Stretched movie after rendering in H.264

Hi All,
My composition size is 640x380. I render it in H.264 format and the rendered movie is somewhat stretched with black bands on the top and the bottom. If I select .avi format, it renders fine. What am I doing wrong? should I change pixel aspect ration to 16x9 in H.264 format settings or keep it the same as in composition settings (square pixels)?
Thanks!

> My composition size is 640x380.
That's a very strange set of frame dimensions.
>  I render it in H.264 format and the rendered movie is somewhat
stretched with black bands on the top and the bottom.
The H.264 format only permits a limited, constrained set of frame sizes. In After Effects CS4, these constraints were communicated in the Comments field of the H.264 Export Settings dialog box. In After Effects CS5, if your settings don't match one of the sets of settings allowed by the H.264 specification, then a warning icon in the Output Module Settings dialog box appears, and After Effects tells you what it's going to do to make the video fit.

I use a Full HD 1080i SONY Semi professional cam (2,930.00 $). I use AVCHD file format which is accepted by premiere and after effects. I could convert it but I would not like to spend time since this kind of format is accepted by the software.
I don't have these problems all the time. Eventually I managed to export the clip properly. I think it has to do with temporal memory. I don't know. I have to check all the memory data for best peformance and best rendering. I think I have already done this but I will dig a little deeper in this..

  • After Effects change size of the Movie after rendering mp4

    Hi,
I created a new composition and wanted to render it as an mp4 file. The composition has a size of 1500px x 1000px, after rendering, the mp4 file has a size of 750px x 576px - everthing is distorted. I don't know what happened, because everything was prechecked because the size matters.
Is someone know what happend and what I can do, to prevent such a mistake? (it is my first After Effects project ever - I'm a nube)
    Thank you Dan

mp4 is a compression format based on specific blocks of pixels and the legal sizes are set by the codec, there is nothing you can do except pick another codec if you must have 1500 X 1000 as a final size. Why did you pick that size? If you must deliver an mp4 then you should be working with standard sizes for your compositions and they should be square pixels... Always square pixels for mp4.

  • Blues "flashes" in .mov after rendering in iphoto 6

I recently upgraded iphoto 6 when prompted, and have rendered the first .mov from a slideshow since the upgrade. Upon playback, there are blue flashes that appear randomly throughout. I have re-rendered, deleted and recreated the slideshow, run a disk utility, etc., but the blue flashes still appear. This never happened before I upgraded, and I have done many slideshows. I got a new monitor, which is the only other variable. What is the problem? Help!

  • Titles & Graphics Move after rendering

I am new to Adobe Premiere Elements 9, and seem to have random issues on video's, which do not happen all the time.
In the first screenshot from the first video below, You can see the logo, fade and name are all lined up properly
After the video renders, regardless of the format, I end up with something like below. I am not sure why the text shifts outside of the green bar from where it was originally placed.
Any suggestions or insight as to why this happens?
    Thanks

    Welcome to the forum.
I have seen similar, where the Project's Preset did not match the Source Footage (the Video Clips), and things get mis-aligned.
Titles are dependent on the Project Preset for things like Frame Size and PAR (Pixel Aspect Ratio).
Check your Project Preset settings for all attributes vs the Source Footage, just to get that out of the way.
Next, if one has done any animation on the Title (Titles in your case probably), I would look closely at the Animation Presets, if used, or the animation Keyframes, if one did not use an Animation Preset.
Can you also include a screen-cap of the portion of the Timeline, where your Title/Titles appear? I would actually do two, where one would be with the Text Title Selected, and the Effects Control Panel (Edit Effects with a Clip Selected will open that), and the fixed Effect>Motion twirled open. The second would be with the Shape Title Selected and again, the Effects Control Panel open to Effect>Motion.
If you did not manually animate the Titles, then please list the exact steps and settings that you used, plus a description of the Title/Titles.
Thanks for the info and good luck,
    Hunt

  • Transformed video right edge stretched after rendering?

I have tried all kinds of things and searched forums.  I did find one guy who had the same issue on another forum, but no one had any answers.
First off, this is a project that I use every week, I just change out the clips and move keyframes around to match events in the videos.
I'm doing a super simple transform to make the entire video smaller so it reveals a graphic behind it.  It's worked for weeks, now after rendering the right edge of the video like expands (stretches) to the edge of the screen.  Again, it only looks this way after a render.  Before rendering, the motion is fine.
I have tried trashing all the renders.  I reset all key frames.  I even pulled a new clip in and started from scratched with the motion on that clip.
I'm going to try copying everything to a new sequence, but I doubt that will work.
I have probably had more problems with 10.0.4 than even version .1.
    Any ideas?

Never mind... I trashed my prefs and that seemed to fix it.  At least for now.

  • After rendering a movie, the DVD project screen doesn't display

    Q. After rendering a movie, my DVD project screen won't display?

Hi and welcome to the forums!
Sorry to hear about your mishap.
Do you have a backup using desktop manager? If so, your data is in there. Had you recently sync'd with outlook?
Did water get into your BB? If so, place your BB in an open container of UNCOOKED white rice and set in a warm place for a few days. Rice should absorb the water.

  • Premiere Degrading Quality (after rendering) of Animation Codec mov's and 4444 Codec mov's, which were made from SWF files, originally exported out of After Effects

I am making a cartoon, which was created in FLASH,

Then I put those Mov's into Premiere. Everything looks crisp until I render. Once rendering is done, the video quality degrades. Here's a screen shot of Premiere:
On the left is the source MOV (exported from AE), on the right is the timeline viewer (after rendering). The quality on the right is degraded. Help?
If I use MP4 versions, exported out of Flash, through Media encoder, quality is not degraded.

It was easy and quick to create my MOV's out of AE, which is why I did it this way. I'm exporting to MOV's so I can edit quicker in Premiere. I find editing to sound in AE really difficult, and I don't edit in Flash (employees provide SWF files to me).
Here is sequence settings in Premiere (these setting were created by dragging an MOV into the sequence and choosing "change settings" to match clip settings.

  • Hey, need help concerning movie quality after rendering;

I'm working with PE7 and Windows XP. I try to insert to my movie vob file (decrypted from my DVD) wchich quality is really perfect  what I can see it on any player. As soon as I import this file to PE7 the quality, even after rendering, is terrible low . I mean it is not "smooth" and you can see many single pixels on the monitor.  Interesting is: some parts of file is good as oryginal some bad with pixels. Where is a problem: settings, hardware or may be something different ??

Have you saved the VOBs ripped from your DVD-VIDEO and saved them to your computer hard drive and then are bringing them into Premiere Elements Get Media/Files and Folders? Or, are you following the recommended procedure of placing the DVD-VIDEO DVD disc in the DVD burner drive tray and using Premiere Elements Get Media/"DVD (Camcorder or PC DVD Drive") and the Media Downloader to do the job?
Either way, some people get excellent results. Others do not. For those do not, the remedy is converting the VOBs to DV AVI with the free download MPEG Streamclip
    http://www.squared5.com/
and then bring the DV AVI version into Premiere Elements via its Get Media/Files and Folders.
Have we determined that your Premiere Elements project preset (new project dialog) = NTSC DV Standard or Widescreen or the PAL counterpart? And, have we determined that you export will be as NTSC Standard or Widescreen or its PAL counterpart?
The answer is 99.99999999% in that MPEG Streamclip software conversion.

  • IDVD crash after rendering for 1 movie

I created several DVD so far it was perfect. I am using the same method and format or codec that I was using for all previous movies. This one seems perfect within iDVD but when I try to burn disk image it quits unexpectedly after rendering the project. All the files are stored onto an external firewire HD like the other movies. At this point I have rebuilt the movie from scratch, rebuild the iDVD project from scratch and I don't know where to go anymore. This is what I have in the log file:
    Exception Type: EXCBADACCESS (SIGSEGV)
    Exception Codes: KERNINVALIDADDRESS at 0x000000001e73f014
    Crashed Thread: 29
    Could anyone please help

What worked for me was to copy the iDVD project + assets to the local harddrive. Then it would sucesfully render (in the background) and was I able to save a disk image (on the firewire harddisk, because of lack of disk space!). So it seems FireWire related. Possibly a bug that will be fixed in the much anticipated OS X 10.5.3 update. I will do some more tests, with other harddisks, connecting with FW 400 and USB 2. Or Startup from a OS on the external FW drive.
I'm not surprised FW400 is slightly more stable but besides that it is always better to have your largest and faster HD as your primary boot volume since this is the drive that will do most of the rendering and encoding for iDvd and /or DVDSP.
I was trying to explain this on an earlier post to another forum member. Not sure if you happened to read it but the link is here:

help after rendering when I'm mastering a small video segment is duplicated elsewhere in the timeline, apparently I do some movement

Shane is trying to find out if you're working with material that's not in a fcp friendly format, like h264.  It's also possible that your sequence is corrupt.  Create a new sequence with the same settings, make the old sequence active, select all (command-a) copy (command-c), make the new sequence active and paste (command-v)

  • Colors in an image comes out different after rendering comp

Hey guys, having an annoying problem.
For a project, I've imported a jpeg file that I made on Photoshop. The colors look perfectly fine on the RAM previews and stuff but after I render it, just that specific jpg image comes washed out. It should be dark grey / almost black but after rendering into .mov that image becomes medium grey. It's noticeably more washed out and lighter. All the other colors in that image are also noticeably lighter as well.
Any ideas whats going on? I have set my working space to my monitors color profile and I have proofed the colors after saving on Photoshop.
Thanks! This is driving me nuts!

I send the composition to the Render Queue and do it from there. I have my render settings to "Best", and output module to "Lossless".
Regarding the codec, I'm not sure about that. How can I find out? Sorry this is my first time really with AE.
    EDIT: FIXED!
On the output module, I had it set to Quicktime before. I changed that to H.264 and the colors were fine after that. Whew!
Thanks for all your help Rick!

  • Frame Position Jumps After Rendering

I'm making frame-by-frame position adjustments using the Motion tab(Center and Rotation), but some frames jump position after rendering, mainly vertically. Although the Center and Rotation values do not change, the frame still moves. Anyone have an idea why this is happening? Thx.

I'd probably try deleting the errant keyframes in the Motion tab, then rebuilding them, as long as it's an i frame QT compressed video format.
What are the sequence settings and source material properties? all DV? or HDV? or? h.264?

  • Sound problems after rendering

    Hi,
Being that I have Premiere Pro 7.0, I am not too sure how  much help I will get, but i was hoping that someone here could still  help if all possible. Here is my problem. I thought I start practicing  developing video lessons for 3d software. These lessons would be created  using a screen captureing program, called camStudio. In my first  lesson, my first try doing the entire lesson as one video, I found out  that the video file size exceeded CamStudio's exporter file size  allowance when trying to save out to Microsoft DV 1 AVI file. I then  decided to split the lesson into 2, but final compose it as one video in  Premiere Pro 7.0. Since the lesson was broken up into 2 screen captured  videos, I thought it would make things easier if each screen captured  video was in its own simulation. So, in other words,  I have created 2  simulations in one project, and then I had nested both of them into the  3rd simulation. For example, simulation 1 was called lesson1 part a, and  simulation 2 was named lesson1 part b, and the third simulation was  called lesson1. Once I had everything setup, at first everything was  working fine, meaing I could see the video and hear the sound tracks.  However, after I choose to render the sequence using Microsoft DV11 AVI,  I do not get any sound, and yet I made sure that the exporter exports  both the video and audio. Furthermore, after rendering the project,  going back to Premiere Pro's project, and pressing play, I get the  error.... Disk Write Error: Verify drive connection, available disk  space and disk  access privileges
However, when I go inside  simulation 1 or simulation 2, I still hear their sound tracks. One other  thing I have noticed is that I get the sound back in the project if I  move the orginal simulations into a new simulation. By doing that, I am  then able to recover the project,. but if I choose to render again, the  same process happens all over again.
    Does anyone Have  any ideas?
    My Specs
    Adobe Premiere Pro 7.0
    Windows  XP SP3
    CPU 3.0GHz processor
    RAM 512MB

so are you saying that the problem could be comming from how I did my recording with CamStudio? Not to change the subject, but you see, I am kind of lost. My goal is to provide some free video lessons. I was thinking my final encoded videos will be in DivX or XVid. CamStudio does offer users to compress to thise types of format. Howeveer, due to owning a very cheap microphone, those kinds that sit on your desktop, is causing me to have the biggest problem, since there is a good amount of background hissing noise in my recordings. So, I have been using both CamStudio for the screen capturing and Audacity to do the voice recording. Then in Audacity, I try my best of tuning up the voice and removing the background hissing noise. Once that is finished, I then need some sort of video editing software that allows me to put the video and my voice recodring together as well as splicing areas of the lesson where I stutter or slurr my speach a bit, which can be easily fixed in Adobe Premire Pro. However,  my version of Premiere does not offer XVid or DivX encoding. I was thinking of using VirtualDub, but I really do not want to have 5 programs, just so that I can fix all of my problems, not to mention I have no $$$$ left. So is there a free better way?
