Strikethrough color different than Font

I am trying to make a strikethrough on some words that are in white fonts on a black background. The strikethrough needs to be red. What happens when I follow Keynote manual is that when I select the word and add the strikethrough in red is also changes the word to red. I want to keep the word (fonts) in white with a red line through it. I know there is a way to accomplish this because I have done it before but I don't remember how I did it. I have tried as many combinations as I can think of without luck.

Yes, you should hae the color pallete appear, it is a little tricky to find. At the time I called Apple and they couldn't find it either and when I did find it I called them back and told them where it was and they thanked me.

  • Lightroom displays colors differently than Photoshop

Lightroom (and my image previewer - IfranView) display my image colors differently than photoshop.  This is very disturbing (why can't Adobe make this simple!)!
Image in question - see below.  Center image is Photoshop, left is Lr 4 and right is InfranView.
    Colorspace:  AdobeRGB 1998
Image color (exported the TIFF file in Lr, what is shown below):  AdobeRGB 1998
NOTE:  when I export out as sRGB, IfranView displays it correctly (I don't know why, it can't display ProPhoto correctly, but never had a problem with AdobeRGB).  Lightroom looks incorrect when viewing the TIFF, AdobeRGB JPEG and sRGB JPEG.
What is going on??  I've tried this on two computers now and it is the same problem!

The larger file is Adobe RGB and the smaller file is sRGB.  I see no difference in overall tone or color between the two files in LR 3, LR 4, LR 5, PS CS5, PS CS6, PS CC 2014, or Windows Photo Viewer which is color-managed, aside from an almost imperceptible change in the darkest blacks which I'd expect since you're converting AdobeRGB to sRGB at some point.
I can make the Adobe RGB one look like it does at the left of your first screenshot if I Assign Profile: sRGB to it in PS.
Since your monitor appears to be wide-gamut and therefore similar to Adobe RGB, I think the problem you're having is that LR thinks the monitor is sRGB for some reason, perhaps due to your switching the cables from one computer to the other without rebooting and recalibrating.  It's also possible that your profile is stored in the monitor rather than in the computer and one computer understands this and the other doesn't so you're getting double-profiling or no profiling occurring.
It sounds the your only issue is having two computers attached alternatively to one monitor without having a valid profile on each computer for that monitor and aren't restarting each computer to load that profile.  At least that is my analysis given the limited information.
I would conclude that nothing is wrong with LR or PS just the hardware connections and the color management confusion between the two computers, not your confusion, the computers'.

  • Safari shows colors different than other browsers and GoLive

Does anyone know why Safari shows colors differently than Firefox, Explorer and Opera, Mozilla and Golive?
For example if I use "websafe" colors in photoshop with 2.2 gamma and sRGBie...2.1 and save, then import into Go Live with the working space the same, North America Web/ Internet, the colors are typically darker, although occasionally they are the same.
I have tried embedded profiles and non embeded.
The difference only happens when I view the page in Safari. By the way I use a mac, GoLive CS2
This is a constant frustration. I have created several tests but have found no satisfactory results. I am in the process of creating a website for teachers who use powerbooks and safari. And this color change really restricts creative possibilities. If the same page is viewed in Firefox it looks like it does in GoLive.
    Thanks for any help,
    Kevin

    >> When no profile is in use.. Safari will assume sRGB becaus this is the web standart profile...
True on Windows Safari and other Windows browsers.
Safari on Mac and other Mac browsers 'assumes, assigns, applies' the Mac's default monitor profile to untagged color.
This is easy to proof here in the sRGB rollover:
    http://www.gballard.net/psd/go_live_page_profile/embeddedJPEGprofiles.html
If Mac Safari 'assumed' sRGB on untagged files, then the sRGB rollover will have zero change.
    +++++
    >> converting to sRGB before saving for the web ensure god color in all browseres, and JPG and PNG can be savde with color profile
Except in Mac browsers that have 1.8 monitor gamma profiled.
The Mac-specific problem with trying to match tagged graphics on matched-color background in Safari is:
    1) The color background is untagged and will Assume default Monior RGB.
    2) The tagged graphic will be Converted to Monitor RGB.
In other words, if you fill a page with 4bb93c and place a tagged sRGB image, filled with 4bb93c, the two colors won't match up in color-managed Mac web browsers like Mac Safari...however, if you untag the sRGB file, it will disappear on the page, but it will be off color depending how close Monitor RGB is to sRGB profile in Mac browsers.
Windows, on the other hand is a different beast, it Assigns sRGB to untagged color, so tagged/untagged sRGB will be good in all Windows browsers.
At least that is what I have seen here on my Windows Vista Business box.

  • Log and Transfer Color Different Than Viewer/Canvas Color. Why?

I've noticed that the preview window in Log and Transfer has different color characteristics than both the Viewer and Canvas window. Sometime I like the color in Log and Trasnfer better and sometime I like the other color better. What is going on here? Am I viewing a RAW-like version in the Log and Transfer window and if so how can I get that color to transfer into my project upon import? I'm shooting with a HVX200 and Firestore.

The image quality of the footage you see in Log and Capture and Log and Transfer is a very low res proxie...lower than that of the Canvas.
The truth is, you shouldn't trust ANY of the windows to give you a true representation of the color. Not the L&C window, not the Viewer, and not the Canvas. Only a properly calibrated monitor will...although a good TV will do a decent job as well.
The color won't transfer because it isn't different.

  • Colors Different than Cinema Display

I was trying out different desktops, and I noticed that my Cinema Display shows colors significantly brighter than my MacBook Pro (I'm in dual display mode). There seems to be hardly any contrast on the Macbook Pro compared to the Cinema Display... How do I fix this? --To elaborate, I notice the cinema display (20" by the way) shows colors more vibrantly than the MacBook Pro. The MBP looks like it has a gray cast over it (I can especially tell with the Apple desktop picture of the green curled leaf).
AHH!!! Just while writing this (actually when I turned Front Row on for a second), a dead pixel popped up on the screen!!! Can I fix this? Will Apple exchange it? It's been less than 14 days since I bought it...
    Thanks.

You would need tools like the ColorVision Spyder 2 or something similar. It requires both hardware (spyder that measures color and brightness of screen) and software. The first step would be to calibrate and profile the MBP and use it's black and white point settings for the ACD reference. Final step would then be to calibrate and profile the ACD using the MBP's black point and white point. The colors, brightness and contrast would be very close, if not visually identical.

Monitors and displays can not be visually calibrated accurately. Only a hardware and software solution is accurate for print etc.

  • Print color different than screen color

I'm a novice InDesign user. I need someone to explain to me in the most simple of terms how to get my documents printed in-house on a simple laser printer to print in the same colors as what I see on my screen when working in InDesign. Exporting to PDF or .jpg and printing still doesn't print the colors correctly. The printed colors are always darker. Thank you!

Color management is a complex subject, but if you want to get accurate color the first thing you need to is calibrate and profile your monitor (and it helps to have a high quality monitor -- cheapies just don't cut it for accurate color work). You cannot trust that what you see on screen is actually what the numbers in your file represent unless you take this first step. The best way to do the monitor calibation is with an intrument, either a colorimeter or the more expnsive spectrophotometer, whcih can also be used to calibrate and profile your printer. Instruments and calibration software start around $175, and you can spend a lot more if you like.
Once the monitor is calibrated you may get better results as is without profiling the printer, or you may find a "canned" profile for the printer/paper combination you are using that gives acceptable results, but the most accurate color will be achieved if you make, or have made, a custom printer profile as well (typically $50 -$100 for a custom profile, I think).
If you are interested in learning more about color management, I strongly recommend gettting a copy of Real World Color Management. It's pretty easy to read and has down-to-earth recommendations without being full of scientific jargon.

  • Is there a way to change the color of the Bezier Curves and points to a different color other than black  I find it perplexing while setting points and curves working on a photo that needs to be separated from it's background for placement on transparent

Is there a way to change the color of the Bezier Curves and points to a different color other than black  I find it perplexing while setting points and curves working on a photo that needs to be separated from it's background for placement on transparent backgrounds. Any thoughts?

Yes. Well, sort of: instead of a "path", set the pen tool to "shape" in the tool properties. Then set the fill colour to transparent, and the stroke colour to the colour you want. You can also set the stroke width.
Not perfect, but at least you can see the path more clearly - the anchor points and handles still remain the default colour. Open the path panel, and right-mouse click the path shape to create a selection based on that shape. The Paths panel menu also allows you to create work paths based on that shape.
Unfortunately when you try to move the handles the black thin outline appears again until you release the mouse button.
This is one of several things that works better in Photoline: in Photoline, once the path is set to a specific colour, editing the path uses the actual colour and stroke width. which is extremely handy for creating path based selection with awkward background colours and/or a high resolution screen. In Photoline the handles and bezier points are also much, much larger, which makes it rather simpler to work with as well - especially on a higher resolution screen. And when selected the handles and points are a clear red with a black outline - again easier to spot and identify. I just works better, in my opinion.

The colors of the video's in FCP looks different than when playing back in QuickTime. I wonder if it can be a color management setting in FCP? I have the same problem when playing a clip in AE. Have you enabled Final Cut Studio Color Compatibility in the QT Player preferences?

  • Why is the font Garamond Premier Pro bought through Adobe different than the website?

    Hello,
I really liked the font from Adobe, Garamond Premier Pro and I purchased it, hoping to get great documents but unfortunately, it does not look crisp even if I put the size at 14, put it in bold... It looks completely different than the demo and I don't know why it looks the way it does.
I've attached a Word document which represent the way it looks. Hopefully you will see what I mean.
    Thank you,

  • In the Color picker, the selection in the color palette is different than preview.

Working in Illustrator CS5 on a Mac. When choosing a color in the palette, the preview showing up is different than what is in the palette. If I hit "OK" the actual color chosen is the one in the palette, not the preview window... Including some pics for reference.
In my 10+ years of using Illustrator, i have never seen this.
I am using a Dell monitor on a mac... not sure if that would make a difference.

The new/old color preview box is not color managed and thus not reliable. I think that's the way it has always been. It will be the same as the selected color if you assign to your document the color space of your monitor using Edit > Assign Profile. People without a custom monitor color profile by default will not encounter this problem - they always see the colors wrong but consistent. Once you have a custom made monitor color profile you will see a difference between the same color in color managed and non-color managed software and sometimes parts of the same program like Illustrator can be color and non-color managed.

  • Text deleting when I try to change color or actual font

I will try to explain. So say I have a photo (or blank canvas) and I have typed words on it. If later I go and double click the word (or layer, etc) so that I can change the color of the word(s) &/or change the actual font, it will just automatically delete the whole word(s) on that layer.... which means I have to go change the color &/or font again BEFORE typing anything, and then re-type it all. So I guess in other words... I guess the text is deleting when I try to change the color or actual font (after it's already typed). Sorry if that's confusing.
(I have a Mac, and I am using the Photoshop that comes with the Creative Cloud subscription).

Something is wrong here, the text should not delete when changing font, color or whatever.
But try this. First off you don't need to double click to change the text atributes.
Just make sure you are on the correct text layer, have commited the text but keep the text tool the active tool. Now in the options bar you can change any or all attributes (color, size, font etc). The text updates real time.
You only need to select word(s) if you want that word to be in another color/font/whatever than the other words of that same text layer.
If you want to change the attributes of more than one text layer in one go then you must select those layers before changing attributes in the options bar.

  • Colors different in full screen view

I could as well post this under "Mac OS X", but I think here in the Aperture forum it is more likely to get help.
I have the following problem: when viewing images in full screen mode, their colors are different than in the normal windows mode. The difference is not subtle, but severe. For example blue skies have a lot more red and appear much more saturated.
While trying to narrow down this problem I found out the following (and here it starts to get really strange): I exported one image as a JPEG to the desktop to see what the colors would be. The thumbnail then had the oversaturated colors of the full screen view in Aperture. When clicking on it, Preview showed the correct colors with a normal blue sky. When switching to slideshow mode in Preview, again the oversaturated colors from Aperture full screen came up.
When I disconnect my 23" Cinema Display, the full screen view of Preview shows the same colors on my PB like in window mode. So I believe it has something to do with my 23" CD.
Can anybody come up with a good explanation for this behaviour? Could this be some kind of a profile problem?
    Any help appreciated
    PB G4/1.5   Mac OS X (10.4.6)   Aperture 1.1.1

I read Zausel's post that referred to the Colorsync Utility. Under the Devices tab I was able to see both my monitors and confirm they were both assigned the proper profile (they were). There is an option to "Make Default Display" in this utility. I noticed it was defaulting to the Color LCD of the MacBook Pro. I had already set my 23" to my main screen in the display control panel by dragging the menu bar to the big screen in the layout tab. I selected the 23" screen in Colorsync Utility and selected it as the "Make Default Display". Now my full screen previews are accurate. Aperture must use the display profile for normal view screens, thumbnails, light table, but change to the default display profile when it does full screen. (previously, it was using the profile for the 15" MBPro screen for full screen views; thus the inaccurate color) Now everything is in sync and my color looks good on the big display in both normal view and in full screen. Hope this helps someone else.
