looks like this, something's wrong with your site definition:
         <img srce="file:///username/documents/path/image_name.jpg">

  • Background images in fluid grid layouts Dreamweaver CS6

    How can I get a background image png or jpg original size 1040w by 840h to scale down in the tablet and mobile layouts in Dreamweaver CS6 fluid grid layout?

    Adding one of these in your CSS should do the trick...
    background-size:contain;
    or
    background-size:cover;
    Depending on the layout of your background image, one may work better than the other.
