Stretching the Z axis

Many 3D geological models and digital terrains are often viewed with an exaggerated z-axis to make subtle features more obvious.
Is is possible in Acrobat 3d to exaggerate the z-axis? It would be great if the end-user of the pdf could adjust the vertical exaggeration to different values.

But wen i am doing preview,my chart area is moving towards left.
Can we fix the y axis ,I mean the area of chart should not move.Only X axis can be stretched according to the number of months we have in x axis ?

According to your description, you want to have your Y-axis fixed in the bar chart area and the X-axis grows from from left to Right. Is my understanding correct?
In Reporintg Services, when creating a chart, we can set the DynamicWidth of the chart which can make our chart expands dynamically with the numbers of categories. In this scenario, we also need to ennable the CustomPosition of chart, set a specific

Problem with the Z axis...blurred objects...what'd I miss?

Howdy,
I've got some vector objects in Flash that start out real small--like 20-30 pixels square. When I change their position on the Z axis to 'zoom in' on them, the larger they get, the blurrier they get.
When I just tween the x/y size, and not move the z axis they look fine.
For example draw a 20x20 square on the stage.
Convert it to a movie clip so that I can 3D it.
Scale it up to 300 pixels.
Looks fine.
Adjust the Z axis by 1.
Blllluuuurrrrrrrrr.
Did I miss a setting somewhere or is this just a limitation that needs to be worked around?

How can I change the Y axis to show my values in a descending order in Numbers. eg zero at the top and the maximum value at bottom?

I'm just about getting to grips with Numbers, but I'm stumped at the moment with this problem.
I want to show zero at the top on the (y) axis, as zero is the goal and 100 is the starting point?
can it be done? i would really appreicate some help on this.

In the table "to_chart", the cell A1 contains :
=ROUNDUP(ABS(MIN(Tableau 1 :: B:E))/10,0)*10
The cell B2 embed the formula :
=$A$1+Tableau 1 :: B2
Apply fill down and fill to the right.
On the left edge, the colored rectangle is a text block in which I inserted the label values.
Of course if you dislike this scheme, you are perfectly free to use an other application.

I want the minimum of the horizontal axis to be the first day of the month.

I have a situation where I want the minimum of the horizontal
axis(with date time axis) to be the first day of the month. I
attempt it like so:

However this first date on this axis is the last day of the
previous month for example 31 August instead of 1 September. Any
ideas how to fix?

Nikos, the only thing I can think of (off hand) is that it's
defaulting to "zero" hour on that date, if you tried:
var min:Date = new Date(max.fullYear,max.month,1,13);
Would that make it work? That would set the date to 1pm.
Have you considered defining the axis with the data you are
binding to?

Motion Tween w/ Rotation Dropping on the Y Axis

Is there a way to prevent a motion tween w/ rotation from dropping on the Y axis? Basically I used Free Transform to change the angle of a line, but it always lowers itself on the Y axis when I insert a motion tween in it.

The properties shouldn't be changing when you insert a motion tween. Could you either attach a file with the object *before* you create the tween, or let me know all the properties of the object before you insert the tween so I can try and reproduce internaly? (X, Y, rotation, scale X/Y, skew X/Y).

How can I use a timestring saved from LV as a csv spreadsheet file as the x axis of a LV chart?

I'm saving the timestring portion of a timestamp as HH:MMS along with each set of data fields to a cvs spreadsheet file, i.e. each row of the file starts with the timestring followed by data in each remaining column. The first row contains data field headings. I can read this file back into LV with no problem and can remove the header row but cannot find a way to use that timestring as the x axis of a chart graph. I have no problem graphing the data in that format within Excel itself. Can anyone help?

Check the timestamp indicator, it is trying to write your time-stamp to your time-zone, so you will need to change the time-stamp to universal time. For the time-stamp indicator it is easy enough you just need to edit the indicator to display universal time, however for a purely data sense it is a bit odd, I have never found a straight forward way to do it so I use the conversion between Time in Seconds and Date/Time to do it for me.

Why is the preview taking elements away and stretching the page?

I am running Mac Mountain Lion with Muse. I have a footer bar with an image in the middle. It shows up fine with my other pages but on the newest pages I make, it disappears and stretches the page out beyond my minimum page size.This only happens when I Preview it through Muse or a various browser. In the design portion of Muse, it looks fine. I have reset my page properties, created a fresh page, and changed the master that is applied to it, but it always does the same thing.

Hey Owlpaca, did you forget to pin it as a footer item? Yes, yes I did. Yup, forgot to pin it as a footer, that seems to fix my issue. Surprised it didn't give me issues on my early pages though.

Crystal Reports - Charts - Restricting the data points on the X-axis

Hi,
Is there a way to restrict the number of points to display on the x-axis of a crystal chart keeping the number of data points the same.
For example, if the chart plots date vs value points and the data for the chart is from 1980 to 2009. This means the data points on the x-axis appear very close to each other.
I need a way to show the chart with all data from 1980 to 2009 but limited x-axis labels. Is there a way to configure the number of labels to show on the x-axis.

"Right click on one of the x axis labels and select Group (X) Axis Options...
On the Layout tab there is an option to Skip Group Labels, check this and enter in the number of labels you want to skip". Is there a way to do this from a .NET client or via a formula field in Crystal itself. The data points is going to be dynamic, hence the requirement is to dynamically configure the "number of labels" to be skipped.

BubbleChart autoscale is not working right on the Y axis

Hi everyone,
When I'm trying to display some information on a Flex BubbleChart the bubbles are always displayed very low on the Y axis for some reason.
The auto scale on the Y axis doesn't seem to work properly. It is providing extreamly high values on the Y axis. Do any of you encountered this problem before?
How do you fix this Y axis autoscale problem without hardcoding the maximum value in the mx:verticalAxis?

There are two basic Title formats — I should say Layouts — available: Text (plain) and Paragraph. (The plain text version usually does not appear with the blue dot controls — those generally appear for the paragraph type control.)
If the Title is using a Paragraph layout, it's like having a mini version of Text Edit available inside FCPX. You can tell when you click on the text (when the title is selected) -- a rectangle will appear around the text like so:
double clicking on the text will give you the bounds controls which you can use to redefine the text area without distorting the text. Once selected, notice the button that appears in the top right corner of the canvas:
Pressing that will activate the ruler. You can right click on the ruler and add Tab Stops (left, right, center and decimal.)
So if the title uses paragraph formatting, you can create a very WYSIWYG type of display text (use the Text inspector to alter text selections within the paragraph bounds.)

I don't have LV 7 installed so I can't post the VI sorry.. here's the short answer to your question, you have to use property and method nodes from the ActiveX palette (see screen shot), item 0 is scale X, item 1 is scale Y and item 2 is scale Z.
More generally there are loads of threads dedicated to 3D graph issues, just do a forum search .

How can you rotate the labels on the category axis of a graph in Illustrator and have it stay the same when updating the graph data?

I am needing to create a line graph with dates consisting of MM/DD/YY along the category axis. I would like to rotate the labels 45 degrees and have them stay when I update the graph. I have read about manually doing it, I even made an action to make it faster, but it still seems inefficient. Is there a setting that I could use to automatically create my labels as rotated? I'm curious about why you are using 2 loops. You mentioned one is for monitoring and one is for DAQ....what do you mean by that? What is the overall goal of this piece of code. Also, I noticed that you are not closing the task. Since this is just a subset, I realize you could be closing it in your actual code, but just in case you're not.....it is very important that you close all tasks when you are down acquiring data.

How do I update the chart axis values??

I created a Gantt (bar chart) chart in Numbers for a project at work showing schedules. It looked fine, and everything worked great. I want to use that same chart, but I want to just update the data in it. I can get the bars to change, but the Y axis data (not the numbered values in the chart, but rather the the actual names out to the side of the chart) will not change. For instance....

The Tasks on the left will be the Y axis fields in a bar chart....and the dates will populate the graph. I've created my graph from this data and got it like I want it. Now let's say I want to simply change some things in the Name column:

February 1, 2013
February 15, 2013
So without creating a new chart or anything, I just want to reflect the new names in my existing chart. In Excel, when you change the value data, it updates the chart and "it just works" . I'm wanting to use Numbers for this, and I feel like this is a simple thing that I'm just missing. Help!

Jerrold....thanks for the reply. While you didn't answer my question exactly (I know I was a bit vague), you did put me on the right path. I was trying to get the Category Axis values to change on the chart whenever I updated them in the table itself. I couldn't figure out why they weren't but I think I have now.
I noticed that in the Category Axis field (Inspector) it had the actual typed names of my tasks from the table instead of the cell locations. So...."Task 1" instead of "Table 1: C7". I cleared out all of the text in the Category Axis field, which removed it from the chart. then I just clicked on the fields in the table and it populated the Category Axis blank with the table/cell info instead of the text. So now when I update one of the fields, it updates the chart because it's pulling from the cell data every time.
I'm not really sure why Number, by default, enters the text into the Category Axis when making a chart instead of putting in the corresponding cell locations, but whatever. I got it working now and should be good to go going forward, thanks for your help.
